USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.
Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.
In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,
Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.

Jane continues to work on cleaning up the house, write the novel, and see 👀 her mother in the hospital. Things are not coming together very well. Then she finds her missing friends blanket buried in the back yard. Continued in book three.
I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of romantic family and friends relationships mystery novels 👍🔰 2024 👒
hese serials by Stephanie bond are always fun. I learned after her first serial series to wait until the whole story is out. I’m not patient enough for the waiting but I do love the short daily style Jane has returned to Alabama to care for her mother after her stroke. She has to manage cleaning up the house with not letting anyone know she’s on the brink of career failure.
Comeback Girl (Part 2) by Stephanie Bond takes place every day in August 2018. It is not that long ago, not like in the 60s or something. The story takes place as a continuation of (DUH moment) Part One, which took place in July 2018.
Jane is back home in Accident, Alabama. There must be an interesting story behind the name of this town. How does municipal spirit grow to the point where residents are proud to say they come from Accident? Perhaps Bond will tell us.
We know why Jane came back. Her mother was ill and required hospitalization that would take her away from the farm. Someone had to look after the farm, feed the pigs, pay the bills, and do all the administrative side of stuff that was daily life. Brother Tyler isn’t willing to help; he claims to be almost broke. Jane is assumed to be rich because she is a big city published novelist. Surely she can take time to help with mom, right?
Sure she can because Jane had hit the writer’s wall or writer’s block. Janes editor is pushing for more product and Jane has responded with a request for an extension, using her mom’s illness as an excuse. Maybe she will write while on the farm. But there are a bunch of things she has to attend to. Someone has made a complaint about Mom’s hoarding. It was a justified complaint; Jane has spent days tunneling out a place for her to sit when on a Skype call to her boyfriend, Hugh, in London. Hugh is starting to look as useless as Tyler; he can’t even find Trudy, Jane’s missing dog. Could Will, a neighboring handyman, become a substitute for Hugh? Not in the near term, perhaps. Read this serialized story to follow the action.
While on the farm cleaning out Mom’s stash of useless collectibles, she will inevitably come across some of mom’s private items, such as long ago written letters. There will be secrets or hints of secrets. Read this collection of daily posts to find out more.
It is an effort to review these collections without revealing spoilers. That is part of the fun of writing a review. Readers would have the best reading experience if the collected observations were read as they were written, one each day. Failing that, reading the collected monthly posts is still fun for the quality of writing. This type of calendered record is a five-star read in its genre for originality.
Jane Hunnicut continues to struggle as she cleans out her mother's over-stuffed horror of hoarding household. While she misses England, her missing puppy Trudy, and Hugh (the ex???), she has reconnected with her friend Emma, and feelings for neighbor/vet Will seem to be softening...er, maybe? Her mom is no better and money is running out. While Jane sorts out things to sell and help go towards the financial crisis, she also makes some amazing discoveries.
The author is a marvel at storytelling, and makes it difficult to wait for the next segment to be released!
What I hate about this series is I have to wait a whoooolllle month for the next installment! I really enjoyed Temp Girl, but I'm absolutely enthralled with this series. How I wish it were a standalone novel so I didn't have to wait until September 1st.
I love the characters in this book. I feel for the girl, but think she might just be perfect for old town and the interesting Vet. Looking forward to number three.
How do you deal with your Mom having a stroke that leaves her comatose and she became a hoarder before her stroke. And just to make it interesting, it looks like her brother killed her friend.
I have a love/hate relationship with Bond’s daily serials. I love the story but it’s never enough. And when there is a “short” day I feel very cheated! Counting down the days until September so I can get part 3!
Jane is homesick. She's thinking about her best friend that went missing 10 years ago and now the detective that investigated the case is snooping around Accident. She's worried about her hospitalized mother and the red necked vet the seems to keep running into her.
Stephanie Bone is at her best with the serials. I love she weaves all the complicated emotions we have about going home together with a suspenseful story. What happened to Diedre and will Trust come home? Can't wait for the next one.
I liked the story and couldn’t put it down. I had a quiet alone day. I picked up the book and kept reading the whole day. I felt surrounded by some warm and troubled people. I did not want to stop. Now I have to order episode 3.
I dunno. First, I am not sure about the characters. Jane is not very likeable, or even funny. I am reading this because I am stubborn and don't like to leave a book unfinished. Maybe it will improve. Hopefully.
Oh, how I hate when Stephanie leaves us hanging at the end of the month. I hope I can wait until tomorrow. (Well, I'll have to!) Love her serials and this one is getting better.
I'm pulling for Jane to figure all this out! So much intrigue, and new twists along the way. I'm moving on to the next installment. Kim Hamilton, author of Accidental Lawyer.
