From the bestselling author of the Gideon Johann Western Series, the Wild Horse Westerns Series, and the Hand Of Western Series comes the captivating new Western novel, What It All Comes Down To!
Jude Meisner makes his living with a gun. He’s a loner – his job is his life. The one creed Jude lives by is to only take work from those being persecuted by the corrupt men of the world. When Eli, an old friend from the war, needs help with a ruthless rancher, he hurries to his aid. As Jude attempts to protect Eli and the ranch, he’s forced to face his past, all while Eli’s family and a spitfire of a saloon girl disrupts his way of life. Will Jude and Eli survive and save the ranch, and if Jude lives, will he ride away, back into his old way of life, and leave behind all the good things that have come his way?
Duane Boehm has written another western novel with enough humor, heartbreak, love, and outlaws to keep you turning the page.
Duane Boehm grew up on a farm outside of Petersburg, Illinois. All the time spent driving a tractor gave him plenty of opportunity to let his imagination run wild and not tear up too much equipment. The two passions he developed early in life were the love of playing guitar and reading books.
He eventually moved to a mini-farm outside of Murfreesboro, Tennessee with his wife and replaced planting corn with trees and raising dogs. For a number of years he worked as an IT consultant and continued with being a part-time musician and songwriter. He dabbled in writing short stories with the idea in the back of his mind that someday he would write a novel. One Christmas after watching "A Christmas Carol", he was inspired to begin his journey as a novelist.
I have have been privileged to read a lot of Me. Boehm's exceptionally talented stories, but this one has to rank very high on the top five or so I have indulged in. Great family oriented reading, with plenty of exciting adventures and gunfighting to appease the reader's pleasure. Never a dull moment, as the author goes above and beyond to appease his readers appetite for perfection. Very impressive storytelling from beginning to end.
Definitely worthy of the five stars I have awarded this very outstanding masterpiece of old western entertainment, and the author goes above and beyond the norm to maintain the reader's complete attention throughout the entire story. I have always been impressed with Mr. Boehm's versatile writing abilities but he went a step above with this amazing masterpiece.
The selection of characters and storylines throughout the entire story were perfectly descriptive of the timely western adventures, expertly enhanced by the author's exceptionally heartwarming family-friendly episodes. There is plenty of timely gunfighting to appease those of you seeking extra gratification of "good his VS bad guys."
Most definitely recommend this wonderful depiction of our true old western folklore, as this is a very heartwarming and exceptionally entertaining story that will touch you heartstrings throughout the entire book. Really, this book is definitely worthy of reading, as the story meets all the criteria for even the most hard to please readers looking for excitement and complete satisfaction of you mind.
A good read. If you like westerns, you'll love this one. Or, maybe you just enjoy a relaxing, soft read. You'll still enjoy "What it All Comes Down To." As a staff/faculty graduate school person, I stayed buried in hard reads until, retired for twenty years, I look for fun, easy but interesting books. This is that kind of book. I recommend it!
A DB. Western About A Young Gunman Who Comes to a Friends Help
DB. has. penned a western about a young gunman who travels around to stay in front of his reputation. His best friend calls for help because a large rancher is trying to run him and his family off. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
Look no further for an Author who can truly deliver!!! Duane is by far an excellent story teller!! I have read almost all of his books on Amazon and am begging for more!!! You will never be disappointed by his works!! Please read what he has to offer, and judge for yourself!!!!
We.All know there were not too many jobs for women back in the Old West. School marm, waitress, cook, servant to a wealthy family, laundry worker, prostitute, saloon girl. Bookkeeper if she were educated. Soiled doves. That's what they were called. This is a story about one of them who made it out.
What friends can, will and should be willing to do for each knows no bounds... even when you've been out of contact for a while. Doing good for others, even strangers, can pay off as well. This is a good story about commitment and standing up for right versus selfish wrong.
Duane Boehm has the craftsmanship to write a story describing personalities, their emotions, and ability to change as the story unfolds. A lot of surprises in the pages, that for some reason whet the need to keep turning them. Is a sequel out there?
The two main characters fought together in the Civil War. They had a very close call and were almost killed when the people of the town stepped in to save the day.
Good story about redemption and doing the right thing. The characters were believable and the husband/wife interactions sounded real. A strong wife is a gift of God.
What it All Comes Down To by Duane Boehm. A good book of a gunfighter that aids those being abused. He travels to assist a friend and has some life changing events in his life also. I enjoyed reading this book.
A hired gun with a conscience. A rancher who is in jeopardy of losing his ranch. A friendship unbreakable. The interaction of multiple personalities make this story a page turner. A very satisfying and warm story.
I love the story line and was left wondering when and how things were going to come to blows. I've read almost all that Duane Boehm has written and praying he writes some new ones soon.
Enjoyed your writing and I will be reading more of your work. The story was a lesson to all who reads it that with out our constitution we could lose everything.
I love a story the has a good plot, well developed characters, and plenty of humour as well as action, I recommend this book and I plan on reading more of his work.
