Maya Rose has a problem. She’s the last in her line of dragon shifters, and if she doesn’t produce an heir soon, it could be disastrous for her kingdom. In order to remedy this, her father, the king, has gathered the greatest heroes from across the lands, and set them on a quest to not only save the kingdom, but to win Maya’s love. Should they succeed, they will become her husband and rule by her side. Should they fail to win her love, death is the only answer. But with so many dashing men willing to do anything to win her hand, how is a girl to choose? Then again, no one ever said she had to pick just one. After all, the fate of the realm is at stake, and maybe this time, more is merrier.

On the outside, she’s a work from home mom and bookbinger. One the inside, she’s a thirteen-year-old boy screaming to get out and tell you the pervy joke they found online. As an ex-computer programmer, she dreams of one day combining her love for writing and college credits to make the ultimate video game!

Until then, when she’s not writing, Erin is devouring as many books as possible on her quest to have the biggest book gut of all time. She’s written over thirty books, ranging from paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and even scifi romance.

Riding Lightning: A Reverse Harem Dragon Fantasy Adventure (Starcrossed Dragons) (Volume 1)
By: J. A. Cipriano, Erin Bedford
Narrated by: Melissa Moran
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
I totally loved this fantasy novel!!! Maya is a dragon but is sent to live with humans because her father is a creep. Her sister is chosen to the one to bear the heir so Maya is shipped out. She does good for herself for five long years. Career, friends, money then suddenly she is told she HAS TO come back. Her sister can't have kids and she has to be the one to mate. That was not what she had plans for but she knows she has to go, one way or another. She goes and her dad already has men there! It is a funny and crazy story about guys wanting her to pick them and she is drawn to all of them. It starts with 2 guys and then her old boyfriend comes into the mix. The reader doesn't know who to pick to win! Can't wait for the next story! It is a steamy yet fun story with hot sexy dragon guys. The narrator is perfect for this story and gets the voices, emotions, and inflections down pat! She makes the story run smoothly! Great performance!

I absolutely hated this book.

I absolutely hated this book. I couldn't get pass chapter 18 and struggled to make it that far. I disliked Maya and was wishing good things for her sister and Jack. She started off as a weak character, giving in to her father and suitors after a 5 year banishment so easily. And although the author kept mentioning tightening cores and clenched thighs she sure spread those legs pretty easily for roirdan although he came off as a pretentious, smirky jerk to me

Maya has a problem, she’s the last of her kind of dragon shifters. An heir is needed as her sister can’t have kids, so it’s up to her. She gets two choices for a Mate. Amazing story by two superb authors that leave you wanting more.

I liked this book. I went into this with not a lot of expectations and so I wasn't disappointed with it. The pacing was good and appropriate throughout. There were a few minor plot twists that I did not see coming. I enjoyed seeing all of the different types of dragons and I found the way that this world was structured intriguing.
On the negative side, this book did come off cliché and the tropes that were used were nothing special. I found the main plot really predictable and it was not fun to guess the " big plot twist" chapters before it happened.
I don't know if I will be continuing this series or not. It did not grab my attention as much as I wanted it to. Overall, this book came off just meh and I don't know if I want to invest any more time in it.

Bad FMC

I really can't stand a reverse harem where the female main character has no personality and is just a shell of a person to move along plot. Maya had no agency and no thoughts of her own and it made it hard to understand why anyone would be in love with her, let alone 3 different guys. That in addition to the lackluster worldbuilding made this a hard book to get though.

This book had some great dragons in it. They had many different powers. Who knew you could sleep with a princess and get a super boost! This was exciting for sure and it kept me coming back to see what was going to happen next. *This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.*

Dropped it halfway, too many pet peeves of mine.
But grow some back bone, lady. I'm getting tired of those female dragons completely controlled by the males around her.

Maya Rose is a dragon princess who has spent the last five years banished to earth after upsetting her father. She has a successful career as a programmer for a gaming company where she developed a hugely popular game modeled after her own world. Now her father has sent for her, demanding that she return home and do her duty to the family; mate and produce an heir. Knowing that it's useless to fight, she returns home to meet her suitors; Jack, a nobleman from the frozen Northern Mountains and Raiden a prince from the Eastern Region. The three are immediately sent on a diplomatic mission to secure a truce with the Southern King. Once there they find him at war with his own son, Firestar, her first love and the reason for Maya's banishment. When Maya and Firestar reunite, it's clear that their attraction for one another is stil present, so he too joins the fight to become Maya's mate. But Maya is attracted to all three. While infidelity is common in the dragon world since conceiving children is difficult, it's expeced that the princess will choose one man/dragon as her mate. Maya has never been a "normal" dragon however!

The story was just okay. I had a hard time staying deeply interested. Maybe if the character's connections were stronger the story would have been more appealing. Maya is fine as the lead female, but there's not anything that makes her stand out as truly special. I'm hoping for a little more character development in the next book; quirks or anything that will really set her apart. I think she was supposed to be spirited, however she allowed her father to lie and abuse her; I would have preferred more backbone. I have issues with each of the men. Raiden seems too casual and at times lewd, Jack too judgemental and haughty, Firestart too volatile. None of them seem to be terribly true to Maya. Sure they seem interested in the role as future king and with having sex with her, but as far as being in love or even having a deeper connection, I never saw it! This bothered me. There were comments made to her that would be hurtful and flirting in front of her. Until the very end I couldn't even tell that they were overly fond of her. Her father the King is horrid! I would rather stay banished than help him. And her mother and sister allowed him to talk to her as a lesser being. His verbal abuse was unacceptable.

I would have finished this book and not considered reading any future books except for the ending. The twist at the end captured my interest like the rest of the book did not. It showed the potential to grow into something entertaining. Maybe Maya and her dragon men will develop stronger, hotter connections the second time around.

I enjoyed this book. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. It's an entertaining read about the dragon shifter princess Maya who had been exiled from her kingdom by her father, but is now called back to find a suitable husband and produce the next heir. She's been living happily here on Earth in the human world and reluctant to do that. That is, until she meets one of her suitors Jack with whom she has fiery hot chemistry. It's an action-packed and fun adventure, with some romance tossed in. Check it out.

If you love the reverse harem troupe, then you will probably love this book. Lots of steamy sex, lots of angst as the heroine tries to decide which guy is for her, three hunks who just happen to be dragons.....if this is your idea of a great read, then you will love it!

Maya has been banished to earth by her father, the King. She is called back when he needs her to produce an heir. Enter her suitors, Raiden & Jack, as opposite as night and day. Then, throw in her first love, Firestar, and you have the makings of a tangled mess.

I did enjoy the dialogue between the characters, one thing that I have come to expect and love about the authors' writing. Otherwise, this book is only for the reverse harem lovers out there.

I was given an ARC of this book and chose to review it.

Fast Paced

While this one moved rather quickly and I won't deny I'd have loved to spend more time with these characters in this world I definitely enjoyed it and can't wait for the next novel. My biggest complaint actually has nothing to do with the writing and actually is a formatting issue. Especially in the beginning chapters I had to keep changing font sizes in order to catch all the words, words kept getting lost on the page changes. Not sure what causes it that but fixing it would make the reading experience a lot more enjoyable. Overall definitely recommended.

Emotionally thrilling, sweetly sexy, action packed and engaging romantic adventure filled with danger, mystery and smocking hot passion... very enjoyable reading.

Maya Rose is unexpectedly called back home to mate and produce an heir but she has to choose a mate among the men her father has chosen .... but why must she choose??? Loved this story and its witty banter and heart pounding action.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Maya did not live up to her families expectations so she was pretty much exiled to Earth even if she is a dragon shifter. She made a life for herself with things going pretty well until her fathers men show up to announce she must go back. Her amazing sister is sterile so now she has to become the one to birth the new generation of dragons. As you would expect this does not go over well with lots of tension, fighting, secrets, and so much more. Just starts really getting interesting when the story comes to an end. Good world building creating an interesting story that I am interested to follow now. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

This book was annoying AF. The heroine is vacillating between self righteous anger and total compliance at being forced into her situation.

First she gets banished to the human realm because she's a disgrace as a dragon. Then she gets fetched to return because her sister is barren and she'll now need to be the one to provide an heir. Then everyone keeps making deprecating comments about her wardrobe and mannor. Her sister and mother both act all hugs and smiles, as if they didn't stand by and watch her get banished without issue. Everyone is acting like she came back willingly and should be happy about this opportunity.

In fact, I guess she did come back willingly. She never protested one iota except for in her head.
At 20% I'm frustrated AF with everyone but especially her. She's completely spineless thus far and now I don't even want to read her story.

Dragon babies.

Thanks to her sister being barren, Maya is dragged out of banishment to choose a mate between lighting and ice. Together they take on a task given by her father. Do not like the dad. What a -. Favourite character is Jack. Patient, jealous, calm and caring. Basic plot line but fast paced and fun.

What a romp

Banished then recalled to produce an heir. It is really gross how daddy dearest doesn't care who fathers his grandchild. The two suitors and Maya and up on a quest and discover a few twists along the way. If that is not bad enough Maya acquires another suitor too. This book is a laugh a minute.

Waste of time and money!

I'm not sure if there is a language barrier or what excuse the authors will give, but I only got to 19% before I called a quits. "Unshed tears fell down my face," is just one of many phrases that made no sense. Don't waste your time and money!

Pain is more than physical!!!

If someone tells you all your life that you will never be amazing or you are not beautiful you will start believing it. mental abuse is hard to get pass without help. Will Maya be able to herself as the strong woman and her land in time?

Very good start to series

The Dragon world is kind of unique and definitely intriguing. Maya has a very weird life and is being forced, kind of, into an arrangement that is unique to other dragons. I do not like her father at all. I'm a big Jack fan though.
