One summer.
Three months.
Ninety days spent learning every inch of Sam Matthews’ body.
We agreed to no strings when our time was up.
We promised we could both handle this.
I lied.

I never expected to fall for this man or this town.
This was just supposed to be a stop on the way to starting my real life.
But now, time is up and everything feels wrong.

He says I’m too young.
He says I’m too innocent.
He says he’s not the type to settle down.

He’s fixing my newly inherited home.
Now, I’m fixing his frame of mind.

Fixing Him is book two in the Fixing series by Miranda Elaine. I loved the first book in this series, Fixing Her, and was so looking forward to this next one. I regret that it took me so long because I think I enjoyed it even more than the first one. These can be read as a stand alone with no problems whatsoever, but the characters do recur and you would definitely be missing out by not starting on the first book.

Montana Rhodes was twenty two years old. Her grandfather whom she barely knew has passed away and left her his lake house. Montana has recently finished college and is going to take the summer to get the house upgraded so she can sell it and decide what she wants to do with her life after that. When the contractor shows up to give her an estimate, it only takes Montana one look and the summer is starting to look a lot better!

Sam Matthews is thirty one years old and is a foreman working for his best friend, Asher Kade with Kade Construction. Sam spends his days working and his evenings either working on his own house, or looking after his disabled father. His father was severely hurt nine years previous in a work accident and Sam is all that he has to help him out. They are all each other has. When Sam looks back at all his father did for him, there is no question that he will do all he can for his dad. Sam has no time in his life for relationships. He has no more to give. He makes sure any woman he hooks up with knows ahead of time that it’s one night only, nothing more.

The first time Sam saw Montana, he was instantly attracted to her. But she is much too young for him. Plus, she’s their new client. But he can’t get her off his mind and Montana has no hesitation letting him know she is interested. So a deal is struck. Montana is only here for the summer and Sam doesn’t do relationships. So they’ll enjoy each other for the three months she’s going to be there, they’ll have fun. Then part ways. It sounds like the perfect plan. Except you know that things rarely work out the way you think they will.

“She calms me.”
“She’s pure joy, a joy I didn’t know was missing from my life until this moment.”

Montana is so full of life. She has an adorable little tiny pet pig named Kermie. She seems to spread her happiness wherever she goes. Slowly, her light starts to break through the darkness that Sam has kept around him. He can’t think of anything but her. And when things take a turn for the worse with his father, it’s Montana that gives him peace, that calms the storm inside of him.

“You, Sam, it’s only you I see.”

strawberry candies

Montana knows what she agreed to. What she didn’t know was how hard it was going to be to walk away. But that was the deal. She’s determined to pack away every one of the memories she has with Sam to keep her warm after their time is done. She had a plan, sell the house, then move on! That’s what she has to do, that’s what she agreed to. She just hadn’t planned on the part that included a broken heart.

little pet pig

First, I loved Montana. And her adorable little piglet! She brightened every page she was on. And Sam! Beautiful, lonely Sam. He thinks that this is all he can ever have, one night stands, work, and caring for his father. But little by little Montana works herself into his heart. She makes him wonder if maybe, just maybe, there might be room for more.

These two were so adorable together. I loved them both so much. Their chemistry was off the charts hot! Montana was so good for Sam. They balanced each other out. She was young, yes. But I feel like she was mature way beyond her years. And Sam needed her vibrancy to remind him how to let loose a little bit.

kissing in the rain

I pretty much loved everything about these two and have fallen in love with this small town. This had the absolute best epilogue. I can’t wait to start the next book, Fixing Us, which is Gabe and Leigh’s story.

Oooo What an enjoyable read!

This is my first book by Miranda Elaine and I really enjoyed it.
Fixing Him was so cute, you guys!

Montana was so funny! I knew I was going to like her from the very first chapter..She was so quirky and fun! She was like a breath of fresh air with her adorable fun- free spirit nature.

Sam is a macho dude through and through.

I loved the easy going pace of the story yet someone you don't realise that you are actually getting quite invested into the characters.

If you haven't read this book and you are in mood for a fun filled yet moments of steamy romance, Fixing Him is it.

Miranda Elaine is back with another incredible book surrounding some pretty amazing, unforgettable people and I just couldn't get enough of all of her words. Fixing Him was a beautifully told romance that stung my heart in moments yet left me with the biggest, cheesiest smile in other moments. Miranda totally delivered the best She has to date with this book and in particular these addicting characters.... and you would never be able to tell thisus only her second book ever!

He's not looking for love. He's older...more jaded. She's a free spirit, younger, never settling long too long but still wanting....more. When she inherits a home that needs some tlc, he is the one that walks into her life to help and shakes everything up. She just wants him to let go and a live a little, especially if it means she gets to be under him. And he, well he doesn't know what he wants exactly but what he does know is he wants her, even if he is denying himself. Until certain moments shatter everything... now he has to decide if he'll let her fix him.

Sam and Montana lit up my heart and my kindle from the moment that they met. Undeniable chemistry. Unforgettable moments. Magnetic chemistry. These two were perfection in every single opposite way.. Gah y'all, their story was so beautifully, complicatedly done but in a way I couldn't get enough.

And y'all, I just knew Sam was going to be a tough case (and I was right- he totally was!) and while he did put up a good fight, our girl Montana here and her sweet, adorable, wanna give him kisses pet piggy stole his heart... even if it took a little shaking up and rattling on his end to see the light.

Miranda Elaine might be new to the authoring scene but dang is she so so freaking amazing at it. And once again, like the last book, I'm on pins and needles to see what she gives us next.

I highly recommend this book.

There are some books you read that just feel good. Those are the books that you never want to have end. Those are the books that take ahold of you in their own special way. Those are the books that stick out because of what they bring out in you while you’re reading and the experience they give you as the story unfolds.

It is those kinds of feel good books that I live for. It’s those kinds of books that give me everything. It’s those kinds of books that have me coming back for more of that particular authors books’ because I want and need more of that good reading feeling in my life.

Fixing Him by Miranda Elaine was one of those kinds of books.

It was phenomenal in every possible way. It was fantastically written and crafted from start to finish. It was a book that made me smile, made me laugh my ass off, and just completely stole my heart piece by piece with its characters. It just felt good to read and experience. I can’t say that enough.

Fixing Him was the perfect sweet romance.

This book was all kinds of wonderful. It was a book I could not put down from the moment I started it, and when I was pulled away from these characters and this world, all I could think about was when I could get back to them. I loved every part of this story and being back in the world of Red Oak. These characters that make up this world are incredible, and they make it a place that I truly never want to leave.

What Miranda Elaine brought to life with them in this book was utterly fantastic. I can’t say that enough. She has a true talent with her words, and reading this second book of hers proved that over and over again.

Fixing Him is the second book in this interconnected standalone series, and follows the story of Sam and Montana, and the summer that both of them won’t soon forget. Montana comes to town and the world of this book to handle some affairs for her family. She’s young, fun, and has more spunk and vibrancy than you can shake a stick at. She is a force to be reckoned with that one, and when she sets her sights on Sam Matthews, she knows that she wants to get to know him more. The only problem is he doesn’t think they should be a thing. He thinks he’s too old for her, he thinks he doesn’t have time for a relationship, and he definitely doesn’t think things can go anywhere between them, but she is going to do anything she can to show him that all of his thoughts are wrong.

Sam is instantly attracted to Montana and would give anything in the world to have more with her, but with the weight of the world on his shoulders, he just doesn’t think it’s possible. He’s a man who would do anything for anybody, but he doesn’t think he has the time or commitment for more. When the two of them start to have fun and get to know each other more, things get a lot more real than either of those two bargained for. Montana is like a breath air for the good hearted Sam, and the more time he spends with her, the harder it becomes to not feel what he does.

Fixing Him explores what happens between these two when a summer of fun soon becomes very real, and deeper than either of them two expected it to be.

What I loved about this book was how fun, sweet, and beyond charming it was. This was small town romance at its best. It was full of dynamic and distinctive characters that make this town and world so special and memorable. It was sweet and heartfelt and just bursting with moments that had my heart melting through every single word of what this author created. It was also so much fun. Not a page went by where I wasn’t laughing and smiling something fierce with the antics and personalities of these characters. Especially Montana. That girl is a gem, and I could read ten more books with her spark and life. All of that with the unforgettable romance brought to life on the pages of this book made this story one that I loved every word of.

Miranda Elaine has such a talent with the way that she writes. She not only creates memorable stories and characters, but she creates this tangible ease and good feeling in her books that is so enrapturing. It’s like that glorious feeling of being all toasty warm wrapped up in a blanket that cocoons you in the exact way you need. That’s how her books and stories feel. They feel good. They feel like a place you never want to leave. They feel spectacular and fulfilling.

Her words so authentically create that feeling, and that was ever present in Fixing Him. That made reading and experiencing this book so phenomenal. That combined with the way she wholeheartedly invested me in her characters and in this story made this one of my favorite reads of the year. I already miss her words something fierce, and I honestly can’t wait to get more of them as soon as humanly possible. She has such a talent with storytelling and writing, and that was evident on every single page of this book. ‘

Fixing Him was such a great story because it perfectly blended the best amount of everything.

It was equal parts full of heat, full of fun and spark, and full of characters that my heart was immediately pulled to. The way that Miranda Elaine perfectly weaves together so many pieces in this world and story is just part of what makes this such a fantastic read. This book made me laugh my butt off, it made me smile until my cheeks hurt, it brought tears to my eyes a few times, and it melted my heart more times than I can count. It truly gave me it all, and I can’t say enough how much I loved every single moment I got with these characters.

I really connected to Sam and Montana on such a real level while reading this book. I loved how real they were. I loved how easy it was to feel for them both and to connect with them and their journeys in this story. I loved that they were both doing the best they could with the circumstances they were given. I loved that she was so spunky and fun and vibrant in a way that truly felt like coming up for fresh air. I loved that he was the best guy with a heart of gold who was just trying to keep it all together. I loved that their connection set this book on fire in a way that felt tangible at times.

I loved that what they were sharing felt so real and so meaningful from start to finish. I loved that my heart was with them both every step of the way. I loved that when things got tough, it showed the real grit and fight these two had.

I loved that through every moment these two shared, everything felt unbelievably right.

In this book, Sam and Montana definitely have a lot in front of them that they have to face. They have their own hurdles, they have to figure their own lives out, and in a way they both have to figure out who they want to be and what they want for their lives. Fixing Him not only explores their tangible connection to one another and the feels that begin to grow between them, but it follows the two of them as they learn about themselves. It follows them through some ups and downs. It follows them as they discover what is really important, what they really value, and as they try to figure out who they really want to have in their lives.

Fixing Him is as much as story of self-discovery as it is about love and family and friendship.

What you get with Sam and Montana as they try to figure themselves out, as they try to see what might be happening between them, and as they come to terms with what they’re really building together is outstanding. It is real. It is honest. It is heartfelt in every way possible. And it’s them. It’s their story, their hearts, and every ounce of connection they share, and that is honestly just part of what made this book one of my favorite reads of the year.

This book was everything I needed and more. Miranda Elaine delivered a well written, thoughtfully crafted, and completely enrapturing story that I loved every single word of. This book took ahold of my heart with everything it had as I read it, and I loved Sam and Montana’s story with everything that I had. It felt beyond good to spend time with those two, and I already miss them both so much because they are truly special.

Fixing Him is a story of love, friendship, family, and one helluva spark filled connection that just won’t quit. It is a story of what can happen when you give it all a chance, and a story of what happens when something right just might come out of something that wasn’t even supposed to be in the first place. This is a story that is sweet, full of heart and fire, and distinctive in a way that will have you loving these characters, this world, and the feel of it all with all that you have.

My heart is still in full on love with this story and these characters, and I love that. So damn much.

Sam and Montana were a fun couple. I loved how they met and how they couldn't resist their attraction to one another despite how much Sam fought it. He wanted to stay away from Montana for a great number of reasons but in the end, he just couldn't resist her and it's not like she made it easy on him either. And it was so much fun to watch.

And Kernie added a fun and cute factor to the story too; I adored him. Montana had a little pig for a pet - Kernie - and honestly it was the freaking cuttest to read about. I have wanted one for myself at some point in the past couple of years and this book just made me want one again.

Fixing Him was definitely a fun and sweet read about two people faced with their own problems and very different lives that somehow cross paths and fit like two puzzle pieces but don't know how to fit the rest of their lives together. It was only meant to be a summer fling but instead they found their forever, will they fight for each other or let each other go? Find out by reading this sweet and fun book.

I enjoyed this book. A sweet, fun and sexy romance between a free-spirited, idealistic 22 year old woman and a gruff and serious 31 year old man with a busy life and no interest in commitment.

This is the second book in the Fixing series, and though there is some character crossover, you can easily read this one as a standalone.

Montana has just inherited an old home from her grandfather, and she’s decided to move in for the summer while it is renovated to prepare it for sale. She lives a mostly itinerant life, never settling in one place for too long – a trait she inherited from her parents after living with them in an RV during her childhood. And though she has no intention of staying put after the house is sold, she intends to enjoy her lakeside location and the small town she is in while she is there.

Sam is the contractor hired for the job. He’s a bit broody, and struggles to balance his work life with what he feels is his responsibility to care for his unwell father, and he has no time for relationships – preferring casual hook-ups without any attachment.

From the moment Sam rocks up to Montana’s house, fireworks are sparking.

The most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen is standing on the massive back deck. I think I’m physically incapable of moving at the moment. Maybe his hotness induced a stroke or something because time seems to be at a standstill as I stand here staring at him. Hell, I’m squinting with my hands shading my eyes, so I can try to get a better look.

Montana is instantly smitten and Sam also likes what he sees, but he’s deterred by her age, the fact that he’s currently working for her, and he’s actively avoiding any and all commitments outside of those he already has. But he finds himself uncontrollably drawn to the bright and bubbly girl in ways he never anticipated.

The wicked smile and flirty eyes she’s giving me make me want to abandon all rational thought. I’m walking a tightrope here and this woman is going to push me over without a ton of resistance.

This is a really fun romantic setup. Montana is bold and daring. She holds nothing back from Sam, letting him know in no uncertain terms what she wants. He’s feeling it just as much as she is, though he tries to fight her, but their attraction is irresistible, and when their passion for each other ignites, they agree to a no-strings arrangement so that they can explore their explosive attraction and both walk away at the end of the summer once the house is finished and Montana leaves town.

Simple, right? Not so much.

“You are a great guy, Sam. One day some woman is going to make you want to commit and she’ll be the luckiest girl in the world.”
I want to tell her in a perfect world that would be her.

It’s a really sweetly developing relationship that takes both of them by surprise with its intensity. The sexy time is hot and steamy – Sam has a dirty mouth and they are well matched with how insatiable they are for each other. But as Montana quite unintentionally begins to insinuate herself into Sam’s life, they get to know each other on a deeper level, and over conversation, shared meals and movie nights, everything begins to change.

“Your smiles are my everything.”

But what happens when their summer together is over? Can Montana find happiness staying in one place? And can Sam make room in his life for the woman he never expected? They will be put to the test in ways they never expected, but I really liked seeing them figure it all out.

“You steamrolled yourself into my life and I’m a changed man for it. I’m a better person for knowing you and I never want that to change.

This was a fun read. I enjoyed Montana and Sam as characters, and there’s a great group of side characters (including those introduced in the first book of the series, Fixing Her). At times it felt that it was a bit longer than it needed to be, and it lagged a bit on side storylines when I wanted a to see more of the love story, but it ends well and I finished it with a smile on my face.

I really enjoyed it. 3.5 stars.

I absolutely loved this book. Such a great series. Can't wait to start book 3. Montana was such a fun girl. And she is absolutely perfect for Sam. There was a scene I didn't like. As a safe reader and a few of his thoughts. But I was able to move past them.

The Review:
Fixing Him was a simple, easy to read romance that started as a summer fling and ended with a happily ever after.

This is my second read by this author and as I said after reading her debut book, she’s been added to my must-read list. There’s a good reason for it. It’s tough to find an author you can read and leave, a book or story you can just sit down with and have fun. Don’t get me wrong. I love the deeply angsty books. I love the heartwrenching, soul-crushing, books. But sometimes, I just want a solid romance with a good story that doesn’t sink me into the “feels” firmament. A book that makes me smile or laugh or come away feeling like I connected to real characters I could share a journey with for a little while. This is that kind of read. Light, fun and sexy.

Just like Miranda Elaine’s first book, Fixing Her, this book was full of romance, quirky and enjoyable characters that had heart and were easy to connect with, and a solid story I thoroughly enjoyed. Montana and Sam were sexy and entertaining. They weren’t overly dramatic nor were they deeply scared, so this read was witty, romantic and filled with a lighthearted story I was hooked on from the moment I opened the book until the second I finished the last page.

Story/Characters...
Montana Rhodes has just inherited her estranged grandfather's lake house. She’s had an unusual upbringing, traveling around from place to place with her parents and her twin brother, she’s never settled down in one place for very long. Thinking she’ll sell the lake house and move on, she hires a sexy contractor to help her get things in order, but the temptation to have a summer fling with the hammer-wielding god is too much to resist. It’s just the summer, so why not, right?

Sam Matthews is the foremen for Kade Construction. He’s had a rough life but is surrounded with good friends he’d in return do anything for. He’s trying to move up in the Kade business and he takes care of his paralyzed father who was involved in an accident years before. He doesn’t have much time for anything personal and loss has made him wall up his heart and vow to stay a bachelor for the rest of his life. That all seems to change the moment the young, blond bombshell hires him to fix her lake house. All his walls can’t seem to keep her from breaking right through them. It’s only for the summer, right? Why not...

I really enjoyed Montana. She was flirty, outgoing yet shy and animated to the point of being sort of hilarious. She liked to live free, with a joyous outlook which half the time landed her in the most ridiculous situations.

Sam was a brooder ... and a ladies man. He liked to bed them and forget them. He thinks his life is too complicated for commitment, too filled up with caretaker responsibilities to add more to it. I love that he learns that love doesn’t have to be a responsibility, but a treasure and a relief if you’re with the right person.

Montana’s openness and carefree spirit was a direct contrast to Sam’s closed off gloom. Together, she teaches him to live and love and he teachers her stability and roots. I loved it!

And we have to talk about their chemistry. This author is getting better and better at writing those tummy tingling scenes that just make you smile and fan yourself at the same time. Whoohoo! And I can’t close this review without mentioning the side characters. I loved them all, including Kermie who sometimes stole the show!

The Wrap Up:
Fixing Him had a well-written story with connectable characters and a plot that wasn’t entwined with drama overload. I enjoyed the returning characters from Fixing Her and the insights into their continuing lives.

As a side note, this is read as a standalone and you don’t need to read Fixing Her first to follow along with this one. However, I suggest it because it was really good.

Montana is in town for the summer to have her newly inherited home renovated for sale. She's free-spirited, young and innocent with a voice that instantly calls to the hardest part of Sam's heart. She's just the type to complement Sam perfectly.
"The voice sounds like candy wrapped in rainbows."

He's her new contractor. He's older. He's sorta jaded. And he thinks she's way too young for him. But what if they could just take the summer to have a passionate no-strings fling? Could Montana do it? And leave with her heart intact? What about Sam? Will Montana's innocence and charm be too much for the walls around his heart to take?

I loved Fixing Him. It's sweet, it's sexy, and Sam and Montana and Kermie the piglet are perfect together! Although I liked the previous story in this series, Fixing Her, I found Fixing Him much more enjoyable. For one, Sam is a much better hero, much more positive and likable than Asher, the hero in Fixing Her. But mostly, I liked it much more because Sam and Montana are just so joyful to read as a couple. They fit each other so perfectly in their opposite personalities. And the secondary cast of her family and his dad? Superb! I am looking forward to much, much more from this author.

5 SMOOCHES!

Fixing Him is the second novel in Miranda Elaine’s Fixing series of standalones. I absolutely loved it, and I love this author’s writing style! Miranda has a definite way with words, and as a new author, she’s already found her voice, and it’s sweet and sultry! Her writing is sharp and engaging, and her second solo novel was well polished, nicely paced and came together into a wholly addictive story that was as full of heart and heat as it was hilarious.

A light-hearted, easy-reading May-December romance, at its most basic, Fixing Him was about finding love when you aren’t looking for it. The author has a great sense of humor that she used liberally throughout this story. Montana may have only been in town temporarily, but she slid into life in small town Tennessee like she was born there. Sam wasn’t only a swoon-worthy hero, he was a really great guy, too. He was so busy holding it all together for everyone else in his life that he didn’t even realize that was kind of falling apart until Montana blew into town and breathed a little life into him. The side characters in this story were fantastic and added wonderful richness and depth to this story, and I adored Montana’s beloved pet pig, Kermie.

Once again, Miranda Elaine has left me fully entertained and thoroughly impressed with her writing. Fixing Him was a sexy and fun story brimming with humor and endearing characters. A charming premise and a heartstring-tugging, hot-as-the-Tennessee-summer-sun romance kept me smiling from cover-to-cover. I positively devoured this book, and I was left wanting more and excited about what will come next from the very talented Miranda Elaine. Five smooches from me for Fixing Him by Miranda Elaine!

Fixing Him was the first book I have read from Miranda Elaine, and I really enjoyed it. Sam & Montana's love story was a fun flirty romantic comedy that I couldn't put down. If you are looking for a light hearted light on the angst romance, I would definitely recommend picking this book up.

Fixing Him is a the second book in the fixing series, but it can be read as a standalone. The book begins with a young woman named Montana with a heart of gold. With her grandfathers passing, she has inherited his cabin and wants to makes renovations, and in walks in . . . Sam.

Sam is man who you bring home to meet your dad. He is a good man. But has commitment issues. Loves the bachelor life. But when he meets the little spitfire named Montana. . . he meets his match! The only problem. . . He is ten years older than her.

That doesn't stop them from getting in the sheets.
What is a summer fling, turns into something neither had expected. . .

The banter between these two, was exhilarating to read.
A beautiful original love story that left my heart bursting out of my chest.

I will definitely be reading more from this author, that is a fact.

I enjoyed this light-hearted, flirty, and fun read. Montana is a cute & sassy heroine you can’t help but love. Her pet, Kermie, is pretty adorable, too.

When Montana is willed her Grandfather’s lake house, she decides to spend the summer there while the house gets renovated, then put up for sale. She vows to embrace her time there and make the summer an enjoyable one.

Enter hunky Sam.

Sexy Sam can’t help but appreciate Montana’s free spirit, sarcastic nature, and lovable personality. Her appearance ain’t so bad either. He’s kinda hooked. He doesn’t want to be, but their attraction to each other is undeniable. He’ll only indulge for the summer. There’s no way they’d work out other than that. Says he’s too old for her. She’s too young and needs to live her life and not be held down by him and his responsibilities. One summer. Just a fling. For a few months of fun. Riiiight.

Watching their relationship grow, with its ups and downs was entertaining and sexy and fun. Not only did I enjoy their story, but I loved seeing the characters from the first book.

This was a light, flirty read that brought out the smiles and had me rooting for Sam and Montana the whole way.

Montana arrives in Lakeside for the summer to renovate and sell her late grandfather’s house. It was left to her and she really doesn’t want to move to the sleepy town permanently but she needs to have some time to herself so why not do it beside a lake.

House by the lake are hot property in this town so when Sam get’s the call to quote on the renovation job he is probably expecting an uptight, wealthy client to meet him. He was not expecting Montana. She is young, beautiful and has no airs or graces about her at all. The hardest part of the job is going to be fighting off his attraction to her.

Montana is instantly intrigued by the brooding, sexy Sam. She is only in town for the summer so a harmless fling could be mutually beneficial right? No chance of getting attached to each other when there is a time limit is there? Now she just needs to convince Sam that it’s a good idea. Let the seduction of Sam begin…

Sam has been working for Kade Construction since he was a teenager and is very focused on his future with the company. He wants to invest and become a partner. He divides his time between work and caring for his ailing father. He doesn’t have time for anything else. One night stands are the only female interaction he will entertain. Until Montana.

Montana is persistent in her pursuit of Sam and I have to give the guy credit he does well resisting her flirtations, for a while. Then all bets are off as these two sizzle up the pier, kitchen bench, couch and bedroom… Sam is beginning to work out that there is so much more to this woman than her physical attributes. She is fun to hang out with, compassionate with people & animals and she makes him laugh more than he has in years.

If only there wasn’t a time limit on their ‘arrangement.’ Sam is convinced that Montana is too young and asking her to stay would only hold her back from things she has yet to experience. However, for the first time in his life he can see himself settling down and having what Kade has with Temperance.

It’s all fun and games until feelings decide to arrive at the playground and now these two have to figure out if what they have is worth taking a chance on.

This is the second book in this interconnected series from Miranda. Can be read as a stand alone but there are characters from the previous books featured as well.

The ending to Fixing Him by Miranda Elaine is perfection! And to get to it, you read through some of the most delightful pages that I have read in quite a while. The second book in the Fixing series is an unquestionable recommendation from me, it was a marvelous read.

Montana is a free spirit who moves through life with her pet pig, Kermie. I adored this character from the moment she was introduced. I think it was the fact that even though she was young, she was just so down to earth level headed that she had me cheering her on from the start.

Sam was another character that had me cheering, and well, there may have been a little swooning! His “take care of others” attitude was admirable but his position on love was heartbreaking.

From the moment that Montana and Sam met, you could just feel the vibes coming off the pages. Despite their resolve to limit their relationship, the pull between the two of them was too much. As their story unfolds, each of them comes to realize that they want more.

Miranda Elaine has written a beautiful tale of two distinctive characters that is full of humor, sexiness and all the feels. 5 Stars #2OCCMS

This is my first Miranda Elaine ARC... I signed-up because the blurb got me curious and excited.

I thought it was going to be one of those serious taboo-romance... but contrary to my initial assumption their age difference isn't that huge... well to me at least.

In my opinion, I think a good 10yr gap is acceptable as long as you're not in your teens anymore... And in reference to the female protagonist, Montana, she was already 22 and already had a nursing degree... so she is already capable of making any adult decisions.

This is a story about finding love in an unexpected place... Montana was bequeathed her grandfather's lake house and had only planned to stay there until the summer ends or until the renovations were done. Cue in the handsome, slightly older and rugged contractor Sam; sparks fly like the Forth of July. Both tried to resist the other and neither of them does not want anything serious... the plan was strictly and vehemently for them to be each other's summer fling—but lines started to blur and sometimes life just doesn't go the way you planned...

Can't say I haven't read anything similar before but I enjoyed Montana's and Sam's journey nonetheless. The pacing was good, the characters were relatable and the supporting cast weren't too shabby either.

If you're looking for a light read with a May-December vibe to it, then this is tue book to pick-up next.

A summer fling or something so much more?
Sam Matthews isn't the kind of guy who is looking for something deep and meaningful with the women he hooks up with... his only interest is carnal and with instant gratification. But when the young, vibrant, carefree and free spirited Montana hires him to update her grandfather's cabin, Sam finds himself breaking all the barriers he had set up his entire life due to fear. This crazy, sassy, young woman has managed to take root inside his head... a place no woman has successfully broken into until now. A sweet, light, sexy and funny romance which will melt your heart. 5 sugar coated Stars for "Fixing Him" and bringing down the walls we erect because we're scared to face the future.

Can I just say I swept through this book in 2 days. I didn't want it to end.

This is my first book by Miranda Elaine and I truly enjoyed it.

Opposites attract and this book proves it. He's not looking for love and she is open to anything. Sam and Montana are a great couple. They work so well together and it just clicks and makes sense. From the first moment that they meet you know that they are meant for each other. Age isn't a big deal, unless your a teenage, then it is. But as adults 10 years is no biggie.

Read this book.
Read it by the pool.
Read it on a train.
Read it in your bed.

JUST READ THE BOOK!

“I spent the summer convincing her I could live without her. Making her believe that a relationship with her would be a burden on my life and not letting on to the truth. The truth that every second I spent with her was the best moments I’ve had in as far back as I could remember.”

Montana is a young woman who has just inherited from her grandfather, a property in a privileged and elitist location. Living a careless and itinerant lifestyle with her family, her new reality is a sudden change in her life. Fresh out of college, she hopes to renovate the house during the summer, put it up for sale and make a good profit. And so, she and her pet pig leave for the new address for a few months.
Sam has a busy life. His day-to-day life is quite busy, splitting up between work, renovate his house and caring for his father. Relationships are not part of his vocabulary, with so many responsibilities, he can not afford to have to care about anyone else. Living all his life in a trailer park and watching his father work hard, Sam hopes to change his life, and because of that, work is his main focus. Until a young and very attractive blonde crosses his path.
Montana is renovating her property. Sam is responsible for the job. She is young, innocent and at the same time bold. He is older, responsible and has no time for a relationship. An instant attraction. An explosive chemistry. And a summer full of possibilities.
What begins as a no strings attached affair, over time, turns into a friendship / love that will change the two characters and make them see other perspectives, yearn for things they did not know they want and for a different future than they expected. Montana brings a fresh and laid back side to the narrative, while Sam presents the dramatic side, showing what he faces with his father. Kermie the pig was the comic relief of the narrative.
An interesting, well-constructed plot with credible characters, no over-drama, with a touch of humor, it shows two people with different personalities but who respect, understand
and complete each other. A good novel.

Fixing Him is the second book in the Fixing series and so my favorite, which is crazy to say because I loved the first book! This author has a way of having you feeling things right alongside these characters so you find yourself smiling, laughing, and swooning right with Montana and Sam.

Sam is a hard working man with the weight of the world of his shoulders. He is extremely hard working and loyal to those he lets in. He gets by on one night stands and feels he doesn’t have time in life for a forever girl. When his pseudo uncle asks him to help the new girl in town with her house repairs, he is not prepared for his life to change so much!

Montana shows up at the house she just inherited on the lake and is at a loss for where to start. Thankfully the amazing Uber driver that brought her from the airport, knew someone to contact. Now her and her pet pig are staying at the lake house while it is being renovated. But who knew that the hunky foreman would be her game changer.

They said it was just for fun, they said it was just for the summer, but what happens when they want more?

Fixing Him by Miranda Elaine is such an emotional, sweet romance. I loved every minute of it. This is one of those books that tugs at your heart and leaves you soaring by the end of the book.

Sam Matthews' character is charming, sexy, and all in all a fantastic man. I loved him instantly and couldn't help but grow to love him more. He is used to always sacrificing what makes him happy to make sure those he loves are taken care of. I loved how charismatic he was and that you could always count on him. So when he meets Montana and she turns his world for a loop, I couldn't help but get all gooey inside. I love that they tell one another what they expect from the relationship, but in the end it grows so deeply and turns into more. I enjoyed these characters and getting to know them and watching them grow together. Their chemistry and pull to one another is breathtaking and left me wanting more. I hated getting to the end because it was such a great story and I never wanted it to end.

So if you love romance, a sexy handy man, and a couple who has to learn that it doesn't matter how old you are, when you know you just know then this book is for you. These two will leave you smiling long after you've finished the last page.

I give Fixing Him by Miranda Elaine 5 out of 5 STARS!

I could NOT put this book down once I started it!!! We previously met Sam, best friend and coworker to Kane in Fixing Her (also an amazing story with a fantastic couple). Sam is not looking for any sort of relationship, he just does not have time. He is the man everyone can count on to be there for them and is the ultimate selfless caretaker (as well as ladies man when he feels like it, but only for one night per lady). Well, when he winds up thrown into the path and life of Montana, a young woman needing her newly inherited lake house updated, he starts to realIx wall the fun, laughter and enjoyment he can have along with all the responsibility. Again, Miranda Elaine gives us a very realistic love story, these are two people you may know, maybe grew up with or are even your best friends. I love the way she gives us a story that is fun, sexy, whimsical and realistic. There is no doubt you need this book added to your TBR and I for one cannot wait for the next book in this series!!!!

Fixing Him is a mixed bag of romance tropes. We get contemporary, romantic comedy, coming of age, new adult, older man/younger woman, a bit of steamy fun, and small town romance all terrifically blended with an emphasis on lighthearted romantic comedy. While the story does feel a little drawn out given the low angst level, it is filled with wonderful characters and witty dialogue, including Montana's inner dialogue which is the source of several chuckles along the way. I love that even though Sam is the older of the two and oh, so serious, he does a lot of growing up on an emotional level as he and Montana get to know each other, and his aha moment is just perfect. The angst in the romance is exactly as I expected, coming from the feelings that grow between this couple despite their insistence that it's just a fling, so there really aren't a lot of surprises in the story, which keeps the mood light and the story engaging. All in all, Sam and Montana's story is fun, entertaining, and full of characters so real they practically leap off the page.

Review by Tatia:

This is my first time reading anything by this author. It was a super easy read that I enjoyed.
Montana arrives at the lake house to fix it up and sell it. Her grandfather left it to her but it needs work to fit in with all of the others in the neighborhood. She never expected the foreman on the job to be so attractive. Despite her best efforts though, he continues to turn down her advances. He must be a saint because she’s giving it her best. Feelings start to get involved and before you know it the summer is over....
I’ve read that this is the second book in the series, but it can easily be read as a stand-alone. I didn’t have any trouble keeping up. I do want to go back and read the first book though. I’m intrigued in other characters stories in this series.

Where do I begin????

I adored Fixing Him....Sam was such a lovable/likable guy. He’s focused on his life and what he needs to do....that is until Montana enters it and oh boy!!!! Sam and Montana together are the perfect couple, they compliment each other and I loved that.

And I can’t write the review without mentioning Kermie!!!! I want him!!!!!

The writing was beautiful!!! Ms. Elaine wrote a few passages that just struck me and they are highlights for me:

“Do you not know I’d go anywhere if it meant I got to see you?”

Ummm.....SWOON!!!!

“Your smiles are my everything”.....❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Not what I expected!!! Fixing him by Miranda Elaine has awed me with this exceptionally written, sexy and funny story. I couldn't stop reading once I started.

Montana thought that one summer spent renovating a lake house that was left to her would be a short yet wonderful experience. She certainly didn't see a Sam in her future, the sexy older man that sets out to help win her over and her make her swoon. The two had an instant spark but even after trying to resist the temptation was to much. They decide that one summer was all they would have, no strings, no attachment, no future after!! But who is lying to who? Will they be able to walk away after the summer ends?

I was so delighted with this book, it hits all the feels and makes me laugh. Very well written and unique. A definite must read!!!

This book was not exactly for me. The writing isn't bad just elements of the story is not what I enjoy reading. To each their own!
