Second chance story

The husband was caught embezzling and he had to go to prison. His wife divorced him and is now engaged to be married to another man. His kids have grown up and forgot him mostly and Corey the H is bereft. He thought he'd get them back. He found God in jail and he really wasn't a bad man. I felt sorry for him. Holly his ex was not my favorite person. Nathaniel the new fiance was really nice too. I honestly didn't know who shed end up with for awhile and I almost put it down. I am glad I read it. Was it great? Not really. But it was okay. A nice read. There is no sex and barely any kissing and none passionate. It just didn't feel like a romance really at all. Just a book about a guy trying to redeem himself.

First, I want to thank T.K. Chapin for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Gracefully Broken is T.K. Chapin’s 9th Book in The Potter House Series. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone. You will be able to understand the characters and storyline as it does not connect to the previous books. If you are a fan of T.K.’s like I am I can assure you this book he stays true to himself with his faith in God. Like the other books as well he is passionate what he writes about, he will tug hard on your heart strings, and like many times in the past he has made me cry. Be warned you will need your tissues. You will finish this book learning many lessons and maybe implying them into your own personal life.

I was pleasantly surprised and shocked when I came across Holly’s roommate Heidi. I had to smile ear to ear. The mention of my name made my night. My name is rare and you rarely see any authors use that name. So, thank you T.K. for putting a genuine smile on my face.

T.K. in my eyes is an incredibly strong writer when it comes to writing about families. How they interact and the conflicts and resolutions within them. This story shows how passionate he was about all of the characters and the storylines that surrounded him. He did an incredible job with the emotional descriptions that the characters were going through. Many times I wanted to reach through the book and hug many of the characters.

T.K. touched on many difficult subjects in this book such as a family just getting back their father after he just got out of prison, learning to forgive and let go of the hurt, and death.

If you have ever found yourself in a situation, where nothing you tired worked and you ended up making the wrong decision? That is exactly what happened to Corey and Holly! With no money to pay the bills, Corey embezzled from his employer and ended up in prison for three years.

While in Prison Corey accepted Jesus into his heart and even though he was happy about it, he knew it would not make things right with his family. After his release he is hoping he can reunite with his family, however Hannah is now a young woman rather than the little girl he called Wildflower and Michael is just on the brink of becoming a teenager. Will they accept him for the changed person he is? Is there hope for a future together? You will find the answer to those questions as you read “Gracefully Broken”.

Once again Chapin weaves another wonderful story of healing broken lives through God’s love. As Corey and Holly’s story unfolds you will find yourself caught up in their everyday struggle to find peace for past mistakes and courage to step out on faith for the future. This is another must-read! It is book nine in the Potter’s House series.

Once again the message of the Good News comes through in this new story by T.K. Chapin. In one sense of speaking, the story was a roller coaster ride as we journeyed along on the relationship between Corey, Holly, Hannah, and Michael. Corey has just been released from prison. During the time he was in, Holly divorced him. Corey and his ex-wife and children have found faith in Jesus Christ during this time. Corey still loves his ex but she is engaged to another man. The story takes a number of twists and turns as the back story of Corey going to prison and his experiences there are woven in with the current situation following his release. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on each of them getting into the Bible as trials and challenges come their way. I encourage you to read the story to see how things play out. I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

A great story that I highly recommend!! A wonderful read that talks about faith, forgiveness, redemption, hope and truly touches on trusting the Lord and His timing! You won’t regret reading this!
Corey and his wife Holly are married for nearly 20 years and have two children, Hannah and Michael. After several years of illegal money handling through the company he works for, he is convicted and thrown into prison. During the 3 years is away from his family, Holly and the children lose everything. Holly files for divorce from Corey as well. When Corey gets out, he hopes he can get his family back, but soon learns that Holly is engaged. During the 3 years that Corey spent in jail, both he and Holly find God. After he is released, he learns that he truly has to put his hope in God and let Him direct and lead the way. In the end, they both find their back to each other and grow a deeper relationship with the Lord!

Author T.K. Chapin doesn’t shy away from tough subjects, but handles them with God’s grace and mercy. Gracefully Broken is no exception. The good news of God’s forgiveness shines through, bringing hope to a seemingly hopeless situation. Sin has consequences, as Corey found out but there is always redemption available.

The characters in this story are so well developed that you will be able to relate to them and what they are walking through, even if you have never walked through something like it. They are likeable people working through junk, and allowing God to work.

A story of forgiveness and second chances, I highly recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

In “Gracefully Broken”, T. K. Chapin brings us another great romantic story of redemption through knowledge of the grace of God while giving us the path that must be taken to accept that redemption. Corey made conscious mistake and has spent three years in prison after being caught embezzling from his employer. It has caused the breakup of his marriage and estrangement from his children. Holly has been forced into a new life following Corey’s incarceration. Mr. Chapin manages to make his characters believable and you feel the pain each is going through during this time. Corey still loves his ex-wife and vows to try to win her back. Only belief in God and His power could put this family back together. Thank you for another wonderful tale.

Corey wanted to be a good husband and dad, but got carried away with temptation and coveting those things that the world labeled as symbols of success. The price he paid was 3 years in jail. His wife, daughter and son suffered the loss of all those items he had deemed necessary for their happiness. Holly divorced Corey and was determined to go on with her life and provide for her children. Complications arise when Corey is released from prison and hoping that he can redeem himself and reclaim his family. He finds that forgiveness, patience and proving his worthiness to be trusted are not easily won. This story demonstrates how the stabilizing and redeeming presence of Jesus in the hearts of those who are His is a stronger force than all the weapons formed against us.

I love T.K. Chapin's books. His writing is so unapologetically real. I love the characters he creates and the realistic storylines that he did expertly tells. This book did not disappoint!
Corey embezzled funds from his employer and goes to jail for three years. His wife divorces him and she and his two children move on. However in prison Corey accepts Jesus as his savior. When he gets out, he hopes to reunite his family. So when he finds out Holly is engaged, he's heartbroken but decides to rebuild his relationship with his children.
Holly has been solely responsible for Hannah and Michael these past three years. Now Corey is back. As he spends time with the kid, she realizes she still has feelings for him. But she's marrying Nathaniel in just a month. Having received Christ since Corey went to jail and becoming a regular I church and bible study, she sells God's wisdom. Will God truly reunite this family?
The author generously gave me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A beautiful story of redeeming love!
Under growing pressure to pay bills for his family, Corey does something that causes him to end up in prison. While there, he becomes a follower of Christ, and then begins to grow as a Christian, and hopes he can get back with his family, when he is released. It’s not an easy thing to do, but he has help from a friend and his dad. His wife, Holly, isn’t so sure that can happen. This is a very believable book, showing their struggles, and it’s hard to set it down. The outcome may or may not be what you think it will be; but it is a really good book, and I highly recommend it!

Holly and Corey’s life was turned upside down. When Corey meets Javier and they become closer Corey’s relationship with Holly and the kids becomes better. Watching how much their relationship and struggles improve after turning to God is truly amazing. You will feel God working throughout this whole book. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.

This is a wonderful story about a man who has to learn to lean on God and His Grace and timing. Through this story we learn that sometimes we are given second chances. God really is the Lord of second chances and even though it isn't always the way we envision, He is faithful. This is a good heart warming story that gives hope to the reader. I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I have chosen to voluntarily give my honest review of the book.

Cory has committed crimes and spends 3 years in jail. His family is broken with painful struggles.
When he is released from jail, life is different from what he wants from his family. The only way they all can survive is to trust God and let Him be in control of their lives. Thru His grace, the family finds healing, forgiveness, and second chances.
There is a lot of good, Godly wisdom in this story, especially by Cory's dad, Roy.

Gracefully Broken

I’ve always heard the saying that good things can come from bad times and this story is a perfect example! Not having God in his life Corey made a big mistake that financially ruin his family, cost him his marriage and resulted in prison time. When He finally came to accept God in his life changes beyond belief happened.

This is a book listed in the Potter's House.

It is a story of faith, love and forgiveness. The story tells of a family - Corey (Father) Holly (Mother)
and their children - Hannah and Michael. How God and their love for each other restored their
family.

Really enjoy reading Mr. Chapin's stories.

Oh my, oh my, oh my. T.K. has done it again. A fantabulous book around love of money being the root of evil. The consequences are definitely laid out here. But, there is also much about how the entire family was affected and whether or not they can be reunited. Very well done. Highly recommend.

I was given an advance copy of Gracefully Broken to read but am willingly giving a review. A great book of what true forgiveness looks like. Not that we deserve forgiveness but like God has done for us, in Christ Alone we can forgive those that fail us. Loved the journey it took for Holly to forgive Corey and loved Corey's journey of getting past his failure.

This is a story of how God takes broken lives and redeems them. It's not a long read, but it is packed with wisdom. This is the first of T.K. Chapin's works that I've read, but I hope it's the first of many. There is a romance and a satisfying HEA. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.

A loving family is devastated when the father goes to prison for stealing huge sums of money from his employer. The mother and children lose almost everything and start almost from scratch. This heartbreaking story shows the impact on the family and how they react when the father is released from prison. I teared up more than a few times, but am so glad I read this book.

Mr. Chapin always leaves me wanting his next book! This was such a stirring story. No fantasy or fairy tale stuff, but real life and all it's struggles. The characters, through some life-changing events, turn to Christ, grow in Him, and in the process learn what love and forgiveness really mean in a practical sense.

The beauty of brokenness..

The beauty of brokenness is an awesome display of God's work in the lives of those who love Him! First has spent four years in prison, his wife divorced him and has become engaged. How will they cope with this with two children ,especially when he still loves her and she realizes she still loves him? This is a very good book!

If God is for us

The story was similar to one I read recently but it was a good redemption story. Corey steals from the boss and gets caught when the company goes public. His cellmate leads him to Jesus and he is a better man. His wife divorced him when he went to jail but he still loves her, so he wants her back. You’ll have to read it yourself to get the details.

Like you said in the beginning not everyone has this outcome but I was rooting for the whole family. Also shed tears for the hurt & pain. There is no condemnation in Christ but we still reap what we sow & this book brings that to remembrance!
