A lot of really crazy things happen up north.
Celeste's boyfriend Austin was born and raised there . . .
Think about that . . .
Celeste Desparde has had just about enough of her loser, deadbeat, no count boyfriend Austin.
But Austin has a plan to fix everything . . .
What could possibly go wrong?
Well, an awful lot if you didn't factor in Cecil and his crew of wise-guys running a mob operation for Chicago's Saventinni brothers. Just when things can't seem to get any worse - They do!
The problem is really very simple; Austin + Chicago wise guys($3+ millon) = Celeste's life is a disaster! Or is it?

Finders Keepers is the second book in the Hotshot series.
I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, I still live there as well as in Dublin, Ireland. I've been a soldier, freelance journalist, tended bar, sold designer cakes, owned a painting and decorating company along with a number of other schemes and scams. If that doesn't offend you I also play bagpipes with the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band. All my books stand alone, read them in whatever order you wish. They are filled with the sort of oddballs we are all curious about, but wisely, prefer to keep at a distance. None of my characters will be saving the world from terrorism, international banking conspiracies or coups to take over the government. Rather, they inhabit a world just below the surface of polite society, characters with one foot on either side of the law. The circumstances they find themselves in are usually due to bad decisions, but bad decisions lead to interesting stories. They serve not so much as an example but as a warning to us all. Thanks for taking the time, happy reading.
Brothers Austin and Andre have a simple plan; Steal the money in a bank deposit from a strip joint that has been picked up by armored car and delivered to an out of the way facility. Unfortunately that facility is being used by the Chicago mob to move money in to Canada for laundering. It is the wise guys that are driving the truck and it contains $3 million of their money. Suffice it to say, that through a comedy of errors, Austin and Andre end up with the money. The race is on and hilarity ensues.
Have you heard the saying, "Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good."? It seems like wastrel brothers Austin and Andre have good luck. Since it is too much like work to have a job, they decide they can get some money by robbing an out-of-the-way money holding facility that has the Friday night take from the local strip club. Instead of the $2-3 thousand they expected, they end up with $3 million. The bad news is that is drug money for the Chicago mafia. The good news is nobody knows who stole the money. I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first story in the series, Reduced Ransom. Maybe it's because the gangsters have a sequence that was very brutal and it affected how I viewed the rest of the story. Also, I didn't like the main protagonists as much. Oh well, I liked the first book a lot and this one was okay, so I will probably be reading the third book in the series some time soon.
In a cartoonish caper, two inept brothers steal from a gang of drug traffickers, leading to a series of wild situations. However, I found the advertised humor to be lacking. Neither the dialogue nor the situations managed to be particularly amusing, and I struggled to see the comedic aspects. The characters were mostly unsavory, and I didn't feel a strong connection or support for any of them. The narrative's pacing was acceptable and flowed relatively smoothly. The ending, while somewhat predictable, felt fitting and appropriate. Overall, I would rate it as okay, which is reflected in the two-star rating.
What can I say about Finders Keepers. This story is crazy.....in a good way, sort of. Austin is bound and determined to impress Celeste with a big robbery. Of course things don't always go as planned, and that is really the case here. you will need to read this book to follow all the strange, weird, antics that go on....in the name of love. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Two brothers steal a lot of money from drug traffickers and that begins an adventure full of mishaps and trouble that they didn't bargain for. A lot of fun to read!
the cavalier attitude and gleeful description of torture ruined everything for me, and most of the characters were pretty stinky. I suppose that there is a market for this, but I would not have thought in books
Chaotic, funny and just plain fun. Be prepared to lol. These characters are quirky, hilarious and just plain out of control. Can't wait for more of this outrageous series.
The characters are colorful and the shenanigans abound! The preconceptions of the mob guys versus reality was quite entertaining. Thanks for yet another good read.
Brothers and perpetual screw ups Austin and Andre decide to augment their income by stling the local strip club's Friday night deposit. What could possibly go wrong? They get a big surprise when Chicago gangsters are involved. Two zany brothers, psychotic mobsters, an exotic dancer, a small town banker and madcap action make this another gleeful Mike Faricy tale. Things start out crazy, go on to laugh out loud and end up ruthlessly wonderful.
