I liked this one but not as much as the first one. At times I found my self bored and for a quick read it took me all day to finish. I kept getting up, walking away from it and finding other things to do like the dishes. So yeah......... I liked Paine and Penelope's story more than Law and Joey's but neither wowed me. Oh well on to the last book.

Mechanic is book two in the Breeding series by Alexa Riley. What is it about AR’s books? I just can’t stop reading them. They are insta-love, and insta-sex times a million, and I love every single minute of it! This one, as freaking hot as it was, had a fantastic story equipped with evil Dad. And what a surprise at the ending with the bonus chapter!
Paine owns a garage. He has devoted all of his recent years to making it a success. He has not had time nor had any interest in women. Until the day that Penelope walked in to his shop. He didn’t even know her name. He knew she was way out of his league with her fancy car. She radiated rich girl. But he can’t fight the attraction. He instantly dubs her his Duchess and he will most definitely make her earn her crown!
Penelope was sent away to an all girls boarding school when she was just a little girl. She has actually spent very little time in her home town. But right after graduation from college, her father forced her to come back, and informed her that she is going to marry his lawyer. Her father is holding something very near to Penelope’s heart to make sure she does exactly what he says.
Paine, though, has other ideas. He has claimed his Duchess as his own. There will be no wedding, no fiance. He will be the only man to touch his Duchess, whether she likes it or not!
“To know I’m the first to touch her makes me want to shoot off a cannon and plant a stake beside her that reads “This land is claimed.” She’s an undiscovered country, and I wanna be the king of it.”
I loved every single page of this book. It was actually pretty intense regarding her evil father and all. Certain parts kept me on the edge of my seat, and certain parts…well, you know!
Best of all, there was a totally unexpected bonus chapter at the end with Joey and Law’s story. It ran simultaneous to Paine and Penelope’s story. Simply amazing. It filled in lots of holes.
I suspect I could start at the top of AR’s book list and just go down the row and would love every single one of them. They never fail to brighten my mood.

2.75 Smut Scale Stars
As I've said before, Alexa Riley is my go-to smut author.
Like the book equivalent of a morning quickie...Hard, fast, and dirty - while sometimes lacking...finesse, all parties are still left satisfied, amiright?

I've had Mechanic sitting on my kindle for a couple of weeks. I'd heard the rumours about this smutty little treat and was curious to see if it lived up to the hype. Was I going to keep it a secret that I read it? If I did read it, would I review it? This book is flat out and openly a Smutfest and everyone would know my secret...
Yep, I'm a smut lover.
Holy shamoly! The words and actions by the main characters were rude, crude and socially unacceptable but you couldn't help but be turned on by them. Paine, from the get-go, knows he wants his Duchess forever. He had no hesitations and made it very clear to everyone that she was his. It was ownership and complete devotion. It was actually really sweet.
It was also kind of funny. Every time the word bred, breeding or breeder popped up I snorted. The dirty talk was extreme and the marking of her a bit gross. But you take the good with the bad. What's one person's gross is another person's nirvana.
There was an actual story and it kept my interest from the beginning to the end. We are also given a bonus at the end with Joey and Law's story. Their story is shorter but just as filled with dirty talking possessive sexy times as the main one.
This was my first story by Alexa Riley, I enjoyed it and it will definitely not be my last.

There's a warning at the beginning: This book is over-the-top, insta-love. There's nothing but steamy scenes, babies trying to be made, and an obsessed bearded alpha hero claiming a virgin who will be his forever. If you want it hot and dirty, this is it! .
And that's exactly what you get, so if you look for something deeper, it's not here. But if you like it dirty, insta, OTT and overly descriptive (OMG, all those body fluids), you will enjoy it.
A girl needs some simple, dirty smut from time to time and this one did the trick, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

5 "Bearded Hot Mechanic + Bonus Sheriff" Stars!
I was not expecting to love this book so much after just enjoying the first one in the series! Mechanic has been such a great read for me LOL Let's see why, shall we? ;)
First, this is the second installment in Alexa Riley's Breeding series and as you can imagine our heros and heroines are quite obsessed about breeding and having babies (which I still find a little bit weird LOL). So this time, in Mechanic, Riley gives us the story of Paine (a super hot bearded mechanic who finds himself super atracted to an innocent rich girl) and Penelope (said innocent girl who happens to be the Mayor's daughter and a young woman who is being forced to marry someone she does not love).
There’s something passing between us, and it’s intense. This is unlike anything I’ve ever felt before, and I can’t explain it. Being in her presence is like being punched in the gut and jerked off at the same time. It’s overwhelming and amazing.
Well, Alexa warns us in the sinopsis: This book is over-the-top, insta-love. There's nothing but steamy scenes, babies trying to be made, and an obsessed bearded alpha hero claiming a virgin who will be his forever. If you want it hot and dirty, this is it! And yeah, that's practically it hahaha Just saying that if you're in the mood for smut, Riley's writing will not disappoint you! I was intrigued by this book after I noticed one of my friends had marked it to-read so I checked out the blurb and found this:

After that how could I not read it and it's a very, very quick read since the print is so large (normally a pet hate of mine) even with my kindle set to the smallest size there's only 129 words on an average page compared to 253 on the next book down, yes I was sad enough to check.
I have to say I enjoyed this, generally I'm not a fan of insta-love, I like a story with my sex and I've rejected books after a couple of pages because the print is too big but this worked for me, I knew what to expect and the warning was exactly right, if you want a quick hot read with a tattooed alpha who knows exactly what he wants then check this out, it's also on KU.
I've just done a re-read and enjoyed it more than the first time I also read the extra story which for some reason I didn't do last time.
It features Law and Joey and runs concurrently with Mechanic so you know exactly why Joey is so annoyed with him at the bar.
I loved this one as well.

This book contains two stories, ‘Paine & Penelope’ and ‘Joey & Law (Bonus story)’.
1. Paine & Penelope
The blurb sounds intriguing, quite like my cuppa. It was supposed to be my light-hearted read, sadly it didn't turn out the way I expected. Actually, this is a good and well-written story. I had no problem with the plot, I even really liked it! But the thing that bothered me a lot was two main characters.
Paine is a possessive and horny guy. After he had met Penelope, his only thought was to get into her pants. I felt like he sometimes forced her to accept his touch (and she was too stupid to do whatever he told her to do!). Normally I love possessive heroes, but in this case—NOPE! This wasn’t romantic at all.
Penelope is a virgin girl, fresh out of college. According to the story, she is twenty-one years old, so beautiful, has a perfect body like a model, and she’s a virgin! You’ve got to be kidding! She graduated with business degree, from COLLEGE! She spent years there and knew nothing about sex! Sorry, I don’t buy that, especially considering how easily she spread her legs for Paine. She’s just…NOPE!
Even though I wasn’t impressed with these two main characters, I enjoyed the storyline and the supporting characters were likeable and colorful. So, I ended up giving the first story 2.5 stars.
2. Joey & Law
This story is so lovely! I loved both Josephine (Joey) and Law. Law is my kind of hero, possessive, protective, and so sweet! Joey is a virgin like Penelope but in her case, it’s believable because she grew up with three brothers so she’s more like a tomboy than a girly girl.
I really did enjoy reading this bonus story. Only one thing to complain about this one—it’s too short! I want more of Joey & Law! It’s become my favorite short story, five stars is not enough!

This wasn’t romantic at all.
Penelope is a virgin girl, fresh out of college. According to the story, she is twenty-one years old, so beautiful, has a perfect body like a model, and she’s a virgin! You’ve got to be kidding! She graduated with business degree, from COLLEGE! She spent years there and knew nothing about sex! Sorry, I don’t buy that, especially considering how easily she spread her legs for Paine. She’s just…NOPE!
Even though I wasn’t impressed with these two main characters, I enjoyed the storyline and the supporting characters were likeable and colorful. So, I ended up giving the first story 2.5 stars.
2. Joey & Law
This story is so lovely! I loved both Josephine (Joey) and Law. Law is my kind of hero, possessive, protective, and so sweet! Joey is a virgin like Penelope but in her case, it’s believable because she grew up with three brothers so she’s more like a tomboy than a girly girl.
I really did enjoy reading this bonus story. Only one thing to complain about this one—it’s too short! I want more of Joey & Law! It’s become my favorite short story, five stars is not enough!

So, a beauty walks into an auto repair shop, has work done, conveniently forgets her cash. The sexy, bearded mechanic is all, “Well, well, then! Show me your kitty-cat and we’ll call it even”. I suppose most normal people might be a little skeeved out by this.
But this little sheltered chickadee? Well, she’s all turned on by this bad boy and kind of flattered too.
So she shows him her goodies because this is an Alexa Riley story, after all, and then stuff happens and happens again and again.
If you were wondering, and I’m sure you were, yes, the heroine is a virgin and, yes, the hero is an over-protective alpha on steroids who falls into that sweet, sweet kind of insta-lust that he calls love. Alexa Riley never disappoints.
But wait! There’s more to this story. The heroine is a poor little rich girl who is being forced to marry a slimeball because her daddy says so. Daddy also threatens that she’ll never, ever be able to see her sick granny again if she refuses. Instead of telling granny the truth, you know, like a normal person would, she says, “ok, daddy” but is so turned on by the mechanic that she’s got herself into quite a predicament now. But how on earth can she be expected to resist such sweet words of love such as these?
"I plan on c*mming inside you until you're bred." and "Tell me you want it deep inside you, coating your unprotected womb.”
I admit that these books are not the best written literary treasures out there in Kindle-land. This one has some grammatical errors that even I noticed which means they must be super obvious and the characters are all similar shades of each other but they’re infectious in their over-the-top way and hard to put down. When you pick up one of these you know what you’re getting. This one even includes a little bonus story that I think I liked more than the main story.
I won’t give it all away because you’re either dying to read this by now or you just won’t admit it yet!

i guess i should have gathered from the name that it was gonna be a "breeding" erotic novel...but I didn't..so here we are folks:

This book was porn put into words and there is no sugarcoating it. I hated every second of it and just wanted it to end. Here are some memories of the bad ole' days no therapist can help with:
Nobody who looks like her, who's dressed like that, is shy. She's a rich
duchess coming into a place like this and asking for it
But to know I'm the first to touch her makes me want to shoot off a cannon and plant a stake beside her that reads 'This land is claimed.
"I stopped wearing underwear years ago, getting tired of having them in the way. He always wants me, any time of day, and I just gave up trying to block him"
The last one??? tf i-
So basically thegirlwhatshername goes to this mechanic whose name I don't remember or care for either. He fixes her car and says that he doesn't take card payment and goes down on her instead..."as payment"
later he basically turns into a caveman and stalks her, and messes with her car so she has to go back to him. After having sex for the first time later in the book, he asks her how many children she wants and practically marries her right there and then, like girl nuh uh...you better run
not only this, but the sex didn't get me hot and bothered....
...it just plain and simple bothered me.
98% of the book is plain porn (and not even the good kind) and the rest 2% is some fiancee drama I couldn't bring myself to care for.
There was also a bonus story about a law officer bothering some girl but I just couldn't bring myself to read it after the eye scratching things I had read...I'm sorry but I'm not enough a masochist for that.

4.5 TOO HOT STARS
This is a fine example of Alexa Riley's signature breeding smut.
In this story we have Paine your basic 28 year old hot Mechanic.
" His thick, muscular body leaning close into mine. His huge hand on my waist as he holds me in place. His dark-blond, shaggy hair and scruffy beard made him look wild. His waist was trim, exaggerating his broad shoulders, and those arms looked like he could pick up ten of me." She thinks about the hero.
The heroine Penny is you average sweet curvy 21 year old woman hottie with class and grace.
"The blonde we both have our eyes on now looks like she stepped off a runway. Although from the pictures I’ve seen in magazines of models, her curves are better. Her platinum-blonde hair hangs all the way to her waist where the ends start to curl. Her gray eyes meet mine, and it’s like a sucker punch to my system." He thinks about the heroine.
Basically, the story goes sexy woman walks into a car repair shop to fix her car and car gets fixed by Hot Service shop owner who does not want money for the repair but wants to be serviced. (If you catch my drift here.)
So what's an innocent horny woman to do but service him! Yes it's that cheesy!
After he basically calls her a slut for doing it, she runs away.
Makes sense here, when a guy treats you bad you never want to see him again right? Wrong.
Okay, but you will NOT BE GIVING IN TO HIM AGAIN, right? Wrong.
So the hero meets up with her later at a bar where she is having her bachelorette party. He is pissed off that she is engaged and wants revenge!
He thinks she is just having a fling with him here. That He is the dirty bac boy fix before her wedding.
MAN DOES HE HAVE IT WRONG!
The heroine, after being treated her like a cheap skank, is a little reluctant to go with the hero (YEAH right for like two seconds).
You would think she would stay away from this asshole (he even calls himself one here guys), but you would be WRONG!
Not only does she go with him but she gives him a blow job.
Now I was ready to say okay this is gross and dismiss it as it is AR earlier works. But I figured "Hey it's AR she would not do that to me!?" so I continued reading waiting for it to get better!
And do you know what IT DID!!!
I don't want to give the whole story away but it has lies and cheating being exposed (not by the MCs here) and true motives revealed.
It left me wanting to get dirty and find myself my own Fix it man to play with!
Here are some mild examples of the heat in this book:
"Sorry, but the work on your car isn’t free.” Her eyes widen in shock.
"You’re the one who broke it.”
"Cash or ass, Duchess. It’s time to pay up.”
"Fuck you, Paine. I’m not a whore.”

Honestly guys if this dialogue offends you, skip this book. However, if you have a dark side like me and think this sound "pretty hot", then come on in and READ THIS BOOK.

When I read the preview on Amazon, I knew I had to have it immediately. Riley has done it again and this time not only with one but two stories combined within one book.
The first story is a bit longer than the second, since the second one is a spin off from the first story and features h's brother and H's friend. I have to say I liked the first one better. I felt like the second story didn't have enough space to really show it's potential. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy both stories and the characters. It's always fun to read about Riley's heroes and how they lose their minds over the women they can't live without.
Can't wait for the next one, I think it comes out on the 15th, yay!

This book is delisiously smutty good. I love the fact that he is a dirty mechanic and she is a polished rich girl.
The guy knows what he wants and he knows what she wants.
The girl is far too innocent, but she really needs her car fixed. What can she do? She will pay the mechanic with the only way he wants to be paid!
It will surely remind you the script of a cheap porn film. Lots of dirty talk, dirtier action and a lot of talking about breeding.
An entertaining and funny story. But also deep down it is an innocent story. One girl for one man forever and ever.

Mechanic features two couples, the first one is Paine and Penelope and the second one is Law and Joey.

I love this one! Well, I always love Alexa Riley's books. She always writes OTT alpha males, wonderful stories and epilogues.
This book has 2 stories. The first one was about Paine, 28 and Penelope, 21. He's celebate for years and she's a virgin. The second story was about Penelope's brother Law, almost 30 and Joey, 22. He's celebate for over a decade and she's a virgin too.
i love both stories! It's sweet and easy to read and both have epilogues which I love more!

OMG, so bad! I don't even know where to start, it was really bad on all levels. The best part about the book was the cover! **Note to self: If at any time I happen upon my hero telling the heroine that he wants to breed her and she better let him know if she's doing anything to stop that from happening...I need to STOP READING!! (In this case I think they'd known each other for a whole two days!! Yeah that's not creepy at all!!)

Look if you're new here (to Alexa's books) and are looking for a deep sorrowful read then you're not reading the right thing.
She WARNS you it's instalove, she warns you it's SMUT!
If you complain that you feel no depth and take it seriously looking for a huge deep plot then that's on you NOT the author.
Anyway this one was my fav. Loved every minute of it.
