A perfect little Christmas romance!

Very cute and fluffy but not over the top cutesy romance all about the love for and of Christmas and learning to find yourself again.

I really enjoyed this little story about the perfectionist Jennifer learning that not everything has to always be perfect if something's can just be enjoyable and how john learned to accept the past and move on.
But all of that's happened very naturally and didn't feel rushed or unrealistic.

I loved johns kids and family, they'd certainly brought the entire Christmas setting to life!

All in all this is a perfect Christmas book when you want something uplifting but still realistic!

Highly recommend!

When life presents lemons, learn how to make lemonade. What a cheesy saying but it's rooted in truth. A Christmas To Remember is a dance of love, life and sentiment. Jennifer and John find themselves wrapped in the middle of an uncertain future, yet within that uncertainty lies the best moments of their lives. How do you explain the unexplainable? By making every second count. Everything happens for a reason and although the reasoning is unknown, some things are just meant to be? A Christmas to Remember was meant to be?

This is my first time reading a book written by Rebecca Moesta.

I had watched "A Christmas to Remember" on the Hallmark Channel, so I was anxious to read the book! The story very closely mirrors the movie version.

This novel had all the trimmings and trappings of Christmas - to holiday music on the radio, homemade pies, eggnog, cutting down a tree in the woods, a festive pageant, shopping at the market, a Christmas dance, a tree lighting, chocolate chip snowmen, knitted red mittens, a decorated gingerbread house... and making snow angels - "Our angels touched..." (pg. 152).

"The domestic scene looked pleasant and distantly familiar, like something out of a television show" (pg.67).

This was a bit of a different kind of boy meets girl love story. Girl gets into a car crash and wakes up with amnesia. Boy takes care of girl. Girl already has a boyfriend and another life in New York City. Boy has a family in the small town of North Creek, Colorado.

I like that after the Drake family named Jennifer, "Maggie" (since she couldn't remember her own name), the text changed to Maggie and later... back to "Jennifer" once her memory came back.

I like that even though Jennifer lost her memory, who she was as a culinary artist and decorator came out in little ways: she could create a bologna flower and figure out the secret ingredient to Nancy's gingersnaps, sew an elf costume for Daisy and construct snowflakes out of white paper.

In chapter 15, John and Jennifer go riding on a snowmobile and Jennifer connects the occasion to the song, "Dashing through the snow...O'er the fields we go, laughing all the way." And in the movie version - that song "Jingle Bells" actually plays in the background as they ride through the neighborhood.

Of course, I love the slow burn love story between Jennifer and John. A lot of "will-they-won't-they?" moments. And I enjoyed the romantic descriptions told from the point of view between the two lovebirds.

"She was pretty sure he had the bluest eyes she'd ever seen, and she could swear they were twinkling. Do eyes actually twinkle in real life?" (pg. 113)

"Maggie was so beautiful walking beside him. Statuesque, with an enchanting smile and flowing blonde hair. A snow angel..." (pg. 150).

There is an Epilogue in the book, showing the characters one year later (which the movie version does show!)

My book contains a Hallmark Original Recipe of Holiday Roast Beef with Root Vegetables.

The message of the book: Enjoy the simple magic of Christmas. Be happy now. The difference between Artificial vs. Real. Even in darkness, there are stars.

"It's enough to just be happy now. Just be happy now" (pg. 218).

Is the Book "A Christmas to Remember" better than the Movie version?

Exactly 6 months to Christmas, and I wanted to read a book with plenty of Christmas spirit. This one definitely fit the bill! It was so cute, with plenty of holiday cheer. I haven’t seen the movie this book was based on, but I liked being able to use my imagination to picture the characters and setting rather than going off the movie. Anyway, it was adorable and I can’t wait for Christmas!!! 🎄🎁

If you love Hallmark Christmas movies then this is a must read. It is a feel good book. Jennifer doesn't remember her name or have any memories of her life. John and his kids take her in and start falling for her as she does for their family. As they make new memories she helps heal John's family. I loved the characters in this book and all the Christmas memories in it.

A Christmas To Remember by Rebecca Moesta is a perfectly delightful contemporary Christmas romance. A real treat to be read at any time of year. It is based on a Hallmark movie.
Christmas is a time for memories - old and new- but what happens if you have no memory? The novel shows a search to belong and to discover who we are. It is about finding ourselves and our loved ones.
The effect of the media on our lives is not always for the good. She "believed she needed to be perfect to be loved." What a sad attitude. The media portrays perfection as they see it but it is not real. Life is about being a lovely person on the inside and that will then shine out. Real life is chaotic and messy. We need to be real in all that we do.
An air of love surrounds the novel. Even the reader feels included as hearts and homes are opened wide. "She's lost. We have to help her find her way home." Home is not necessarily a place but the people who love you.
The bustling New York City contrasts with the peaceful, snow covered countryside where neighbours are friends and the pace of life slower. Values are different too as people have time for what is really important.
I really felt myself sink into the novel with its warm' inviting atmosphere. Christmases of my past danced before my eyes as Rebecca Moesta created Christmas in the novel. We need to remember the good times and hold on to our memories because "even in the darkness there are stars."
A really wonderful feel good read that will leave you smiling.
I received this book for free from Net Galley. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

WHAT a cute story!! I was endeared with this one from the first chapter and it STRONGLY reminded me of the movie Overboard (which I loved) except at Christmas time or Regarding Henry except different circumstances. Jennifer is a complete control freak because of insecurities she developed from a relationship gone bad. She's SO GOOD at cooking, decorating and making a home inviting on her show and in real life, but she is overwhelmed for their Christmas special and everything goes wrong as she frantically tries to keep it all in order.

Once she loses her memory, she becomes frustrated only for a little while trying to remember everything but then decides just to enjoy the moment with John and his family. It's a total transformation for her lovely personality and she finally finds joy with them in the unknown and in a small town. It's my favorite time of the year and Moesta describes the town so tangibly, you feel like you're right there with John and Jennifer/Maggie.

It's difficult to pick a favorite character in this book because they're all so great, but LOVED Bunny, Emmett and Dan, John's best friend.

He spread his hands. "What can I say? It's quaint here." "Well, I think it's charming." Maggie said.

It's so wonderful and amusing how Jennifer goes from hating the color green and eggnog to appreciating both! I am such a Hallmark movie fan and this one plays next weekend, can't wait to watch it.

I received a free eARC from the publisher via NetGalley. I was not obligated to write a positive review. The comments and opinions are my own.

Christmas in July. Not just their programming anymore. I adored reading this book from Hallmark Channel.

Jennifer needs time off. What could be better than a getaway in the mountains for Christmas to sort out all her thoughts. Until...an accident leaves her with amnesia with no idea who she is or where she came from.

John Blake is doing his best since becoming a single dad after his wife's death. Then comes along this perfect stranger who doesn't know who she is but still manages to bring the Christmas spirit back into his family's life.

I enjoyed this book. It is appropriate for all readers and if you like it, make sure to watch the Hallmark Channel Original Movie "A Christmas To Remember."

I just don't understand the whole memory loss romance stories. Like isn't it just a little bit creepy... Same thing with the whole magically changed clothes. There is something about a person who has just been in an accident and they wake up in s strangers house in different clothes that just doesn't sit right with me.

Warning, though I try my best to avoid this, all reviews can contain spoilers of some kind. If you would like to know just my overall opinion of the book, and otherwise go into reading it blind, please scroll down to my overall and would I recommend it section.

I Voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

All I want to do after reading this book is decorate my house for Christmas, curl up on the couch with my hubby, and read while sipping some hot tea. If it wasn’t the middle of summer, I would too. This was the first book I have read both from this author, and this publisher and wow what a lovely introduction it was.

Jennifer is big in the food world, we are talking big city TV worthy big, but when you’re serving up the Big Apple’s main dish, the holidays are anything but magical. When Jennifer gets offered a one week Christmas vacation away from the rush, she can’t help but take the offer. Things sure are different in the snow drenched mountains though, and after her car takes an unplanned turn, Jennifer is left wandering the streets missing something very important... her memories. Without so much as a name to her call her own, she finds herself in a very frightening situation. Thankfully a friendly mountain family gives her a place to stay and a temporary name, Maggie.

John is a small town veterinarian, but his real job is saving anything in need. When he comes across a beautiful stray woman wandering around in the middle of the night, he has no choice but bring her home and do whatever he can to help her. Sure he usually works on animals, but an injury is an injury, right? Besides, he wants to show his kids, Kyle, Daisy, and Jamie that the best quality a person can have is a helpful nature. Can his family heal this mysterious woman’s memories as well as his medical knowledge heals her cuts, or will she forever stay the mysterious Maggie?

This has to be one of the most heart warming stories I have ever had the pleasure to dive into. At first, I did not think I would like Jennifer very much. Don’t get me wrong, she is well written from the start, but the soon to be perfectionist star attitude she had wasn’t something I loved on her. However, I adored her once the accident wipes her sad past away taking the persona she uses as a coping mechanism with it. I loved being able to watch the real Jennifer come out through Maggie as she spends time with John and his family. Despite her amnesia, Maggie tries to help and comfort John and his family every time she sees they need it the most.

The turmoil that John and his family goes through is one that a lot of families can relate to. They are all in need of some Christmas cheer, and someone to fill the house with the warmth that makes a home. This was just such an amazing sweet family who all genuinely care. I honestly can’t think of a more loving family. I really like that each member doesn’t pay any attention to what others think of them, doing the best they can for others as well as doing what they love is what’s important to them. Usually, when kids or parents are heavily involved in a romance, they tend to become more secondary characters that either push the couple together or try and pull them apart, but that is not the case with this family. John, his kids, and Maggie/Jennifer are all in this romance together and I loved watching this kind of family love grow between all of them. Seriously, can I just say swoon.

While John is not an alpha male by any means, he is still the white knight kind of guy who likes to be able to take care of both animals and people. He is the kind of man who needs a woman to stand by him, but also one who will run to him. A woman that is more than willing to let him truly help her when she can’t do something on her own is important to him. While she may not know it, finding a man who will let her be herself is very important to Jennifer/Maggie and the way these two are together is just so heart warming.

Throughout the story there are several points that had me falling in love with the characters. All good stories have character growth, but I really liked how in this one Jennifer’s true personality is just allowed to come out through her time being Maggie. The way this family morphs throughout the story put some Christmas hope and love in my summer months, and I’m sure it will add that magical spice to any romance lover’s life too.

As a side note, there is a fantastic recipe at the end of the book. This book lets you feast your eyes on a delicious story and a fantastic meal. Seriously though, it looks so good. Yummy!

Overall:

This is a sweet quick read that’s filled with heart warming moments and special feels. The development and change in the characters is unique in a way that put a smile on my face. Maggie/Jennifer is a well thought out character that really pushes the love and romance level up several notches, while John is a fantastic and caring hero that any woman would love to have.
All this mixed in with the very in-depth way the kids are included in all this love makes for a fantastic story that is not only well worth the read, it is a must try.

Would I Recommend It:

This book gets nothing but a yes from me in the recommendation department. This is a book the whole family can enjoy and will add a warm glow to your spring, summer, fall, or holiday season.

As always, happy reading.

I’m not saying I’m predictable, but give me a snowstorm, an isolated cabin, a mysterious stranger with memory loss, and a charming small-town vet, and I am in. A Christmas to Remember reads exactly like the kind of Hallmark movie you tell yourself you’re too busy to watch and then end up binging while stress-eating holiday cookies. And honestly? No regrets.

Jennifer Wade is a high-powered Martha Stewart type — all polished perfection and big-city energy — until she crashes (literally) into a Colorado snowbank on her way to a borrowed winter cottage. Enter Dr. John Blake, the local widowed vet (because of course), who finds her standing in the road, dazed and with no memory of who she is. His kids promptly nickname her Maggie, and the next thing you know, she’s baking pies, decorating Christmas trees, and slowly falling into a life that might just fit her better than the one she left behind — even if she can’t remember what that life was.

Is it a little outlandish that Maggie can whip up elaborate meals from scratch while not even remembering her name? Oh, absolutely. But if you’re questioning the logic of a Hallmark romance novel, you’re at the wrong party. The whole point is to suspend disbelief and roll around in holiday warmth like you’re making snow angels in fuzzy socks.

There’s light drama with a big-city almost-boyfriend back home (spoiler: we don’t care about Brad), and a blossoming slow-burn with Dr. Blake that gave me all the cozy feels. Add in his kids, who are precocious without being annoying, and a small town that practically jingles when you shake the book, and you’ve got pure comfort.

Could I have used a little more conflict or tension? Sure. Things wrap up neatly, and you’ll see every twist coming from miles away. But that’s part of the charm. This book isn’t here to stress you out — it’s here to wrap you in a blanket, hand you a mug of cocoa, and remind you that sometimes the best gifts are the unexpected ones.

4 stars. Sweet, warm, predictable — and exactly what my brain needed in December. Read with twinkle lights on and cookies in the oven.

A Christmas To Remember was such a heart warming story. I loved John and Jennifer and those kids stole the show.

Rebecca Moesta is a new to me author. I can say with some confidence, that if A Christmas To Remember is any indication of how she writes a story, she won’t be a new author for me much longer.

She brought life to this story. I admit, I have watched the movie, A Christmas To Remember at least a dozen times, and it was so good, but the author took that story and added backgrounds to the characters, she added personalities that you just don’t get to see while watching a movie. The added storyline made it so much more.

In A Christmas To Remember Jennifer Wade, is just trying to get through her Christmas special show, and then hopefully retreat to be alone for the holidays. Ever since she lost her mother, Christmas just doesn’t feel the same. When her friend/Agent, Paula offers her a getaway in Colorado, she can’t pass it up. Spa treatments and alone time. All the things Jennifer is longing for.

John Blake is the local Veterinarian in North Creek, Colorado. He’s a windowed father to 3 of the most adorable children. He loves his life more than anything, but misses his wife something awful. John just wants to have a nice Christmas with his kids.

With Jennifer on her way to the Spa and John driving home from delivering a foal, their worlds collide. Almost literally.

There standing in the middle of the road, in the dark, during a terrible snow storm is Jennifer Wade. The only problem... She doesn’t know she’s Jennifer Wade. She has no memory whatsoever.

John Blake has no idea what to do with the lovely lady with no memory of who she is, but he won’t leave her stranded.

Together they will both find exactly what they didn’t know they were looking for.

*Sigh* I just really loved this book.

If you’re a fan of the Christmas Hallmark movies, you won’t be disappointed with this story. I highly recommend you check this one out.

I'm not sure if anyone had this experience while reading A Christmas to Remember, but I did. I kept being reminded of the movie Overboard because of these themes: memory loss, being taken in by a family, and discovering where you truly belong. The distinctions don't go further than that because this story is QUITE different.

You know how they say "be careful what you wish for because you just might get it"? Well, Jennifer/Maggie certainly gets that wish granted when she winds up in North Creek, CO and stays with John and his family after losing her memory. What follows is an eye-opening adventure about family, holiday traditions, home, and being loved for who you are. Jennifer's growth throughout the story was very inspiring and I love how she bonded with John's children, Jamie, Kyle, and Daisy from the start. Those relationships certainly brought out a side of Jennifer she probably never knew she had. John's growth and coming to terms with the loss of his wife was also a very real look at grief and wanting to hold on to all the memories you have at your disposal. I think he may be one of my favorite male protagonists so far because of his personality, love for his children, and how he treats Jennifer when she's Maggie.

Also, the other characters were great. Paula, her agent and close friend, rocks. I wish there were more scenes with her but it was nice to have a few chapters focusing on her and giving further exploration into her friendship with Jennifer. She is a true friend! Lastly, minor characters including the Barbour family and Bunny just give the reader that feeling of home and family, which is what Hallmark is all about! I hope the movie comes on television again soon so I can check it out. I was really intrigued by this story!

If you're a foodie and love Christmas family traditions, this book will be a perfect fit! Maybe one to even share with your entire family.

There’s something inherently wrong about reading a Christmas story in June when the temperature here in Texas is currently 98. So maybe that’s why I had a really hard time getting into this book. (I was hoping reading about cold weather and snow would help take my mind off this blistering heat, but no dice!) However, this is when the book was released, so read it now, I must!

I was curious to see how a book - which was based on a Hallmark Original Movie - would translate to paper (or, ePage, as the case may be :)). Sadly, for me it fell flat. At 10 percent, I couldn’t muster much interest in either the heroine or the hero, and felt a cavity coming on with all the saccharine sweetness on display (the hero stops in the road to let a squirrel cross, for goodness sake - not that I want him to run it over, but I don’t really want to read about him pondering the squirrel and all it’s happy forest friends, either).

At 20 percent, the hero and heroine finally meet. And I’m still not able to get into this story. There’s still more overly-sweetness, and slapstick humor (the heroine sits on an apple pie).

I gave it until Chapter 11 (26 percent), and I’m going to tap out here. The kids seem like they may be cute, but I’m just not feeling it. Maybe if I weren’t so far behind in my ARC reading I might stick with this one, but at the current time, I’m just not in the mood. I gave it try, it didn’t pull me in, so I’m moving on!

I can honestly say I AM IN LOVE!

This is a story about an overworked woman named Jennifer who plans a get away into the mountains to finally get some piece of mind, but a blizzard hits. One thing leads to another and Jennifer has gotten into an accident and now has amnesia!

A veterinarian named John finds Jennifer wondering around looking confused. His job is to help the lost and helpless so he willing brings her into his home that he lives in with his children. John starts falling for this beautiful stranger, only issue is how can you actually love someone who doesn't even know who they are? How can Jennifer be falling in love with a man when she doesn't even know herself?

One thing that amnesia can't take away from you is your intuition and your heart. This is a warm beautiful love story!

I also did not know this was a Christmas movie! I can't wait to catch it during Christmas time! This is an uplifting love story that will get you into the Christmas spirit! If I could've rated this ten stars I would've!

A Christmas to Remember is a sweet Hallmark romance set around the most wonderful time of the year. I had such a lovely time reading it that it took me just a couple of days to reach the epilogue.

Jennifer, a successful New York TV host, suffers from memory loss after a car accident. With the help of John, an attractive vet/father/widower, she’ll try to remember who she really is. In her identity quest, she might not only retrieve a sense of self, but most importantly a real sense of belonging while immersing herself in the smalltown way of life of North Creek, Colorado, a far cry from her hectic life back in the big Apple.

With a cast of endearing characters, this book conveys a sense of what makes Christmas such a warm and festive family celebration. It is a treat even in summertime. John’s background story is moving and heartwarming. You can but root for his budding romance with Jennifer.

This novel is a lovely, touching story about love, family and true happiness. The way Jennifer turns her life around conveys a beautiful message of hope for any romantic soul!

A recommended read!

A story from a Hallmark movie. This is about a women Jennifer who is from New York and has a T.V. food show, really like a food and home show. Needing a break from not just the show but from the people around her she goes to a trip to Colorado. This would be good except for the problem of a storm coming in and she losses her GPS, and then crashes. When she comes to she starts to walk not realizing she is in the middle of a highway. She is discovered by John and his son. Taken to his home it is there that she finds out that she does not know her name. The rest of the book is Jennifer bonding with John and his three children, and the two of them working on finding out who she is. John who is a widow is also trying nicely to ward off one of the single ladies in town while he finds himself falling for Jennifer. The real question is once her memory comes back will she stay or go back to New York? Read this nice fun story to find out. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. We meet Jennifer Wade getting ready to record the Christmas special on her popular weekly show Homestyle with Jennifer Wade on the Kitchen Network. While at a Christmas party with her boyfriend Brad hosted by her friend and agent Paula Marshall, Jennifer is sent off to North Creek, Colorado for some needed R&R. She feels that Brad is not her ideal even though he feels that they would make a great power couple.

Dr. John Blake is a veterinarian living in North Creek with his children and a dog. He recently lost his wife and his friends are trying to get him back into the dating scene. His best friend Dan Daniels stops by and they hang out.

As Jennifer drives her rental from the airport to Paula's cabin, she gets lost since there is no reception. She checks her phone, but then ends up missing a turn ending up off the edge of the road and down an embankment. John and his son are on their way home from a home visit when they see someone in the middle of the road. They stop their car and get her inside to take her home. Only problem is that she does not remember anything about herself. John and Jennifer must figure out her identity while sorting out their own lives and feelings.

Rebecca Moesta writes a very feel good story. You get to experience the what ifs in this story and how Jennifer reacts to her situation without the pressures of her life. It is a sweet story with characters and situations you would relate to and want to have in your life. I enjoyed the simplicity of life and look forward to seeing it on the small screen.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this privilege.

Of all the Hallmark books I have read this has been my least favorite. In the book Jennifer is a huge home entertainment style tv show star. She gets into an accident and is rescued by a widower named John and his kids. Jennifer becomes Maggie since they don't know her real name, that she can't remember. They bring her into their home and a bond starts to form.
Here is my problem with the book. I don't know if it was the audiobook narrator and or writer, but the kids were super annoying to me. A lot of the characters were. I didn't like practically anyone in the book. John and Jennifer were just okay. It didn't really give me anything to read it again for. The movie is the way to go on this one. Much better.

Perhaps I’m biased with the 5 star rating because this movie is one of favorite Hallmark Christmas movies. And the book was basically spot on to the actual movie, just a few minor details added to the book. A quick synopsis, woman takes a much needed vacation away for the big city, flies to Colorado and gets into a car accident in which she hits her head and has amnesia. A father of 3 finds her wandering, takes her into his home and with his kids cares for her. They become attached, with the fear that she will remember who she is and will have to return to her former life. Definitely romance is involved. And since Christmas is over for the season, I’ll have to wait 11 months until I read the next batch of Christmas books.

Jennifer needs to get away so she borrows her friend's chalet in Aspen but never arrives because of a car crash where she emerges with amnesia. She is found on the road by John and taken in by him and his family. Living with them she discovers things she forgot she did not like and remembered what it is like being part of a family. She is eventually found by her friend and returned to a life that she learns she does not want.

This is a sweet Hallmark romance. I enjoyed the story and characters. The book fleshes out the movie. There are thoughts in the book that cannot be shown in the movie. There is the snake in the grass but there are also good people who come to love Jennifer. This is a favorite of mine.

A Christmas to Remember is an endearing story about a divorced woman and a widower with three kids. Jennifer Wade, a DIY Homestyle show hostess, takes a much needed break from work during the Christmas holiday season. She travels to Colorado where she ends up in an accident and loses her memory. John Blake, a Veterinarian, stumbles across a disoriented Jennifer and takes her in to help her. It is a well-written story that makes for a fun, easy read. The story flows, and every detail moves the storyline forward. We, as the reader, get the point-of-view from three different characters in the story, which gives the reader a unique insight from their inner thoughts and feelings of these characters.

This book had my emotions all wrapped up from start to finish. It was a beautifully heartwarming story that was a joy to read. The love and compassion that is shown by all the characters through various moments show that even if life throws you for a loop there’s still light at the end of the tunnel.

It was amazing to see how a family welcomed a total stranger into their lives when they had the opportunity to help. How without knowing it, Jennifer & John found what their Christmas and their lives were missing.

I give this book a 5⭐️. It made me feel warm and fuzzy inside & I highly recommend it!

Who would have thought that amnesia makes for a perfect Christmas romance?

When overworked, stressed out Jennifer decides to borrow her friend's chalet near Aspen, she ends up in an accident suffering from amnesia. How do you celebrate the holidays when you don't remember who you are?

Local veterinarian John ends up taking care of "Maggie" as she recovers over the holidays, as they try to discover who she is. The family is darling and cute, full of merry Christmas traditions.

A perfectly joyful and delightful holiday read to treat yourself to any time of year.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A Christmas to Remember embodies everything I love about a Hallmark Christmas. It was the perfect feel good story filled with Christmas magic and romance. It's so easy to lose yourself in the town, characters, and story. This is the perfect book to put yourself in the Christmas spirit. So grab a cup of hot chocolate, snuggle up with some fuzzy blankets, and get ready for a Christmas story to remember. I recommend this book for fans of Hallmark movies and Christmas fanatics.
