How do you live in a culture where the worldview conflicts with Christianity?
Learn from the Apostle Paul as he presents his beliefs to the most powerful court in Athens and settles among the Greco-Romans of Corinth--cultures that valued wealth and class, worship of multiple gods, and decadent pleasures above all else.
In this sixteenth volume of That The World May Know series, take a tour through the land of the Bible and discover how to live in your present-day Athens or Corinth--a dechristianized Western world--in a way that keeps your faith strong and glorifies God.
This discovery guide will take you on an interactive journey.

THAT THE WORLD MAY KNOW(R)
Join renowned teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan as he guides you through the land of the Bible. In each lesson, Vander Laan illuminates the historical, geographical, and cultural context of the sacred Scriptures.
Filmed on location in the Middle East and elsewhere, the That the World May Know(R) film series will transform your understanding of God and challenge you to be a true follower of Jesus.
In this second study on Paul's missionary journeys, Vander Laan takes readers to Athens and Corinth to learn how Paul interjects Greek rationalism, alongside the teachings of the Torah, to convert new followers in the agora. After leaving Athens for Corinth, Vander Laan describes the ways in which the early church learned to find unifying values and principles that set them apart from the general population of Corinth and explains why it was necessary to hold themselves to higher and different standards as representatives a new faith. I'm still not in agreement with some of Vander Laan's theology, but the book paired with the video series gives a Sunday School class an excellent lens through which to see the ancient world as it was and as it is now. The video portion will make you want to visit Greece again and again.
I have really enjoyed this series, I haven't done them all yet but what I have i have loved learning the history of our Lord. Sorry to see it end, but I still have to get caught up yet.
