Ralston this time Madison isn’t a hotwife and she has no interest in becoming a swinger. But she is feeling a certain restlessness…a longing for something different. She’s never experienced anything like it before. Her marriage is the very definition of boring and monotonous, her job doesn’t challenge her any more, and she seems to be going nowhere with the company she works for after nearly twenty years of faithful service. Her whole life seems to be stuck in a rut. Madison has fought back as best she could. She’s joined a gym, lost weight in all the right places, bought some newer, sexier clothes, and she’s recently splurged on a full day spa treatment for herself—nails, hair, facial; the works. And then, as if Fate has taken a hand, her big chance comes along! She is picked to be the lead accountant on an important audit in far away, storied San Francisco! And heading up the audit team is the rakishly handsome Dex; a young VP from the home office that has the reputation as being a dashing Don Juan-type who leaves a trail of compromised, but very satisfied women behind. Will Madison be the next one to succumb to his charms? Read Cheating and find out…
I think Ms. Ralston has lost her way. This book had potential after the first cheat, but the lead couple didn’t evolve their relationship. Sure there was ‘some’ interesting sex, but really nothing more.
There were a few passages of marital insights from mother to daughter, but no solutions (ie. the Mum told the daughter, once the daughter discovered the Mum was cheating, that yes marital sex is boring after 20 yrs - Duh!). To make this book relevant, shouldn’t the Mum have some insight into how to keep the sexual side of marriage interesting? Particularly after she’s had 3 affairs?
If you’re interested in a lot of affairs and sex, plus descriptions of San Francisco and the Bahamas, this is a good book. If you’re looking for character growth and some intriguing sexual situations, I’d read something else.
So why a 3? The book is well written, but that’s about it.
A wife starts to cheat on an assignment in San Francisco after 20 years of marriage. She takes on two more lovers over time, while her husband also cheats. This is well written with some fascinating twists. Recommended
