“Great Is Thy Faithfulness” is the theme that runs throughout this collection of Our Daily Bread meditations. Each was selected to remind you that God is with you in all circumstances—and in Him, you will find “strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.” Just as the Scripture-based hymn highlights God’s steadfastness, these meditations encourage you to trust and thank God through all seasons of life.
Great read to learn lessons from the Bible, and for strengthening your faith. Wonderful to do as the book suggests and read one devotional a day. Perfect way to start or end a day.
This collection of readings from Our Daily Bread Ministries is focused on God's faithfulness in all we do. It's packaged for an entire year of daily reading. Each day's entry includes a scripture reading, a devotional or meditative section, and often a poem or prayer at the end. It takes less than 15 minutes to read, but can fill a day with thoughts of God and His love and care for us. The Kindle version provides links to an online Bible for the daily references. "Great is Thy Faithfulness" is a good way to ground each day in the Bible and in thoughts of God.
Solid daily devotion, specifically focused on seeking Gods faithfulness in hardship. Just the right amount of scripture reading as part of the devotion.
Reading and meditating on the Lord's word each morning is so important. It helps set the day in the right way . ODB is a great source of daily inspiration
I found this book encouraging on the whole. Each date of the year has an entry of inspirational writing for that day. I finished a little early (December 18th) but read each entry. Each page has a short read that somehow ties into one or a few scriptures. I would say 85% of them I really found helpful, but 15% were a bit off and there was some doctrinal issues I disagreed with, to be expected when a book consists of different authors and different points of views. On the whole I recommend this book and the reading, but just make sure the main source of when you look for Biblical truth, you are still reading and well grounded in the Bible while using study materials. Still, I really enjoyed the book and bookmarked the pages I especially liked to record and keep to remember the lessons or admonitions in them.
