Addie’s mission had been sabotaged and she’d been shot multiple times. She wouldn’t die from her wounds because she was an immortal, but she did hurt, and she needed time to heal. The Winchesters had taken her into their home while she was passed out from her injuries. Now that she was awake, she needed to leave. She was being hunted and they would all be in danger if she stayed.
Xander Winchester had just received the best news. The publisher loved his book so much that they were not only publishing his book, they were offering a movie deal to boot. He couldn’t wait to tell his family at dinner tonight.
The scent from the woman hit Xander hard. Her beauty was something that he’d never seen before. Even as he took a step toward her, his mind was telling him to tread carefully, while his body and wolf were telling him to go forth and conquer. He had a feeling that listening to that part of him would get him killed quicker than stepping in front of a bus. Or an entire line of them.

As an immortal, Addie knew she couldn't die, but being shot multiple times still hurt and time to heal was required. And then, after that she'd figure out who betrayed her. Thankfully, the Winchesters took her in and gave her that time, even though she was worried her troubles would follow her right to the door.
Xander was riding a professional high as his book is being published and made into a movie. He can't wait to tell his loved ones at their family dinner, knowing they'd be happy for him. But that'll have to wait because the most important thing on his mind now is the mate he's just discovered. Something he didn't think possible as his mate died years ago before they even got to meet. Though his wolf wants to jump right in and stake his claim, his human side is being rational, just knowing he needs to take this one step at a time.
As Xander and Addie spend time together, their mating bond starts forming as do their feelings for one another. However, Addie is still in danger and needs to know who set her up. And why.

Addie is very, very old. A para-canvas created to be the ultimate solider, she works for the CIA as an assassin, and sniper, and reports to the president. She doesn't want or need a mate, didn't think there was even one for her. Her sigil has clamed Xander, so she has no choice but to accept fates gift. Someone is trying to set her up and kill her. Her new family is in danger. She can and will keep everyone safe.
Fast paced and steamy, loved Xander and Addie's story. A lot of hints for things to come for Tyler and Dominick.

It was Pretty Good!
Xander, is a writer who has just not only sold his 1st book but has also is having said book turned into a movie. So, he was kind of in shock when he met Addie, his mate.
Addie, is a being who works not only for the CIA but, also directly for the President of the US as well. She had just been set up by someone not only to shoot someone but also to be shot by others as well. She was hurt & recovering when she met Xander.
This is their story. The plot & the fact that all her weapons are tattooed on her body are why I’m rating this book as pretty good.

Have you read this series yet? I'm telling you, Kathi S. Barton's "Winchester Brothers" series is just snowballing into something epic here. Of course, we have wolf-shifters, that's what the Winchesters are. But then as the mates have started coming it's been wild. Now we have a necromancer with ghosts coming and going as they threaten or help, an FBI agent, and a CIA agent along with the President of the United States within the mix. Oh, and just for added thrills and excitement, one mate has been created not born, and now two living, breathing sigils. Just WOW!! I can't put this series down until I get it all.

Xander like his other brothers was helped out by the family friend Mr. Cartwright. He knew Xander had some stories to tell and made it possible for him to get his foot in the door. However, nobody realized just how great his manuscript would be. Not only is he being published, but he's even got a movie offering already on the table! His plans to tell his family the overwhelming, yet good news gets sidelined when he walks into his parents house and discovers the woman his family saved is his mate. A mate that he never thought to have after losing his one at the age of 17.
Addie's been rescued by the Winchester's and has discovered that they are so much more beyond a family of wolves. Discovering one of the Winchester brother's is her mate is definitely a distraction she doesn't need at the moment, especially with a branch of the government on on her tail trying to kill her.
The government corruption that Addie has discovered goes so much further than an agent who is trying to make his own rules. Addie and Xander will have to navigate the waters carefully, because one wrong move and someone may get hurt.

The mates these boys are pulling in are scary powerful and Xander seems to have gotten one that is special in so many ways. Addie has a certain skill set that makes her desirable, being what she is has its advantages and its downfalls. She did not expect to find a mate so was unprepared when her last mission went FUBAR and a mate was set in her path. Xander is dizzy with disbelief from the reception of his new book, when he goes to tell his family his news he is hit with the scent of his mate. His animal wants to dominate, however the look his mate is giving him says proceed at your own risk. Ms. Barton has a way of making her characters jump off the page and grabbing hold of her readers. The interactions between these two characters are fun, heartbreaking and make you want to just shake them both. I really like how Addie excepted Xnder's step child without blinking an eye and her side kick bug was quite the amusing fellow. I am enjoying this series and with each new story you feel like the characters are old friends making you miss them already when you get to the end.

Winchester brother Xander finds his mate in this latest Winchester Brothers series book. With the exciting news that Xander's new book is to be made into a movie has his head spinning. Then he meets his mate Addie, who is a CIA operative that had a mission go bad and she is wounded. Addie's actually job is as an assassin, answering directly to the president. Though Xander's wolf wants his mate badly, he knows he must tread lightly with this lovely creature.
There was lots of action in this story. With Addie being pursed by bad guys, Xander discovering his new mate is an immortal, plus the fact that this mate was not his first and that he is getting a second chance at happiness. This series hs been so much fun to read.

Sometimes you are given a second chance at true love. Xander lost his mate at 17 years-old to a senseless act of violence. While in the process of adopting Penny he meets Addie and realizes he has been given a second chance at true love. This was another stellar book by Kathi S. Barton and can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I just love all the Winchester's!
That family those people I can't get enough of them.
Now there is this new book of Xander and Addie. It's the same as the others it pulls you right in the book and the story.

I didn't like the writing style. I like to read what the characters say, at least some, not read the MC telling me everytime what they say. It makes all messy, at least for me. At the end I never truly understood completly the story.

I loved this a great read by a great author. Although I have to confess my favorite character was Bug.
