It's exciting times for Software By Design, founder Liam Benedict. He is about to close a deal with Arroyo Enterprises which will open them up to more growth and bigger contracts. He's also close to delivering a major defense contract. Hack-proof security software is his company's forte and their hard work is about to pay off, in more contracts, better office space and more developers.

Sydney Alfiore is a high-power criminal defense attorney, when we first see her she is in the middle of a complicated case. When she literally runs into Liam as he is rushing to his meeting with the Cantrells, they agree to have a drink if they finish early enough.

Fortunately they do get to have that drink, and Liam shares not only his good news but also the feeling of being watched but can't put a finger on it.

Unfortunately things don't all go smoothly. We get peaks at the traitor within Liam's company, but only a few clues as to who it is.

When a secret alarm goes off that someone is trying to breach the new installation, Liam's world gets turned upside down. A forensic data analyst, Eric Braun is called in and when he makes the discovery he ends up dead before he can let anyone know. Now Liam is fighting for his freedom and his company's integrity.

Intertwined with some very sensual and steamy scenes, a page-turning , nail-biting mystery unfolds. You won't want to put this one down.

Brilliant Technological Mystery / Romance!!

Liam Benedict started his elite security software company from nothing and carefully selected those who worked for him. When mega-conglomerate Arroyo offers to partner with him he is ecstatic at the changes and opportunities that will bring. When his super-secret security trap is triggered in a high profile contract he knows there is big trouble.

High profile lawyer Sydney Alfiore is associated with the Arroyo companies, and while attracted to Liam, has also been focused on building her career. When they run into each other Liam decides not to ”wait” any longer to get to know her better.

If you are looking for a romantic suspense read then DOUBLE DECEPTION is perfect for you.

For Liam Benedict merging his company into the enormous conglomerate is a dream come true, until the nightmares begin. The software is screwed up and the company is now in jeopardy. He has no idea who to trust and where to turn. A forensic analyst is murdered before he can tell Liam who did the damage and Liam is arrested for his murder. He turns to criminal defense lawyer Sydney Alfiore. It will take all her skills and the entire Arroyo Corporation to solve the many riddles that cross their paths.

This is an action packed book, a little heavy on the technical side in the beginning but, as you read those heavy facts make it easier to understand this world better. This is the only reason I gave it less than 5 stars (really 4-1/2 but it doesn't work on Goodreads), because it did slow it down in the beginning.

The romance is steamy as we find that Liam loves his lady lawyer, probably the only person he can trust.

It is steamy, fast paced and will have you totally engrossed in every page as the twists and turns entertain the readers. A good read for sure!

Well I gotta say this was a hard read in the beginning. I almost could not get through the technical stuff. But knowing Ms. Holt, she would not write it if it was not absolutely necessary. And come to find out you needed to know this to understand the plot better.

The sex scenes are hot, but a few actual coupling scenes. There are a couple of masturbation scenes, they are good. I know, what is the difference, imagination is sometimes better than the actual thing. Yes that is true, but I would have liked the couple to get to know each other a little better. However, I know that is just a part of this story.

I would recommend this book as a good romantic suspense novel because the plot is crazy good, the romance strong, and the ending was a surprise to me..

Liam's worst nightmare is coming true. On the verge of great financial and creative success he realises his software is not up to par and it may have been sabotaged. He sees enemies at every turn and can't rely on anyone he knows. When the forensic analyst he used is murdered before giving him his findings, Liam finds himself in deep water with the police - they think he's the killer!

Sydney is a defence lawyer. She takes on Liam's case and she'll need every resource that the Arroyo Corporation can provide. Even then it may not be enough to save Liam or his company.

This was a bit tech heavy for me in places - technology is not my friend! Other than that it is the usual well crafted, character drive storyline I'm used from this author. Plenty of action and romance to keep me a happy camper. Lots of twists and turns to keep you engaged.

Double Deception by Desiree Holt is an amazing romantic suspense. Ms. Holt has once more had me glued to my Kindle with this book. The characters in this well-written book are fantastic and totally lovable. Liam is owner of a security software company. Sydney is a criminal defense attorney. Their story is loaded with drama, humor, action, sizzle and suspense. I loved every page of this book and can't wait for my next book by Desiree Holt. Double Deception is book 2 of the Corporate Heat Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Intrigue with the heat we've come to expect from this author makes for a can't put down book! I don't read a lot mystery/intrigue books but if this author writes them I'm definitely going to read them. The story sounds very interesting and totally lived up to what it promised! Hot computer geek gets deal of a lifetime and merges his company with a well known mega company. All isn't rosy when he finds out someone he trusts is hacking into a clients computer. When there's a murder he gets the help of the hot defense attorney who he's started seeing. Lots of page turning suspense, who done it and heat of course! Must read!

Liam is the owner of a security software company and Sydney is a criminal defense attorney. Liam is accused of murder, but he is innocent. Proving it will be hard, because the mole in his company has already killed once. Sydney is trying her best to defend him and find the real killer. This book has passion, suspense, action, and intriguing characters. This is the second book in this series, but it can be read as a standalone. I received this book from the author to read and review. Desiree Holt writes the most interesting books and her characters seem to leap from the pages.

Liam was a computer programmer and was a great character who started to have some issues with a security system he set up. Sydney was an attorney and a great character who was first dating then defending Liam when he is accused of murder. Lots of steam and sexy time between the two and tons of action with some mystery. This book kept me awake until I finished it. I loved it!! I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received.

This book was awesome on all fronts and I had a hard time putting it down. Each page pulled me into this fascinating story full deceit, betrayal, conspiracy and murder. The tension and suspense thru the book was spot on and Holt’s writing kept me engrossed in every page. The story was cleverly written with plenty of twists, turns, turmoil and heat to keep the story entertaining. It was a great read!
