This series continues to grab me, even though the middle books of this series and the previous series were a little predictable. The action picked up quickly, following the usual pattern, and continued along that path, with some pleasant surprises and some unpleasant ones. The plot twists were interesting, if a little predictable at times. The climax was gripping, and took the ending in a way I was not expecting at all. I'm going to have to read the next in the series very soon.

With so many twist and turns going on in this series I'm surprised that any of them are still alive but yet they are for the time being. Even after a new potential ally betrays them and have their party is captured by slavers. And worse two of the swords with them. And on top of all this I still can't figure out how Moeller can continue to come up with more deadly allies to go against the party. But he does which keeps the series fresh and interesting.

Good

I finally figured out where Selene came from after reading these books. I enjoyed the book, especially toward the end when it started to become intense. Cathala is an idiot, and I hope she dies. I feel sorry for Calem, and hope that he isn’t too damaged from his experiences in this book. One thing that has been driving me crazy in these books is Morigna. She communicates with the characters in dreams, but the character doesn’t remember the dream afterwards and just ignores the foreboding feelings they have in the morning. It is utterly useless. I don’t see a reason for the warnings because they don’t do any good. Also, there was a lot of sex in this book (not detailed), which was definitely not my favorite, but I am grateful Jonathan Moeller doesn’t write detailed scenes.

Another winner

Every time I pick up on Ridmark Arban's saga, it's like going on an anxiously awaited vacation to meet up with old friends. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one.

More epic tale spinning in a compelling story.

Another great addition to the series.
What the flow of each book is similar, the writing really sucks you in either the want to find out more. A real page turner.

Another good installment in the series. I like the idea of the swords and their wielders having different personalities. Just as you think everything runs smoothly, something else makes sure that this is no longer the case.
This book was primarily driven by Tamlin's quest to reanimate his mother who was turned into stone by his father. A few surprises later and the party is yet again fighting for their lives so they can save the world, again.
This series has an amazing insight into Calliande, who unlike in the previous series has taken more of a central role. Scythe is amazing and the character development of Third is wonderful.
Cons:
1.Knowing as a reader what's happening before the characters realize it, makes for one frustrated reader.
2. The religious aspect whilst believable, does at times become repetitive. A good example is Kalussa throwing herself onto a man at first and then becoming almost prudish in the later book without any explanation inbetween.

A chatty urdhracos. What's not to love?

Tamlin's mother turns out to be extremely unpleasant. I bet they wished they had left her a statue. What conceit. I hope she gets her comeuppance in the future.

My only negative observation is that there seemed to be so many battles with little or no time to recuperate in between. I doubt if even magically endowed characters would have that much endurance, much less be able to overcome an enemy.

I think this is one of the better books about Ridmark and Calliande's forced adventure in Owyllain. I can't wait for September when the next volume is scheduled for release.

Selene is hilarious! I love this character. Calliande and Ridmark were amazing as usual. Their relationship is why I keep coming back to this war. Can't wait for Serpent!!
Spoiler*******`

If age is why Third can jump and Selene can't, why does Mara have the ability? She was never an urharcos at all and not over 30 yrs old.

At this point, I've kept reading this series because I'm invested in the main characters. The battle scenes are repetitive and the recaps awkward. The plot has potential, but the story is ruined by being hand fed the characters' motives over and over again. The author can benefit from an editor.

The story continues, but treachery abounds

All of the novels have been building to the climax, but we still need to get there.

The story is not as strong as others in the series, but it will continue towards the end. Who will bring the swords to the end? Only the author knows.

Great As Usual

Jonathan does it again, a great book. I don’t know how he keeps turning out his books so quick but he does not leave his fans in suspense like most of others to long.

Still the same old sleep, eat, fight, repeat but this had a twist. Liked the final character and how the book sudenly went a little off track. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

I wish I was a better reviewer but again this is a great book. There are both good and bad things happening, lots of action, a surprise and a not surprise. Highly recommend the whole series

Great book

Great book. Similar to the others. Irritates me that I am having to review it just to close it and move on to the next book.
