Back then the boy next door was a beautiful contradiction. An avid reader, the town brawler-my dangerous crush. Until one day he up and left town like a thief in the night, leaving me devastated.
A decade later, my nightmare returned. But Will Lewin was no longer the wild, charismatic boy of my past. He was a successful restaurateur, a stranger. He was something bitter and resentful. A fully grown man...who still left me reeling.
I didn't want his help. But I had nowhere else to turn. I had to let him back in. Even if I still hated him. Even if he could never forgive me for what I'd done.

Wrath is from Emily's Seven Vices Series, which is a series of standalone contemporary romances that can be read in any order. This is a steamy, full-length romance with a HEA.
This one is a little bit second chance romance and a little enemies to lovers romance - both of which are among my favorite romance tropes. This author and series were new to me, but the book works well as a standalone and I was quite impressed with the writing style and wonderful characters. All of the characters, love them or hate them, they're all interesting. Will drove me crazy with his back and forth and Chloe is nearly as infuriating, but whether because of that or in spite of it, I found myself rooting for them. They both have plenty to snark to throw at each other and we even get a few chuckles along the way. In addition to some steamy romance, we also get some suspense as secrets from the past meet present day and someone wants to keep those secrets hidden. To sum it up, Wrath is a compelling story and one I would easily recommend.
I'm not new to this authors books, I've pretty much read everything Emily has written. This book right here blew me away. I love this authors style. Wrath will not disappoint. It's incredible, steamy, and downright delicious.
A little slow but entertaining. Angst, drama and steam. Will and Chloe were a mismatched pair of friends. Not everyone is happy with the friendship. A horrible event cause a separation. 10 years later they come together and things get interesting. Second chances and Plot twists with great characters. Great start to the series
I just love this author's style. She takes a story that everyone writes these days, boy falls in love with neighbor, stuff happens he runs and she avoids. But anyone who has read this author's books know they are never that simple. Thru flashbacks their past is told and we understand what happened to make Will run. But he came back and that's just the beginning of the revelation. See but this author doesn't stop there. Not only does she bring the bad boy back to town she unravels an intricate web of deceit. She does it well yes she does. Twist and turns, layer upon layer. It's always exciting to read her books and see where she is taking you. Her characters become your friends. You want them to get their hea. You want them to heal and forgive.
As usual there is a lot going on in this authors story. We expect nothing less and in this the Seven Vices series which are standalones, you get the chance to know and love the characters and become invested. She takes the time to introduce you to the characters and get up close and personal. No fast short story here. This is truly what a second chance romance is all about.
This author is new to me. When I read the premise I thought to myself, “I just have to get my hands on this. I was so excited. Until I wasn't. The pace was slow and agonizing. Then it wasn't as agonizingly slow and there was a reason for it. Even though this is book two it can be read as a standalone. So many feels with this book. It is told in both main characters point of views and at times it switched from present to the past. I am usually not a fan of that but it was needed here and I for one needed to know how they formed the friendship.
She is strong will and is an awesome and amazing woman though Chloe is reeling from the death of her father and just when she is down she finds out the coffee shop/cafe is in the red and she is going to lose it. Her mom left her father and just walked away.
Will is the atypical bad boy. In every sense of the word. He carries no remorse for how he treats his mother's boyfriends. He left town ten years ago and never really looked back. He made a good name for himself in New York. Now he is back because his former neighbor and sort of father figure has passed away.
Chloe and Will have bad blood and chemistry. They were best friends. Will could count on her to be there for them. They had so much in common. Right down to their family situations. Things did not end well. Now he is back as stated to help bring life back to the cafe and the urging request of Chloe’s father. As I said the book was so slow. It needed this pace though. That was just my problem. I am so used to reading books that have such a steady flow or fast pace this was different for me. It was needed in his book. I have to say I kept waiting for the shoe to drop. It did all right, drop I mean. There are a couple of plot twists one I didn't even think about. I actually had to laugh at myself for not seeing it. I am usually pretty good about it. Communication or lack thereof would have prevented a lot of things.
The players are great. Loved Will’s brothers and Chloe’s best friend. They were amazing brothers and a great support system for them. There are a couple people I would have liked to smash in the face *coughs HARVEY coughs* I loved reading this slow torturous burn. It is always great to read about a heroine that sticks up for herself. I want to read more of this series.
”Will and I had been something more than friends, but not together either.”
Growing up, Chloe and Will were neighbours and total opposites. She was the do-gooder, good girl, and he was the wild, bad boy. Nonetheless, as friends, they worked. They discovered that they actually had things in common, and the chemistry between them was alive and sizzling. However, Chloe had a boyfriend, and there was no love lost between him and Will.
One tragic night, everything changed between them. Chloe‘s world fell apart and Will ran away. Chloe felt abandoned and Will felt betrayed. She never saw him again until ten years later, Will returns to town and Chloe is in for a shock.
”Sometimes, it felt like we were two magnets drawn to each other, and it took all my strength to resist his pull.”
I loved Chloe and Will’s story. The attraction between them was smouldering. The time apart never dampened the pull they had to each other. They had both been through a lot and both still carried hurts from the past. I loved reading both POVs and you realise that they saw events from the past in two different lights - and that there is a deeper mystery to be solved. They were both bitter and resentful, but all the tender feelings were lurking beneath and drawing them together.
This story was angsty and exciting, and the chemistry between the main characters was amazing! I thought the plot was solid and I loved the ending.
I enjoyed this author’s writing style so much that I’m definitely going to pick up her other books.
This was the first book I ever read by Emily Blythe and I can't wait to read more. This wasn't your typical romance story. It was also full of drama and mystery. I found myself rooting for Will and Chloe from the beginning and I loved the flashback scenes between the two of them. All of the characters are relatable and well developed. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
This was a beautiful story! I instantly fell in love with Chloe! And I was rooting for her and Will through the whole book. They had been through so much together. This author never seems to disappoint.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
This was such an amazing story. The depth that the author got into every character wad amazing! Not just the main characters. Everyone had a purpose. Chloe and Will are just perfect. We all had that one crush in high school that we wished was more. Usually not realizing they felt the same way. Young, stupid love. The things Chloe and Will had to overcome in their life. No one should have to go through that and yet for thr most part came out okay. I loved the flashbacks it really got me into the backstory and i loved that there were snippets throughout the story. I felt it kept me more engaged thay way! I loved the writing style the author used in this book. There was so much detail that had to be lined up just right. I was really impressed. I havent read anything by this author before but she has quickly become a must read for me. I will recommend this book to anyone!!!! I was so happy. I didn’t want it to end! I think this book would be an awesome movie
What a fantastic book. I couldn't put this book down super addictive. This story is written so amazingly well that she keeps you on the edge of your seat. you will laugh you will cry and you will hope against everything for this couple but will it be enough. its super cute but so hurtful in places Chloe's world ended when her best friend Will left town without getting in contact after he was accused of setting a fire. But 10 years later, Chloe's father dies and she is totally heartbroken but she was expecting Will to show up at the funeral. but the real kicker is that Will is back to help with her failing business. but can they work together and clear the air about the past? I can not recommend this book enough it was a fantastic read and i can not wait to read more from Emily Blythe.!!!!! I received an ARC and I'm now choosing to leave my honest review GRAB THIS BOOK its a brilliant read
This is my first read in many years but decided to give Wrath a shot based on the cover.
I’m glad I did! Wrath was an easy read and a real page turner. I was absorbed in the small town of Falcon, protagonists Chloe and Will and the side stories of their close friends and their nemesis Harvey. That bastard!
Reading this really felt like I was watching episodes of a tv show like Riverdale on a binge. I read this entirely in a matter of days and was entertained from start to finish not to mention the the book is full of subtle dark humor that I enjoyed.
The tension between both Chloe and Will was compelling, interesting and steamy the whole way through.
Definitely keeping an eye on this author from now as reading Wrath got me back into the hobby. I really want the next release but I guess I’ll have to check the back catalogue!
Beautiful and tormented second chance 4.5 It's a good romance, well written, a little melodramatic, with good characters. The only negative for me, are the feedback on the past in the middle of the course of the book. At the moment when Chloe's life collapses after the death of her father who was holding a coffee shop, in a small town rotten by the mayor his former boyfriend, his ex-best friend by which she was attracted returns: Will. She discovers that he could be the co-owner of coffee shop and that she will have to face him too, while both hate each other, both thinking that they have been betrayed by the other in the past, even if they secretly loved each other. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
The first half of the book was going to flashbacks of what happened with the characters and I enjoyed knowing the reason why they are like they are today, I loved the story it had so many emotions and I was hooked. Chloe and Will grew up as next door neighbours they were friends until Will left town, now 10 years later Chloe’s father has died and now she’s the soul owner of the coffee shop but it’s badly in debt. Will comes back to town when he hears about the man who treated him like a son has died he offers to help Chloe with the shop but things don’t go so smoothly and if you read this book you will know what I mean. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
loved this story. I did at times want to strangle Will but I couldn't help but fall in love with him over and over again. everytime he annoyed me he worked his back back into my heart. Chloe at times wound me up as well but for some reason I didn't warm to her as much as I did Will. maybe I was to in love with Will lol. would I recommend this book to anyone that wanted to read it ? The answer to that I a big YES I would. the story has great flow and fully pulled you in. well done Emily on another great book.
I received a ARC copy for a honest review. I just so happened to love the book. All views are my own. and aren't a representative on anyone else.
This was slow paced and I really did not like Will; and when I don’t like one of the characters; 3 star is maximum that I can give. There are books that I don’t like H but you know, in good way; you can feel it that H will redeem himself…and here that did not happen; or maybe not according to mine expectations. Like mentioned it was slow paced and I had trouble to read all… I also liked other characters more than main ones. But that is just me; sometimes is hard to meet my expectations. Writing was good, fluent and I did not have any trouble to follow it…

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Once I started I could not put the book down from start to finish you just could not get enough left you wanting more twists and turns with emotions that makes you want more. Will lived next door to Chloe, Will left when he was old enough. When Chloe's father died, Will caught up with Chloe after her father died. The chemistry between them was hot and steamy. Thank you for allowing me to review your book.

This is a well written slow moving second chance romance. The point of views change from her to him and to the past from both their views. They have to reconcile themselves with their pasts and how it was perceived by both and the reality in between. It is up to them to fix their feelings so they can honor her father, which means a great deal to both of them. Can they save her father's legacy and can they save and rebuild their relationship. This is a good read, but I am used to a faster paced story.

A second chance for Chloe and Will. So well written with captivating characters and an entertaining read. Plenty of drama and broken hearts. Will's back in town but has a lot of bent up resentment for what was done to him and for the girl who broke his heart. A good read that was steamy and full of twists. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review. No cliffhanger and an HEA. This is part of the Vices series but is read as a standalone.
Great ready with a lot of buildup. This was the first time I read this author and wasn't disappointed. Harvey.....I wanted to punch him. The history between Will and Chloe was serious....a lot of damage had been done. I wished they worked it out earlier. But when they did work it out....FIREWORKS. Wow the romance was hot, hot, hot in this one. Great read with a great storyline. I definitely will go back and read Oliver's book now.
This is the first time I have read any of this authors’ work, and my word, I will certainly be 1-clicking the rest. Chloe and Will’s story is steamy, fast paced, and a flawless read. This storyline is filled with angst, drama, twists, heartbreak, love, chemistry, entertainment, and most of all, an all round fantastic second chance read. I highly recommend this novel for all readers, as you will not be disappointed in this engaging page turner!
Have never tried this author before, but she had advertised her books on a quarantine relief page for free so though I would try her out. The story was a bit slow to start with but there was plenty of heat between the main characters and the story wasn't an uncomfortable pace. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book, and it was nice to see the building of the relationship in the flashbacks as well as the present. Am looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Great story with a lot of “who done it action” to keep me guessing. I loved the characters who have a lot of personality that just jumps off the page. This book jumps from past to present but it eventually all pulls together in a really cute HEA. One to read on those rainy days. Happy reading.
I fell in love with this book, the storyline, and most of all Will. Rooting for him to win the girl. Hating Harvey the bad guy. Emily did a great job giving the details of the past that lead to the present. Great story.
A well-written book that I enjoyed reading this is a new Author for me. Wrath was a book I was not putting down until I had finished it. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Cloe's friend Ashley noting at the funeral "I wasn't trolling for guys, but when someone like that comes into your peripheral, you stop. You stop , and you give that shit some respect" after seeing Will.
Another amazing read from this author! Loved the slow burn romance that turned into steamy fireworks :) Well worth reading to the end. The characters were really well developed and interesting. I would read everything this author puts out.
I gave this book 2 stars because of the horrible editing. After the seventh chapter, I couldn't take anymore. The story seemed to be pretty good but the editing was ridiculous.
Chloe and Will have such an exciting and interesting relationship from their youth then again as adults. They try to fight the way they feel but sometimes the lines blur between hate and love. Good story

This book was really well written. It had parts that were semi-predictable, but in the best way possible. The feelings that the author managed to draw out of the characters were outstanding.
