Charli - My life has been a mess since the day my father died. I’ve been beaten and abused, day in and day out until I ran. I ran as far as I could and never looked back. I was a broken shell of myself. Until the sexy, broody man at Micky’s bar came in and saved me.
Xander - She’s like nothing I’d ever seen before with those baby blues and dark hair. She is captivating and sexy and hell. I’m going to make her mine. Only, a good girl like that shouldn’t be messing around with a guy like me. I’m the black sheep, my life is dangerous, unpredictable and wild. She should stay away. Far, far, away.
I bravely told my girly girl cousin that I’d go shopping with her for a new party outfit and I was sat in changing room upon changing room with Xander and Charlie for company. I’ve loved this series but the difference in this story was fantastic. We met Xander in book 2 and he was a very secretive character and I want to pat myself on my back that my thoughts were either underground fighting or had fallen in with a bad crowd - I’m glad underground fighting won as that was a great read! I loved their love story. They were a cute couple and they had great moments together! I’m glad we got to meet coach (small part of me wants Anne to write us a love story for coach after all this series is done!) It was a quick, addictive read that filled a Saturday morning that would normally be my definition of hell and I thank Anne for saving me from lunacy. I can’t wait to read Tank’s story which I’ve been waiting for since I finished book 1.
Hockey and MMA collide in this sexy and captivating sports romance by Sheridan Anne. I loved Xander and Charli's story and their chemistry was off the charts. I can't wait to read more about the Kings of Denver!
Xander's dad is hell bent on him being in the NHL, just like he was when he was younger. At the age of eleven his father took him to a gym and left him with a personal trainer every evening after school to train to become the best hockey player he could be and if he didn't he could kiss his trust fund and family goodbye. Too bad that's not Xander's dream, Xander's dream is to become a professional MMA fighter and those two things don't go together. In fact if Xander was caught fighting he'd be kicked off the hockey team. But as Xander has been training for hockey since he was a young boy, he's also been training to be a fighter. His father pulls some strings and he ends up on the Denver Dragons team his senior year in college. He also continues to train to fight and he starts fighting in the Underground curcuit as well.
Charli is on the run from an abusive step-mother and trying to stand on her own two feet; which is hard with no money, no job and nowhere to live. After an altercation on the streets of Denver in the very early hours one morning, she runs to Micky's bar and bangs on the door. Luckily for her Micky has a daughter of his own and wants nothing more than to help Charli, because he hopes someone would do the same for his daughter if she needed help. He sets her up with a job and allows her to stay in the apartment above the bar. She dreams of owning her own hair salon one day and Micky decides that he is going to help point her in the right direction for that as well.
When these two see each other for the first time, Xander knows he wants Charli and he definitely wants her for more than one night. Will they be able to make it together with the secrets they both have? Will Xander's fighting in the underground put Charli in danger? Or will her own past come back to haunt her? Grab this awesome book today to find out!!!!

>Book Review – Xander >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 3rd in the Kings of Denver series and ends in an HEA. Zander is a new member of the Dragons hockey team and the college. He is really good at hockey, something his father has been forcing him in to playing since he was 9 years old. Xander really wants to fight in MMA, though, and trains for MMA in secret, even in college. >This story repeats parts of the story where Xander appeared in Jaxon’s book. Xander’s behavior and appearance is explained as Xander performs in an underground and illegal MMA fighting ring. I don’t know how physically he can work out, go to class, play a full hockey game and then go fight, all in the same day. >Charli’s backstory is so sad. Her dad is dead and her step mom is abusive to her. Charli finally runs away and bar owner, Micky, comes to her rescue. Xander feels a connection to Charli and saves her a few times from her step mom and a dirty MMA fighter obsessed with her. The way the Dragon’s and the coach rally around Xander as his secret is revealed is nice to see. I loved the connection between Charli and Xander as they get together and fall for each other. >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. Once again, editing seems to be done solely using spell check (to, instead of too, were, instead of we’re). Reading through the book out loud would have caught a lot of the mistakes. For such an awesome book, I feel sad that not enough care was given to it.
The third book in the Kings of Denver book, and I was really looking forward to this book. Xander is quite mysterious in the previous book and I couldn’t wait to see what Xander was hiding. Great reading – I loved the main characters and the appearances of the characters of the previous books. Both Xander and Charli have had difficulties, because of their parents and their expectations of the lives of their children. Charli and Xander are working to achieve their own dreams and goals in life and their relationship to one another just strengthens them. I loved that this story took a different direction than the previous books, it fit the characters so well. I also loved the personal growth that Xander and Charli undergo. The story is well developed which gave it a great flow and enjoyable to read. It was also great to finally get to know Micky, the owner of the Dragons' go-to place for after-game celebrations. I received an Advanced Readers copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Charli ran away from home only to find herself at Micky's bar. The owner helping her get her life on track. She's bartending to pay him back. When the hockey team comes in after a big win, she's immediately drawn to Xander and he claims her at first sight. Even though Xander is a hockey player, he moonlights as an underground fighter. Hockey has never been his passion, but MMA is. Charli and Xander have quite the adventure, going to hockey and fights, Charli trying to learn everything she can to make her dream come true. This book is a roller coaster. It has everything, the crazy stepmom and even crazier hockey parents, drugs, sex, and an MMA opponent that will do anything to win, including kidnapping, and a hero that will do whatever necessary to keep his girl safe. I was anxious to read this one, as Miller and Jaxson were so good. This one takes the cake. Hope you love the Kings of Denver series as much as I do.

Unfortunately this was another book which I would have happily DNF’d if it wasn’t for the fact that I needed to complete it for my reading challenge.
College romances are always hit and miss with me, and when there isn’t enough character development I always find the MC’s immature and slightly ridiculous. I also struggle to get my head around the fact that someone who is barely legal and who has zero life experience can somehow be this worldly dominating protector of a man who is a force to be reckoned with and who is a complete stallion of a beast in the bedroom 🙄🥱 Wake me up when you’ve grown a beard, mate!
However, what I found really uncomfortable was the the fact that every man that the FMC came into contact with (with the exception of Xander) was some sort of predator who wanted to sexually assault her. It was unnecessary and frankly absurd.
Every Kings of Denver books keeps getting better and better with every story. I knew before even reading Xander’s story that it was going to be a good one from how mysterious he was when he was mentioned throughout Jaxson story. I loved how strong Charli was from the start leaving her mom and then end up in the famous Micky’s Bar that The Dragons always end up in. Xander knew from just looking at Charli that she was something special even beyond something sexual. Charli finds out Xander secret and is asked to keep it to herself to help save his hockey team, and that’s were they start to get closer and then the rest is history. I love Xander and Charli’s love connection it is perfect, and I just love their relationship. I can’t wait to read what’s next
3 stars for Xander and Charli. Another Denver King Hockey / MMA sport story. I liked the idea of that story really much and dove in right after Miller (book 1 in the series). While the story was promising I missed the emotional bond to the main characters. I felt like reading stats and facts. I still miss the feeling that the characters fall in love with each other and why was Xander the outsider in the team and then he pulled that stunts and wham bham all are besties.... There was a situation with a guard dog that just guelarded one moment and turned into a lapdog 5 seconds later. For no reason. So I just read through the book with a biiiiiiiig pause in between. Not sure yet I will try to follow that series further. 🤷🏼♀️
Xander and Charli’s book is another amazing read. We have several surprises in this book that I didn’t see coming. We learn how Xander and Charli come to be in Denver and how their meeting is the best thing to happen to them. We still get to read about the other Dragons and their girls. I love the way Charli grows as a person, once she gets away from her evil stepmom. She had to deal with some tough stuff, but once she leaves, her life turns around. Xander is hiding something from his Dragon teammates and his dad. What happens when it comes out? No spoilers, so grab your copy and be ready to find another new bbf.
Good new adult romance of two people, from opposite sides of the tracks, making it on their own. Xander's father has his life planned out for him to succeed to the NHL and isn't above using his money to make Xander toe the line. Xander has the talent, but not the heart for it. Charli has grown up with a drug addicted, abusive stepmother and almost ends up on the streets.
I loved their drive to work hard to achieve their dreams on their own and not just settle for what hands they were dealt. Some of the story was a little cheesy, but still worth reading.

If there were two people dealt a crap hand by fate, it was Charli and Xander. Charli, courtesy of her abusive, drunken step-mother, and Xander from his wealthy, controlling, micro-managing parents. Really, if anyone deserved a helping hand from destiny, it's these two. Enter Sheridan Anne. She has found a way to lay out the storyline and events in Charli and Xander's lives and seemingly given destiny a helping hand. The plot will twist and turn, you have the good guys and villains, you have emotional fears and angst. Then in the end, you have the hard earned HEA. Congratulations

Yet another great book from this series. Love this team of ice hockey players and the mischief they keep getting up to. This books main character Charli is an amazing chick that has dealt a hard hand in life. Like the other books in this series this book has great steamy scenes, sports hotness. With this book having the extra touch of hot AF MMA fighting. It’s well written and easy to read, the book flows so well and has great twists - you honestly won’t want to put it down until the very end. Overall a great sports romance. Can’t wait to read rest of this series.
I originally first read about Xander and Charli in the Rebels Advocate Series. Xander was an up and coming MMA fighter, champion. Charli was his fiance, who owned her own hair salon. Super cute couple. In this book we get to learn everything about who they are, how they met, and fell in love. Originally Xander started out as an excellent hockey player on his was to the NHL. Only that wasn't his dream. Becoming an MMA fighter was. It was great reading the back story and watching him follow his own path and not the one his father had set for him. I loved how hard he fell for Charli and gave her, her dreams. Adorable 💑 couple.
We have met Xander in previous Kings of Denver book but here we get his story
He is a wonderful hockey player but what he really wants to be is a MMA fighter How he crams hockey, fighting and school is a work of art. He meets Charli who has run away after been abused by her step mother. The relationship between these two is steamy hot. When he has to step in and save her from not only her step mother but a obsessive MMA fighter it takes there life in a new direction The relationship between these two and between Xander and his team i what makes this book so special
Super cute college sports romance with opposites attract.
Charli is the absolute sweetest. She has been dealt such a rough hand in life and continues to have the worst luck but luckily Xander is there to save her every step of the way.
Xander is the black sheep of the hockey team, never letting any one in but the moment his eyes land is on Charli, he can’t help but be drawn to her.
These two together are dynamite, I loved their relationship. The bad boy with a secret and the sweet girl with a tragic past, what’s not to love.
Xander and Charli are perfect for each other. I like the development of their characters, particularly how they have dreams and goals and that they are striving to achieve those. I like that the story is not just about their attraction for each other. The steamy sex did not hurt but the background story on Xander’s “job” added excitement to the plot. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
Good quick read but at the same time just meh. There is a lack of development. Feels a little rushed with some pointless things. The only thing I don’t like with the writing is.... it seems the author is from somewhere outside of the US but she is writing about characters in the US so there is terminology used that people in the US don’t use. I also don’t love the lack of character descriptions.
Holy cow!!! This book was so amazing and kept me turning pages and devouring it within hours. Sheridan Anne has a wicked way with her characters and let me just say the chemistry between Chari and Xander makes me want to find a guy like Xander.
The hockey player who wants to do MMA fighting and the girl who wants to have her own salon who would have thought these two would make it the way they did. I loved this story from bringing to end and cant wait to read more!!!!
I'm loving this series... but I started wit Jaxon... kinda hating his manwhoring ways but adore Cassie's brothers. Wil read them after. So I missed Miller's story, wil b coming to it at my last read 4this series. This is a well written addition to the series. I loved Charli and Xander's characters. They're perfect for each other. The author does a great job building both the characters and story line and moving the story quickly and smoothly. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

The third book in the Kings of Denver series it is Charli and Xander's story was one once started it I was not stopping for anything. I would recommend this book as well as this series. I know I will be rereading these books. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It s good book and what i liked the most is that the hero and the heroine had each other back . Charli wasn't superficial and has a deep personaly and was xander comforter . xander was sexy MMA fighter with a personality og gold. Even if he comes from money ,he was humble and never looked down on charli. Cute couple .
Another great book. I am so happy that I got to re-read this book...cannot tell if it is 4th or 5th time and every time I absolutly loved. Xader is giving Miller serious competions in this series for the title of favourite male character. And I totally loved Charli and how she became this beatiful and strong woman.
This book has an amazing story. The Characters are great. The development is realistic. But a few plot strings where to much and some where never tied up properly, which takes a bit from the enjoyment in my opinion. But otherwise really great and a must read for every sport romance lover out there.
