Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

Didn’t even want to finish reading

While giving some different perspective into Shay’s character by chapter 6 I was bored. I do not understand why Shay and Brownstone need two different series. Allison having one is understandable but while Shay does some jobs without James I personally don’t want to re-read part of a Brownstone book especially when the writing is mundane compared to MJA’s pacing, sorry Ms. Carr.

5 Keep It Fun. Keep It Dead Stars

Reload Faster is the third book in the I Fear No Evil series by Martha Carr and Michael Anderle.

Well now. That is shocking. I am entirely flummoxed. I was not expecting Carr and Anderle to drop such heavy information. There's another extraterrestrial alien race that has already visited Earth? And all we know is from the artifacts connected to these mysterious aliens, is that something or someone is 'Already Here'?? Oof. Wow. Where will this twisty trail of intrigue lead our hired killer turned tomb raider next?

I liked that variation in jobs and adversaries she faced throughout this book. It's interesting to experience the authors weaving history and Oriceran fiction together to craft such intricate back stories.

I wonder why Yulia was at that seed vault.. Was it truly happenstance? Was she set up for failure? What about the Elf, Izzie, at Allison's school? What does it seem like her orphan backstory is fake? Why does she seem so familiar to Shay? These are the questions plaguing my mind as thus third book concludes.

It's hilarious to witness Peyton struggling to conquer pizza. Him and Lily's friendship is precious. I wish there was another book series that just showcased them two. They could rock their own storyline.

What will become of these stones? Who is Father O'Banion really? How does he know Correk? Will we get to see Correk starring more in this series? I would absolutely desire to spend more oage time with my favorite Light Elf and Fixer. I need information on the past 20 years of his, Yumfucks, and Leira's lives. And any possible offspring they may have popped up between now and then!!

Reload Faster - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Tomb Raider for hire Shay Carson's on a mission at La Brea Tar Pits, with her back-up tech guy Peyton in the nearby Museum's warehouse in this spectacular new third episode in the I Fear No Evil series by Master of the Fantasy Universe, Michael Anderle and his co-ruler Martha Carr, which reunites the eager reader with the characters from Michael's The Unbelievable Mr Brownstone series in a brilliant new way.

While Brownstone and adopted daughter Alison, (hunted by the evil Drow) feature briefly as the latter goes to a Hogwarts-like school of magic as a boarder, the action is mainly focused around Shay as her mission then takes her to Wilshire Boulevard at 3am to hunt underground for a magic amulet, part pf a set of jewellery with magic properties, supposedly buried there. Other tasks include delivery of medicines for 'personal' issues that earns Shay $50,000 - and a rooftop battle - and retrieval of the Green Dragon Crescent Blade from Mexico, with assistance from Brownstone (who's there on a bad-guy killing-spree of his own), to get the charmed weapon back to the US.

One thing's for sure - there's never a dull moment when Shay Carson's around and this fantastic tale from Martha and Michael proves it's a 5-star thrill-fest for all Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones-type stories fans. I guarantee you'll love all the series so why not get them all today!

Shay is certainly making discovery after discovery here.

She's also getting even better at her 'new' job - though that's no surprise, given what her old one was! Lol

I've really enjoyed discovering what she was getting up to, in all those mysterious 'jobs' she'd disappear off to, in TUMB, too!

But, even more than that, I'm absolutely loving the gradual changes that are happening to Shay, as she gets to know Peyton, and Lily, more!

I'm absolutely loving this new, to me, series, and can't wait to read more of the books, in this series, as well as with TUMB (that's 'The Unbelievable Mr Brownstone', to any of you who haven't yet discovered Michael Anderle's series - if you haven't, please go get it, as it's brilliant, and goes with this series like pen goes with paper!)

I've mentioned in previous reviews, about yet another series, that also goes with these two, and that's Alison's story, in: School of Necessary Magic'.

Well, according to my chronological reading list, for the Oriceran Universe, this's where I jump in to it, to start reading Alison's part of the story, so, as I'm anxious to start reading, I'll be going to book one: 'Dark is Her Nature', to discover if it really IS!

So, once I've read this first book, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think about it!

Nothing really wrong

Still liking the concept of following 3 different characters in their Iran series and finding the connections and interconnections, but this one seemed more disjointed than the others, and left me searching for a why. I is it Lily? And her not being a part of the Brownstone saga? Or the change of Shay into a good person?
Will continue to read, but not sure what i want to see for the future. Did like the bit with Peyton and the online dating, lack of background etc. I think I'd like to see him get the experience of Mace, but I don't think that's the issue.

I need more!!!

You get to the end of a book, and if you think, where’s the next one, you then know, that it was a damn good book. Martha Carr delivers every time and just makes you want more! Carr has certainly achieved it yet again with Tomb Raider Shay Carson and her unquestionable thirst for money. Shay’s character is developed further in this book and we see her take on a young girl of magical origins as a protégé. Where this leads to will be very interesting to see.
I do have to say that I absolutely love reading the author notes and Michael Enderle’s notes and have read them in every book from the Oriceran Universe.

Why Am I Thinking About New Family, Friends And .... Brownstone?

Shay is confused. She is a pro, and a pro only thinks about the job and payday. However, she finds that she has feelings for friends and adopted family. Strangely, she also is developing romantic feelings for Brownstone. I like the action, snarky dialogue, romance, and crossover among books and series. Shay has earned a good rep as a tomb raider and is well on her way to achieving her goals. I look forward to the next book..

Great Siri’s

A great series with a great cast of characters. And urban fantasy action adventure series that is one of many series in this magical universe. Characters cross over into multiple books. Main characters from this book are peripheral characters and others main characters from other books are peripheral characters in this one at Cetera. Magic has come back to the human world. It is in the near future and earth once again has magic.
Check out all the series by the mini car riders and offers

The books are definitely improving in this series, even if the titles make no sense. However, the pacing was off and the writing is chunkier. We are seeing the same scenes from Shay's POV that we saw in the UBB books that were from Shay's POV which is tiring. In the Alison Brownstone series, Lily appears a few times or is mentioned consistently, we get to see how Lily met Shay in this book.
Peyton was also hilarious, trying to make the perfect pizza involves trial and error, and a few scorch marks!

An excellent story, one that is getting closer and closer to… The Truth. Well as much truth as there is in a fiction book. With a new character and some random drama this one has a good setup for a great book. That said I did have an issue with it.

Editing. A few spelling mistakes and incorrect word usage can cost a star in a review. Plus the pacing of the book wasn’t as good as the first couple in the series.

Overall, well worth your time and really a fun read. One I would recommend checking out for any fan of one of the best tomb raiders out there.

Another good read.

I was looking for more of Shay's point of view in her interaction with Brownstone. That being said you did write a five star book in my lowly opinion, with enough action , back story , and insight into Shays life aside from Brownstone. I have been a fan of both universes ( Kutherian + Oricerian--- hope I spelled that right) Keep up the good work/fight and I'll keep buying and reading. Best of fortune to you and yours.

Enjoying this series

In this book What opens up more to Lily and Peyton. Runs several jobs for the prof even though she's asking more and more questions. Her missions are getting rocker, but they are exciting. I'm hoping she starts working with James more. Not because she's a man, but I would love for her to have a love interest. Tell mostly from her POV, but we do get the POV of some of the others. Looking forward to book four.

Good read

An interesting and entertaining new view of Shay. It just that I’m getting a headache trying to match up the timeline with the Brownstone series. I hope to see how Lily figures into the family group, and that means not having something dire happen in the her in the future. Looking forward to the next episode of both the Tomb Raider, and Bounty Hunter.

Shay is staying busy!

Whether fighting skeletons or being buried alive in a lake, nothing seems as complicated as trying to get her assistant to act right or trying to be a mentor to a teenager, throw in a cat- just for fun! Another gun adventure with Shay, who is still adjusting to those pesky feelings.

Another great read!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Some may find too much overlap with other series but I don’t see it. I find this book stands well on its own with good character development and appropriate ties to the other series. Shay is coming on!

Good story with a few surprises

Lots of good things going on in this one. Shay is tomb raiding and hitting a bit more magic than usual. Lily is added to the team and we can expect some good stuff from her I'm sure. Eating for the next one.

Shay is at it again

Payton is trying to make pizza!!! We he is trying. Shay goes out on more hunts and one is to find a stone that looks like the one she has. Read to find out if Payton finally makes an edible pizza and what all Shay gets into!!

Nice addition to the series, I'm dropping one star because the timeline is significantly behind the main thread which is kind of annoying if you are reading all the books at once. Still fun read and it wouldn't be an issue if you were reading this series alone.

Enjoyable story

I like the Shay books. I like watching her grow a little more internal life with each story. She is kick-ass on the outside, always pushing her boundaries there, but a void in her inner life. I'm glad she's finally letting other people in.

Mostly boring

I really like the Brownstone e-books and I wanted to like the Shay e-books however this one is probably my last. The first 60% was just boring. I would read a chapter, the read 2 or 3 other e-books before trying it again.

Shay, Peyton, Lily

Shay inherits a new team member, Lily. She joins Peyton on the team. Peyton is learning more of the warehouse locations for the team.

Characterization and plotting are excellent.

I'm enjoying watching Shay be badass, then trying to decide what she wants to do or not do with Brownstone. Lily's an acceptable addition to the team, so far.

kindle unlimited, always something a bit 'off' to the ones lately {that includes the brownstone ones and definitely the leira ones}, and the 'this is definitely out of order and should have been done before some of the brownstone ones' confusing to try to think back a couple or even more books to pick up the thread/thoughts/story line is highly aggravating/confusing BUT since 3 on amazon means negative try not to go there at all, even with all that and even when the blurb didn't seem to have much to do with the storyline, can see the split stories {up to certain point} but when they are so out of sync it literally gave me a headache, AND in this one Lily comes on the scene which doesn't intersect with Brownstone or Alison ones for LONG time, plus still getting the spelling and grammar and other issues in addition to all that, so dropping them ALL to a TWO OR ONE. NO reason to have him in book 1 blurb, AGAIN, as with the School of Necessary Magic, which is even MORE way out of balance/sequence {Alison has already graduated in those books AND went on elsewhere AND already 2.0 of THOSE & Ward of the FBI/School of Necessary Magic}, THIS happens in book 3 of Shay/Fear No Evil while supposedly happening in book 14 of Mr Brownstone for the Cambodia/Rod of Supray so THIS story hasn't even HAPPENED yet as of Brownstone 15 {whenever THAT is}.

Killer for hire needs to retool her skill set. Find a new career with a little less risk. Meet Shay Carson – Tomb Raider for hire. Good with weapons, works badly with others, can leave at a moment’s notice and not thrown by magic. She’s already making a name for herself on the dark web. Rich people in search of treasure willing to pay to send someone else. Look out world… Shay’s got a new job and she’s always been a good worker.

This is a mess. It's like a Shay novella grafted on to Brownstone #2-3.

It's also completely boring. Shay's tomb-raids read like errands. They're as exciting and consequential as grocery-shopping.

Merge the series.
