Sometimes I like to buy books on kindle in the middle of the night and make myself read them when I can´t sleep. One of most expensive and irritating qualities I can´t give up. This one was one of those. Not really a book I would recommend if you like sentences that make sense.

of course, I still adore the characters so much, but I just hated the fact that it’s “enemies” to lovers while the guy has been in love with her since day 1.

I didn’t expect to love this book so much going into it. but this book was definitely a shocker to me. I loved the characters, and overall everything abt it.

the bachelor idea was for sure a unique twist on the storyline. the quotes in this book was so cute, I couldn’t stop reading it. madi and cole were definitely my favorite, and their dynamic duo was honestly, the best.

i’m at a loss of words because this book was so good??? I know it’s a YA high school book and it can get cheesy and very cliche. but i’m such a sucker for those. I had low expectations for these types of books, but this book really baffled me.

honestly i keep going on and on abt this book, but it was a fun read.

A Fun, Sweet Romance

This was really sweet. The plot, about a girl and a guy who fight all the time, getting drawn into a school competition, isn't exactly new, but it was a really fun read. There was some forced commentary about anti bullying, that was hard to believe considering how it was staged and who was being bullied, but the message was a good one despite the "yeah right" factor.

I really enjoyed The wrong Bachelor. It was everything I expected. High school teen read about a girl who is dating the wrong guy. The school want to raise money for charity so they do their own version of the Bachelor.

Cole Kingston has only been interested in one girl. Unfortunately, she’s the only girl who can say no to him. Cole and Madi used to be friends, but when she started dating her controlling boyfriend, Cole didn’t handle it well. Now Cole is the hottest Bachelor in school and Madi is the only girl who can resist him. They both get picked for the Bachelor charity event and things heat up.

This has the typical drama associated with both high school and programs like the Bachelor. The romance is sweet and the story has the happy ever after.

Nice easy read. This is a Kindle Unlimited read. 4.5 stars out of 5.

cute and predictable.

The Wrong Bachelor was the high school version of the.. well.. the bachelor. I honestly don't like that show one bit so it surprised me that I was enjoying this book so much. In it, you will meet Madison and Cole. It was completely obvious that these two had so much sexual tension in the beginning and then throughout the competition their chemistry was amazing.

This was definitely a friendship to enemies to loves kind of book. There was also a bunch of drama in this book. Whether it was Madi's boyfriend being a complete douche canoe to her or it was a girl being way too friendly with Cole - all of it was devoured by my eyes. Now even thought I liked this book, it was a bit unrealistic. I would never see a school doing this - even if it was for a charity.

Besides all of that, there were a ton of cliches in this book. For example, the bitchy cheerleader who doesn't like the MC because she wants her boyfriend and bullies her throughout the book. Her name was Laurie and she wasn't one of my favorite characters in this book but I just felt sad for her. Another character I didn't like was Jake - Madi's ex. He just seemed like a selfish bastard who didn't deserve her one bit. Their relationship was just sad and it made me so freaking happy when they broke up. Then there was Evan, who was honestly my favorite character because he was hilarious throughout the whole challenge.

Overall, it was cute and highly predictable. I will definitely be diving into another book by this author.

The dialogue is unbearable and the ideas are dated for 2019. Those might be forgivable if the characters were strong, but they all were stereotypes come to life: the girl who’s gorgeous and doesn’t know it, the bad boy who has a secret soft side.

There are better contemporaries out there. Don’t spend your time on this one.

Even though I pretty much despise all things The Bachelor, this was kinda cute? And I love the hate-to-love trope, but I've definitely seen it done better. Especially since this was more boy-next-door-to-more since the main characters didn't actually hate each other. Just a misunderstanding of sorts that led them to act like they hated each other. But under the guise of a reality dating show for charity -- yeah, I can totally see a school district being down for that...NOT! -- they find their way back to each other. Parts were definitely cringe-worthy and the stereotyping definitely made me want to pull my hair out at times, but I guess I can see the appeal if you're already a fan of shows like this.

THIS WAS LITERALLY THE CUTEST!

The enemies-friends-lovers trope may be a predictable one and the whole plot may come along as a cheesy one, but I was certainly all in for the ride!

Madi and Cole were the sweetest and their chemistry was inevitable. They were just that perfect ingredient to complete each other, even if all they are always at each other’s throat. The fact that Cole has always had the eyes for Madi and was definitely trying hard to get her all through the years but she was too stubborn to notice it all through literally screams love is blind and love is foolish. Moreover, there were definitely loads of cliches in this book, from having a controlling, manipulative football player boyfriend, jealous popular girl, and even the plot as a whole. Nevertheless, as cliche as it was, I loved every second of it. Although the dating show in a school setting was super unrealistic and absurd. Don't get me wrong, the idea was unique. However, even if it may be for charity because there is certainly no way that school administrators allow student councils to do something like that, but oh well, i did have the greatest time reading this as i somehow was bawling with tears in the ending

They all had so much makeup caked on they looked ten years older, but Madi didn’t appear to be wearing any. She was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, while the other girls were sporting short skirts and heels. They must have hated her for looking better than them without trying.”

Very cute

This was a super cute story and I enjoyed it. It's a little silly to think that a high school would authorize doing a bachelor dating show for charity, but it made for an interesting plot. I liked the little dates they went on and the friendships between the girls. Laurie was the worst, she was so mean to Madi and I didn't like her, even at the end. I thought Cole was sweet, he liked Madi so much. Teagan, Evan, and Willow were good allies and friends to Madi. This was a quick read and a lot of fun.

The high school decides to do a "Bachelor" type show to raise money for charity. Despite having a boyfriend, Madi, is chosen as one of the female contestants. The Bachelor is the star football player, Cole, who used to be friends with Madi until he turned into a huge jerk overnight. Add in a few mean girl contestants, and the high school ends up having a viral show on their hands. Cole is the last person that Madi wants anything to do with, but as they are forced to spend time with each other they both remember what it was like to be friends.

I was extremely skeptical about this one - I don't like the Bachelor at all - but I ended up really getting into Madi and Cole's story and really liked it. The grand romantic gesture at the end is worth reading this book. It melted my heart.

I loved this book, every page is filled with so much feelings , I couldn't put it down.
How can't Madi see what has always been under her eyes. it's so old school Cole's way of attract Madi attention that even a kid can see it. All the things Cole did to make her see him has a possibility even if it should have been the opposite... But when she finally noticed him the sparks are inevitable . I confirmed my theory for this one too: LOVE IS BLIND (maybe we girls sometimes are blind, or we're simply scared to open our eyes)...
you should definitely give this one a try , a very good story, I felt like I was in a real episode of the bachelor

It was really not bad. Of course, the concept sounds a bit shallow and implausible for a high school, but I actually liked the main characters and the story was interesting enough to keep me on board until the very end. The writing style was also very enjoyable and if you´re looking for a cute, very romantic teen book, this is a good choice.
It could have been even better if it hadn´t so many tropes in it (the main protagonist is super pretty without trying, the cheerleader is the "evil one" and a lot of unnecessary drama in the end) and I even thought it might have been better if set in college...
But all in all, a solid book of this genre.

“How could this really be a search for my true love if the girl I loved wasn’t even here?”

this was quite cute! the idea of the game show is quite far-fetched (this would never happen in real schools), but it was a compelling and interesting. it allowed us to get to know other characters and they were well developed (cough cough evan).

that being said, i didn't like either of the main characters. madi, our female main character, was perfect. she had no flaws- popular, pretty, nice to everyone. i think that by putting her in the group with the drama kids the author intended to make her more dimensional, but i don't think it really had that effect.

cole was very much the clichéd, popular jock who has always loved her but she is convinced he hatesss her. i know. nothing new.

despite the disappointing characters, i actually enjoyed the 3rd act conflict! i often believe that these conflicts are unnecessary, but this one made me believe that both characters feelings were completely valid and reactions were very justified.

Fun Characters!

This book had excellent build up and chemistry. I loved the main characters, the dual perspectives and the gradual shift in emotions. All the high school drama was swirling and I thought the incorporation of the Bachelor idea was fun. It definitely ramped up the drama! I had a hard time putting this one down.

In order to raise money for charity, Lincoln High school decides to create a dating competition involving its students. Madison is chosen as one of the contestants, despite having a boyfriend and - worse of all - the bachelor who is chosen is Cole, her sworn enemy.

First of all, yes the concept is ridiculous. I don't believe that a school would recreate The Bachelor (including it being filmed) even if it is for charity. The fact that students don't really get a choice if they want to compete or not (the other students nominate them and those with the most votes win) is... dodgy. Honestly, what were the teachers thinking? Did they really think making a bunch of girls compete for the attention of one boy would help the students academic and personal lives?? No adults in the book seem to question it? The parents seem to love it? How do the students have the time to do this?



I quickly realised in order to give this book a chance I was going to have to switch off my brain. This wasn't really a problem; I love fluff and silliness.

So, our characters. We have Cole, our chosen bachelor and narrator of half of this book. He's a star football player. And he's handsome. That's pretty much it.



Then we have Madison, our other narrator. She's popular but is not like the other girls. Which seems to mean that she's quieter and wears jeans. She has an angry boyfriend, Jake, who spends most of the book glowering and ditching her when he feels like it.



Madi and Cole used to be BFFs until Madi got a boyfriend and Jake glowered at Cole enough for him to back off. Now (still harbouring feelings for her) the only way Cole can still talk Madi is by being smug and sarcastic. Not unexpectedly she decides he's turned into a jerk and so they're now enemies.

UNTIL Cole is chosen to be the bachelor and Madi has to compete for his attention.



The other contestants include the crazy head cheerleader who wants to win Cole more than anything, someone who writes for the school newspaper and so is only in it for the gossip, a shy art student, a drama student and Evan, who is openly gay. I liked the diverseness of these characters; it was more interesting than them all being cheerleaders.

Despite their banter being somewhat painful to read, I liked Madi and Cole. Their characters kept my interest but unfortunately I felt like the writing could have been tightened up. The author fails the "show don't tell" rule and this was made even more prominent since we had both Cole and Madi's POVs. There was hardly any suspense and I knew from the start how the story was going to end. What I did like was how the author brought up the issue of slut-shaming and how this can really impact people.

It was cute book but not really for me. I think I would have enjoyed this a lot more if I had been younger.

Someday's I live for the cliche stuff and this book just happened to be that. This is high school romance meets The Bachelor and you know what? Even though it was predictable at every turn I enjoyed reading every single minute of this book.
If this feels the kind of book that you would enjoy, go for it!
