This was such a fun novella!!

Our heroine Helen has been mated to an alien male on the planet Everis. However, when they first meet each other, the alien requires that she is blindfolded. Zee is the alien, and he says he has his reasons for blindfolding his mate and keeping his identity from her. He was heavily wounded in battle and is covered in scars. He does not want to scare his mate away, so he makes sure that she cannot see his face. But then Helen shows him that she will care for him no matter what he looks like.

I really liked this!! It goes away from the reused plot Grace Goodwin uses often in her alien romances, which was so refreshing. I can also appreciate a heroine who falls for a damaged hero. This was just great and I hope there are other novellas like this one in the rest of the series :)

Claiming His Virgin is the fourth book in the Interstellar Brides: The Virgins Series but can be read as a stand alone. Helen is on Everis, waiting for her mate to claim her, mind, body, heart, and soul, but he’s hiding from her. While he dream shares with her and during each of their meetings, he keeps her eyes covered and refuses to give his name. Bending his rules, she learns who he is, but is he hiding from her because he doesn’t truly want her as a mate? Can she gain his trust as she gives her love?

This was definitely a great addition to the Interstellar Brides series! Helen was such a great character because she had so much faith and trust in the system, was willing to give herself fully to her mate, and while she craved submission, she was willing to step up to claim the male she wants! Zee was all alpha, battle-hardened Warrior, blessed with a matched mate, but was hesitant to be rejected by her. One aspect of this book (and several other Interstellar Brides books) is how accepting us human ladies are to scars. I loved how Helen looked beyond the scars and wasn’t frightened away like Zee thought she might be. Instead, she saw pride and honor, loyalty and safety within his arms. Trust was definitely a huge factor in this book, and I loved how Helen got Zee to make him claim. I really enjoyed this book and highly suggest every single one of the books in this series by Ms. Goodwin. Once you read one, you won’t be able to stop!

Part of the Alien alphas book, one of 23 stories in the book. I started this series by Grace Goodwin and this was the next book. Really enjoying this series, and the book is a great addition. Helen is from earth and ready to meet her true mate. She has the mating mark and the dreams, now to meet her match. He is her master, just the way she likes it, but Hunter Zee has his reasons for her wearing the blindfold. Trust works both ways, now he needs to trust her.

THE EYES WERE THE GATEWAY TO THE SOUL

I enjoyed this fourth book in the Interstellar Brides: The Virgins series but can attest that it will read well as a stand-alone and the reader will not feel lost or unable to follow the story. While a group of women came from Earth to become brides in the Interstellar Brides Program, not all will meet their Marked Mate, a rare occurrence that only happens every now and then. But for Helen of Earth, and Everian Hunter Zee, they are Marked Mates.

“I’d been told only Marked Mates would dream share. Only Marked Mates would have the marks on the palms awaken. That it was a true gift because only a small number found their other half. I had. A woman from Earth who somehow was an Everian descendent. The mark on my palm proved it.”

Helen is a beautiful woman and so excited to meet and be claimed by her Marked Mate, but he has an odd request for her, that she must be blindfolded, and remain that way. She will accept his terms, but with the help of some of the other Earth women, she will come up with a plan to see her mate, the one who refuses to give her his name and insist she calls him Master.

“To you, and you alone, my name is Master. Your Master.”

“The only thing I wanted was a man strong enough to rule me. As instructed, I folded my hands together demurely and sat with my spine straight and my head bent, waiting for my master to come claim me. He was my Marked Mate, my perfect match, a one in a hundred chance.”

Hunter Zee is a scarred warrior from his battles and has seen how his appearance repulses women; they only see what is on the surface. Then for his mark to come alive indicating he had a Marked Mate coming to him has him both excited but dreading the encounter. Then upon seeing her, he decides she must be blindfolded, he doesn’t know what he will do if she rejects him.

“Everything about her was perfect. Passionate. Obedient. Submissive. Beautiful. I was scary looking. Dangerous in appearance. Ruthless. It mattered not how I’d come by the injuries. It matter not that, among other fighters, the scars were proof of bravery, of service. But with the females, with my mate? It wasn’t a badge of honor but a mottling of skin that caused revulsion and disgust.

The plot will have Helen and Zee meeting, but his orders always required her to have a blindfold. She will finally be able to see him and what she sees is a man who valiantly fought, received battle wounds, but she craves him completely, heart, body, and soul. How far is Helen willing to go to have Zee make a stand for her? Is a bit of trickery worth the cost?

“I needed to know what he was hiding. No—why he was hiding from me. Disobeying? Definitely, but I considered it more bending his request to fit my needs, too.”

“My mark aches for you. Claim me, Master. Make me yours forever.”

The story appeared in the Alien Alphas-- Twenty-Three Naughty Sci-Fi Romance Novellas from last year and is no longer available. The story has been altered, expanded, and is now a longer story than from the box set.

Helen waited in the lovely garden on another world, Everis, her new home. Her marked mate would be coming for her; her own mate mark burned in her palm, indicating he was near. She was assured at the Interstellar Brides Processing Center that he would fulfill all of her wishes – even the secret ones she couldn’t talk about out loud. Unlike her peers, she didn’t want to be powerful and aggressive in her profession. She preferred to be loved and protected, to serve others who needed her; old-fashioned, with a life like her grandmother had lived. She wanted a strong man to take care of her, to assert his dominance. Here, now, she could be who she wanted to be and have what she wanted. There was no turning back.

As instructed in her dreams that she shared with her mate, she tied a black silk scarf over her eyes. When he walked up to her, she knew his voice and his scent. But he would not tell her his name and wouldn’t let her see him. She had three claims he would make before they were fully mates. Up until the last one, she could reject him and choose someone else – although marked mates were rare and perfectly matched for each other. But she had not seen her mate yet, and he was afraid his scars would drive her away. The Hive was a fierce enemy and he had many facial scars that other females had looked at with revulsion. Would she want him when she finally saw him? Seeing fear and loathing in Helen’s eyes would destroy him! Was he right to hold onto even the slightest hope?

The author’s writing is, as always, wonderful and she grabs the reader’s interest from the first page, letting the reader feel the tension as the bride is about to meet her mate. She creates a mental image of a lovely planet that values loving mates who give full attention to their new brides. The story line itself is excellent and well-paced. The characters are described in a way that the reader easily comes to know them deeply and care that they find happiness. I must admit that I personally do not at all like dominance, punishment and “call me master” situations, but the author deals with the subject matter in a gentle, caring manner that really surprised me. This is a good addition to the Interstellar Brides Program series that many already enjoy. I look forward to the next book in this wonderful series!

I so enjoyed this gem by Grace Goodwin. Although it is shorter than most of her other stories, It gives us an introduction to the mating customs of the warrior Hunters of Everian. I gave this book a five rating. Grace efficiently establishes that our heroine chose to be an Interstellar Bride and was a perfect match to one of the Hunters on Everis. She was transported to The Touchstone. The Touchstone holds all the prospective brides and is carefully guarded by fiercely protective Hunters. Her name is Helen. She is looking for a strong dominant male to take control as she is deeply submissive. She has what she thought was a birthmark on her hand, but now knows it is the Mating Mark. A distant ancestor came to Earth from Everis and that is why she carries this special mark.

What I think are the salient points to this story are the growing trust and affection she has for her mate, and he for her. He has what he considers a shameful secret; and so, he makes her cover her eyes whenever they are together, as he has her do when they 'dream share' during their sleep. Helen comes through with a wonderful plan to help her mate get past his insecurities.

I think that anyone who has read Grace Goodwin's alien stories will love this one, too. If you have not yet tried her stories, hers will take you far away from your Earthly cares and transport you to other worlds where true love comes naturally. I received this book as an ARC, but the choice to read/review was left up to me. It was a pleasure to give you my opinion. A delightful 5 Stars from me. Now go get this little jewel!

Grace Goodwin- Claiming His Virgin(Interstellar Brides: The Virgins Book 4)
This is the 4th book of the Virgins spinoff of the Interstellar Brides. Helen has been matched at the Interstellar Brides to a dominant Evarian Hunter, Zee, who meets her sexually submissive needs. Her mating mark burns for its Evarian mate, and his burns for her, a special and rare gift when they find each other.
Helen is confused and frustrated my the male she has been matched to, Zee. He insists she be blindfolded during their meetings where he fills all her dreams of a dominant/submissive relationship. The scenes are hot and sexually charged as Zee begins the three steps to the Evarian Claiming.
Frustrated and desperate Helen, along with the help of the other “Brides”,finds a way to see her mysterious mate through the blindfold. When she gets a peek at Zee sees way beyond the scars which she feels even more attracted to the brave warrior.

Zee, has been scarred while fighting in the Hive Wars and believes he now looks like a monster no woman will have. Stubborn and fearful he will lose the female he has surprisingly been matched to, Zee continues to insist Helen not be able to see him.
Somehow she must devise a plan to show Zee that love goes way beyond what is on the outside. Besides the very sizzling scenes there is a very important message about seeing and perspective that pulls at our heartstrings.
A great novella sized story that can be read as stand alone but I find much more enjoyable in series order.

YES, YES, YES!!

Claiming His Virgin is the 1.5 book in the five book virgin series by Grace Goodwin. This book can be read as a standalone, but as always I would suggest reading all the books in order because, new and old characters appear in all the books in the series, and historical background on the overall series plot is talked about in all the books. This book originally appeared in a twenty-three book sci-fi novella. I only bought that book because Ms. Goodwin appeared in it. It was that good to me, I read it again.

This book to me, seems like a futuristic, “Beauty and the Beast”. You fall a little bit in love with the hero right from the beginning. And, the Heroine is so likeable you develop a load of respect for her. I love the sequence of each book, and how each virgin takes off from the first meeting of the virgins to completing their “three rituals”.

Helen is a strong photographer from Earth. She doesn’t mind taking the role of submissive because, she knows who she is and what she wants. She’s sexy, spunky and totally in love with her hunter.

Elite Hunter Zee is from the planet Everis. Zee is a scarred ex-soldier of the Hive wars. He’s dominant, loving and loyal to his “matched mate”.

I like the characters, the imaginary planet and its race, the emotional and sexual descriptions are right on point if you like, sci-fi, erotic, romance.

Good Job Again Lady!!

Although Helen and Zee's marks are burning, a true test of a marked mate, they are on shaky ground. Zee does not want Helen to see him. He's afraid once she sees his scars she will want to run away screaming in horror. As they finally get to meet, he will not approach his mate until Helen dons the blindfold he left for her. They can only be together if she submits to him and that begins with wearing the blindfold. They are marked mates and they have been dream-sharing but Zee still insists that Helen wear her blindfold even as Zee takes the Three Virginities. Helen is getting upset that Zee will not let her look upon him and does her best to try and work around it. Zee meanwhile, insists that Helen cannot see him even though his good friend, Hunter Quinn tries to convince him that he's making a big mistake. The seductions of Zee with Helen continues as long as Helen continues to wear the mask but it cannot go on that way forever. How can Zee be shown that his scars are not what Helen cares about, she wants her marked mate! The story tells us that even though everything points to a perfect match made by the interstellar brides program and warden Egara has been 100 percent successful, men will always doubt when it comes to their manly vanity. This was an enjoyable quick to read book that does give us a HEA after all the angst and secrets get exposed.

*Spoilers* tag I really enjoyed reading this book it was like coming home and I couldn’t wait to get to the end but now I wish it didn’t end. Helen is a bride going to Everis for her mate after her processing at the interstellar bride program office and can hardly wait to meet her man, what will he be like will he want her and why does her birthmark burn hot since she came with other brides to Touchstone, all is revealed by the staff and Helen is surprised to find out that her birthmark is rare and burns hot because her mate is near. Hunter Zee is at touchstone looking for his bride and to over see there protection and never in a million years would he ever find his marked mate it is so rare that others are jealous and happy for him and Zee is happy but scared as well because he is scarred on his face and neck from wounds in battle with the hive and many men and women flee when they see him so how can his mate love and want him. I want to say more but better not get this amazing book and fall in love with these men and women on Everis.

Another wonderful addition! - Claiming his Virgin is the fourth book in the Interstellar Brides: The Virgins series. But will the Elite Alpha Hunter Zee claim her?? Suspense, Suspense and more Suspense - It seems so easy - The title alone - Virgin Brides - implies marriage, right? But will Zee find the courage to claim beautiful Helen? Zee is badly scarred from his time in the war with the Hive, women cannot look at him without fear and horror. He feels, he looks monstrous and how can a beautiful, innocent Helen want him. Grace Goodwin is an incredible author and she builds the suspense until we can barely breathe, as the tension and apprehension builds. The story is well written, the characters have depth and exudes romance with very passionate sizzling sex scenes. Helen is a wonderful character with faith and trust and took pride in her brave mate Zee. Now, can she show Zee how worthy, he is and come claim her? It can be read as a stand alone but I have enjoyed ALL the books from Grace Goodwin. I could say more but, it’s time for you to pick up the book and enjoy!!

Helen has the mark, the mark that means she has a fated mate on Everis, an Elite Hunter. She arrives but is disappointed that although they are dream sharing, he has yet to claim he and she watches sadly as her friends pair off with their own Hunters.

War scarred Zee is Helen’s mate, afraid to approach the beautiful woman in fear of being rejected, he watches her longingly from the shadows. Eventually, with a little coaching, he approaches her to initiate the claim of her three virginities, under the proviso that she is blindfolded. Helen accepts but is desperate for her mates identity to be revealed and sets out on a plan to discover who he really is and why he feels he needs disclose his identity.

A super, shorter than normal read from this author, but no less entertaining, I really enjoyed Zee’s and Helens’s story. The characters were interesting and I was enthralled to see if they got their HEA.

This is the 4th in the series of Interstellar Brides: The Virgin Series. We once again are transported to the Touchstone on Everis the sacred place that women come to in hopes of finding their mates, fated ones if it should come to pass with a mark. Experienced Hunter Zee is a legend among his warriors. Deep scars are evidence of a battle with the Hive. Helen tests for the Bride program and realizes that all of the sexual dreams she has been having are with her fated mate. Dream Sharing is a special gift only bestowed upon Fated Mates. Once she is at the Touchstone she is desperate to find her mate. He has been hiding from Helen. Even in their dreams he will not allow her to look at him. Helen is not stupid and quickly figures out who her fated mate is. Will Helen ever get her mate to show his true self? Sit back and read this tantalizing sexy story.

Book four in the Interstellar Brides: The Virgins series a well-written book that I enjoyed from the first page until the last one. Helen has come to meet her Marked Mate and perform the three sacred virginities with him, but Elite Hunter Zee will not let her see him. Helen is blindfolded when she is with her mate, she does not understand why. A friend helps her with the blindfold she wears at their second meeting it is a one- way and she can see what he is hiding, his face and body have massive scars. Helen must now find a way for her to let Zee know they do not matter to her. I would recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fourth installment in the series, we're back at the Touchstone on Ever is.
Helen is in the lucky few to find her Marked Mate.
Helen is excited to find her match.
She is eager to give in to her deepest desires.
Unlike modern women, Helen longs to be submissive and dominated by her partner.
When the mark on her Palm flares to life it proves that Helen has found her match.
Her fantasies are fulfilled upon meeting her mate, yet not fully because her mate hides his identity from her.
He insists on Helen wearing a blindfold which makes it kinky and more pleasurable but it also makes Helen skeptical about how her mate really feels about her.
Is their connection real or not?

I continue to love Grace Goodwin's books, and I enjoy that Claiming His Virgin was an extension of the previous book by looking at one of the other brides in the story. I am SO curious to hear all of their stories, and I enjoyed the bits and pieces of the characters we get to see in this one from earlier in the series.

This one was SO short that it lacked some development for me. Now, I loved Helen and Zee, but I wanted more time with them and I wanted more development between the two of them as they built their relationship.

However, I'm super excited to see what is next for Grace Goodwin. I want Quinn's story :D

I loved this story. Helen knows exactly what she wants and needs while Hunter Zee has concerns over his appearance. The characters in this story are well done and the premise is such a love story. It is a sweet, yet hot tale of two people seeking their mate. Great job Ms. Goodwin.

This is the fourth book in the Interstellar Brides series. Helen can't wait to be claimed by her marked mate. Zee is her marked mate but, he is afraid that his beautiful mate will reject him because of his scars. Therefore, he will only meet with her if she agrees to wear a blindfold. This is a wonderful story and I would definitely recommend it.

Fantastic as always

So why only three stars? Well to be honest I feel a little cheated. I was looking forward to this book and had saved it so I could really enjoy it only to find out I'd already read it! It wasn't a new book at all, this story had been released before and I'd already read it. Gutted!!!

No extra content :(

As always Grace' s books are amazing. And I truly enjoyed this short story, though I wasted my money as it was exactly the same as in the Alien book. There was no extra content. So if you've read it in Alien bundle, you've read it!

Enjoyed this revised and expanded version of this novella a lot. A good way to 'dip your toe' into the Interstellar Bride series to give you a taste and see if it's for you! I read the original version but enjoyed this one a lot more - more info, more detail and more steam!! Great quick read.

There were some interesting elements here with Zee coming to terms with his injuries and the idea that love goes beyond the surface. It seemed more of a novella to me because it was very focused on the inner lives of the main characters.

Short

Too short
Too corny
Too much money.

What was this even about? The scared hunter afraid to show himself to his make and then does out of rage. The end.
