What an amazing story with DI Lorne Warner as she investigates gruesome murders, torture, and dismembering of several men who work at building sites! While the investigation is exhausting, we also see romance, love and the wonder of relying on the Team, even if they are not right beside you. Having a good relationship with others in her profession allows Lorne to ask for assistance and take ideas from near and far.
I do believe this is the best story so far, as all the characters are so three dimensional I can actually see whats happening right in front of me as i read with my breathe held. The author's ability to bring our friends from other series into the action is a tremendous asset, as this whole investigation becomes widespread across many areas.
I did receive an ARC of this story from the author, MA Comley, who I enthusiastically thank and from which I can put my words in this review! If you enjoy suspense, action and feeling the story as you read, start reading this authors' books, your world will change...

DI Lorne Warner and her team are investigating the horrendous torture and dismembering of a young man. He was found in an empty warehouse with no identity.

And this is not the only murder they are going to be looking at. The only thing that ties them all together .. other than dismemberment ... is the fact they all worked for companies who are building new houses. Warner comes across one prime suspect .. this man has worked for several of these companies and accidents seem to follow him around.

So are these murders the doing of a competitive business? A disgruntled employee? Or is Warner on the wrong track altogether?

As with all the author's books in this series, it is well-written with a seamless blending of the professional with the personal lives of the characters. There are plenty of surprises to keep the reader's interest.

As the 17th in this series, this one does well as a stand-alone. This is one series that I'd like to go back and start with Book 1 and sit back and have a Lorne Warner read-athon.

Many thanks to the author for the advanced digital copy of this crime fiction. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Another fab book featuring DI Lorne Warner and her team. After a real hard hitting first chapter featuring the torture and murder of a man, it's impossible to put this book down. Several more murders occur, all men with connections to the building trade. Lorne and her team work tirelessly to solve the case. Just as you feel you've worked out who the murderer is, your ideas are blown out of the water. Truly didn't see that one coming!
This series just gets better and better.

What a rather apt title this is, as the "justice " being enacted by the killer was unnecessarily cruel and nasty and certainly immoral.

This is another excellent addition into this series, I found myself scratching my head as to how DI Lorne Warner was going to solve this case, on what appeared to be very little information and a rising body count.

In some ways this reminded me of earlier books in the series especially after direct threats from the killer, which had me incredibly worried for and her family, but how justified that worry is, well you need to read the book.

It was good to see Lorne's sister Jade had a storyline for the first time in a while, always nice to catch up with the rest of the family, in addition to the team of detectives determined to put this serial killer behind bars.

This is a quick book to read, that I didn't want to put down at any point. Full of progression both in attempting to solve the case but also of longer running series wide storylines, this is a book that probably could be read as a standalone but having read all 17 books in the Justice series so far, it is hard to me to be completely sure. Having read the series up to this point, I am amazed at how much ground is covered and find it really easy to pick up the next book the second its available, and jump straight back into the characters lives.

Suffice to say if you haven't read anything by this fabulous author, or in this thrilling series you are missing out. I can't wait for the next book!

Thank you to M.A. Comley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

The author certainly knows how to start off a story that ensures her readers will be well and truly gripped. The opening certainly had everything that I would expect and hope for in a crime book and it gives us a taster of just what we can look forward to in the rest of the story.

The case that Lorne and her team find themselves working on holds lots of nasty surprises. I was as intrigued as they were as to the who and why's. It turns into a race against time for them to solve the case before the death toll goes into double figures. Got to say though, I do love a crime book when it has a high body count!

Not only does Lorna have a lot going on in her work life, she also has a lot going on in her personal life. I like how the author incorporates real life issues that affects a lot of us. It just made me love Lorne even more how she tries to juggle everything in her life and her ever undying strength and out look on life that would put many of us to shame.

Immoral Justice is a fast paced, page turner of a read that had me hooked from start to finish. There are plenty of twists and turns as the case progresses, keeping the reader on their toes and ensuring a thrilling reading experience. Great addition to the series.

My thanks to the author for an advanced readers coy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

An absolutely fantastic read with brilliant characters.  I love Lorne and her team. I love Mels books. Always full of action. I didn't like Mrs McPartland. I really felt for Lorne.  I also felt for jade lornes sister. Bought tears to my eyes. I had no idea who the killer was. Looking forward to next part  5*. Highly recommended.

Well its taken me a long time but I have finally caught up on the Justice Seried by MA Comley.  It was well worth the wait.
The book has a lot of family issues tied into the case that they are working on at the same time.
One of my favourite aspects of this author is her writing of the emotional scenes about the family life of her main characters.
She is adept at making things easier to follow when it comes to the family and she shows such compassion in her writing.
I was much more interested in the family items in this book then I was the actual case.  That's not saying the case wasn't gripping but when you read about a character for such a long period of time you feel like you are one of the family and it is the main character that matters most.
Jade has come back into this book with her family which i liked a lot as i can't recall seeing her in many of the last number of books.
Carol is always a treat to see in any of the books as i always love her personality and how she handles issues.  She is always a bright spot in the books she is in.
I would love to see more of Charlie as she has an interesting past in the books and i love how she has grown throughout the books into the person you see now.  It would be wonderful to see more of her as well.
This book was definitely really amazing and i think that this series has gotten better over the years.  Each character has grown exponentially and it's nice to see that it hasn't become stagnant.
Wonderful job with this novel and the series. Can't wait to see what you do next.

Whenever I start another book in this series, I always wonder how M A Comley can keep up with the fantastic story lines which we have become accustomed to but yet again she has surpassed herself with this book.
It starts as it means to go on and has all the makings of a great thriller. DI Lorne Warner and DS Katy Foster start with investigating the torture and murder of a worker on a building site. There are no clues as to why, which again leaves Lorne and her team working their magic to find the killer.
I started this book in the morning and expected to read a couple of chapters but I shouldn’t have because yet again I was still reading at lunchtime and finished just after.
Thank you M A Comley for another fantastic page turner. I really don’t know how you do it, I just know that I love your work. Another 5* from me.

I feel like I run out of different ways to say the same thing with this series and with this author’s books in general because the simple truth is they are ALL so BRILLIANT! If you have read any books by Mel Comley then make sure you get caught up and if you haven’t read any books by her yet then settle down with book 1 of each series and prepare not to see light of day for a while!!

Another great read in The Justice Series, mutilated bodies are turning up and the only connection seems to be building sites, but who is committing these crimes and why ? Lorne and her team have certainly got their work cut out.

Oh Wow, what an amazing book Immoral Justice is! We welcome back DI Lorne Warner and her team as they tackle a case that gives them very little to go on and leaves them very frustrated. Then Lorne receives a threatening call from the killer, telling her to back off, this just makes her more determined then ever but the killer then raises the stakes when she doesn't back down.....

This was another fantastic read from the start. I was hooked from the beginning and read it in one sitting as it was unputdownable! One of the best series around that I have found!

I am a massive fan of this series and I’m always excited when I find that the author is releasing a new book with Lorne as the lead and read them as soon as they arrive on my Kindle!

This book was excellent, very well written as I have come to expect and I loved the plot line. This is a bit more gruesome than some of the others in the series so it won’t for everyone, but I loved it – it gave Lorne and her team the opportunity to deal with a hard hitting case and allowed them to shine.

This is yet another great addition to this series and I am really looking forward to what the author releases next!!

Five stars from me – very highly recommended!!

This author has done it again and written a corker of a book! I love the Justice series and they just keep on getting better. DI Lorne Warner and her team have brutal murders to solve and have absolutely no idea how to solve them! What I like most in these books is that the author works in the normal day to day events and problems of everyday life. I had no idea who the killer was, which makes these even more enjoyable. If you are looking for a new series to read, then look no further than the Justice series, I highly recommend it.

Just when you think that, by now, this author must have pretty much exhausted all the motives for murder available, up she pops and delivers another slam dunk original concept. The motive for this one was especially intriguing and to be honest, quite scary when the whole truth was out.
So there's this dismembered corpse who looks like he's been through a lot before eventually getting what, to him, would have been the release of death. He carries no identification so, Lorne and her team's first job is to identify who he was. Eventually they track him down as a labourer on a new-house build site. Then another corpse is found, again with ties to the construction industry. Lorne and her team must really up their game as they try and piece it all together. No mean feat as Lorne is then personally targeted. If that wasn't enough for her to handle, someone close to her has some really bad news. Can Lorne keep it all together, balance personal and professional, in order to get to the truth and bring the victims some Justice?
Oh my! This book was brilliant from start to finish. Being a bit of a fan of this series I pretty much consider the cast as friends and so I feel everything they feel. And boy did I go through the emotional wringer with this book. But, before anyone mentions personal life overshadowing investigation, most of the personal is connected to the investigation and what isn't just adds to the ongoing character development you need in a series which has been going on for as long as this one has. Keeps it real and indeed fresh. Keeps the emotional connection with the main characters which series books should get from their readers.
Sadly, I'm not as inventive as the author as, after reading and reviewing pretty much all the books she has written, I am almost all out of original things to say. I've already mentioned some of the characters but the rest of them are all well drawn as usual, plotting is tight, there is no superfluous padding and the story gets on with itself very well. Banter is, as always, quality!
All in all, another brilliant addition to one of my favourite series. Roll on the next one!

Such a diva.

As usual Lorne is her super hero self, pushing fifty and getting snogged in her office by her boss, who she had a relationship with, nearly half a century prior. It wasn't the kiss I found uncomfortable, it was her reaction behaving like a defiled virgin.
The Lorne of earlier books would have said 'WTF' and more than likely slapped his face. Is menopause lurking about.
A series of accidents and murders occur on a number of building sites at Canary Wharf. A lack of forensics or evidence of any kind leaves the team frustrated & desperate for a clue. Be careful what you wish for, another murder info relating to a hit & run and a partial number plate gives the case a slight nudge.
Lorne's warned off investing the case, and finds out that lemme assistant, Carol has been kidnapped and Christie the kennel manager has been attacked before the kennels are set on fire. Sheba the family dog was beaten and has run off.
Add to this sister, Jade has a cancer scare and Lorne is hit on the face with a shovel - yes I did laugh!
Needless to say more lines are given to Lorne's nose repair, she loves her new beak - than Jade's operation to 're!i've a cancerylu!p from her breast.
Am determined to finish this series of books, but am really disappointed how the series started off 5*, and has declined badly over the past few novels.

My eyes burned into the pages...I couldn't put this down..

When Maurice Barrett ,a carpenter is found brutally murdered...DI Lorne Warner and DS Katy Foster are assigned to the case..They cannot understand how the victim was so brutally tortured before dying in a warehouse...As the days turn to weeks ..more bodies are being found..Then Lorne receives her first warning to leave the case alone....Lorne being Lorne ignores the warning ..and danger is at her door...This time Lorne listens to the stranger at the end of the phone .As she tries desperately to make a decision ..Lorne will do anything for those she loves....her dogs, her husband ,daughter , friends and team are her life...Putting herself on a path of the unknown though ...is a dangerous , dangerous thing...The team are closing in on this Evil...Lorne also has heartbreak closer to home...Will Lorne catch a killer?....I was riveted...from the very first chapter...For me Cruel Justice had always been my favourite by this author....but Immoral Justice....leads you into a labyrinth....of murder...shock ...and twists......Brilliant ...dark..and Shocking....

DI Lorne Warner and DS Katy Foster are back on a new case. A young man has been found tortured in an empty warehouse.
Lorne and Katy ask the team to do their best to find out who this man is.
Another man has also been killed. Lorne & Katy find themselves visiting a a new homes building site. The owner explains that there are accidents on site at times. There’s heavy machinery involved in building homes.
The story continues and Lorne is struggling to find a lead.
Loved to hear of her calling on Hero, a detective in Manchester, for advice. Hero is another fantastic series, by the same author.
I won’t ruin the rest of this fantastic unputdownable story, but have to say, the ending was brilliant!

I never tire of the Justice series as each book brings more thrilling cases for DI Lorne Warner and her team to solve. This case started with a tortured corpse being found in an empty warehouse. With few clues as to the reason for the murder, it was an arduous task.

During their investigations they are notified of another murder connected to a new-build housing complex. During that visit the foreman informs her of previous accidents on the site. Due to the investigating team’s close working relationship and knowledge they piece the clues together.

There is also the family background stories interspersed with the crime investigation which kept me reading long into the night. Another brilliant book

Just when I think this author has written her best work she goes and proves me wrong!!!
What a beginning to this book, gory gut churning details included. Certainly not for the faint hearted but that's what makes this author's work so real because she can incorporate true to life details in her books that are extremely plausible. These murders had Katy and Lorne wondering where to start but after a lot of frustration and hard work with the team, they finally found a pattern emerging, which enabled them to see light at the end of the tunnel. This Justice series just goes from strength to strength and I for one am so glad that the characters' voices continue to be heard. Well done on a gripping thriller.

Another fantastic book in the Justice series with Lorne and team of detectives investigating the disappearance of a man who has gone missing after a visit to the local pub after work. As the investigation deepens, more gory murders are discovered and they all seem to be linked to construction sites.

Once again I love reading about the wonderful character’s personal lives, and in Immortal justice, Lorne is dealing with some personal issues in her family as well as the murderer threatening her family and beloved kennels.

This incredibly hard working author seems to come up with amazing storylines like no other author I know of, much to her many fans delight ..... keep them coming Mel Comley.

O…..M……G that prologue!!!!!!! Put it like this, if you’re remotely squeamish, this book is not for you!!!! Even I winced as I read!!

Immoral Justice is set against a backdrop of the thriving building trade. Who’d have thought it would be so cutthroat until the bodies start turning up! Lorne and Katy have their work cut out as they hunt for the killer. Each clue they find leads them around the houses. But then it becomes personal!!

MA Comley has added yet another cracking fast paced investigation to the Justice series. I clicked through the pages unable to decide who to point the proverbial finger at! The twists and turns kept me glued to my kindle following the team as they track their killer.

I have some catching up to do with this brilliant series, but I couldn't resist reading this latest book in the series. For me, it worked well as a standalone. A very different plot which involved accidents and murder on building sites in London. DI Lorne Warner and her DS Katy Foster, a character I love. begin with investigating the gruesome murder and torture of a building site worker. The horrific killing leaves no clue as to why. I raced through this book as I had to know who and why these incidents were happening. The intrigue and suspense was nerve wracking. A brilliant series!

Immoral Justice is book 17 in the Justice Series and what an absolutely fabulous series it is to read!! The series literally just keeps getting better just when you think it can’t, from start to book 17 this series is exciting, nerve wracking and gripping.
D.I Lorne has an early call to a scene of a gruesome torture/ murder scene.
With all they have to start with is a dismembered body, can Lorne and her team find the missing pieces of the puzzle to solve this case.... this book will definitely have you gripped from the start and keep you that way until the end.

Lorne is back in this fantastic, edge-of-your-seat thriller by Mel Comley. Compared to the others in the series, I thought this one was quite gruesome with a couple of scenes that made me wince. The action is fast-paced throughout with many twists and turns.
This series just gets better and better. Love the characters, they're so realistic, and after reading all 17 books now, it's like meeting old friends. Really enjoyed this one!! Kept me guessing till the end.

Oooh this is def the best! Gritty & murderous. Lorne & her team get to grips with what’s going on when the 1st body turns up. Things get darker for them & too close to home.
A good deep story of jealousy & desperation.
We get more of Lornes life in here too. The human side to a good officers life. Giving the characters a filling out & keeping them real, great to read & want them to succeed.
Can’t get enough!

A touchy feeling book

My heart goes out to the people whom are diagnosed with any type of cancer. Family support is the best to have around. Lauren is best at how she works and this one puzzled me as well. A clue she let slip was that she told was her rescue shelter for dogs and ending up going after her people if she didn't comply with the murders request. But she paid a price of her nose and still came put on top. I really enjoyed this book.

Immoral Justice

Have just finished this 17th book by M A Volley and enjoyed it but felt like the ending could have been more detailed. It seemed like it was all done in a rush as if the author wanted to finish it off quickly which was disappointing. I love the series of the DI Lorne Warner books and am looking forward to reading the next one.
