YOU CAN BE DIFFERENT. YOU CAN DEVELOP YOUR ABILITIES TO THE FULLEST. BUT ONLY IF YOU ARE MOTIVATED TO PAY THE PRICE.
Every person has a brain and a nervous system and is, therefore, endowed with great mental capacities. Few of them, however, use and develop their natural abilities sufficiently to reach the many goals they could achieve. Most people simply aren’t willing to pay the price: the effort behind learning the art of motivation with a positive mental attitude.
Set high goals. Turn your dreams into reality. Follow the principles in this guide. Just remember, you have unlimited potential. Convert it into power and use it. Become successful and stay that way!
W. Clement Stone and Napoleon Hill came together in 1952 to make a change. Stone added his Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) concept to Hill s principles, resulting in the classic book, Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude. The two men spent the next ten years writing and lecturing about the story of success through PMA. Their formula was to become the foundation for virtually all modern motivational writing.
This book isn´t actually written by W. Clement Stone himself. I thought so when I started reading. No it is written by people who read his works and others and they are telling you about Stones ideas. The idea here is to act positively, that you can achieve what you long for. This book tells you how to do it. Reading this can never be a waste of time.
Anyway this is a good book if you have never read any book like this in your life. There are many good authors available in this manner; Napoleon Hill, Norman Vincent Peale, Robert Collier, Ernest Holmes, Orison Swett Marden. Christian D. Larson and Florence Shinn to name a few.
A well written book on this genre, with principles clearly explained, to the point. The scenarios/examples that Stone uses could be monotonous at times. Nevertheless, it’s a good work by all means. It turns out to be that Stone and Napoleon hill worked on 17 principles that could be helpful to improve our lives for good. The underlying principle seems to be having a positive mental attitude, upon which rest of the principles are structured upon. They all go hand in hand, each complimenting one other. The way Stone puts across these principles for reader’s digest is simple, yet profound. I felt really intrigued reading first portion of the book, an intro to each of the principles. However, dwelling deeper on, the interest level just dropped off, simply because of the fact that Stone tries to get into scenarios/examples to justify his principles, which was clearly explained earlier. For some reason, the examples that are used here seemed off course, clearly failing to connect with me. And I really hate when these examples are structured in such a way that there is a lot of information (figures, names, businesses, years to name a few) which in my opinion is jarring. And hence my rating with an average to good, but nothing more. The fact that this work comes from Napoleon Hill foundation is only enough to pick the book up and give a try.
Napoleon Hill Foundation could've done better. This is clearly a compilation of thoughts of different people within that group simply because of the disorganized and diffused way the paragraphs are stringed together. It is a book that I wish would end soon. Yes, I could have stopped myself, but I can't. So, word to the OCDs out there: DON'T START READING THIS because you would want to finish it, and it's a pain to do so.
Very good book. Hill keep on mentioning about the most important principles you can do to be successful. Amazing book to read and so far, no wonder why all his publications reached all time fame.
In his book, Believe and Achieve, author W. Clement Stone teaches us how to reach our goals and be successful in all that we do. Although many of the examples used throughout this book are dated, the concepts and processes are timeless and proven.
I recommend this book to anyone who is serious about achieving goals and becoming successful in their endeavors and are "wiling to pay the price" to achieve what you want in life.
Use a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA), follow the 17 Principles of Success, and make the necessary sacrifices to learn and practice the art of motivation. Stone says, "Do It Now!" I agree. Do it and achieve what you believe.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars - read this in college for a psyc class and it changed my life. My favorite "self-help" book of all time, it is the principles of success for business/life/happiness. Awesome.
A real eye-opener!!!! I wish I had read this earlier in my career... so much to read and apply. Awestruck!!!!! All this knowledge... surging while I was growing up... now: going to read and analyze, and apply the knowledge as soon as possible.
