Jaylee could count almost everything in her life by fives; five people she’d almost killed by stepping on a landmine, and the five years she’d spent in strained solitude ever since. Then there were the five seconds it took her truck to roll off of the road and nearly kill her best friend, and the five days following that event that changed her life forever. She wouldn’t be counting by fives anymore. For Jaylee, now was the time One. One step at a time toward the altar where Marcus stood waiting for her. Two. Two lives joined as their hearts had always been. Three. Three devils who want her dead. And four. Four very supernatural gifts with which to defend herself and the ones she loves. No more fives. Jaylee would never be able to look at the world the same way again. Not only did angels and daemons exist, but they were a very real part of her everyday life, and as she would soon find out, one side was more a part of her life than she could ever imagine. The more the hell-spawn threaten Jaylee’s existence, the more they unintentionally unlock surprising gifts from within her, and reveal the secrets that surround her. Nothing in her life is exactly what it seems, and no one is who…or what…she thought they were.
I have read and reread this series and I absolutely love the story the characters and the style of righting I totally enjoyed them from the first page I was hooked and couldn’t put it down
This is the 2nd book in the Prophet’s Legacy series and begins where book 1 (The Ward) left off. You really need to read The Ward before you start the Phoenix Jaylee and Marcus are married in front of friends and family and their circle grows as more Nephilim are discovered and brought to Jaylee’s. We’re also introduced to more Archangels and some are returned to the Family. There’s epic battles between the spawns from Hell and the Angels and Nephilim and the Nephilim are truly coming into their powers and learning to control them. This story has a great build up to the battle, with surprise appearances. We get a glimpse into what’s coming for the band of Angels and Nephilim who have gathered on Jaylee’s property. The world building and expansion is amazing, I have no trouble identifying all the new characters (there’s a fair few) and their role. I love the characters, I love where the storyline seems to be heading, and I am truly loving this series. I can’t wait to dive into The Transgression next!!
Jaylee and Marcus are now married! More angels and other people thought normal but are Nephilim keep appearing. The more that arrive the more answers are needed! Turns out, more prophetesses are out there and wait until you find out who their daddy is! Two members of Jaylee’s family is taken by daemons in an effort to take her! An epic battle occurs where Lucifer himself appears! Another member of Jaylee’s family is special! They discover one of their own is evil and not good! Jaylee is taken but why? Once she returns she keeps hearing someone else’s voice… who is it? Why? The action packed book ends in another cliffhanger! More of the pieces are coming together; everyone is training hard, and expecting the worse to come! I love this series and cannot wait until I read the next installment! I received this book for free and am leaving a voluntary review.
I was pleasantly surprised by all the additions to the story in this second book of the series. Just when I thought I had things figured out, another surprise character, gift, or twist would pop up. I was dragged into the story and found myself making the journey of discovery right along with Jaylee. I have so much to say about this book, but I don't want to give anything away and spoil the story, but this is a MUST read and was even better than the first book. And the ending has me anxious to see what happens next in the series.
Wow there comes a point when I don't know what to say. And this book has me at that point. It is just awesome. I can see the authors growth in this book. And I absolutely loved book #1. But somehow the books keep getting better... It is so well written, awesome characters and a off the charts story line. It continues the story from book 1. Haylee just wants her man Marcus and her loved ones safe. But when you add in gods, seer's, angels and devils into the mix nothing is easy. It keeps you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the last.... A definate must read!!!!
This book has so many twists and turns that at times it was difficult to keep up but I was so lost in it that once I started I could not stop. I love this series about and Marcus and Jay Lee and look forward to the next installment
