This is a fabulous read for a lunch break! Ms Cundy takes us back to the day before the most important battle of the Warrior Queen's life. Bound by tradition and the blood of her ancestors, she must decide. She trusts no one but the goddess as she focuses on the battle ahead. Fabulous! This would make a great intro to a longer novel.

I found the narration and perspective shifts disorienting, so didn't fully get to appreciate the story as it happened. Very jumbled, something about a woman taking a lover..? Maybe the style's just not one for me.
