If the characters in Bossy prove anything, it's that getting it on at work doesn't mean you need to wipe all papers off the surface and get busy on your desk. The settings in this new mini-anthology from Ladylit are as diverse as the positions the ladies in these five stories find themselves in. A doctor finds comfort with a nurse in Cheyenne Blue's romantic tale of love in the ultrasound room, while Laila Blake's story shows a professor who can't resist one of her students on a sweltering hot day in the classroom. Add a maid whose mistress demands full servitude, a sexy mechanic offering roadside assistance and an A-list actress who has trouble hiding her secrets from a Hollywood reporter... and you get Bossy: five productive tales of lesbian lust.
Caution: This title contains graphic language and bossy f/f sex and is suitable for adults only.
Table of contents Bird of the Summer by Laila Blake Off the Record by Harper Bliss Roadside Assistance by Lucy Felthouse As You Wish by Erzabet Bishop My Name Is Bond by Cheyenne Blue
Harper Bliss is a best-selling lesbian romance author. Among her most-loved books are the highly dramatic French Kissing and the often thought-provoking Pink Bean series. She is the co-founder of My LesFic, a weekly newsletter offering discount deals on lesbian fiction.
Harper lived in Hong Kong for 7 years, travelled the world for a bit, and has now settled in Brussels (Belgium) with her wife and photogenic cat, Dolly Purrton.
Together with her wife, she hosts a weekly podcast called Harper Bliss & Her Mrs.
Not a bad way to kill some time but don't expect anything too spectacular since the five stories in this anthology are a little too short to be anything but bite size smut.
Still, the first one packs quite a bit of heat so maybe have a cold drink while you read Laila Blake's story about a teacher who gets taught a lesson by her student that she'll never forget.
The only story I didn't finish was the final one by Cheyenne Blue. I do not want to read about a radiographer named Jenny when I have a cousin named Jenny who is a radiographer. *shudders*

Bird of the Summer by Laila Blake: I did enjoy this story but it was my least favorite of them all. This has the teacher/student scenario to it and unfortunately (for me) I have a hard time with that kind of set up. I’m a little too risk conscious to be able to just enjoy these kinds of stories. I’m constantly freaking out that someone is going to walk in on them and I’m not even the one in “danger”! I enjoyed the writing and thought it well done it’s just not my type of subject matter generally. However, I have already selected other stories by this author that I’m very excited to read. It definitely wasn’t a lack of writing ability that kept me from enjoying this story as much as the others.
Off the Record by Harper Bliss: My favorite in the set! Maybe I’m biased because it was written by Harper Bliss, and I absolutely ADORE her and her writing, but I don’t care. I really enjoyed the set-up of a famous in the closet lesbian worrying over an interview with a hard ass journalist. I also always like the way Harper presents her characters right up front as being flawed but relate-able. Harper never disappoints!
Roadside Assistance by Lucy Felthouse: My 2nd favorite story in the set. I’ve had never read anything by this author so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I found it a rather sweet and romantic story and therefore it stood out from the other stories where there weren’t necessarily as many scenes of romance as there was lust.
As You Wish by Erzabet Bishop: This one and Cheyenne’s story tied for my 3rd favorite. I enjoy BDSM fiction so I this story was right up my alley. I loved the Mistress in this story and how she handles her live in housekeeper when she’s caught trespassing. Highly erotic and entertaining so I went and found more to read from Ms. Bishop.
My Name is Bond by Cheyenne Blue: Another sweet story that I thoroughly enjoyed. This one wasn’t necessarily as romanticized as Roadside Assistance but I absolutely loved the additional bit of storyline added here with the threat of cancer. It really rooted the story in a realistic setting that I could believe. Will be looking for more by this author as well.
This collection had a shaky start and ending for me, but the three stories inbetween more than made up for it. So let’s start at the beginning.
Birds of Summer by Laila Blake – 3.5 stars
Hot teacher seduced by sexy student, in her classroom, made to write lines on her own blackboard, no less! Novel plot idea, with some girl on girl action. So what’s not to like? Actually, I don’t know if the teacher/student were tall, short, black, white or otherwise. I don’t recall a single descriptor, so given I couldn’t envision the characters the story failed to draw me in.
Off the Record by Harper Bliss – 4.5 stars
Hollywood star interviewed by a British reporter. What happens once the recorder is turned off so you can ‘talk’ off the record? If it’s anything like what these two lovely ladies got up to the tabloids would be much hotter to read. This story hit all the right spots for me.
Roadside Assistance by Lucy Felthouse – 4.5 stars
A damsel in distress rescued by a sexy lady, and hot car sex! Seriously what’s not to love about that scenario! Count me in. Lucy is fast becoming one of my favorite authors in the lesbian erotica genre.
As You Wish by Erzabet Bishop – 4 Stars
This story was a wonderful surprise. The lady of the house ran the place with a tight fist. And her maid learned the hard way how to carry out her chores correctly. The sexy plot and D/s elements were right up my alley. Well done.
My Name is Bond by Cheyenne Blue – 2.5 – 3 stars
This story started out cute with the Bond theme and jokes, but then it moved into dangerous territory. Two people, coworkers, bonding together over the threat of cancer. To me the minute you try to turn such a devastating thing into erotica I’m a goner. To perform a mammogram and then have sex AND fall into insta-love. NOPE, not buying it. I guess you can say everyone has their triggers, and having known many people affected by breast (and other) cancers, I didn’t find this short story the least bit appealing.
I highly enjoyed all 5 stories from these amazing authors I have come to love. It is hard to pick a favorite. I have often fantasized about many of these situations. Laila hit is on the end in Bird of Summer when the student is in full control and has her way with the naughty teacher. When Mara made her write on that chalk board and the way she took her after was awesome and hot. Now there are many an actress that I would love to have and often dream about so Off the Record from Harper was steamy. It made me pretend I was the hot reporter doing the interview and saying all the right things to get her right where I wanted her. Jill definitely got more than she bargained for when agreeing to interviewed by Penny. Now of all of the time I have ever broke down on the side of the road, a gorgeous woman who knew her way around cars was certainly never the one who drove up to help me. Lucy's Roadside Assistance makes me want to move to another country and purposely break down on the road. In the beginning I certainly didn't picture Demelza being dominant but it was hot how she worked the beautiful Helena into giving in to her. Nice... As You Wish from Erzabet was one of my favorites. I have never been and probably will never be brave enough to experience the BDSM lifestyle, but it sure is fun to read about. I loved how Marlee purposely would not finish some of her work just to get punished by her Mistress, that would so be me. My Name is Bond from Cheyenne had a different twist for me in the beginning dealing with such a serious matter that millions of women go through each day but I love how she brought Jenny and Eliza together as the start of a couple and just not a one night stand. I admire all of these women and I will continue to purchase stories from them because I cannot wait to see what they come out with next.
Bossy is a short-story collection of lesbian erotic tales involving power differentials; between a professor and a student, between a mechanic and a customer, between a maid and the houseowner. All these plotlines are flimsy excuses for sex and for those same power differences to bled into their bedrooms.
I suppose I find this book a little problematic. The one with the mechanic - "Roadside Assistance" - was probably the least, being as it was unprofessional only in that sex took place on the job, and even then it took place with absolute mutual consent, and on a break. The first story (between a Professor and a student) gave me the screaming wailies, perhaps because I work in that industry and such a relationship is understood to be incredibly damaging to all involved. The story about the maid also gave me pause - consent can't be given freely if even a hint of coercion is used, and being in fear of your job tends to place pressure in sex where pressure shouldn't go.
I am sure these types of things are someone's fetish, and I'm not judging. Well, yes, I am judging the professor and the student. But the others (if consent is provided freely and not coerced) can be put down into the category of "whatever floats your boat". They just don't float mine, alas.
Book Club buddy D. and I plowed through this small but enjoyable anthology in one evening and it was an evening well spent.
5 stories by 5 well known authors who know their stuff when it comes to writing fine erotica. First story was probably my favorite (and it was Laila Blake of course!). Teacher and student (don't worry, she is well above legal age) stories are always great and this one was particularly naughty.
Harper Bliss, Lucy Felthouse, Erzabet Bishop all delivered (I think Felthouse's Road Assistance was the weakest of the lot) and Cheyenne Blue, noblesse oblige, put the cherrie on top with a wonderful and tender love story.
I was fortunate enough to received a free copy from Harper Bliss for honest review.
My favourite was Off the Record by Harper Bliss, naturally. This story had the best character development. I realise that character development is not necessarily a prerequisite for short story f/f erotica and that's why I appreciate it all the more when I do find it. Also, the story was hot so, mission accomplished.
I had not read anything by any of the other authors but I will definitely be keeping an eye out for all of them from now on.
Laila Blake's Bird of Summer made me very nervous because I was convinced they would not be able to get the writing off the blackboard. The rest of the story was great and probably taps into quite a common fantasy. I still lie awake at night wondering about that blackboard though.
My next favourite was My Name is Bond by Cheyenne Blue. Good back story and women in scrubs. Exactly.
I have had car trouble more times than I care to mention but I have never had Roadside Assistance in quite the same manner as Lucy Felthouse describes. More's the shame. What I liked about the story was that the mechanic wasn't the one who pulled the moves. That was a little surprise right there.
I did enjoy As You Wish by Erzabet Bishop although it was my least favourite. This is not due to any failure by the author but rather a shortcoming in my cognisance of all things BDSM. Having said that, I thought the Mistress rocked and that Marlee richly deserved her spankings. I would like to read more of Erzabet Bishop's work, purely for educational reasons you understand. Yeah, right.
The Fantastic Five strike again and this time are hotter than ever!! This is the third anthology I've found with all five of these incredibly talented, too hot for words, erotic and thrilling women. They just keep getting better and better!
We start with Laila Blake and Bird of the Summer. A sultry tale of a naughty submissive teacher and n even naughtier controlling student. Why couldn't I have had a teacher like that...
Harper Bliss gives us a glimpse being closed Hollywood doors when a reporter “interviews” a closeted actress in Off the Record.
In Roadside Assistance by Lucy Felthouse we see that engine problems can leave you overheated, but that's not such a bad thing.
Erzabet, oh Erzabet...How you do love to torment me! (but I will NEVER complain!) As You Wish is a lovely, wicked tale of a maid and her oh so strict Domme employer. The rain soaked rug is not the only thing that is wet...
And finally last but far from least is Cheyenne Blue. This one was a complete surprise. I did not expect such emotions in this book. I very much liked it. My Name is Bond is a tender, supportive love story that lacked nothing in heated passion. I will be seeking more from Ms. Blue.
Be sure to check out A Christmas to Remember and Sweat for more of these Lustful Ladies.
As usual this is a job very well done, thank you to all the authors! Hopefully we will see more books featuring all of you VERY soon!

The first two stories were really good, but the last three weren't it. When it comes to erotica, I like a little bit of slow burn, let there be a connection even if it's a story of a one-night stand. The characters in the last three stories had sex too quickly that it felt unreal, I didn't feel any connection.
Absolute favourite is As You Wish. My Name Is Bond, loved this Roadside Assist, loved this too Off The Record, loved this Birds Of Summer, just could not relax with the subject matter. Well written and racy, but, for me a bit of a no go.
3 stars. Eh, this was okay. None of the stories were downright terrible or anything but I didn’t find them all that impressive either. I only liked two of the stories and those were ‘Off the Record’ by Harper Bliss and ‘As You Wish’ by Erzabet Bishop. I wanted those to be longer but overall this was fine.
Once in a while it's nice to read a compilation of short stories. But because the stories are short, I don't get really in it and I can't identify with the characters as wel as in full novels. That's why my rating is always a little lower than my average. So while the stories were fine, only 3⭐️ for me.
Ah, what an amazing beach read. Made the day even hotter and wetter than it already was lmao. For real tho, this was so hot at one point I had to throw myself into the sea to cool off. 😅
Would be 5 starts but the last story was far from sexy and was just plain fucking weird to me. I have no idea why someone would use possible breast cancer as a plot device for an erotic story... but okaaaayyy???
The rest of the collection was amazing, I discovered some new authors who's books I'd like to try out.

Why I chose this book?
I love these Anthologies from these ladies and will continue to read them when they bring them out.
What I liked about this book.
* Each story was unique * Lots of lady loving * My favourite was As you wish.
I've had this on my currently reading shelf for much longer than an anthology like this normally stays there (i.e. much longer than a couple of nights) because, frankly and it hurts me to say it cause I normally really like her stuff, Laila Blake's story in this (the first in the book) kept sending me to sleep. Literally. I'm clearly poled differently from the rest of the reviewers so far. After that snore-tastic starter (I'm sorry, Laila, I truly am - I really do love your writing normally), all the other stories seemed great, even the one by the author in this classic line up I don't normally dig so much. So an overall 4 star.
Bird of the Summer by Laila Blake was VERY HOT!!! Off the Record by Harper Bliss was good. Roadside Assistance by Lucy Felthouse was short but fun. As You Wish by Erzabet Bishop was Very good! My Name Is Bond by Cheyenne Blue – I Loved this story! Overall this was a very entertaining quick read that I will probably read again several more times. As is the case with most of the short stories by these wonderful authors; I would love the stories to be longer.
Variety of different stories with the unique way of each writer. I cannot choose one that I liked more than the others. Intense and exciting scenes and characters. Plus a good introduction to new writers who I hadn't read before.
