When Blaine receives an S.O.S. call from his ex-girlfriend's mother, he heads to Colombia to find Fabiana. Caught in a drug war between two cartels, the Blackmore team is in way over their heads. In a last-ditch effort, they pull out all the stops, but will it be enough?
I was a little confused in beginning; felt I had missed some information on characters. I got more comfortable as the story progressed, and I realized other series would later explain who was from where and when. Enjoyable read; enough personal interactions to meld you interests. intrigued with the political affiliations and the law enforcement interaction. I see the story being a prelude to more investigations and more action will prevail as we move along. There is some comedic situations and a little heartbreak weaved in . Over all I am looking forward to reading more from Carolina Mac. I hope she can keep me entertained as does Remington Kane
First time reading anything by this author. I was almost hooked from the first few pages. Her ability to write a down to earth adventure complete with great characters, intense scenes, suspense and action packed scenarios. Can't wait to begin the second book of the Blackmore series in addition to read other series.
This is not a book 1 of a series it’s a follow on from 2 different series which is a shame. I liked Annie in the Regulators but in these new books her true colors come to lite for the sneaky cheating bitch she really is and it makes a frustrating read. I like Blaine though he is well written character though not very funny or fun, I hope he catches a break.
This book is every bit as good as the QI series. It's a follow on from QI and starts off after book 13. With Blacky in charge of the investigative side which is now called the Blackmore Agency they are off on a new case. There are complications in the Jessie and Annie relationship but this is not surprising with Race on the scene.
This book had lots of twists and turns in it. I found it to be quite the page turner. Never knew what was gonna happen next, but was sad with how it ended.
Really enjoyed this book! Even though Anne and Race’s relationship irritated me because of the hurt it caused poor Jesse, I look forward to read the other books in this series. I really hope the Jesse finds someone who will be true to him and gets other Anne.
I didn’t care for Blaine’s callousness towards cats and am hoping it was only 1 cat in particular. Hopefully Annie will wake up and give Race the boot.
Murder, drugs, weird people. What more could you want. I enjoyed reading about Blacky, Annie & Jesse. The good part was I did not know who the bad person was except Race.
I am utterly exhausted with the emotional roller coaster this book was. I could not stop reading it and stayed up way later than I should have, and I’m still crying. You must read this book it is worth every minute of your time.
Blurb- When Blaine receives an S.O.S. call from his ex-girlfriend's mother, he heads to Colombia to find Fabiana. Caught in a drug war between two cartels, the Blackmore team is in way over their heads. In a last-ditch effort, they pull out all the stops, but will it be enough?
My verdict- The title and the cover is catchy and well apt for the book. The narrating style is extremely hooking. The portrayal of the scenes are gripping and breathtakingly exposed. The characterization is up to mark. The plot is gripping and never lacked my attention anywhere in the middle. Finished it on one go. Completely was engrossed and hooked with the pages of the book. The genre of the book interests me specifically. Scenes are being narrated perfectly. Covered each and every aspect smooth and justified all eras. A super satisfying read. Would definitely recommend this book personally to everyone in my circle. Loved it to the core. A great and awesome work done by Carolina Mac. Thank you.
I was so sad to come to the end of the Quantrall series....only to find out the story continued with the Blackmore Agency! Yay! Thank you, Carolina. I wasn't ready to say goodbye.
I have never written a negative review, and I'm sure you will wonder why I read all 30 of the series, but I guess I kept hoping things would get better. The stories are actually very good and that's what kept me going. However, the punctuation, proofreading and verb tense slowed me down to the point I would have to re-read portions in order to get the context. A good word processor should have caught all of the punctuation and verb tense errors. There were discrepancies in age from one series to the other, character errors from one paragraph to the next, words totally missing or additional words where it looks like a previous edit was made but all the words weren't deleted. It was very frustrating to say the least.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I enjoyed the characters and the relationships they have. This is the first series I have read from Carolina Mac so I'm sure there is some cross over with the characters. I was still able to pick up and follow the characters mentioned in this book. I like seeing the rough tough guys being men who have integrity and go after justice. I also appreciate the cleanest of the narrative. We get the suggestion of intimacy without the explicitness. I REALLY apprecaite that.
This is full of everything you want to read about. It's non stop action from the beginning through to the end. This involves a family that is well known, down to earth, respected and powerful when they need to be. Carolina Mac is new to me but I will be continuing with this great series and any others she has written!
I wanted to like this book, but, nope. I liked the writing and some of the characters, but the whole set up was just too chaotic. There were like 3 or 4 men in love with one woman. A brain damaged evil man was living with this family made up of blood relatives, foster relatives, exes, etc. Just craziness.
I want to give this book 5 stars; however, it so reminded me of a soap opera I just couldn't. The storyline was good. Also, when I started the book, I didn't realize that there was a whole other series preceding it. I was a little lost the whole time. Now I have to decide to read the next in this series or start the other whole long series.
A pretty good story with interesting characters told in an intro manner.
The story was very complex with all the various characters and the storyline, but in the end the story ended ok but there will be more stories to come.
You really do need to read the prior series that contains Quantral in order For the book to make sense at first as the characters are continuous from the prior series
