Stalked by a vampire. Propositioned by another. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
A supernatural stalker was not on Daisy’s bucket list. When best friend, Ella, puts her in touch with the new head of London’s bloodthirsty underbelly, she’s drawn into a world she wanted no part of. Gavin isn’t what she expected. He gives her his word he’ll look into her vampire problem, but he also offers something else entirely. The spark in his bright green eyes is impossible for her to resist.
Ella’s aversion to vampires causes a major rift between the best friends. Daisy can’t help but wonder what really happened the night Ella killed Gavin’s predecessor. With her life threatening to unravel, someone wants her. Badly enough they’ll stop at nothing to get their hands on Daisy.
Will she survive the night? Or will she succumb just to end her misery?

She did it again! Sarah Bailey's After Dark Series is AMAZING. I can't express how much I love her style of writing. When I say that simple writing is an offensive expression, it isn't. Her characters draw you in, and it's especially effective in Vampire's Kiss since Gavin is a Vampire! His story with Daisy is so enticing and sexy. I couldn't put the book down at all. The pace was great. Sarah does a good job at setting the scene, but honestly, you don't really need it because the characters' stories are so powerful that you kind of forget where you are. I would give this one 6/5 stars if I could!
There needs to be 6 stars for this novel! "Vampire's Kiss" caresses the reader's eyes with sultry vampires, hot, magnetic sex, and a rush of the wild supernatural side, that only the author can convey. If you don't have this book in your library, you need to go and get it NOW! Bravo to another masterpiece, written by the ever-fantastic Sarah Bailey!
What more could a girl ask for except for a hot spicy sexy vamp make your toes curl in your panties melt this is definitely a very sexy exciting book I definitely recommend this book in the series so far is very good
Another brilliant story delivered by Sarah. This time we get to know Daisy and Gavin.
I really liked Daisy's resilience. She's strong, smart and sweeter than she pretends. I'm gonna be honest and admit I didn't like Gavin for most of the book, but it's not Sarah's fault. It's quite the opposite: she made a fabulous job bringing this vampire to life. At first he's not a vampire in love like we're used to see everywhere. Gavin is cold-hearted and lacks humanity and only understands the world through vampire lenses. That's what made me reluctant to like Gavin during three quarters of the book, as well as the way he mistreats and punishes Daisy -no matter how much she might like it. But after all it's his lack of human interaction what makes him behave this way and Daisy is the key to his change. She gives him a reason to use and open up his heart again. After a terrible event I won't mention because of spoilers, he changes completely and starts to be amazing and caring for Daisy.
Now onto the tea: steamy and lustful sex alert (!) Not to mention the funny bits when Daisy is kidnapped by werewolves and Dalia calls them. There's a surprise in that scene and it's so well written, you'll totally laugh! I loved that we get to know as well Jack and Neave a bit more and the dynamics in their London clan. I enjoyed this story and the action scenes as well. It's a high tension book. I recommend you all to buy Vampire's Kiss now and start reading. You'll love it.
Vampire's Kiss is a heady cocktail of adventure, romance and fantastic character development.
What impressed me the most about the second entry in the After Dark series is the author's restraint in keeping the protagonists from Demon's Destiny out of the action. This is Daisy and Gavin's story, and despite the firepower Ella and Lukas bring to the table, for me that distinction worked brilliantly.
Gavin and Daisy are sort of a mess at the start of this story. Which really humanised them for me. They are not cookie cutout heroes, rather real people trying to be the best versions of themselves.
Gavin's darkness made me uncomfortable at times, and made me apprehensive about his motivations. But for me that is what a three dimensional character should be.
Sarah further develops the fantastic world building here, exploring the vampire community, its hierarchy, and the strengths and limitations the vampires of her world must abide by.
Add to that a gruesome yet well executed payoff in the third act, and you have a story that left me eager to come back for Witching Night, the third novel in her series.
The dialogue sparks with authenticity, the cameos feel intrinsic to the story instead of an add on, and all in all it was a great ride!
Daisy is pretty good. And I like her and Gavin together much more than book one. Plot was slightly more put together as well. And still some sultry sexy scenes. I think I just really like the idea of Gavin’s green eyes though. 😬
Oh my goodness. Where do I begin? Having read Demon’s Destiny (book 1 in the After Dark series), I was completely enamoured with Ella and Lukas and was absolutely ecstatic knowing that Daisy and Gavin would be taking centre stage in book 2…but nothing could have prepared me for the sheer awesomeness and intense sexual chemistry that literally steamed from this god damn book.
Daisy and Gavin are insanely intense. I have to admit I fell hard for these two upon their first encounter together. And I mean, I knew I’d need a crash helmet, a seatbelt and protective gear to going forward with this book, it’s THAT kind of intense. And those scenes? Every scene is full of desire, undeniable lust, passion and ferocity! Honestly, I’ve never fantasized more about a vampire before this book. I literally could not put it down.
So here’s the setup, Daisy is being stalked by a vampire. Having only recently discovered a whole new existence of supernatural beings after being dragged into it, she seeks the support of both Ella and Lukas who send her over to someone who can help nip her stalker problem in the bud. Enter Gavin, the meticulous, intense, savvy and more than devastatingly handsome, vampire ruler of London. And well…Daisy proves to be sinfully feisty and far too brazen than any average human and naturally, this intrigues him. It intrigues him to the point of maddening temptation and the uncontrollable urge to break and possess her.
I loved the passion between them, every interaction was electric and heart racing. There were moments of fierce possession, endearing moments, emotional moments, oh and, let’s not forget dangerous moments. All the things needed to get you lip and nail biting as you turn from one page to the next.
Sarah Bailey delivers. She delivers hard in Vampire’s Kiss. The words flowed off the pages beautifully, the pacing was perfect. She really knows how to tell a story and stir the strongest emotions and another thing I’ve noticed is the subtle planting of seeds she does to prepare us for what’s next. That is something I’ve grown to expect and anticipate with a grin.
Honestly, wholeheartedly, I LOVED this book. I loved Gavin and Daisy and I would happily revisit this book again and again and again. I knew that After Dark was going to be a fantastic series after reading Demon’s Destiny, but after reading Vampire’s Kiss, it’s easily worked its way up my top ten paranormal romance series to date.
And last but not least, on a final note, I can’t wait for Witching Night! Thank you Sarah Bailey for delivering this scorching sequel!
After her friend, Ella from Demon's Destiny (Book 1 in the series), meets her soul partner, Daisy suddenly is thrust into a world of otherworldly beings. However, being best friends with the daughter of hell has perks. When she becomes the target of a vampire stalker, Daisy is sent to Gavin, the head of the London vampires for protection. From their first meeting, there is something that draws Daisy to Gavin. When their relationship develops, that makes Daisy an even bigger target to the underworld who will stop at nothing to keep them apart.
For full disclosure, I have to admit that Daisy was my favorite character from the first book. I am glad that Bailey did right by her in this book. She is the type of best friend that any girl would kill to have. She is loyal as hell and is willing to do anything to protect those that she loves. She is there for Ella, even when Ella is not there for her. Her relationship with Gavin is intensely hot but does not diminish her character. In fact, Gavin is stronger because of Daisy.
While Bailey did a pretty good job developing action in her first book, this book blows that one out of the water. The action scenes were fantastic. Usually in books of this genre, the author gives vague descriptions of what their otherworldly characters are capable of doing. That is not the case in this book. Bailey gives vivid descriptions of fights and Gavin's abilities. This made the book seem to fly by.
This is a series to watch. I cannot wait for the next installment.
This is well written considering the author admits it takes only a few weeks to write a book. I actually liked Daisy the character from book 1. This book is about her libido running wild with the Head Vampire of London. As usual neither admit their true feelings but this book felt more finished than book 1. You are also introduced to new characters backgrounds so imagine future stories about the. Good work, lots of raunchy sex scenes which would appeal to YA but I am currently on a reading binge on murder/mysteries so maybe not the right demographic audience to review.
Originally I wasn't TOO excited about the book being with Daisy (last FMC's best friend), but in the end I actually liked this book much more. It helped that the relationship between the two main characters had better progress, it didn't feel so forced. And I was quite surprised at how raw the kidnapping scene was.
The plot to this one was really good. I only guessed one of the twists which was great for a supernatural book. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars was the sex scenes not being as enjoyable as from the first book. A little hesitation in going full into BDSM.
