As a lover of ménage books, I was really disappointed with this one. The story is full of spelling errors and grammatical mistakes. In addition, the sex scenes made me cringe! The men, who were supposed to be caring and protective, seemed to have no concern for her comfort and wellbeing. It is beyond belief and just plain cruel to depict an anal sex scene (in which she is a virgin) without going through proper preparation (not to mention the lack of lube!)! While the story was the typical secretary/bosses romance, the story was just not well written and lacked substance.
I can tell this author has potential, which keeps this from being a 1-star review. The problems began pretty early with, "Losing one of them was hard enough, but losing them both within a year was hard enough." That type of repetition lacks imagination. The author also used present and past tense in the same sentence. She invents words. She writes utter nonsense like "eyes stooped half lidded." Huh? The story's rushed and not believable. The plot is inconsistent. We're told in the blurb that she was fired for kneeing her boss. Wrong. She threw cake batter. Then she broke his nose--landing him in the hospital?? THEN she kneed the men's client in the balls. In one scene, a guy went from chest to you know where because the writer forgot her positioning. This is what I often call a "soccer mom writing while she waits in the car for practice to end" effort. That is, lazy, shoddy, bored, and scattered--a hobby to pass time rather than a serious writing career. Hire a good editor, Ms. Hopkins, if you want to write for a living. Thank goodness this was free.
