An enthralling read that that pulled me in from page one. It is action-packed, breath-taking, suspenseful and brilliant. The characters are well developed and the chemistry between them is steamy and the sex scenes are off the charts. I absolutely loved it! i read this book as part of an arc program. This story is about a lawyer named Jules and a businessman named Trevor. Trevor is a playboy and built his business from nothing, although he did get some help from a shady source when he was starting out that is coming back to haunt him. When Trevor sees Jules at the gym, he wants her and asks her for a drink. They go and have a nice time, but Jules won't go home with him. Trevor is interested in Jules and finds himself wanting to see her again. Jules is a workaholic who lost her only boyfriend when she chose work over him and she decided she will not repeat that mistake. When Jules meets Trevor, she is attracted to him and decides to give it a shot. When Trevor learns danger is approaching, he does what he can to solve the problem and protect Jules. I liked this story, i thought Trevor was scared someone would get hurt because of him and he kept people away. I think Trevor was lonely and when he met Jules, she was what he wanted and he really cared for her. Good one.

This is the second book I've read by Athena, the first being Hardened, ( great book) I really liked this story, It is really enjoyable and romantic with an interesting, well written storyline that pulled me in and kept me engrossed from the first chapter. I loved the chemistry between Trevor and Jules, the main characters and also the way they interacted with each other. The Mafia background added an extra twist making this a page turner. It also gave food for thought on weather anyone deserves a second chance in love or life. Trevor turns out to be very protective due to his background so in my book not a bad guy. It's got quite a fast pace that speeds up as the plot thickens, wrapping up is rather speedy and leaves you hoping there's going to be a follow on.
This is a Must read for those looking for an escape in a romantic plot

Good concept but not fully developed

The story had a good concept but 8r wasn't fully developed. Jules had chosen her career over love before so when she met Trevor she knew she would not make that mistake again. Trevor is a self-made millionaire who borrowed money from the mob to start his business, and though he paid it back ten fold, they still had a hold on him. A chance meeting brings them together but will threats from the mob keep them apart?

The story line was great but I think that there were numerous missed opportunities to develop not only the story line but the characters.

Trevor, successful in his own right, cannot get away from the mafia, who he borrowed from to get his company going. Despite having paid everything off, they continue to come to him for favor after favor. For this reason, he never gets close to anyone, for fear of what could happen to them due to his relationship with the mafia. Then, he meets Jules. She is hard for him to resist. Will he keep her away from him? How can he change things so he can be with her?

Trevor is a successful business man but at the start needed help from the mafia now they won't let it go and keep wanting favours, even though he cleared his debt with them. He lives his life but never lets anyone close as he knows they will go after them if he refuses. When he meets Jules it's hard for him to resist not wanting more and he tries to keep away from but he didn't expect her to be so strong and determined. This has some great characters with a plot that could branch out, I really enjoyed reading this as things are not always what they seem...….

My only complaint is that this story could've been developed a bit more to elongate the story. Other than that there is a nice balance between the steamy scenes and the slightly suspenseful storyline. The writing flowed smoothly, as did the storyline.

Trevor never had any plans to settle down, he hadn’t found anyone to hold his attention and feared for anyone’s safety that got to close to him. Jules is a workaholic who had given up love for work. A chance meeting brought them together and their desires for each other was unmatched for them. Trevor had to deal with his past to ensure their future.

I thought this book was a pretty good read. I liked the author's writing style and I liked the characters. The love scenes are steamy. The plot is good but it seemed to wrap up pretty fast leaving some unanswered questions, like what exactly is the Alabaster Club and has Trevor just jumped from the frying pan into the fire. I am curious to see where this series is going. 3.75 stars.

A quick and very nice reaf.

I like Jules and Trevor. They are nice characters, and go well together. I like what Jules does at the gym to relieve her stress. I like the plot and how Trevor resolves the threat against Jules and him. I recommend this for anyone looking for a light and quick read.

Nice

Jules hurt over her breakup with her ex, Trevor never wanted more than a one night stand. However when they meet the attraction was instant. Both decide that they need to be one another but Trevor’s past threatens their romance. Trevor is not going down without a fight.

These three stories were great quick reads. The characters in each story were from different backgrounds and were likeable couples with great chemistry. Binge read these books and the prequel over a weekend. Looking forward to the next book from this author.

This book is good.

I wish it was a little more developed, and I find that the progression of the events is too far unrealistic.

Exciting

Drama and suspense hold you captive throughout this book. Hot sexy Trevor is an enigma and Jules is a sassy smart beautiful woman. Together they're combustible.

A well written hot story that moves quickly and smoothly with interesting characters steamy scenes and a good plot. Trevor a businessman borrowed from the mafia to get his business started doesn't let anyone close for fear of putting them in danger. Even though he has paid his debt they seem to think they are still entitled to favors. Jules a workaholic lawyer who has been hurt before meets Trevor at the gym and the chemistyis hot. Will this two get past their own issues? Can he deal with his past to truly enjoy a future? A good slightly suspenseful steamy read.
