I did. I always dreamed of being invited into an elite school and living away from my family. If you were like me and grew up on books and movies about magical boarding schools then you probably shared my dream. When I saw the flyer advertising the Dragon Research Initiate Program, I signed up -- an impulsive decision that changed the course of my life.
I discovered an incredible world, hidden from humans, with shifters, vampires, and witches. It was the world I always want to be a part of, full of beautiful magic. However, I never considered the dangerous bits. The reasons supernaturals kept to the shadows. The darkness that accompanied the beauty. From within that darkness, I uncovered a shocking truth about myself. A truth my new friends must never know. If they knew, it would mean my death.
Now, I'm trapped and living among deadly creatures that would kill me if they discovered my secret.
A Slower Start To This One!! Dragon Shifters 🔥🔥🔥 (Read using Kindle Unlimited)
Vanessa is the daughter of an unstable Mother. Her Mum's living in an asylum which Vanessa feels really bad about especially when her Dad moves her & his second wife and her half brothers to Barcelona, It's much harder to visit her now!😭
Almost by accident she winds up attempting to join the Dragon Research & Authority Centre 'DRAC'! Obviously magic & dragons aren't real but it sounded so exciting!! Although she's unsuccessful her life changes the very next day 😳😱
I'm not quite sold on this series yet, it feels iffy and immature?! I don't like the constant threats against them either, they're still kids after all! I'm a Mum and Nanna, I can't help it 😂 I liked the twist at the end & will jump straight into book 2 regardless 👍
This was pretty good, but it was very short. Interesting, but I don't think I'll read the next one. Nothing was really explained, although the setting of Barcelona was rather interesting. 3.5 stars.
This series and author are new to me and I am really loving the books they are short novella length but is still a fun quick read when you are looking for an urban fantasy book that isn't very long. This review was originally posted on Books In Brogan
Short but awesome! After reading Supernatural Slayer, this story was even more fun to read! I loved Vanessa's story so far and I can't wait to see what happens next! I would love to see some type of visit with her mom now that she has a secret. And where did Christopher disappear to and who is he actually? Woooo….. so many things to look forward to!
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
Wow, I really enjoyed reading this story it kept you wanting to read on. Think teens and young adults would really love it. Vanessa is our star, she has moved to Barcelona with her family. Her biological mother is in a mental institution, and she is not allowed to visit unless with someone else. She gets into the DRIP program and now she is wondering about all the supernatural in life. Can she do it? What about if she becomes like her mom? I received a free come for my honest review
It's wonderful and terrible how authors of a series end with a cliff-hanger in volume one. Jayse has done it here! But she also has really gotten me to care what happens to Vanessa Garcia, to whom the supernatural world is completely new.
The events in the first Supernatural Slayer book, concerning Aisha the bounty hunter, are intermingled with this story. For me that lent another layer of fascination to Vanessa's experiences.
Another series set in the same world as Magic Runes and Supernatural Slayer. Once again a different perspective since the character has a different background. I enjoyed the book. I like the interactions between the characters in the different series. It gives the new series a familiar feel when you start. I'm waiting for the next one to come out.
I loved learning Vanessa's story! I hope to get more of her in the future! My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the errors i found in the book. I'll submit them to the author for review.
This is a very short and quick read, basically giving us a snippet into the life of vanessa.
If I wouldn't have read Supernatural Slayer first I would have given five stars but because of it I already knew about the MC, program and being a witch. I think book two will be much more interesting.
Its a very very short read ... I do like Vanessa's character ... looking forward in reading the next part (somebody please give me a copy plssss LOL! )
