I know we’re wrong for each other, we should be sworn enemies, but instead, I can’t seem to get him out of my head... or my heart.
Azrael
Before I was turned, I was at the end of my rope. No hope for the future, and no focus for my passion. Every night I long for something more; I never expected being immortal would be so... boring. There has to be more to it than hunting humans and skulking in the shadows.
All I have to cling to is one memory—the only human memory I savor: Jacob. I thought I’d never see him again, but fate seems to have other plans.
Jacob
I thought Azrael was dead, lost to me forever. Now he’s back in my life, I can’t get enough of this dark-haired man and his intoxicating kisses. I know he wants to protect me, but I’m done playing it safe. Azrael might be wrong for me, but I can’t keep him out of my mind, and I want him in my bed.
As Azrael and Jacob reconnect, their second chance at love is threatened by a dark secret that could keep them apart forever. Can they conquer their differences and cheat fate? Can they overcome centuries of animosity to achieve true happiness?
Azrael must choose: his vampire family or his relationship with the only man he’s ever cared for. One thing is certain, when the sunlight fades to night, passions will rise!

Azrael is a fairly new vampire. He had once lived in a dangerous neighborhood and managed had survived a troubled childhood which proceeded into his adulthood. Azrael’s master didn’t seem to mind the young vampire’s reckless behavior and his spunky rebellious deposition. In fact, he clearly liked to push the limits with his master.
Azrael’s master sent him on a mission to collect the information a werewolf he collected about the local camarillas and killed said werewolf; an easy job for the young vampire. But things take a turn when he finds out the werewolf collecting the info was his best friend from childhood, Jacob.
Jacob had left Azrael and the dangerous neighborhood when he was fifteen when his parents moved them to another place. After Jacob left Azrael was totally lost without his BF to help balance him.
It was by sheer luck that the two met at a bar from a pack of matches that Azrael found in the werewolf’s apartment. The real action starts as the two requite their lost years. These two characters have a lot of crap come their way and it escalates as the two become closer. No one was to know about Azrael mission to kill the werewolf.
I loved both characters, Azrael who had a quick reaction when trouble arose and Jacob who had the stable stance and a calming aura when things got rough and chaos breaks lose.
Noah kept me on edge with all the betrayals, deaths and killings. But balanced it with the extreme love Azrael and Jacob had for each other. It was as close to true mates as they were born the hate the other beast – vampires hates werewolves and the same for the werewolves vs. vampires. But these two looked beyond that and loved the person.
I couldn’t imagine how Noah would bring a HEA into these lover’s lives, but Noah never lets me down and comes up with a wonderful ending to the book. This book stirred my emotions for these two young men as I’m sure it would anyone reading it. By all means pick this book up to read. You won’t regret it. I love vampire and werewolf stories and this was an excellent one. Azrael is a "child" in the vampire world and his sire sends him out on missions for him that can be dangerous. His new mission is to kill a werewolf and gather information. Jacob is a werewolf and he is sent on an information gathering job about the vampires. Jacob and Azrael are childhood best friends and haven't seen each other for years. The two reconnect and their attraction for each other is re-lite and the two must now face the treacheries of Azrael's vampire coven. Meant to kill vampires, Jacob must overcome his prejudices as he learns that Azrael's is a vampire. What will the two do to escape to freedom from Azrael's sire and all his obligations? Treachery and violence enter the picture. Only on one vampire is on their side and that is Seamus, Azrael's friend. Will these two survive to continue their llife together? An HEA to read for.

Summary: Asrael and Jacob became friends when they were children. They grew up causing mischief and sharing everything until the day Jacob and his family moved away leaving Asrael to find his way alone. He managed to survive every difficulty, but not without a price. He used his street skills to get what he needed, but he quickly spiraled out of control until he was left dying. That is when Alexandre, a master vampire, stepped in turning him to save his life. Asrael never quite fit into the mold of his master’s followers leaving him on the outside. Asreal couldn’t accept who the other vampires could use, abuse, and kill humans without reservation.
Alexandre unknowingly gave Asrael his way out when he tasked him with locating a werewolf who was in their territory. The hatred between werewolves and vampires went beyond rational thinking leaving little chance for anything to change, that is until Asrael and Jacob were reunited. Now Asrael knew Jacob was his intended target, but the lure of his old friend brought back feelings he thought were long dead. Jacob was happy to have his friend back and they soon learned that their feelings for each other want beyond mere friendship.
Asrael and Jacob’s growing feelings could quickly be at odds when they reveal who they truly are. It is difficult to look beyond blind hatred to see who the person behind. It was sad how any interaction between the groups would end in many deaths. Asreal’s refusal to accept how other vampires lived allowed him to see the limitations they placed upon themselves. Asrael and Jacob’s need to help and protect each other gave them the strength to fight for their future, whatever it may be.

Who is the enemy? Family or friend? This book is by far the best of the Hearts Desire series and the final one. I loved it. It’s written from the POV of reluctant vampire Azrael who, while on a job for his sire, reconnects with an old crush Jacob, who turns out to be an enemy of the vampires. Should he tell Jacob the truth and risk losing him? If he doesn’t he might lose him anyway. Full of both loyalty and betrayal the plot is exciting and in places edge of your seat reading. I fell for both main characters immediately, both are adorable and if you’re not in love with red hair now you will be after this book! Oh, and you’ll hate the smell of Jasmine! I really wanted both men to break every rule and get over the hurdles that stood in their way. Azrael is torn between his vampire family and his newfound love for Jacob, he’ll have to betray one of them...but which one? I loved the ending. The finale is an emotional one, my heart was in my mouth and I really hadn’t seen the solution Noah comes up with for their situation coming. I’d like to see more vampire werewolf combinations. Can a vampire lie down with a werewolf and create their own Peaceable Kingdom? July 6, 2018 Format: Kindle Edition A good storyline, suspenseful, well-written MM paranormal romance, with some steam and battle scenes. The reunion of two old buddies who have taken very divergent paths brings surprises and actions with fatal consequences as both weigh the strength of their relationship against their loyalties to their respective vampire and werewolf communities. Putting boyhood friends Gabriel and Jacob in two opposing, mortal enemy, supernatural camps makes the drama of their romance more urgent as they risk all to be together.
I found this one a fast, enjoyable read though I thought the hopeful finale a bit vague and open-ended. Will there be a sequel?
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well this intriguing, heartwarming MM vampire/werewolf romance was written and I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. This book is about: a man (Gabriel aka Azrael) who is now a vampire, he is sent by his master to investigate/kill werewolves. Azrael discovers his childhood friend (Jacob) is a werewolf and he has a decision to make. What you will find in this book is: drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, enemies, prejudice, obstacles, emotional feelings, assumptions, deceit, violence, death, regrets, passion and love. The story-line is well-thought out and written with a suspenseful plot. The characters are well-developed with individual personalities. I would recommend this book. “I received a complimentary copy, so I could give my honest opinion”
