OK people - for me, this one is at par with Against the Gods. Currently another of my super super fav books I am eagerly waiting to finish. This one has vampires, were-wolves, cultivation all mixed in and so it wonderfully deviates from your typical cultivation novels and I loovvvee it. So don't hesitate - go ahead, read it and show all your love. Happy reading...
This is a pretty bog standard cultivation/fantasy origin, everything about the larger novel that breaks away from convention doesn't happen until the next part.
Translation isn't fantastic but it rarely takes the reader out of the book
Would recommend, enjoyed it from start to finish. Grim fantasy aesthethics, with space-punk related themes. In essence: a Chinese Xianxia novel inspired by Western fantasy. First book in a longer series, with great translations available online. A bit lengthy, but worth the effort.
So story about boy from the dumps who gets picked up by a general and goes to military school. Part 1 feels like a prologue like this is all just a set up for the main plot. The main character honestly kind of has a bland personality. The world building is very good tho.
Great world building and character development. I just dislike how the author made the MC suddenly dumb and needs other people to make decisions for him. It was a total shift and unnatural. Also please never write romance, it completely ruined the story. What a waste.
