Cross the bridge to the spring, and wish your heart’s desire…Caitlyn O’Brien left for Brazil in the aftermath of a heartbreaking loss. As much as she loves her husband, he can’t help her with the grief and disappointment that plague her life in Dublin. When she discovers that St. Clare’s charity mission, in Manaus, Brazil, needs a primary school teacher, she takes the opportunity to bury herself in missionary work, as her dreams of being a mother slowly vanish.Following in his father’s footsteps, Patrick O’Brien is an officer with the Dublin Garda. After his wife’s tragic miscarriage and unexpected departure to Brazil, he is left to wander the streets of Dublin alone, feeling the absence of his mate as keenly as the loss of his child. But one late evening stroll changes everything, and Patrick begins his own journey that starts with a cry in the night. Two continents, one couple, and the tangled vines that keep them together. Can the motley crew of St. Clare’s, and the enduring loyalty of the O’Brien clan, join forces to transform the impossible into the miraculous?***This novel contains adult content of a sensual nature and some profanity. It is not recommended for anyone under the age of 18.

Get your tissues ready! I love this series, so I was expecting this book to be no different and it was just as great as the others. It may have had me in tears a bit more, but I cry at the drop of a hat, and they were happy and sad tears. I have found many things in each of the O'Brien Tales that I can personally relate to and this one is no different. I hate spoilers, so I can't explain it all, but if you have read the previous books, I have a bit in common with Caitlyn. I read this book in one sitting on a plane and the people sitting near me must have wondered why I was constantly staring out the window and sniffling.
If you like romance, family dynamics, a good cry, some suspense, and a lot of great characters, pick up The Wishing Bridge and make sure you read them all if you haven't yet!
Another wonderfully touching, heartfelt story by author Stacey Reynolds. She knows how to make you bawl, laugh, and feel. Would absolutely recommend this book (and all the others in the series as well!!!)!
I didn’t read this latest O’Brien tale immediately when it was released. I’m not sure why, no reason really. I had a huge stack of “to be read” books but one day decided to go ahead and read this one before tackling my stack. Now that I’ve finished it, I hated that I waited so long. It did take me a little longer to get into this one, but once I did, I didn’t want to lay it down. I wanted to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next and it did not disappoint. Get your tissues ready towards the end because it will move you to tears, happy tears. Or at least it did me. Excellent novel of hardship, struggle, love and selflessness. Well done!
I mean, I ugly cried through this beautifully written story, reliving my own loss, and infertility issues. I can't say any other words except, Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful and beautiful belief of second chances.
Oh Stacey Reynolds does it again! I am addicted to this series. She is such an incredible author and i haven’t been able to put down any of her books. ❤️
This is the best book I have read in a while. Ten days ago I discovered The O'Brien Tales. Each better than the last.
This book has it all: adventure, heartache, laughter, tears, love, and finally joy. Patrick and Caitlyn suffered so much heartache. It was a difficult journey for them, and for their families who couldn't fix things for them. The intertwined stories brought so much to this book, moving the O'Brien family forward and Caitlyn and Patrick toward the healing the needed.
I loved this book so much that I immediately read it again after I finished it. Looking forward to so much more from this author.
This whole series had me blubbering like a newborn! I loved everything and going to Ireland is on my bucket lidt. Thank you for your wonderful story telling.
Love love love!!! Emotional heart wrenching and sweet to read about such a loving family and the beautiful Emerald Isle
I believe this may be my favorite in the O‘Brien series. So many emotions from this story, some laughs, tears, sadness, anger, pride, and loads of love all wrapped up in this one book. Oh, and lots of traveling from here to there and back again, WOW. Thank you Stacey for the stories of the O’Brien family, there is some much love, faith and support for each other in the O’Brien clan and the extended family. By the way, I read it in 1 day, now I must put down the book, step away, and get some work done. Looking forward to the next O’Brien saga. The prequel “No Borders: An O’Brien Tale”. Keep’em coming!
Another phenomenal O’Brien story. Beyond the romance and love of family that this series shares in every book, there’s always a surprise change in each books plot. In the past we had military, politics, first responders, PTSD, and so on. This time the author gives us a loss so great, so deep, I felt actual pain in my womb. She brings to light the loss of a child, surviving it, healing from it and moving forward. Stacy Reynolds took us into Caitlyn’s heart and mind, her self blame, anger, defeat, and took us along the road to that recovery. As with every O’Brien tale, I’ve learned something new, and to me, that makes for a fantastic read, entertainment AND knowledge! Well done!!

This is one of my favorites in the O'Brien series. This tale of losing a child three times is heart wrenching, then running away to grieve and realizing she is stronger than she thought is heart warming and compassion filled. Caitlyn and Patrick have a wonderful bond and enough love to share and nurture their new family. This tale is second only to the Raven of the Sea.
The O’Brien series by Stacey Reynolds is wonderful. The stories are well thought out and merge together giving us updates on characters from previous books, which I love. The only thing that makes me wonder is why there are spelling errors. They were more frequent in the early books, but are now less than three.
Fabulous story lines and characters. I will be sad when I come to the end of the series.
Wow-another book in this series,#5 -and I think they just keep getting better and better. Could be because you get to know the families and friends in Ireland, Brazil, and in the US. A lot of characters do don’t start here -read in order if you can! Caitlin O’Brien wants a family so badly but it doesn’t seem to be in this family overflowing with children! And adoption seems out of the question for her… or is it?
I love all of the lovely stories that you intertwine in each wonderful book.
You are such a very gifted writer. Please keep them coming. I'm 70, almost 71, but I'm ready for an O'Brien myself! Oh my.. Its very difficult to put your books down.. I so wish that I had had such a big, wonderful, family as the O'Briens., Based on love as any family should be.
I was very happy to see we were getting Patrick and Caitlyn's story. I love this series! I have cried with and for all the O'Brien clan. I fallen in love with them all. I can't wait to read Sasha's story as I'm sure it will be just as much an emotional rollercoaster as her family's stories were. Thank you for sharing your story
This one really grabs you by the heartstrings. I thought Stacey wrote the characters of Caytlin and Patrick so well, I didn't find myself halfway in love with Patrick. He's a winner for sure but his love story with Caytlin is so solid, we the readers don't stand a chance. We are happy to root for the couple, the kids and even magic.
Wonderful characters who are dealing with the personal challenges of being soldiers, police officers and those who are left behind. All told thru the beautiful Irish landscape and the relationship of close Irish family. At time funny, heartbreaking, sexy, you will not want to put it down.
Another fabulous story. After suffering 3 miscarriages and almost loosing my son and seeing a OBG every 20 days during my pregnancy I felt Caitlyns pain anger and frustration. But often the dads get forgotten when pregnancy issues occur. Stacey pulled it together and as Caitlyn and Patrick find their way back to each other and discover you font have to give birth to love a child and beca parent. Again lots of laughs and tears through this journey
Reading The O'Brien Takes by Stacey Reynolds is like spending a week with all your extended family. You laugh with them and cry with them and live through all their ups and downs. They are your brothers and sisters of the heart. She has created this world that has something for everyone whether you need it or not.
This family has so much love ,and loss to deal with.I cried so much, reading about everything Patrick & Caitlyn went through.I can't get enough of this big, amazing famiy!Keep this series going,Please!!
Love reading about the continuing saga of the O'Brien family. Loose ends were tied up in book 5 , so be warned you need to read the first 4 books first. Can't wait for the Prequel coming next!
Heartbreaking losses overcome by love and family. I like getting to know the new members of the expanding O'Brien clan and how she brings them in and out of the stories like getting to see old get. I am really looking forward to the next book set in Belfast
Wow, just wow! The author pulls you, literally into the story, such wonderful characters, taking on real life challenges....only downside was that it had to end... REALLY look forward to Stacey Reynolds' next book!
