I actually wasn't a huge fan of how this book ended. Most of it was very exciting, and I thought the final fight scene was pretty cool, but then it felt like everything just drifted apart at the end. I get that the point was to show that everyone's lives go on after everything has been accomplished, but there's a reason most books don't tend to show that part. Not only did it feel somewhat anti-climactic, but a lot of it felt forced somehow. I like how the relationship between Otto and Grunt ended, though the conversation itself somehow didn't feel quite right, but a lot of the other characters just felt like the author was trying to fill up space. I never really felt a spark between , and that whole conversation just seemed so awkward and uncomfortable. Vivian's ending was decent enough but just felt unnecessary - you could probably write a whole spin-off book going through everything skipped in her story for the 'six months later' - and something about Jaxon's ending just didn't sit right with me. After all this time, she finally felt like she had found a family, only to say goodbye to them and set off with yet another family. I get that the context is totally different, but it feels like she's right back where she started, never quite having a place to call home and switching families yet again. If she had spent more time with the Atlantis Guard I might feel differently, but it seemed like she had only just finished saying how she actually felt at home with the Atlantis Allegiance. Overall the series was pretty decent, but I would have preferred a better ending.
Through a monumental clash of all of the enemies of The People of The Sea, one by one, each faction is done in. As the greedy governments fight it out, Jaxon and the Atlantean Guard go looking for the fabled object of power in Gambia. A circlet of gold, the power of the heart and the wily thinking of some good people send them on their way to bring back together The People of The Sea. Excellent books, only suggestion I have is to put it all together in one book! Highly recommended!
This series started out great, but got really repetitive and became a political thriller. It was fine, but forgetful. I wouldn't recommend the series, but I'd like to see a similar premise as book 1 from a different author.
Not as good as previous books in the series. It seems to be rushed to a finish that really doesn't live up to the series. I feel let down, I just don't think this was where the series was headed.
