Things have never come easily for me. And frankly, I’m at a point where I just want to get through my life in one piece. So when a new job, offering me hope for a future that doesn’t suck, practically falls into my lap, I don’t hesitate for a second.

Then I meet him. My boss. He’s the tall, dark, and handsome type. The kind of man who can cause a woman like me a lot of complications. Complications I can’t afford.

Benjamin Scott has trouble written all over him in big, bold dollar signs. I need to keep my guard up around him, but it’s not that easy—especially when the attraction is mutual.

He’s a gorgeous billionaire who doesn’t date. I’m a hopeless romantic who’s just looking for Mr. Right.

We couldn’t be more wrong for each other…but I still want him anyway.

Ughhh “I want you...no leave...wait come back...we can’t....I can’t imagine being with anyone else....no we are done...wait be with me...just love me...I cant...ok I’ll stay...I’m scared...we can’t be together...but I want you...” O.M.G. this pretty much sums up the book. Back and forth like ENOUGH already. He’s screwed up...she’s messed up...they both love each other-should’ve been THE END. Now I either let it go or read the next book to see what actually happens 😫

From the reviews on here and Amazon, I'm in the minority. I tried really hard to like this book and I wouldn't have gotten if I knew it was a trope I dislike. To me, in romance, one of my biggest no-no's is cheating. I do not like it, I do not read it, however, I do not judge others if that is what they like because we all have different tastes. I was originally going to put this in a spoiler but thought better of it. To begin, there was a constant push and pull that honestly became tedious. Benjamin and Darcy are very wishy-washy when it comes to their relationship for many reasons I won't go into. Ok, so on to my chief complaint. Towards the beginning (ish) they 'break up' but still pine for each other for a month. In this month, Benjamin sleeps with other women and takes other women to events, etc to 'forget' about Darcy....they try again for a few days and 'break up' again for about 4 months....this time Darcy has a one night stand with some guy. I stopped reading a little after this but it seems like she tried to have a relationship with the one night stand guy but was still madly in love with Benjamin...While I understand that 'breaking up' means they are no longer together so they can see other people, it doesn't change the fact that I still view it as cheating because they are still doing a crazy push and pull and whatever else. Not to mention there is no conflict except their own stupidity. So why do I think the story was ok even though I didn't finish it? Potential. If they didn't have the cheating and had the external conflict that I thought they would have, it would be a good story.

Everything is going to fast.
It’s already the first day of her job and she is talking blunt with her boss and then having dinner with him. Their was no buildup.
I don’t know what happen further but I got bored.

I will give this a retry after reading more reviews. This is a Watty Award winner so let’s see.

I first read this book in Wattpad way back then (my first book by this author ever!) and I was inmediately engaged. The characters were interesting---every turn and twist was unexpected---and although I wanted to clog Ben over the head more than once, I ended up falling in love with him, too.

It's great authors are getting recognized and moving on to greater, better things. I'll be coming back for new books from Alicia.

I loved it! I couldn't stop reading! Nearly missed getting off at my bus stop because of it! I can't wait to read the next book in the series! I've been 'consumed' by it! But I'm not surprised, Alicia is just such a good darn author! Her books on Wattpad are gems!

This one as things that I love and things that I hate, so it kind of compensated, plus Alicia is one of my favourite authors of Wattpad (#guiltypleasure) so, that give this one brownie points (though I have to admit that it is pretty noticeable that it was one of the first ones the author wrote, it didn't have much dept at the beginning).
It was insta love. Not even that, it was insta sex. For real. You weren't even in the fourth chapter and they have already gone at it.
Though, Alicia writes soon good that she keeps you going till you finish. I blame it all on her ability to craft an appealing story even if it has not much dept.

I liked this book by this new and talented young author. The back and forth between Darcy and Ben was fun and kept me guessing but I wanted to punch Ben more than once. This is a Watty Award winning author so I expect big things as she matures into a full-blown adult and begins to have more real life experiences to share in her books. It’s a must read for those that enjoy a modern romance.

The drama was completely over-the-top contrived. No outside forces, just the MCs being stupid. And there is no ending, it just cuts off. Not even a cliffhanger, just a non-ending. Very odd. But it wasn't interesting enough to be worth reading the next book.

Love it 💚

I read this first on Wattpad and have been eagerly awaiting it's release so that I could have my very own copy. I'm gonna start with the cons. I'm not one that believes in love at first sight, unless it's doughnuts, so that irks me. I just find it unbelievable. Darcy falls in love with Ben pretty much straight away and thinks it's a good idea to declare it after a week of working for him. I'd just prefer a month/3 month time jump to make it more believable and less cringeworthy to me. Now, the pros. The writing, punctuation, and grammar is perfect throughout. I like the characters, even though Darcy and Ben drive me insane at times, but they're good people. The secondary characters are fun and caring, championing Ben and Darcy along in their journey. I'm looking forward to re-reading the other books when they're released. For the first time readers, stick with this series, it is not going to be your typical billionaire romance, promise. 100% recommend.

I think why this story doesn't work for me like her other did because I read all those stories before this one and they all blew me away. So after reading all those varieties of stories from this author that made me cry like a baby and made me feel all the pain that the characters were going through was because this one was her first story (I think) and wasn't something new as in concept like her other stories are. But I still read the whole series and had my moments with it. And it showed me how much progress this author had made as a writer.❤

Ps. This author has many beautiful stories to share that I'm waiting to get in paperback.

PSS. Look out for this author because she might become the next big hit in the Romance genre! 🙈🙊👀

Will he? Won't he?

Frustratingly flawed and handsome Benjamin keeps you reading because you just can't help yourself. I kept wondering if he would get his sh*t together. You can't help who you fall in love with and Darcy is finding this out first hand. I like the secondary character, Doris, for her honesty and directness with Ben.

Sweet

There are a few frustrating parts. Benjamin seems like the strong macho man in one breath and an immature twirling other areas. Still a good read

This is where I write a book review. That's fine, because all I think of when it comes to this trilogy is - fantastic! I found it and I put it on hold back then, hoping for a week or so of free time to binge-read it. Well, I read it in 48 hours, unable to put it down until it said "you've finished reading....". Then I needed a break from any other reading to let the effect of it alleviate, so whatever I chose to read next is not ruined before I even started. That's what happens when you let yourself into Alicia's world of fiction.
Alicia's world of fiction. There should be a text, a review, a column with this title :), but I'll limit myself to a few sentences.
Alicia's ideas, plots, characters, all of it is just brilliant. It's realistic. No free rides, no sugar-coating, nothing is given without being well deserved and fought for. Her women, the leads - strong, powerful, independent. Her men, the supports - devoted, determined, not afraid of their emotions. Both women and men - vulnerable, but fighters. Emotions - off the charts. Every single chapter in every single Alicia's story leaves you breathless, whether it takes your breath away with excitement and ultimate happiness, or it gives you a trembling feeling of dread and despair. You can't wait to see what happens next, and that's how you end up oblivious to the world around you until you close the book. Even after that, a pretty fantastic feeling lingers for a while.
Reading Alicia's books makes you feel like you are a metal ball in a pinball machine: you're catapulted into a reality with all kinds of ups and downs, obstacles and mazes, twists and turns, you're emotionally flicked from bright to dark and vice versa endlessly, you see the exit but it can't be reached just yet. When you finally reach that exit, you feel so good and you crave more, you want to do it again. Then you read it again :)
Alicia's stories are so much more than romantic novels. They are stories of struggle and survival entwined in a beautiful, magical love. Her writing is unique, exceptional. Her choice and combination of words in simple sentences create unforgettable, breathtaking scenes, emotionally charged to perfection. She makes you feel without writing feelings, and that's pure art.
I'm excited to see what's coming next.

I first read this book on Wattpad and ever since I have become addicted to Alicia’s books. This book is addictive, never ending suspense ( like all her other books❤️) and I guarantee, once you start you won’t be able to put it down. All her books make you feel like you are there living the story, feeling their emotions and as always taken on a very emotional roller coaster ride. This book NEEDS to be put into a movie , just like her other ones. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed well done Alicia ❤️the style of writing that she does is so unique and refreshing and have not come across a author like her. She is a truely gifted author , who writes with passion and her heart ❤️

Was told to read this by a friend who had read this on wattpad. I was pleasantly surprised to really enjoy this story. I’m usually pretty picky about clique billionaire stories and while the male lead of this story started out like some others I’d read, by the end I was completely sold on him.. The romance between the characters is at times extremely frustrating but there is something special there that I think will blossom in the next installment. My friend has read all three and says the series is her favorite of all time.... so we’ll see.

Quick start of things, which initially turned me off but overall these characters provide a really complicated steamy passionate romance. I loved Benjamin and Darcy by the end and loved Doris and Kevin too. End is a cliffhanger but a good one !
