Blurb:
The last thing I need right now is a rogue vampire using me in his sick, twisted games. He wants to kill me. I can see it in his dead eyes. He craves it and he won’t stop until I'm dead.

How did I end up here? How did I get so lucky? Just the idea of becoming vampire fodder… ugh, no thanks.

All I wanted was to graduate my senior year at The Guard Academy, put in the hard work and come out on top. Sure, I probably would have slept my way through classes and held the best damn parties this campus has ever seen. It would have been magical… until he showed up.

Why oh why can I only give 5*, this book deserves so much more.
I’m a huge fan of vampire academy, Buffy and vampire Diaries. If you are too, then you don’t want to miss this book.
Bianca is the 17 yr old training to take on the supernaturals in this amazing novel. She is a spectacular, kick as character that takes no nonsense . The kind of heroine I’d like my daughter to grow up with.
Her best friend is Jacinta. These two give you many laughs throughout the novel. There’s one scene in particular with an ass biting that made me laugh so hard!
Daniel and Trey, the girls friends/boyfriends, provide a bit of romance.
Then there’s Rylan.......... Bianca’s hotter than hell
Combat instructor. Trust me when I say, if I could have reached through the kindle and licked him, I totally would have. 😂
Of course Bianca totally falls for the unattainable Rylan, but hell, so did I!!!!

“Soul and Disaster” is sexual tension, super sexy, exciting and supernatural amazeballs all rolled into one
I for one cannot wait for the next instalment.

So friggin excited for this series!

Btw, if you get a chance, check out the playlist. It rocks! Especially, the Veronicas song.

Destruct is a funny and cheeky book that I really enjoyed reading.

Bianca is full of spunk and starting her senior year at The Guard Academy alongside her best friend Jacinta. I love the friendship between them and the banter between the girls and their fellow male friends Daniel and Trey.

Bianca is plagued with the memory of watching her father be murdered by a vampire and is determined to become a member of the Front Line of the Guard. Bianca's character comes leaps and bounds throughout the book and I love the fire within her. She stands up for her friends and doesn't cower to anyone.

I'm typically not a fan of high school romances but this one was actually really good with a touch of the forbidden in there as well as Bianca finds herself falling for her Combat Training instructor, Rylan.

The only thing that took away from reading this cheeky romance was the number of typos. If this book were polished just a bit more it most likely would have been a five star read for me.

Happy release day for Soul & Disaster! I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Going into this book, I was aware it probably wasn’t going to be my usual genre. This is definitely more YA romance/paranormal and I’m an adult fantasy reader. I do enjoy a YA guilty pleasure piece every once in a while, though. The author definitely knows how to write a fast paced novel. I went in more interested in the Slayer Academy, as I’ve always loved things including Slayers and Vampires. I wish a little more of the focus was on the academy and less on the romance, but that’s just me and it’s not my novel.

One thing that truly disappointed me, was while our main character is made out to be a badass, there’s more of a focus on her looks than anything. I fully believe a woman can be beautiful, strong, and smart... but I like to see more focus on the latter two than the former. There was a moment where the main character was also told to cover up her bikini while in front of male characters because it was asking for trouble. That just made me cringe and it sends a bad message to the likely audience of this book, teenage girls. Telling girls that males not being able to control their gazes or action is THEIR bodies’ fault is something we shouldn’t perpetuate.

Also, the villain of the story was talked about the entire time and taken out in two seconds.

That being said, if you want a paranormal/YA romance, you’ll likely enjoy this. I am curious where the story will go and will read the next installment to see how things progress.

I received an ARC for this book to willingly review by the author.

What a ride!

I enjoyed this book so much I can’t wait for more! While I would have liked a bit more of the “supernatural” aspect, I found that what there was, was also not a bad thing.

I love all of the characters, I thought our heroine was sassy, spunky and has such a witty personality you can’t help but love her. Our love interest, well what can I say, we all love a good brooding, alpha male. And all the others complement the main characters so well yet stand out all on their own in a unique way that the author did a great job in how she’s developed them all. The progression of the characters in their development and growth was steady and you truly felt and saw their journey play out so the growth was very clear. Same goes for the plot. Very steady and with the added twists and investment in the story emotionally was well worth the ride.

The world building was good, like I said I could have used a bit more of the supernatural aspect otherwise it was still good. Definitely some twists I didn’t see coming. Some truly heartbreaking moments as well as some roll your eyes so hard they get stuck in the back of your head moments and definitely some humour which was a treat.

If you are a fan of supernatural/paranormal stories will a heartfelt funny romance this is the book for you. Full of drama, action, adventure and romance why wouldn’t you pick this up?

I honestly didn’t expect this book to capture my heart as much as it did! It was freaking amazing!!

Bianca is a feisty girl training in her last year to become a soldier in the fight against supernaturals. She has a temper that gets her into trouble. A heart that causes her to hide a terrible secret so the ones she loves can cope with the loss of her father without worrying about her. Her friends Jacinta, Trey, and Daniel are as loyal as friends can be and try to reel her in so she doesn’t get into too much trouble. Being 18 comes with a whole lot of drama. Boys, drama, graduating. Not to mention a good looking combat instructor that is strictly off limits.

This book literally had me laughing out loud so much, but also I cried a little towards the end. There’s also adventure and battles. And so much more.

I definitely recommend this story and can’t wait for the second one to come out!! A must read.

When I first started reading this book, I expected much more from the author. She gave a good introduction to the character, Bianca, but within 3 chapters, I could predict how the book would end. If I were a tween or teenager, I might like the book, especially if I had a crush on one of my teachers. There was little character growth, and the story emphasized how teenagers let their emotions control their lives, giving them taciturn approval that breaking rules is OK. After the 10th chapter, I had to force myself to finish the book in order to give it a full review, but came away even more disappointed.

Unless the author can do something to help the characters in the book mature, I wouldn't waste my time reading the next one in the series.

This book sucked me in right from the start. What an amazing read. While reading, I found that Soul and Disaster has a medley of buffy the vampire slayer, The Vampire Academy series and a bit of the Hives Trilogy books that i love.

Bianca wants to become a guardian but needs to prove herself to all the boys being the only girl in her final year in combat class. Between her full schedule of combat training and school, falling for her teacher, her shenanigans with her BFF Lucy and friends Trey and Daniel, you can't help to fall in love with this story and all these wonderful characters like i did. Grab this gem, sit back and enjoy your read!

I received an ARC for an honest review.
Interesting take on the whole Fae World thing though that part is more of a back story. Bianca is a 17yr old training to become a guard against all things Fae, Were and Vamp. She and her friends come across as quite young and naive as they go through their journey of the senior year in school. It was hard to get into for the first half of the book as the girls come across as annoying and self centred but i guess that is part of being young. This is primarily a young adult forbidden love story between Biance and her trainer. It will do well in that genre.

Real rating: 3.5/5

Thoughts with side commentary:

🦇 Firstly, I'd thank the author for providing me with the a free copy which does not affect my opinion
🦇 I love Trey and Daniel😂 Especially Daniel
🦇 I really enjoyed this book but my main issue and the reason I rated it so low, is that literally nothing "exciting" happened for at least 60% of the book. It was literally her going about her school day dealing with teenage issues and obsessing over her hot instructor and there was only one "major" action scene
🦇 However, this is my first time (that I know of) reading something from this genre so it may be a "normal" thing
🦇 I would still read the sequel though

I loved this story it was action packed and chuckle worthy it’s about Bianca who is training to be a guardian the best there is just like her daddy she has loyal friends Jacinta, Daniel and Trey there is also a bully called Nora who deserves whatever she gets and Bianca’s new combat instructor Rylan who is forbidden but Bianca just can’t help herself. But Bianca is a female in a male dominant profession she is a kick butt type of girl and goes for what she wants. An entertaining story and I enjoyed it immensely and I can’t wait to see what book 2 brings and I highly recommend this book.

I had is such high hopes for this book, unfortunately it felt like the book was written by a first time writer (and not in a good way). I do love the cover, the idea of the badass heroine and academy setting but that was about it.

It feels like I’m reading the story of a 13 year old instead of an 18 year old YA story. The love story is too obvious, the main character is ignorant and too naive for words that it is not believable anymore and it annoys me. Just too many “eye roll moments” for me.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book, I had read Sheridan Anne's Kings of Denver and Denver Royality books, but this is a totally different genre and has a totally different feel to the book, and I guess what I loved it. I lost sleep over this book, because I just kept reading and totally forgot how late it was. I loved the world and the characters that Sheridan Anne developed; Bianca is the kind of girl we all wanted to be in school, loveable, feisty with a rebellious streak that gets her into trouble time and time again. She is pretty without being snobby about it. She could basically have any boy at school, but she falls hard for her new instructor, Rylan. Rylan is not only good looking, but basically a legend in the community that protects people from supernatural creatures like vampires and werewolves. This is one high school crush that has no future – or does it?? I loved it and will be reading the next book in the series when I have some time to get lost in a book.

Slayer Academy

Very ya, academy, sort of pnr. In this world there are normal humans; pnr vampires, werewolves, etc; and a group known as slayers. That group polices pnr bad guys and our heroine is in an academy training to learn her skills. These are 17 year olds in the beginning going to their senior year and they really act a lot younger. The FMC is obnoxious and angst driven while trying to prove she's cut out for this role. There is emotional drama every other page and of course she falls for her instructor instead of the boy who loves her. That boy then dates the class bully just to get the bully to leave them alone. Kissing is prevalent as are bad jokes and stupid ideas. It's hard to believe that these characters have all grown up in this culture but are only now learning how to fight properly and fire a weapon? Oh a vampire does play an evil undercurrent role, but that's really it for the paranormal aspect.

Destruct is a YA fantasy book about a 17 year old girl called Bianca, who goes to school at the Guard Academy, she’s training to fight on the front line against supernaturals (Vampires, Werewolves and Faeries).

Having dealt with a traumatising situation as a young child, she has been determined to succeed ever since and to protect humans as a result. Having said this, training at the academy can sometimes be a problem because her instructor has her all hot and bothered under the collar ;).

Overall, I really enjoyed the book. I feel that Sheridan Anne really knows how to deliver an amazing, well rounded story. That makes you want to read on and devour the rest of the series. The characters are likeable and realistic, I especially like her best friend Jacinta, and her blossoming relationships are lovely to read.

Can't get enough

I love that this author doesn't make the Female Lead into a petulant "I'm a badass bitch, hear me roar" character.
She makes her badass, and humble, and she allows the character to grow into confidence and truly hones her fighting capability.
Shes intelligent, and calm, and thinks through things and isn't reckless.
The love interest, Rylan, is amazing! Hes a badass in his own rite, he's humble, he's intelligent, he is protective, and he's respectful of not only her-but makes sure to maintain respectful in their situation and makes sure not to cross thresholds that could ruin her future.
He's every girls dream
I just wish there was an epilog or a bonus scene or two! Like when he proposes, or when they get married, or when they find out she's pregnant or on their missions together. I'd love more of these two!

Sheridan Anne’s first book in her Guard Trilogy, Destruct, introduces us to Bianca. As part of an elite group of seniors, she is the only female able to train for a place in the Guard, where she will protect others from supernatural evil.

What I enjoyed most about this YA novel, was Bianca and her friends attitudes. They were loyal as the changes that happen to teenagers affect each of them. With a traumatic loss in her past, Bianca has a goal to make sure others do not suffer as she did.

Add the handsome instructor of her, and our, dreams, and romantic thoughts start flying.

Treat yourself to reading a book that brings back those teenage memories, and enjoy Bianca’s kick-ass attitude!

It is Bianca's senior year at the Guard Academy, her last year of training and studies before graduating and hopefully being sent out to the front lines in the ongoing war with the supernaturals. Being the only girl to qualify for combat training, she must let go of her "party animal alter ego" and focus on being stronger and faster and build up her stamina if she wants to keep up with the boys in her training class who are bigger and stronger than little Miss Bianca. This is a clean romance with a growing forbidden romance between Bianca and her combat instructor. Just lots of kissing and petting. A very entertaining book.

This is a new to me author and I must say that Sheridan has done a great job!
This story is young adult but Bianca seems to be more mature than most and so there are some adult themes as well as helping her get through turning 18 and falling for the man she isn't allowed to! Bianca is the only girl in combat training and nearly spirals out of control due to a bad run and this could cause some problems with her future and with completing her training but she has a great instructor who is willing to help her if she wants it!
There was a lot of drama and intrigue and I could not put this book down. I am not off to read book 2 and see what happens!
This is my honest and unbiased review.

I loved the way the author introduced us to these characters. Each one is fun with some being more complex than others. There are the usual teenage bullies and teenage angst. But there's also an underlying mystery that abounds in the storyline. The author slowly reveals more and more of this mystery as the story plays out while maintaining the basic storyline which is very interesting just by itself. Well written and very entertaining.

I think the book cover got to me. I expected this badass female. Instead, I got a 17/18 year old twit. All she could think about was going through combat training and becoming a guard knowing that she was smaller and weaker than the men, but not once did she ever do anything to strengthen herself in preparation? Heck, she didn’t even know where the gym was! There were some other things, too, but for some reason, this one bothered me the most.

Sheridan Anne

I thought this was great. I loved Bianca as a lead character. She was awesome. I loved that her new instructor kicked her into gear, and part of it was impressing him that made her want to be better. I love that competition brings things out in us. Her friends were great. I cannot wait to get into the next book.
