Finding a "happily ever after" was hard enough. Keeping it is even harder.
How did Cam disappear from my life? Slowly but steadily. The grueling demands of football, keeping his grades up, and his fraternity don't allow much time for a girlfriend. I didn't mind it so much when we were "undefined", but when we categorized ourselves as boyfriend/girlfriend I expected that to change. I should have known better.
Instead, I find myself spending more time with my friends and Sebastian has been here for me when I need him most. There's always been that "something" between us, but with his string of girls and Cameron in the way, I never really entertained the idea.
One betrayal changes everything. I'm not settling anymore. I'm not doing what's best for everyone else this time. No, this time I'm doing what's best for me.
Anne Mercier is the USA Today and International Bestselling author of rockstars, billionaires, new adult, and mature young adult romance. She was born and raised in Wisconsin and still lives there today.
When she's not writing she enjoys reading amazing books, listening to music, keeping up on all things Avenged Sevenfold and Milo Ventimiglia, chatting with readers and friends, and binging Netflix series.
Really weird ending! What was the point of the struggles if she ends with someone else towards the end. In some ways I can understand this as Cam does certain things to sort the ex out BUT I felt all that battle and ...... I kept expecting him to explain his actions and get her back but no... the other guy.
I did wonder whether in Cam's book (Book 5)we will get an explanation of his actions and that will make it okay but I am not sure that can happen. It is possible he gave up his own happiness for her to live her life without all his issues from his past but it's a massive risk to write it like that as readers I think will feel disappointed and may give up after book 2. As it stands from book 1 and 2 I am afraid only 1 star from me.

So happy she got with bash in the end and not Cameron seems he wasn't as nice as he seemed in the first book! I kinda want another book to know what happens with lex though. Overall really enjoyed this book!

*** I received an advanced copy and chose to review it *** ** 100% spoiler-free review ** * 5 stars *
Oh how I loved this revamped version of The Way With You! I read the first edition and Anne Mercier did a great job of cleaning up the story and expanding it to really give readers a story that is complete and thorough. The Way With You is NOT a standalone......it is a continuation of The Way Back To Me and that story must be read first in order to understand what is happening.
Picking up where The Way Back To Me left off, this story takes off at a fast pace. It's emotional and heartwrenching and you'll experience some serious feels throughout. I loved how Olivia continued to fight and found herself as she went through her trials and tribulations. She's been through the wringer but in the end, she comes out stronger than ever. I realize this review is pretty brief and not detailed but it's the only way to give a proper review without revealing any spoilers....and there are many! So just trust me and take a leap of faith and read the story. It's a great one! 5 stars
Like the revised version of book 1, it is like it is a completely new book. I first read the old version of the book when it first came years ago and the events/bullying within this book are still not easy to read. Throughout it all Liv remains strong and someone all girls should aspire to be. Definitely a must read after you have read book 1.
This is the 2nd part of this awesome story, and carries straight on from where “The Way Back to Me” ends. Olivia grows from strength to strength, and is no walkover. This is a beautifully written tale which is raw, gritty, emotional, heart-wrenching, and a sweet and riveting tale. I highly recommend this gifted authors’ work for all, you will never be disappointed!
DID NOT SEE THIS COMING!! WOW!! i am not usually a fan of the main characters staying together but Anne Rocked this book. Bash is amazing.. not giving anything away but READ THIS BOOK!!!
WTF! I gave the first book in this duo? 5 stars. I loved it! But this one ? Which is the continuation... well I'll just repeat "WTF". I am pissed. I want my money back! Sebastian freakin creeps me out! I never really thought i need the happy ever after but well shit i guess i do! I notice a lot of other reviews mention they don't like the ending and i wish i could have read the whys but they contain spoilers so i hope i can say this to you and not spoil it, she does not end up with the right guy and then it just ends. How can you love one person and then just dump those feelings and love someone else a few days later. 9i mean I’m flighy but this girl makes me feel i am the Mother Theresa of patients and the Aristotle of reason and logic. I am so mad right now that even if this author were to try to fix this in her next book i wouldn't read it. And i know i am just one reader but damn what a rip off. I am so mad that i think Mrs Mercier has completely turned me off books for a VERY long time; AND I LOVE READING!

After book1 in this series I was quite shocked by some of the events in this follow-up. However, I think the author did the right thing by her characters, it was the deeper truth to them all. So though a tad shocking to us readers it was kinda perfect!!!💖
I won't reveal spoilers, as it's annoying & it would ruin this story completely, but the arrival of a person from Liv, Cam & Alexa's past is HUGE!! Heart stopping things occur, so you've been warned!!
This book was full of shocks, heartbreak, friendships made, kept, lost & kindled ... in all it was absolutely wonderful & I highly recommend it to all.
WOW!! I don’t know how I had gone without reading about Cam and Olivia before now. Their story is so good! Though I am glad I did wait since I didn’t know what to expected in this revised version. It allowed me to experience it as a first time reader. And that experience was incredible. Emotional but incredible. I felt so many things as this story unfolded. I was so invested in these characters by the conclusion of book one that by this book I couldn’t read fast enough. Cam and Olivia’s conclusion is an insane ride all the way to the end. And I’m so glad that Anne has more planned for this series because I NEED MORE! ♥️
Why why why did Cam this pansy of a little boy get made into being so much in book 1 only to be a TOTAL disappointment and a disgusting one at that . He makes me sick… after all Liv has been through makes it even worse . Why I just don’t get it? It honestly makes me wanna go change my review on book 1. And then there is Liv she was so strong and had come so far in book 1 and then turned into a doormat in book 2. Sebastian was THE ONLY REASON THIS ONE GOT 2 STARS…. I loved him I loved him from the beginning….
I loved the ending. This couple made sense and it was really good. Laughed, cried, was shocked with horror. All in a novella. Craziness. Can’t wait for Bash’s side.
Wow, this book picks up exactly where The Way With You finished – in the middle of the ‘Stone Drama’ drama where Olivia faces off with Cam and I’m wondering where his caring and sensitive side had gone. The man who’d carefully carried her home each time she lost herself to alcohol, in the face of devastation after the accident that killed her friends. I mourned the loss of him as much as Olivia did, I’m sure.
In the years since I’ve read the first edition of The Way With You, I’ve learned that characters and authors have a unique relationship, and those characters will get their story told, in the way that they want, regardless of the wishes of their readers. This time I was prepared, and, I have to admit, I enjoyed the story, and it’s ending more than last time.
Anne Mercier told Olivia’s gruelling story in the most honest and sensitive way that did justice to Liv, and showed us how true friends react in a crisis. Those who truly love you are there through everything and Olivia certainly found the one who mattered. I am also happy to see that there is another book to come in this series, and I hope it answers the questions still in my head from last time. 4.5 Stars.
NOT FOR ME With all good conscience, I am amending the reviews for this series....I have realized I can’t give five stars just to be giving them or based on how much I loved this author’s other series.... Anne Mercier’s RockStar Series is one of my all time favorite series, but The Way Series is NOT the RockStars......Having said that, I wish I had read The Way Back to Me as a standalone, and then, a little later, read the The Way With You, also as a standalone or not at all....... Maybe I would have enjoyed it more ....Separately, book one was okay.... Together, book 2 ruined book 1 for me..... My personal recommendation if you want to read the series, let a couple of months separate them.......While the HEA was not my HEA, I guess it was Oivia's....I just have to remember Ms. Mercier had a different direction for the characters than I wanted, and this was Olivia's journey, not mine, & an HEA is for the character not me!!! That doesn’t mean I have to like it...but it also doesn’t mean it’s a bad book or series....Reviews are opinions .... I just wish I had read book 1 and skipped Book 2...
OMG.......I loved this story. I was pulled into this story from the beginning and that is where I statyed until I had read every single word that was written. I also had my little mini movie playing along in my head. There are surprises throughout the story, some are large and some are small, some you may see coming while others you won't. But each and everyone of them are hold equal importance with in the book. The emotions that the characters go through, I felt each and everyone of them, some really pulled on my heartstrings, I am not going to lie I sobbed at parts of this book, but I wouldn't change. I went through the emotions along with the characters. There are certain characters and things they did that got me frustrated, if I could of reach into the pages of the book to slap them I would of done. In true Anne Mercier form, she has written a book where you feel as though you are part of that story. It truely is an amazing book one where you also get some of the answers that you may have had, I know it did for me. I highly recommend this author if you haven't read anything she has written why? I recommend this series.
Moving into the next book in the series finds our heroine in even more turmoil. Though Cam seems to have turned a new leaf, there are things that simply don't add up. And her roommate, Cam's sister, sees the same things. By the way, I love Alexa's strength and how she stands up to her brother and for her friend. Sebastian is Olivia's rock through the entire story from the beginning of her college career, and we see how hard he works to make sure she survives an even more horrendously devastating blow.
I'm not one of those people who would have put up with the adult bullying Olivia deals with, but that isn't to say there aren't people out there who are too frightened or confused to do more about it than she did. So even though I don't like what happened to her or how she was taken advantage of, but I understand that these things happen in the real world whether we like that they do or not.
This was another heart-wrenching story that had me in tears and in shock, and I give kudos to this author for never disappointing me. Wonderful job, and with the HEA for our heroine, I look forward to seeing where this story leads next.
I Didn't Love This Edition As Much, Sadly!!😞😢 3.5 Stars 🌟 The Way With You: The Way #2 SECOND EDITION
Having re-read book #1, knowing this one was releasing, so that I could fully immerse myself in the storyline & characters again. I came to a painful conclusion - I 100% preferred the Authors original storylines in both books!!😳😢💔 I know many readers hated the 'Cam twist' in the original version, but for me it was true to his personality, this version made both Cam & Liv's emotions seem too, almost superficial?!🙈
I still enjoyed the book but I'd rather have the original, and in my opinion, more realistic, emotive & explosive reads!😍💔😢💘💥 The whole book felt emotionally disconnected, some how, to me. This has never happened to me before with this Author's work so I'm not worried, I know it's just me & this particular book, well Edition!😟 I'll still be at the front of the queue to buy 'Strings' next month!!😍🎶🎸
I’ve read the original, and now this revised new one. There are some great edits and I am very satisfied with this book. Olivia is a College student with a heavy past. Something tragic happened within about a year prior of this setting of this book. She has learned to adjust and live on, with the help of her old Nemesis, Cameron Stone. Who would of thought they would of clicked and fall in love? But as time is going by and football season is starting, Cameron has become more focused on football, not his relationship, and some of his old High School self is starting to show up. Olivia has been hanging with her friends Lexie and Sebastian, and they’ve been helping the most. But will this be enough or will things get better. On top of that, an old bully from back in High School décides it’s time to show Olivia where she belongs. Things will happen that is OMGWTF?!?!? There’s only one thing for you to do..... and that’s to read the book. I do recommend it.
This review is for the second edition for book two The Way With You.
I loved it! I mean I liked the first edition well enough even with the turn it took but the revisions and the addition of a second epilogue just tied everything together. ❤
I don't want to give too much away because I don't want to ruin it for anyone. But if you were left with your mouth hanging opening at the end of book one and wondering what the hell happens all I can say is Anne answers and Olivia gets her HEA!
For those that might be put off by the other reviews and the first editions of book one and two I'll ask you to keep this in mind, this story, these books are about Olivia 's journey and her finding herself after suffering a major tragedy. She gets her HEA and ends up with who she is meant to be with. And that is all any of us book readers can ask for.
If you have read the original edition of this, you will want to grab the second edition and reread it. Anne Mercier has taken what was already a great book and made it better.
I don't come across many books that make me truly dislike one of the main characters. The things I want to say to Cam, along with knocking some sense into the boy. He has Olivia, but he just can't seem to remember what it is that a boyfriend is supposed to do.
Olivia has been through so much. And this second book puts her through so much more. Tragedy, heartbreak, and more loss. Cam's lack of attention leaves the door open for another. Can they make that step? Should they make that step?
You'll want to grab this to find out. Not excited to see what Book 3 (the conclusion) will have in store for Cam, Olivia, Sebastian, and Alexa.
The Way With You has brought out so much back and forth within me! When you read the story you will understand. I love this story and the updated version made the storyline and the flow much better.
This part takes up where the previous book leaves off, Cam and Liv are on rocky ground. Be prepared for your heart to beat so hard it will pump out of your chest, mainly from the various emotions that will come through! The curveball in this story will throw you for a loop that you will love but possibly feel torn about. Torn in the way that you are happy and good with where it goes, but will wonder for sure if Cam and Liv’s love will prevail? Or will the past tear them apart?
Now open the book and get to reading, you won’t want to miss the next part of Liv’s story and her way back to where she should be.
Olivia has grown over the past year. Cam helped her find a new normal but when it comes to football or spending time with Olivia, it's football that has his attention. Allison is back even worse than high school. She will do anything she can to put Olivia where she thinks she belongs. The attacks are just verbal anymore and Cam isn't paying attention. Thankfully Sebastian is there to keep Olivia safe. Olivia is still with Cam but thinking about Sebastian and feeling all sorts of things that you shouldn't feel towards your best friend.
I read this book in the original version and felt the reworking filled in some gaps and added more detail. I can't wait for the next book look forward to learning more about Alexa secrets and also hoping that someday Cam meets a girl that will steal his attention from football.
I couldn't put this down! You know an author knows what they are doing when you are staying up late because you can't put the book down.
The sequel picked up where the first book left off, and it gave us more depth as to the "relationship" between Cameron Stone and Olivia. It gives more of a behind the scenes of the torment that Liv had to endure at the hands of Cameron and his then girlfriend Allison in high school. It took the reader through all of the emotions that Liv faced then, and still faces while going to college. Sebastian has always been there for Liv, and she just never realized that her knight in shining armor was by her side the entire time. There were plenty of times that you could feel as if you were part of the story feeling all of the emotions, going through all of the scenarios right along with them.
I started reading this and very quickly became confused as it had been a while since reading book 1 (The way back to me) but after refreshing myself with book 1 every heartbreaking detail of Livs story came back to me. I loved the dynamic between Liv Lex and Sebastian, i love how you can see and feel the relationship between Liv and Bash grow and the relationship between Liv and Cam deteriorate. Allison although a nasty piece of work is so well written as the bully and the glimpse of Cam the bully from back home in Destiny. I think Cams POV at the end gives a good touch so we can see his reasoning behind things and there was genuine feelings there. Cannot wait for book 3 to find out what and who Alexa has been doing.
If you are looking for a good angsty young adult book full of drama and swoony college guys look no further. Sebastian and Cameron can bring a girl to their knees with a sexy wink and smile. Which will Olivia choose? It was an emotional rollercoaster with her and Cam. He saved her from a boozy downfall in book one and was on the path to winning her heart until her high school nemesis showed up and boy what a hurricane Allison turned out to be. I loved how her friendship with Bash and his protective swoony self made her feel safe. She needed a great friend in her life since Cam liked to be an absent boyfriend. Cant wait for Sebastians story.
I LOVE the rewrites on both book one and book two of this series. I was trying to place what felt different about these compared to the first versions and I’ve come up with the main character comes off as a stronger young woman in these than the first. She seems more sure of herself, even with the self doubt. I would recommend this series to just about anyone but this book to everyone who’s read the first one. Sometimes rewrites of a book come out better because of where the author is or what the characters have to say after a book has been finished. This is no exception.
This the second book in this series. You don't want to miss it. Just remember you need to read the first book first. Liv is finally trying to get her life back but stuff keeps happening. She wants to be with Cam but he is just being his selfish self again. Liv finally ask for a break and then things start to hear up again. Will her and Cam finally work things out? Or will she move on? What happens now that Allison has return? So many questions you just need to read to find out what happens next.
Woah! You jump straight back into the drama in this one! It picks up perfectly where book one finished.
I'm normally pretty good at figuring out the general direction of a story but this one threw me a bit. I went in thinking drama, redemption and happiness but I was waaay off base.
Don't get me wrong, the story was great- there WAS drama (a lot of it), there WAS happiness and some super hot moments.
I'm trying hard not to leave any spoilers so I will say: It was just different from what I had expected, not the ending I thought it would be but I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I actually give this a 3.5. It was good, but I found myself get too frustrated with the characters. I don't want to give anything away, but there were too many times that Olivia should have gone to the police or school officials. Knowing how Allison was in high school, Cameron should have taken Olivia's complaints more seriously. I think Olivia ended up exactly where she needed to be. The ending was the best the part. When Olivia gives the umbrella back because she doesn't need it anymore, that was just the best!
After reading book one, I couldn’t wait to find out what happens next. Book two, took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions. So many turns in the storyline. Jaw dropping moments. I paced the room not knowing what was going happen next.....I didn’t see any of this coming! I’m in shock and left speechless.
Think this is my favourite book by this author so far. Can’t wait to read more.
