This is a good beginner book about pangolins. It includes text features such as brief sidebars, a brief glossary, and an index. Attractive photos and layout will make this a good choice for young animal lovers.

This title from the Even Weirder and Cuter early reader series imprint of Bearport Press introduces readers to the Pangolin which is an Asian hard scaled mammal. The text offers interesting facts that new readers will gobble up the full color photographs that help decode and expand the knowledge from the simple sentences about this animal. The final page of text offers a look at three other strange and scaly animals. Book extras include a table of contents, an index, a picture glossary, two books for more reading, and a link to Bearport’s secure web resources online. I would highly recommend the purchase of this book and series to both school and public libraries. The kids will love learning about the animal and the series offers a fulfilling amount of content appropriate for new readers.
