They say everything worth having is worth fighting for and nothing comes easy. What u go through in life doesn’t define you, it’s how u go through it!!!

Life has a way of showing you that you are harder than you give yourself credit for and Melody was about to find that out for herself. Already down on her luck and living in her own personal hell, she was shown that before things would get better they had to get worst. Only for Melody, they would get a whole lot worst. With her back against the wall she runs to her first love, music, for the escape that only it could bring her. After one life changing song selection at karaoke, Melody feels like her luck is finally changing for the better and decides to focus solely on her way out. What she didn’t expect was for happily ever after to come to such an abrupt end. In a world dominated by men, Melody realizes that the top is overcrowded and there isn’t much room left for her.

Rap legend, Shocka never took no for an answer. Hailing from the streets left him with the mind frame that anything was attainable if he set his sights on it. With the streets behind him and a baby on the way, his focus should remain in his music but Shocka wanted what he wanted. And he wanted Melody in the worse way. Like the perfect lyric over the wrong beat, Melody showed Shocka that even when you see potential in something, that doesn’t mean it’ll go the way you plan it.

Sharing a love for music isn’t enough for the pair, as one soars to the top of the charts and the other is left clawing their way back from the past they escaped from. What happens when the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t really a light, but flames threatening to burn everything that you cherished down?

This book here

Omg, Toya Toya Toya girl you have mad talent and I’m not saying that because I love you and you know you my bae but baby this book here only shows it. Melody made me want to jump in the kindle and slap her. I’m glad Shocka’s mama finally did it for me lol. They say a mother always knows she tried to tell Shocka that it was more to her story but he didn’t listen. Poor Melody that poor baby went through the fire for real. I’ve read your catalog and this book here is definitely different which only showcases your talent as an author. You are able to write whatever but many will be able to relate to Melody. The feeling that the world is literally against you and when you feel like giving up, you find your purpose. Shocka was her savior. Everybody that did Melody wrong got theirs and Devout especially lol. My emotions were all over the place. This book is a must read. Love you chick and your work.

Greatness

OMG Latoya that was amazing I couldn't put my kindle down until I finished. Melody had been through so much pain in her life that she figured that was normal living for her. Every time someone step to her it was to hurt her or break her down even more and it started with the person who was suppose to love her the most until she meet Shocka. Shocka was her saviour her protector who taught her how to fight and stand up for herself and rescued her daughter from her terrible mother who had her locked away like a animal and the man who raped her. I was glad they meet their demise especially her mother for the way she treated her daughter and grand day how could you not believe your daughter when she comes to you and tell you she was raped. I really enjoyed reading this because it touched some events that happened in my life as a teen.

This Book Is Good Love...I Enjoyed It❤❤

Melody's life and the things she went through was pure torture. She had the worst mammy in the whole world and I'm glad that Shocka dealt with her and Vee nasty self. Melody was so naive with trusting Devout to get her a fair contract when she didn't even know him. He did her wrong on so many levels. It was so hilarious how Excellence turned Devout out and how Devout's life ended up being. I was glad when Shocka gave Melody the tools to stand up for herself and become stronger and when she couldn't, Shocka had her back 100%. I'm still here like how the Beeno going to go against the grain with Shocka for Jill by biting the hand that was feeding him. I'm glad that they got their HEA.

Why?

I am really confused and disappointed with the direction of this book. Melody never really grew past being the victim . I wanted her to became her own hero instead being saved by Shocka .

I wish counseling played a role in her story . She went through so much sexual , physical , and even mental trauma (abuse) by basically everybody in her life . In the story it was just crazy how often she was sexually assualted or raped.

Shocka and Melody's relationship/ situationship happened really fast , and made no sense. Their connection was not really developed and it didn't seem believable that they fell in love that quickly.

Would not recommend but I would read future releases .

Ok

Decent novel, I gave it 3 stars because I can't stand how people blame all bad things to GOD, like it is his fault that people make the choices that they make. We want the right to make the choices that we want then get mad and blame him when something bad happens, then turn right around and ask for help from the very POWER we just talked mad crap about and condemned for other people's actions. It was a messed up life that Melody lived. Not once did she call on GOD for strength or help or a thanks when things did look up she only blamed him when something bad happens and that's the problem with this world.

Through The Fire

Latoya Nicole did that. Man this book was beautiful. Melody been through hell and back but she made it through the flames with so much more. Her mother was foul for what she did. Devout took advantage of Melody and got exactly what he was looking for. Jill should have held on to Shocka a little while longer instead of counting him out. She didn't care about him or their son. Lavonte Sr, did Shocka and his mother wrong. Excellence was an okay guy. He just wanted to live his truth. Beano let his jealousy get in his way. Shocka is bae. He loved Melanie and stopped at nothing to protect her.

Nobody tells a story like LaToya!! Great standalone. Melody was a classic example of a woman coming into her own. She was so naive and gullible until she met Shocks, that taught her to love and stand up for herself. Story bought so many emotions....from laughter to tears!! The author has a thing for strong ( take no mess) mother figures for all her Crazy (take no prisoners) male leads and as 50+ woman, love every series!! Need to get the Moms together for a story!! Knew I wouldn’t be disappointed and I wasn’t!!

TTF

This was a story of inner strength and faith. Melody was dealt a bad hand time after time again. It was like no matter how hard she tried something or someone brought her back to square one. Shocka was a go getter and very determined to leave that street stuff alone for the sake of his son. When the two met it was like a ying and yang situation. Im happy that Melody finally got her happy after ever after enduring so much pain. I’m glad she found that in Shocka. Everybody got their karma and I do mean EVERYBODY. A few grammatical errors. But not many.

You did that Latoya!!!

As always this is another 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read..... I related to this story in more ways than one!!! One thing I learned when God keeps you in the fire it isn't to burn you or to make your life he'll it's to strengthen you for when he delivers you!!! Melody got her deliverance in the end....Shocka was the chosen one for her and she was chosen for him!!! Loved this story!!!

Banger Alert

Man this book had me emotional Lol. I hated everything that Melody had to go through. But I’m so happy she got her happy ending with Shocka. This book shows how even the weakest can make it through the fire when they have the best support system. It wasn’t easy and took some bumps and bruising along the way, but Melody proved how God works and gives the toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.

Hold ya pearls!!!

I have read many of your books and they have  made me laugh, happy, and sometimes feel like i was about that life.but if you are going through an exceptionally difficult period and could use a dose of hope this is the book to read.melody went through the fire, rains, storms in every way, but through it all she didn't give up thanks to a wonderful support team that taught her how to fight battles within the strength that lies in her. Good job Latoya Nicole....

Nahhh..!

Nahhhhh Latoya.,!!!! You could’ve came better than this.,!! I love EVERYYYYY book you have written. But this one was not good at all. The story line was bomb asf. But the characters didn’t do it for me. Shooka was disrespectful and flip flopping. He was much sweeter to Melody before they got together. Like he was too young and was always running away. He didn’t treat Melody right., knowing all that shit she have been through!!

Goodness LaToya Nicole!!! I thought Addicted to his Pain took me through but nooo Through The Fire had my emotions going through it. I'm talking about a non stop emotional roller coaster. It was a great storyline and I loved it. The drama, laughter and twists were the perfect combination for a good read. ❤❤❤

This book has so many emotions coming out... I wanted to fight, I cried and laughed. Melody went through so much from the people that she never did anything too. She was sweet and loyal but it was never enough. But when Shocka came along and became her friend and gave her the strength, you felt her shine. I loved Shocka's gangsta for real.. he wasn't letting nobody hurt his family. Glad they got Melanie and Melody had the baby!!! Another great one!!!

Who's there for Melody?

Another 5* hit from one of my favorite authors. Melody really had been through the fire. She has been through more than what any young person should have to endure. Because of this it caused her to put her trust in the wrong people. Her momma failed her and the system failed her so who can she trust. There are some parts that will make you laugh but this is also a very emotional read.

Wow

I'm speechless I cannot mother can be that cruel. Then for to constantly go through patches hurted my soul. After everything she went through she deserves all the love and fame she got. The Fact that shocka took time although impatient time he stuck it out with her, even while fighting his own battles. This was an outstanding read. I loved from the beginning to end. Great Read

Lawd i laughed i cried. Melody went through so much. Devout got just what he deserved . Melody came out really weak in this book but the more i read it understood. Shocka was a God send. He gave her what she needed and that was tough love . Through all their trials and tribulations they made it.

Excellent read

Another great book by a great author. This book was well written. I laughed and cried throughout the book. I even cried at the ending. Melody had endured a lot and was scared to the point where she was lost within herself. But thanks to Shocka she found herself and courage to take up herself. I definitely recommend reading

Awesome!!!

This one will have you crying one minute and laughing the next. One minute I felt sorry for her and then I was like she is so stupid, but I remembered times when I couldn't tell people how I really felt cause I didn't want to hurt their feelings, but pain is a great motivator. She walked through that fire and reaped the rewards. Exceptionally well done.

Loved it

This book brought me to tears a few times. I can definitely relate to being a victim and questioning God. This testimony Melody had was awesome and gave me the faith to wait for my breakthrough. This was a very inspiring book even if it wasn’t meant to be. I have definitely moved this author to my favorite list and as always I was very satisfied by the story!

Awesome Read!!

Another 5 ⭐️ read by an amazing and talented author. I am always impressed with the depths of LaToya’s talent. I wanted to strangle Melody’s mom from the very beginning. How are you going to go against your child for a trifling behind man? Shocks was the true definition of a true man and I just love the relationship that he and Melody shared.

It’s crazy how many times she been raped but she was able to find love with shooka. He knew everything about her and loved her through her flaws and weaknesses. I’m happy the people that hurt melody got what they deserved. It reminds me of some stuff in my life. God will never put more than you can bear . I love this book it’s amazing

Good read

Okay so in the beginning Melody REALLY erked my nerves. I just couldn't believe how gullible she was. The way Devout tried her pissed me off. He got everything that he deserve. Shocka handled his business hands down. I love the relationship between him and Melody. I was glad they were able to work out their differences and be a family in the end.
