USA Today bestselling author Jane Blythe writes action-packed romantic suspense and military romance featuring protective heroes and heroines who are survivors. One of Jane's most popular series includes Prey Security, part of Susan Stoker's OPERATION ALPHA world! Writing in that world alongside authors such as Janie Crouch and Riley Edwards has been a blast, and she looks forward to bringing more books to this genre, both within and outside of Stoker's world. When Jane isn't binge-reading she's counting down to Christmas and adding to her 200+ teddy bear collection!
They used to have everything, until the horror that stole their most precious dreams. FBI Agent Chloe Luckman and Fin Patrick’s love imploded and for the past year, they have avoided each other, both hurt, both feeling abandoned, but now, a monster on the loose will force them together, once again.
Leave it to Jane Blythe to create a holiday tale that is as chilling as it is heartwarming.
CHRISTMAS CAPTIVE has the grit and terror of a serial killer, a monster who tortures his victims slowly. There is also an opportunity for two souls to at least clear the air over the love they lost and the pain they feel. Is it possible to bring justice to the broken victims and reclaim the love this FBI Agent lost? Is Fin ready to let go of the past to start over? Can he risk his heart again? What if Chloe walks out again?
Once again, Jane Blythe deftly details gruesome scenes then injects the very human side of life as two people are presented with the opportunity for a second chance at love. Perhaps not always the cheeriest holiday read, but proof that in a world filled with evil, there can be hope!

I love that Jane Blythe gets to the nitty gritty, captivating theme early.
Taylor had been missing for nineteen months before she managed to escape and end up at the hospital.
Special Agent Chloe Luckman is on the case…and because her ex boyfriend found Taylor on the side of the road, she will have to deal with him too. While in the hospital, trying to talk to Taylor, who begins to panic, in walks Fin. He is the only one Taylor will cling to. Dr. Eric Abbott is on the case too. Chloe is well aware of his beside manner. They had both suffered the loss of a child.
Could she have a second chance with Fin? I love second chance stories. I love watching the characters work through their issues and come out the other side happy and whole.
Chloe loves Christmas time. She loves wearing funny clothes, ugly sweaters and her favorite reindeer hat. Christmas tree slipper boots…what fun.
Chloe and her partner, Tom, thought they knew who took Taylor, they just needed her confirmation. And she gave it.
The physical and psychological torture The Breaker foists on his victims is unimaginably horrific. …stuff like this happens in real life and I will never understand it. It angers and disgusts me. At 75% I saw this coming, but Jane Blythe strung me along on some twists and turns that only added to my anticipation, surprise and sadness the way it came about.
I loved the book and highly recommend it. Jane Blythe’s books usually rate a 5 from me, so why the 4? The characters are great, deep and flawed, just the way I like them. But, for some reason, my mind wandered in a couple of places. That rarely happens with Jane’s stories, usually they have my undivided attention. Was it me?
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Christmas Hostage by Jane Blythe.
This is one author that is not afraid to go to the extreme. This was another second chance at love after a tragic event drove them apart. The bad guy is totally cray cray!! A quick Christmas suspense with a happy ending.
Wow! Book 2 of tbe series and its even betternthan the first one.
This ine centers around a doctor called Finn and an FBI agent called Chloe. The main characters make this story and you can really relate to them and their emotions.
Wow, I thought book 1 was epic but this book blew it out of the water. I was hooked from cover to cover, turning pages so fast as couldn't look away from what unfolds within. Can't wait to see what the conclusion story brings.
This is 6.5 of the Count to Ten series. This book focuses on Chloe and Fin. Although a short read than the rest of the series, it was a delight in itself. I love how this brought an estranged couple back together and as always the mystery was just as great as the other books. This series is worth reading give it a try!
Book Blurb: The greatest loss a couple can suffer tore them apart.
FBI Agent Chloe Luckman is shocked and dismayed when she finds out that her ex-boyfriend has gotten himself mixed up in a case she's been working. He found a kidnap victim wandering disorientedly at the side of a rode, and now the woman has developed an attachment to him and refuses to co-operate unless he stays. Chloe finds herself surprised that she's jealous to see another woman in the arms of her ex, and wonders whether its possible to reclaim what they once shared.
Fin Patrick is no more pleased to be forced to spend time around Chloe than she is to spend time around him. She broke his heart when she walked away from him and now he's so angry with her that any hope of reconciliation is non-existent
After reading Christmas Hostage I dld not honestly think it was possible for this series to get any better but I was so wrong !!! Although I really shouldn’t be surprised as it’s written by the queen of romantic suspense ( Jane Blythe ) get comfortable and hold on tight as Chloe and Finn are going to take you on the ride of your life . You will smile and laugh and you will ball your eyes out as well , it really is like being on a rollercoaster. Dark , raw , gritty , steamy , twists and turns, second chances , tragedy, angst , humor , heartbreaking, heartfelt, page tuner, wonderfully written characters that are so unique , likable, relatable and multi layered . The truth is that there are no perfect words to express what a phenomenal job Jane has done writing this romantic journey, it’s one you really need to experience for yourself a few seconds ago
What a beautiful read. I absolutely adored Finn and Chloe’s story. It was so heart rendering watching them trying to deal with their pain and grief alone. Every part of me prayed they found their way back to each other. Chloe is such a kickass character. She knows no fear. Her focus is solely on catching the bad guys. I liked her in the first book in this series but watching her get her own happy ever after was beautiful and so heartwarming. Finn is a beautiful character. He’s a healer and unable to save his son and relationship he uses his pain like a shield to protect himself, which is something I can wholeheartedly empathise with. This is a beautiful story of forgiveness and love. Jane Blythe has once again knocked it out of the park. Highly recommend Way more than 5 stars
Tom Drake and Chloe Luckman FBI searching for The Breaker
Exciting book searching for a vicious serial killer who wants to break every bone in a young woman’s body to see if they live . A young girl Taylor Sallow was kidnapped for 19 months but escaped to find a house or person in a car to help her. She finds Dr. Fin Patrick. He takes her to the hospital. The story weaves around Fin and ex wife Chloe and the anger and grief they have over their baby boy ‘s death while Chloe is pregnant. Must read book as Chloe is captured and time for Finding her and Taylor are running low before the Christmas Holidays. Will Fin and FBI find them in time?
Second chances. Chloe is back and this time we get her story with Fin, the father of the baby we learned about in book one. Unfortunately Chloe has had a rough few months including losing the baby, breaking up with Fin, and being harmed. The story focuses on a serial killer thru are trying to catch and being thrust back into close proximity with Fin who is a doctor helping one of the survivors. Danger is present and gets Chloe, Tom, and another FBI character, Savannah. The killer was not too shocking, but the final clue was surprising in the source. The ending was sweet and it was a quick and easy read.
What is with these heroes separating from their significant others!??! Both of these guys were off to me. This couple lost a baby and she felt guilty and so she walked. He was angry at her for walking away but did he stop her? Hell no. Luckily this was only seven months apart and I don't think they dated anyone else or anything but I don't remember it being clarified. Again the mystery was good with the Breaker serial killer and I did enjoy it. I just hate when people split up and not talk to each other. But this was better than the first.

This is the second book in this enjoyable series. Be prepared to be totally ensnared in this books well crafted web and to be filled with overpowering feelings of growing tension and nail-biting suspense. Chloe and Fin's gripping story will squeeze your heart in a vise as these two get a second chance at a HEA amid a background of drama, danger, murder and mystery. I am electing to post a truthful review.
This second book in the Series continues in the group pf people known in the first book and focuses on an other couple but takes up POV‘s of others. Its recommend to start with book 1 before reading. This second chance Christmas novel picks up another loss that could happen to anyone which will keep you reading to find out what happens. You will feel the emotions of the characters while reading. Its a well written story which doesn’t feel like one. It feels real.
Wow! Another intense, dark story. This story is about Chloe and Fin. This is basically a second chance at love story. As always, it's sad in the beginning but just gets intense as we go along. The bad guy was unexpected yet he wasn't. The bad guy was taken care of. So happy that Chloe and Fin are back together so they can work on their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Jane! I would recommend this book!
I really loved this book! I love Chloe! She has so much spirit and her love for everything goofy for Christmas is really cute! Fin is a great character. He’s been abandoned by so many people that my heart hurts for him. The serial killer in this story is a very original and interesting topic. It’s a quick and intriguing read. I received an advance review copy in exchange for an honest review
FBI Agent Chloe has been through a tragic loss and walked away from her boyfriend because she was riddled with guilt. She is trying desperately to get by day to day but she isn’t dealing with her guilt or grief. When her ex, Fin, is drawn into a case of a kidnapped woman, they are forced to spend time together. Chloe wants desperately to have a second chance but Fin, is too hurt and is using his past traumatic experiences to push Chloe away. But when Chloe is put directly in danger, Fin realizes all he stands to lose if he doesn’t forgive.
I really loved a lot about this book. Including the second chance element. Chloe and Fin love each other but can’t seem to fully move forward. I love how after Chloe poured her heart out to Fin and he threw it in her face she decided she was done and needed to work on herself. Chloe is a strong woman but when she finally admitted she needed help it made her character even better. Good read.
I really enjoyed reading this book. This book was full of heartache, mystery, danger, and romance. Very hard to put down. Can't wait to read the next book in this series. Received this book from winning a giveaway.
This is the second book in this great series and is Chloe and Fins story and is even better than the first to me. These two were so great and I really enjoyed reading about and getting to know them. I could not put down at all and just kept wanting more.
1 year later...we a catch up with Special Agent Chloe . This book broke my heart. I left so bad for Chloe and Fin. This was a great thriller with just the right amount of romance in it. I just could not stand Taylor. She kind of got on my nerves.
Fin and Chloe lost a baby and anger and guilt drove them apart. Then a serial killer brought them back together. These characters are so realistic in their thoughts, feelings and motives. As usual a roller coaster ride of emotions.
Ooohhh this book! The way this story started had me gripping my iPad! It was an intense and heart stopping fear wondering what was going to happen. This author knows just how to tell a thriller and describe the killer & their actions in such detail that it actually gets me a little spooked if I’m up at night reading by myself! I also struggled to put the book down because it’s such a fast paced story that I wanted to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next.
This is the second book in the series and if you haven’t started it yet you really should! Its an exciting, gripping and thrilling series that will have you hooked and binge reading!
Took me a bit to get into the story but once it started rolling all the plot twists were just enough to throw shade on the villain. This is a second chance romance after a tragic loss, so read with care if that might be a trigger for you.
Well another brilliant read by the talented Jane Blythe. This book is a great second -chance romance set around Christmastime. Don't however let that fool you, this is another dark and fast-paced novel from Jane Blythe. Fin and Chloe make a brilliant couple, he is an ER doctor and she is an FBI agent. As always in Jane's books there is a fast paced plot that sucks you in from the beginning. The serial killer in this book is certainly terrifyingly crazy. I had put off reading these Christmas books until nearer the festive period but once I started the series I am obsessed in my aim to read them all as fast as possible. It is great to catch up with the characters from book 1 in the series, this is certainly not your typical whimsical Christmas novel but a great read with the bonus of a christmassy theme. I highly recommend this book and am now going to read the third one in the series.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
FBI Agent Chloe Luckman is shocked and dismayed when she finds out her ex-boyfriend has gotten mixed up in a case shes been working. Chloe finds herself surprised that she's jealous to see another woman in the arms of her ex, and wonders whether its possible to reclaim what they once shard. Fin Patrick is no more pleased to be forced to spend time around Chloe than is to spend time around him. She broke his heart when she walked away from him and now he's so angry with her that any hope of reconciliation is non-existent.
This book does have some dark moments and there is a warning for Triggers...so if you have triggers you might want to skip it. This is the story of Chloe and Fin. These two were the couple that people adored and wanted to be. You could look at them and just know they were meant to be from day one. However life is not always peaches and cream and the just when you think everything is perfect in your world that's when you need to be on the lookout. A tragedy stole these two from each other and the thing that was most precious to them both. it destroyed them. Now Chloe and FBI agent is working a case and runs right into Fin. A woman has been missing for nineteen month but has been able to escape and end up in the hospital. What Chloe doesn't know is that her ex-boyfriend found Taylor and now she will not let him out of her sight. He is the only on that she will let touch her and there is a ton of thing this poor girl has suffered. Now Chloe is stucl being around Finn all the time. Will this give them the time they need to heal and find how they really feel for each other or will it drive them apart? Who is behind the kidnapping and will they be able to catch him.? You have to read to find out. I don't want to give it all away This was a good book and I liked it. It kept me engrossed from beginning to end and that's what makes reading so great.
As with Christmas Hostage, Book 1 in this three part stand-a-lone series, this book picks up in the days leading into another Christmas. We met our main character, FBI Agent Chloe Luckman in Book 1, and again see Tom and Hannah as they move on with their lives together.
Chloe and Fin, our main characters have suffered a personal tragedy that facilitated their parting of ways. There is so much misunderstanding and anger between them that is seems there is no room for a second chance. But, thrown again into each other’s lives when Fin rescues a young lady who seems to be the victim of a serial killer, this might be a chance to finally talk, understand, and forgive.
Let me tell you, I would not want to be a character in Jane Blythe’s books! By her own reckoning she “writes dark and disturbing crime/mystery/suspense with some romance thrown in” and holy hell, there is a lot of disturbed stuff going on in this book. These books are not for the faint of heart, but if you love watching Criminal Minds or any other psychologically disturbing TV series, you’ll find these are perfect for your radar!
We’ve also met Savannah Watson who suffered a potentially debilitating injury at the hands of the perpetrator in this story, and her story is next. I have it already, and I’m getting into it next! 5 Stars!!!
This author certainly knows how to create amazingly evil monsters! In this story I found myself cringing he was so incredible, he wasn’t sexually perverse but boy was he insane. The descriptions have you feeling for his victims and hoping the cavalry arrives in time. All of the descriptions are vivid and detailed in every scene and it’s easy to visualise what unfolds.
The relationship between Special Agent Chloe Luckman and Doctor Fin Patrick is very, very rocky. It was nil and void to begin with but events happened to get them to test the waters. I have to say Fin annoyed me a bit, his yo yo attitude toward Chloe and her actions nearly drove me nuts but he redeemed himself. They both suffered a dreadful trauma though.
The suspense and drama in this story is outstanding and had me on tenterhooks the whole way through with the excitement. The romance is secondary to the suspense and it is a perfect balance. I look forward to reading the third book in this trilogy.
Second one in this amazing series and just has good if not a little better than the first one. I am loving this series. It is full of amazing characters and a mind blowing suspenseful gripping storyline. This one is about FBI Agent Chloe and how she is dealing with the tragedy event that happened in her life. That is intensified when she has to start a case that involves her ex Fin. Fin ends up saving a girl that was kidnapped. Which brings him and Chloe back together. But there is a lot of tension between these two. Will it affect the case? Will it end up putting Chloe in harm's way? I absolutely loved this storyline. It was off the charts full of suspense on who was the kidnapper and what was going to happen next. Jane knows how to write a book that keeps you gripped and engaged in the story. I cant wait to read more from her. Highly recommend this series.
