Wonderful, I truly can’t get enough of these books, there wonderful. For those that like clean books these have been very clean. The stories are excellent.
With every book, I fall even further down the rabbit hole. Somehow I have become even more even more obsessed with this world and all of the amazing characters in it. I was quite worried that Leigh Walker wouldn't divulge into the wedding of Dallas and Gwyneth but I was so wrong to doubt her. The wedding was beautifully written. Although this story focused on Austin and Blake, Dallas and Gwyneth paved the way. With that being said, what a story! I must say this rebel, bad boy persona Austin had through the book had me completely hypnotized. He displayed strength and determination that is to be commended. He was willing to defend his home from every opponent regardless of the outcome. That kind of bravery just made him that much more appealing. Now Blake, she was a joy to get to know. She took her new role seriously and learned so much about herself over the course of the story. In her own way, she showed the same strength and determination. This is why I believe Austin and Blake are perfectly matched. This story has absolutely everything in it. I am completely in love. I hope it never ends.
Yes! we got a little taste of Dallas and Gwyn's wedding... It was great and would have been a disappoint if we didn't get to see it happen.
(I actually wrote the 5th book review before writing this.) The fourth book was good. I like Blake. It was something different and couldn't wait to see what Blake brought to the table. Unfortunately, she lost some of her spunk and I don't know.... I was slightly intrigued but bored.
I do love the part about the Gnomes! Beast was the best.
I recommend this book but i will admit that it wasn't as good as the first three.
I read the first three books in record time. Of course, I could skip over all the recapping that took up a good chunk of the first few chapters of each book. I gave up after this book. It's pretty much a rehash of the same plot with different characters. Eve got turned. Rose got turned. Austin is always stomping off. G was always stomping off. Both couples fall in love in record time, which always starts with the prince fiercely swearing to protect his woman. I almost want to see what's going to happen with the rebels and the werewolves, but it'll probably just be a side note to all the mush and internal monologues.
This might be my favorite Vampire Royals book yet!! I loved Blake, she was very straight forward and blunt but also extremely sweet. She knows what she wants and has a take charge attitude. She also has a big heart. (Look at Beast, my new favorite character!) Then there is sexy Prince Austin, he is extremely loyal, protective, and knows how to play the political game between the Vampires and the Werewolves. Everything about this book was amazing. There was more world building, more action and more romance. Definitely excited for the last book in the series.
This was another enjoyable read in this series! I enjoyed the interactions between the characters that I ended up reading this in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down! Very excited to see that there will be another installment in this series that I will be able to read soon!
I've been looking forward to reading this book for so long! I love this series and this book is the best so far.
Blake is such as interesting character. Her personality comes right off the page. And her chemistry with Prince Austin is through the roof. So unbelievably cute. I like him better than his older brother. ;) I'm dying to get my hands on book five.
I have really enjoyed reading the further story of Austin and Blake. Eagerly anticipating the next book. Glad I finally learned what a "dreaded" gnome looks like.
I've enjoyed all Leigh Walker's books on the Vampire Royals. I enjoy the characters in her book and that they are clean...which is a big plus for me. They are a great quick read.
I really liked Blake in the first 3 books of the series and was really happy to see that she and Austin would get books of their own. While we don't have the excitement of the TV show, there's enough drama and action to make up for it. I think these two have great chemistry and I love their scenes together. Its also cool to explore more of this world with the introduction of the werewolves.
The North is the fourth novel in Leigh Walker’s Vampire Royals series and is another brilliant read, this time featuring previously introduced pageant contender Blake and details another romantic adventure, this time located in the vampires home land of the North.
The Pageant has ended, but the adventure has only just begun for Blake Kensington! After seeing her friend Gwyn fall in love with vampire prince, Dallas, Blake is ready to step into her role as Goodwill Ambassador for the North. Departing straight after the wedding of the century, Blake is excited to travel to a foreign country, but it’s her travel companion who she is most curious about. Prince Austin Black is handsome and mysterious, and so darn frustrating. Like his older brother Dallas, Austin is a vampire but unlike his brother, Austin has only ever seen humans as food…..until he met Blake. Austin seems to care for her and continues to make her heart race but as he struggles to be truthful, Blake finds herself wondering if what she feels is really worth the pain. As dangers increase in the North and with a werewolf threat hanging over their heads, will Blake and Austin find themselves lost to their enemies or will they instead lose their hearts to each other?
Having fallen in love with this series throughout the first three books, I was ecstatic to discover Leigh Walker planned to continue it despite the conclusion of Gwyn and Dallas’s tale. Though I would have adored to continue following them, especially during their wedding, I was excited about the prospect of getting to know Blake and see Walker capitalise on the chemistry she and Prince Austin had in the last novel.
The North marks a new chapter in this series as readers find themselves drawn into the mind and heart of Blake Kensington, a fellow pageant contender who became a good friend to Gwyn throughout the previous three books. I liked Blake then and I like her even more now, having read her story. Blake is a sweet, food loving and kind individual who is determined to be a good ambassador. She wants to protect those she cares about and is genuinely easy to follow.
Blake and Austin have a fantastic chemistry. Leigh Walker imbrues their romance with possibility and potential and so much sexual tension. I love seeing Blake stand up to Austin and want to know what was going on. It was adorable seeing Austin let her keep Beast (who was too cute for words I might add) and slowly begin to act on what he was feeling towards Blake. He couldn’t deny the attraction he felt and I have to admit there’s something so addictive about seeing a strong, male come apart over a woman.
There are so many characters in this series I absolutely love! I’m stoked to be able to follow Blake and Austin again in another story but I would also love to see Eve and maybe even Shaye feature in a tale down the track. I feel like they, especially Eve, have real stories to tell!
Leigh Walker has captured my attention once again with The North and I am utterly captivated by Blake and Austin’s relationship. I’m dying to read more about them as soon as possible and can’t recommend this series enough!

With every book I read from Leigh Walker I fall even more in love! I have become so obsessed with this world and all of the amazing characters in it. I was quite worried that we wouldn't get any of the wedding details but I was wrong to doubt her and the wedding was so beautifully written.
This story focused on Austin and Blake after Dallas and Gwyneth laid the foundation for change. The rebel, bad boy persona Austin has through the book had me completely hypnotized. He's displayed strength and determination that is to be admired and inspired. He willingly defends his home from every opponent regardless of the outcome. Also opening his home and kingdom to change that was once, not so long ago, frowned upon requires a bravery that makes him even more appealing. Blake is such a gem and is probably the most relatable (I definitely am a Blake!) She takes her new role seriously and has learned so much about herself as well as the North and it's people throughout the novel. She's shown the same strength and determination that Austin holds. They really are perfectly matched for one another.
We see some of our other favorite characters make an appearance and we also get to meet some new ones. By far the best new face is Beast! His story is absolutely amazing and it will have you doubling over in laughter. This story has absolutely everything in it love, humor, wit and a brewing battle. I am completely in love!
He leaned back a bit, so he could look me directly in the eye. “What about you? How old are you?” “Eighteen.” He raised his eyebrows. “You’re a child.” I frowned again. “By human standards, I’m an adult.” “By vampire standards, you’re a toddler.” “I beg your pardon”- “Ooh Blakey, are you having a temper tantrum?” His eyes sparkled merrily as he teased me. “Do you need a time out?” I exhaled deeply. “I just might.” “There there, I didn’t mean it.” He took my hand and kissed it. He released me, and I stared at my hand, thinking I might never wash it again. •l I’m so glad “The North” picked up right where “The Finale” left off. I was so happy that Leigh Walker included the wedding and didn’t just immediately start with Blake and Prince Austin in the North. While reading I remembered how quickly I read these books because they’re so good I can’t put them down. And again Leigh Walker doesn’t disappoint! I love Blake and Prince Austin together. I can’t wait read “The Siege”.
Lady Kensington and Prince Austin....be still my heart. Blake Kensington, Goodwill Ambassador, decides to travel to the North following Prince Dallas brother, Prince Austin. Her intentions were Nobel....wanting to protect her Ill father. Falling in love was not something she planned on.
Vampires continue, werewolves, shifters, and an adorable gnome are all new characters. Eve could be my most favorite vampire. Beside the fact that I love this book!
I loved this whole series. I read all 4 books in two days because I could not put this story away...it had me from page 1 of the first book in this series “The Pageant”. I loved everything about it, the characters are so easy to love and relate to, the story line flows so well and is paced perfectly and it will keep you entertained throughout. Seriously, read it...I know you will love it as much as I do. I can’t wait for book 5!!!
I love Blake! Her straightforward manner is something I appreciate, as that is not something I often see in characters in love. Most of the time people in books don't ask directly for what they want, but Blake goes for it! I really enjoyed watching her and Prince Austin get closer and work together. Of course there was suspense, and I was nervous to see what would happen with the wolves and the rebels.
I read the first books of the vampire royals, and thought I would try to continue the story. Those were okay, but very predictable, and the characters weren’t drawn up that well. After reading this one, and seeing the heroine, who was an interesting side character in the first three books, suddenly lose any common sense, and start acting childish, will be going no further. The story is not interesting or original enough for that.
The North has some interesting creatures and seems more dangerous than the settlements. These things make the story flow easily, but the romance is a bit lacking for me. It seems too matter of fact or like it’s a done deal from the beginning. Everyone sees it and expects it, even our hero and heroine. There’s no build to it, it just is.
Of the series so far, I found this one to be better than the rest. I like the characters more and the plot was exciting. I loved the gnome and Austin is more a King than his father and equal in different ways than his brother. I feel it was this book that set it apart from The Selection and took on a life of its own. One to the next book to see what happens next...
Wow this one was rough. What exactly was Blake’s job, if anything? Was she just in the North so she could film propaganda with Austin? I’d rather have followed Tamara...Blake served no purpose other than the romance, screwing things up, and somehow convincing Austin to do something dumb.
I loved the first three books. This one takes a turn but all the same characters. I can’t wait to see what happens as the books go on. Love seeing things from different character perspectives.
Same plot arc as the first 3 of the series, main characters are literally the same characters as before just with different names, writing was not good.
