Gross gross gross. The pictures (plural) of the baby spiders creeped me out. What's worse, my son made me Google each spider because the book doesn't say what kind they are. Pretty spiders with all the colors I guess, if you are not creeped out by large spiders.

Ewwww yuck....spiders! Well at least they don't jump off the page. My son enjoyed learning about spiders and how they catch their prey.

This title is one of the “Blastoff! Reader Backyard Wildlife” series. It describes spiders for beginning readers. It covers the spider’s physical characteristics, eating habits and reproduction. Each spread has a page of text with 2 sentences paired with a color, close-up photograph of a spider in action. Glossary words are bolded on the pages. Back matter includes a glossary, bibliography, publisher’s website and index. The title is also a good choice for populations with limited reading abilities and classroom collections. The photographs alone are wonderful. It's a great browsing book or for sharing with friends.

Children will love the pictures in this book. It provides basic information about spiders that young readers will want to learn.
