The Life and Diaries of Anne Frank

Rate this book
From 1942 until 1944, Anne Frank and her family lived secretly in a few small rooms at the back of her father's office in Amsterdam, never leaving the building. Like many other Jewish families at that time, they were hiding from Hitler's Nazis. While she was in hiding, Anne wrote diaries which described her secret life, and the loves, hopes, fears and dreams of a teenage girl in extraordinary times. After the war, the diaries became famous around the world. This is the story of the diaries, of Anne Frank's early years, and of her life during and after the time in hiding. (3.5) This is not the first time I read Anne’s Frank story, but is my first time reading this particular book.

The way the author explains you in easy words is perfect, even for kids. It makes the original Diary easy to understand.

I felt so related to the book, because the pandemic the world is going through is maybe a little bit similar to the holocaust. Of course there are differences but overall, both are situations where we are not able to be totally free.

Of course this retold version is perfect for all ages and I would recommend it to everybody.

The life of Anne Frank and her family is presented in an easy-to-read and concise way. The actions of the Nazi Party during the 1930s and 1940s are presented in an understandable manner. People of all ages can read this book and learn about a terrible but important period of world history.

This book was my first book, and it’s such an excellent one. I related to Anna, and I admire how she tries to hold on to hope even in the worst times. OMG, when I finished the book, I cried like my eyes became an ocean of sadness. It definitely deserves a 3/5.
