We Silver Elves have never pursued Reiki as a practice and yet over the past thirty plus years we have been initiated into all three degrees of Reiki (the first attunement twice) and had books on Reiki, including this one, books for beginners and Master level practitioners sent to us (which we have read and studied) without ever asking anyone to do so. For some reason, the Universe and the Shining Ones wanted us to learn Reiki. And we for our part have incorporated it into our magic. This is all to say that we have no vested interest in giving this book a good review. And yet, this is a very good book with clear instructions and graphics and while it is for beginners, we found it to be a wonderful refresher course for us (of course, we've never actually taken a course in Reiki). So, we recommend it highly for those who are interested in studying Reiki and for those who became initiated but let their practice lapse and wish to remind thems'elves what it is all about and refresh their understanding of the practice. If you want to know about doing Reiki or what it is all about, get this book. You really can't go wrong in doing so and you will surely benefit. —The Silver Elves, authors of 43 books on elven magic, philosophy and culture including, Through the Mists of Faerie: A Magical Guide to the Wisdom Teaching of the Ancient Elven
I really enjoyed Reiki Healing for Beginners, I'd seen a few other books by Karen (Author), including a crystal book I'd like to get so was pleased to see this one on Kindle Unlimited. A fairly quick read, what I enjoyed most about this book was the section on treating physical/mental/spiritual conditions through reiki and where to focus the reiki energy to aid those issues. It was often I would think it was only one area, but Karen explained often several areas would need reiki energy.
This is definitely a book I'll be using again and again in the future for reference. Much of the history and techniques I was already familiar with, but the ailments sections were valuable!
A solid 4.5 stars, a good book for reference and free if you subscribe to kindle unlimited.
I studied advanced yoga therapy, and the course included an introduction to Reiki Healing, which stirred my curiosity. I recently received a review copy of"Reiki Healing," and my curiosity has been stirred even further. This book is a practical and clear guide to Reiki.
I found this book to be fascinating and want to learn more. I plan to read it again and again until I can soak up all its information. It is quite detailed in explanation as a practical guide for beginners. But it is up to you where you take this information and go forward with this theory and heal mind, body and soul.
It lists basic step-by-step instructions to follow for 100+ remedies. It gives the history of Reiki from the first instructor and how and where it began.
Can you really heal yourself and others with these practices? Are you willing to read and find out?
"Reiki Healing For Beginners" by Karen Frazier is a comprehensive guidebook for those who want to learn and practice the art of Reiki healing. The book covers all the essential aspects of Reiki, including its history, principles, techniques, and applications.
The author starts by providing an overview of Reiki, explaining its origins, and how it has evolved over time. She also introduces the three levels of Reiki and how one can progress through them. The book then delves into the principles of Reiki, such as the concept of energy, chakras, and the importance of intention.
The most valuable part of this book is the detailed instruction on the practice of Reiki. The author provides step-by-step guidance on how to perform a Reiki healing session, including the hand positions and the different techniques one can use. The book also covers the various ways Reiki can be used for healing, such as on oneself, others, animals, and even plants.
In addition to the practical aspects of Reiki, the author also touches on the spiritual side of the practice. She discusses the importance of meditation, visualization, and developing intuition as part of the Reiki journey. The book also includes guidance on how to incorporate Reiki into one's daily life, such as using it for self-care and stress management.
Overall, "Reiki Healing For Beginners" is an excellent guidebook for anyone interested in learning about Reiki. The book is well-organized, easy to read, and provides clear and concise explanations of the different aspects of Reiki. The step-by-step instructions on how to practice Reiki are particularly helpful, making it easy for beginners to start their Reiki journey with confidence.
One criticism of the book is that it is somewhat simplistic in its approach. While this is understandable, given that it is intended for beginners, more experienced practitioners may find it lacking in depth. However, for those who are new to Reiki, the simplicity of the book can be a strength, as it makes the practice more accessible and less intimidating.
Another issue is that the book does not provide much information on the scientific basis of Reiki. While the author briefly touches on the concept of energy, she does not provide a detailed explanation of how Reiki works or the evidence supporting its effectiveness. This may be a drawback for those who are more scientifically-minded or skeptical about alternative healing practices.
In conclusion, "Reiki Healing For Beginners" is a well-written and accessible guidebook for anyone interested in learning about Reiki. The book provides a solid foundation for beginners to start their Reiki journey and includes practical tips for incorporating Reiki into daily life. While it may be lacking in depth for more experienced practitioners, it is an excellent resource for those who are new to Reiki and looking to explore its many benefits.
The book is a practical guide on understanding what reiki actually is and how can you proceed forward for maybe healing yourself and also practice it on others
My Take:
Well this is a book review I took as I am planning to learn reiki myself. There are so many answers I am seeking in life to move forward in spiritual realm and to top it all I avidly believe in the concept of affirmations, gratitude and energy. My father long time back had learnt reiki for healing. He practiced it for some time and then abruptly stopped due to less time in day to day routine which is exactly what I experience now a days. Few time back I discussed the idea with one of my friend and she jumped and said go for it as it’s quite effective. Her brother who stays in another city practices it when she is unwell and it does help. My boss too has learnt reiki but dunno if she practices it.
So I thought of first reading this book which will give me with an idea on what lies ahead and whether I would get the answers to the questions. Well the book has strengthened my will to proceed with learning reiki for healing self. To start with the book guides you on who should be your Reiki Guru. It talks about various levels of reiki which I have to say I wasn’t aware of. Not many people are aware but there is a concept of distance healing where we can heal someone even if the person is not nearby.
The book talks about so many ailments and actually guides you on how can you heal someone. While it is specified at so many places throughout the book that Reiki is NOT a substitute to the medical course of treatment if you are undergoing the same but it compliments with the medication by providing positive energy. I was a bit surprised to learn that Reiki can also treat cancer upto second stage.
I liked the fact that for each of the ailment specified, the book first talks about the root that needs to be rectified to heal the illness. I actually had the audible version of the book so had a bit difficulty imagining the hand positions which are depicted in the kindle and paperback edition. But with the Audible version, they have shared the link to annexure which can be referred by readers as a ready reckoner.
Overall a great self learning book if you wish to learn reiki. I am definitely going for it.
“A primer on the universal healing energy that has the capacity to change lives in a positive way.” A friend had recently mentioned Reiki Healing to me about my back and knee pains. I had never heard of it before. When an email came through about this book, I grabbed it. This book gave me a basic understanding of Reiki and what to expect. It covers the history, principles, and techniques. It is well-written and offers easy and understandable language on becoming attuned to and channeling Reiki energy. Bought the audio version which was great but I think the book version would be better as there is a lot of information that people would need to refer back to. I have studied level one reiki and the techniques I have been taught are a lot different to what is taught in this book so it’s hard to change what I am already being taught. Granted people are taught different ways and then you work out what is best for you. There are some good pieces of info at the beginning though.
A pretty good overview of the basics, but ultimately you'll need a teacher. Anyone with an instinct for or experience in energy healing may find it too basic to be helpful.
It got repetitive in places and didn't dive deeply into anything, so I found it a bit too surface level and lacking for my purposes.
It's the best book I've found on Reiki so far (that bar was in the dirt though).
Very enjoyable and gave me great tips on finding a good reiki healer. I practically enjoyed the section about the history of reiki! The techniques were clearly explained and easy to use.
It seems comprehensive whether for a beginner or not, but I haven't read many others, so I'll read more to see if that impression is further supported or not.
audiobook. Powered thru due to dropping out of Audible plus. reasonable overview. don't know enough about topic to say one way or other. not incredibly helpful to just power through like I did.
