Fiona Fleming #9

Runways and High Heels and Murder

Rate this book
An empowering kind of moment I had no idea hitting someone could be so emotionally satisfying. Not that I condoned violence on a regular basis, but I did happen to be known for my temper. Still, I usually took the pacifist route on the outside, if I tended to boil over on the inside. This opportunity to actually use my fists to strike out at another human being had much more appeal than I should have allowed myself. And the tight grin and panting half-hiccup, half giggle that escaped me every time I punched Matt honestly had to go. Self-defense class was fun, yo. Fee and Crew have fallen into a delightful romance while Reading’s continuing popularity keeps her busy at work. When a fashion show comes to town, Fee finds herself hosting Vivian French’s favorite designer at Petunia’s, along with the drama that entails. But when one of the elite ends up dead, it’s the drama between her loved ones that gets Fee the most riled up while she does her best to solve yet another murder. I write a lot of paranormal books for someone who is afraid of the dark. And I wonder why I have to sleep with the lights on. Sometimes life is a teenaged B horror movie and I'm the one who investigates when the scary music is playing. But the voices are calling and resistance is… Yes. I am a Star Trek geek, too. And a fan of RPG’s. With a slight coolness factor since I've been told I'm allowed to join the pops.

Naw. I like being a nerdy girl :)

The life of Fiona Fleming is strating to become quite interesting. Once again in this story, we learn a bit more about her past, her childhood and old mysteries are revealing themselves, while others have their plot thickening in what seems like impossible threds to untangle.
I really did like this book, and this time I was not at all able to guess who had done it or why. So it was a nice surprise to find out.
The ending of this book will please many ladies out there. Not telling why, just read till the last chapter to see ladies, and a few gents, and I am sure that it will put a smile on your face.
This series, the more I read, the more I see how reading these books as a stand-alone book is now a total impossibility. You absolutely have to read the books in this series in order and not as stand-alone books. I can only imagine the nightmare it would be for a reader to start at this point without having read the previous books. It would be a sure headache to try to follow. So do yourself a favor and start form book 1 and go in order, trust me, you will prefer it that way.
Happy reading.

You know, this is a mostly enjoyable series.
But, I'm really getting tired of Robert.
He's rude, arrogant, unprofessional, and pretty much a pain in the rear, on purpose.
I don't find his antics humorous, and he could have been dealt with several times over. Anywhere from when he slapped Fiona in the rear, to his stupidity of when he was left as the acting sheriff.
9 books in and he's still going strong.
It's reached the point that I no longer fully enjoy the stories simply because of this one character who's become more of a distraction than a viable character in the series.
I've stopped other series I really liked due to the performance of an incompetent cop. I'll stop this one also.

This is Not a normal review for me, but it needed to be said.

I just can't get enough of these fun fast and delightful reads! This series is super cute and this installment is no exception in that department. While there are some continuing mysteries that keep slowly unfolding, and even some serious themes throughout, the general lightness of the writing and flow of action remains consistent. Can't wait to read the next one!

I love my time spent in Reading

I have become quite fond of my trips to Reading. In fact this was my 9th visit, and I always stay at Petunia’s. I feel like I know the characters and very much care what happens to them. I enjoy the themes that run through the series; not everything gets answered all at once. I’m eager to begin Book 10.

Enjoyed the story as I have enjoyed this series. The lower rating was because of all the grammatical errors. The proof reader / editor did a poor job on this one.

Fiona Fleming is back again and things get crazier than ever! Lol

I love this series so much and each book brings something new to the story that makes it irresistible to put down while also gets yours adrenaline pumping through the crazy and shocking twists and turns, the roller coaster of emotions (laughter, tears, jaw dropping with shocking revelations!!!) This book has it all and they keep getting more awesome with every story!!! But the part i loved most of all is the ending ( i know.. i know.. we never like to see a good book come to and end and it remains true for this one too!!!) But this ending will have you jumping up and down in excitement with happy tears! So do yourself a favor and get a copy you wont regret it!!! This book has everything you could ever love, awesome story, picturesque places so beautifully detailed you feel alive and living in the story, charming characters who have grown so much and always proves the importance of family and friend relationships!
I do love my cozy mysteries and the author did a fantastic job writing this book! She really gets it and knows how to captivate the readers attention and entertain them!!!
