Slow moving story

This book had so much promise, but the author literally dragged this story along. More suspense and more action were needed rather than stilted language from the characters.

The story idea is ok but the errors just make it really hard to read. I've read all books in series and the stories build on the past stories.

Another great mystery.

I have become addicted to the Madeline Donovan mystery series. As stated in the title, this is the 7th book in the series. Each one of the books introduce things about each character that I feel that the series should be read in order. However, I believe that the introduction of Madeline's history is nicely done with enough information to make each book good to read. Beware that there will be a cliffhanger to introduce the next book.

Can Madeline's relationship with Hugh ever advance to more? Does she want it to? With that thought in mind, Madeline accepts an invitation from him to travel to London. Expecting a relaxing trip with her friend, Madeline is thrown into a new investigation. One that involves murder! Read this book, it's quite good!

I have been waiting for this installment in the Madeline Donovan series with anticipation for about a year & I was not disappointed. Book 7 is an enthralling new mystery that Madeline has to solve with traveling on a ship to London. It was quite the page turner & I just couldn't wait to read more each day. Just when I thought I knew who was involved in the mystery, I was pleasantly surprised as a new twist to the plot unfolded. I can't wait for book 8 & to hopefully see if Madeline let's her heart take over & ends up with Hugh.

I think the author needs to be more careful with research and needs a new editor who can do the same. Mentioning the sinking of the Titanic 21 years before it happens is just sloppy writing and research and then to do the same in regards to passenger planes.
I enjoyed the Madeline Donovan series, but this was just blatant laziness on Ms Kent’s part.

The proofreading/editing of this book makes it almost difficult to read. That being said, it's a good story that kept me entertained until the end. The characters were well defined, the scenes well imagined, without all of the extra details that sometimes make a good story drag. In all, I will definitely read more in this series if given the opportunity.

Intricate plot

Truthfully I found the plot so intricate as to be difficult to follow but I enjoyed most the period details and the sense of menace the author was able to sustain. Shall look for other titles in the series.

Love Madison Kent and her great Madeline Donovan Mysteries. Good stories, good characters and good endings. Can't go wrong. So many mysteries in one story and all tied together in the end. Lots of tension but not violence. Very enjoyable reading.
