really pleasantly surprised that this does, indeed, live up to all the hype. it achieved just the right balance of sweet + quirky + self-deprecating + wry + kind for me, and felt authentic and true from beginning to end.
This was a funny, amusing and very enjoyable manga, best suited for Japanese learners and students trying to live by themselves in Japan. Oya-san reminded me of a landlord I used to have while living in Mexico, she is adorably crazy!
