Signs of Love #4

Pisces Hooks Taurus

Rate this book
It’s a time for searching, and a time for finding, Pisces: keep casting your line and you will hook what you’re looking for.

Zane has it all planned out: land the perfect Meet Cute, fall in love, and live happily ever after.
Should be simple enough if he put his mind to it. A little creativity and some thinking outside of the box, and voila, he’d be married to the woman of his dreams.
It would be perfect.
And it would be before his visa ran out.

But why are his feelings running wild now that the pressure’s on? Why is his picture-perfect plan turning into a muddled mess of morphed metaphors he can’t make sense of anymore?

Just as well he’s met an English professor to help. And even though their first meet is anything but cute, this down-to-earth teacher may just be the realist Zane needs to ground him and give him a shot at love after all.

Don’t cast your line too wide, Pisces. Your perfect catch may already have bitten.

Pisces Hooks Taurus (Signs of Love #4) is an MM opposites-attract romantic comedy featuring an unapologetic romantic and a broken realist.

Pisces Hooks Taurus: a summary

Fellas...is it gay to walk your best friend to work, and cuddle in bed, and make him breakfast and get irrationally jealous of his ex and generally want to settle down with him in a home you make together because he’s the love of your li—oh shit.

Awww, this latest chapter in Anyta Sunday's "Signs of Love" series was everything that I love most about M/M romance.

Twenty-three y.o. New Zealand native Zane was determined to find true love, and find it quickly, in order to remain in the United States. Mainly so that he could be there for his favorite brother and his newborn niece, the same way that his brother had been there for him. Well, that and... LOVE, because he's a hopeless romantic.

Then he met 30 y.o. literature professor and divorcee Beckett, who after being cheated on and having his heart pulverized to a fine pulp, no longer believed in love, thinking it a "big, beautiful lie".

I loved the dynamic between extremely-naive Zane and overly-cynical Beckett. Their playful push and pull dynamic completely worked for me.
“Why are you chasing after a green card?”

“I’m not.”

“Let me rephrase. Why the deadline to marry?”

“A deadline to
fall in love and marry. If I’m not 100 percent head over heels, I will go back and stay back. But I’m just . . . determined to be head over heels.”
But Zane's time was running out, with only a very short time remaining to find the perfect Miss Right and seal the deal.

If I'm being completely honest, I wasn't initially sure how well I was going to mesh with Zane. He came across as insanely unrealistic as to how those first online dates might turn into something real. Also, he seemed pretty... simple.

Yet leave it to Anyta to transform Zane into someone I quickly found myself rooting for, becoming his biggest fan.

As Beckett's attraction to his new houseguest's young Chris Hemsworth looks and eternal optimism grew, while Zane cluelessly dated a string of overly-amorous female suitors, with disastrous (and often scary) results, well, I got sucked in pretty quickly.

I also loved Darla, Beckett's wise and seemingly all-knowing next-door-neighbor, who also happened to be Theo's beloved grandmother.

Anyta brought the slow-burn BIG TIME in this latest story, leaving Zane pretty damn clueless until probably 70 percent into the story, while the rest of us saw where things were going pretty early on.

And I absolutely LOVED the ride.

It did take a while to finally get to the steamy bits, which were very steamy indeed, but events unfolded at what I felt were the right time, with an adorable and hopeful "soon-to-be HEA" on the horizon as the book ended.

Theo and Jamie's book, the first in the series, is still my absolute favorite, but folks, this one came in a damn close second, which is nothing to sneeze at in this feel-good, fun and flirty series.

This story had tons of banter, but not really much of the snark found in Theo and Jamie's story, which was probably why this book came in just *behind* book 1 for me.

I'd rate this one at around 4.5 stars and highly recommend it to any fans of the series.

** Note: This story is loosely tied to the previous series, so it 'could' be read as a standalone, but for full enjoyment, I'd recommend at least reading book 1 before this story, as Theo and Jamie did make a cameo appearance here.

This book had me on quote 1: We are all fools in love.

Quote to quote, chapter to chapter, I became more invested in Zane and Beckett's story.

When we meet Zane, he's just purchased a faux bear rug solely as a pun. Later, the bear becomes a bull, but first Zane becomes homeless. On his sister-in-law's advice he texts Professor Becky, who is not a middle-aged woman as Zane assumes, but a man, a very attractive, cynical man who teaches literature and engages in word games for fun.

Zane doesn't know Tolstoy from Toy Story, but he's the most cheerful, lovable guy on the planet. He's NOT an Aussie, thank you very much. He's a Kiwi, and his life goal is to fall in love and get married, preferably prior to month's end when his U.S. visa runs out. But this is not a political move. It’s a romantic one.

Zane doesn't do NSA (no strings attached) or any other acronym. He believes in love at first sight, even tough, according to Beckett, he’s really more of a slow-burn kind of guy. None of Zane’s dates with women work out, and it's not for lack of trying.

It’s because Zane has a boyfriend. He just doesn't know it yet.

Zane and Beckett together were bubbles and rainbows and unicorns. They played and they punned and they cuddled. Zane “bromanced” Beckett hard. He drew him pictures and brought him food and even sat in on his lectures. And Beckett encouraged Zane to write his own comic, instead of wasting his creativity on someone who didn't appreciate it.

The UST was its own MC. I mean, these guys were on (metaphorical) FIRE. Zane had no idea why he had a boner all the time. He was adorably clueless, unaware of Beckett’s jealousy and quiet despair when Zane went out with yet another woman who wanted to maul him. Fortunately, Zane didn't want to be mauled. Well, he DID, but only by Beckett.

When Zane had his epiphany, there was no angst, no self-flagellation. Like with everything in life, Zane jumped in with both feet. And it was HOT. Trust me. The sex was well worth the wait.

And if all that cuteness weren’t enough, we also meet Theo’s grandma who advises hooking Taurus, and visit with Theo and Jamie who have two new surprises of their own. We witness Zane putting Beckett's ex in his place and the best Synonym Standoff of all time.

Pontificate!

I was in love with this story already. Then I read the last quote and grinned like a loon.

My prince indeed.

All the love for Beckett and Zane.

I was swooning big time reading this.I'm sure I've said it before but Nobody does a slow burn romance quite like Anyta Sunday

Move over Theo and Jamie because Beckett and Zane now hold the number one spot of my favourite couples in this series.

Book Four but can be a standalone, although you'd be seriously missing out not reading the other books.

Zane has a dilemma......
His visa is due to expire in a month when he will have to return home to New Zealand.

Ever the optimist,he has the romantic notion that he will meet a girl, sweep her off her feet and live happily ever after and if this solves the visa problem it's an added bonus. But things don't exactly go to plan, especially when he meets Beckett.

Beckett is an English Professor.Hurt by love before he's not looking to go down that road again. But his world is about to be turned upside down when Zane crashes into his life.

You can feel Beckett's ever growing attraction to Zane.Zane, however, remains adorably clueless. In fact he has another mission.....make him and Beckett have the best Bromance ever! He even researches it online(too cute!!)

I found ‘How to Start a Bromance in 13 Steps’ on WikiHow, and this other awesome blog full of questions to deepen our knowledge of each other.”

This book is just delightful from start to finish

The Author wrote in her review that she's terrified to let these boys go

Me too!! I didn't want this to end.

Highly Recommended.

I've been struggling a bit with Anyta Sunday recently, but Pisces Hooks Taurus was adorable.

If you want a super fluffy bisexuality-discovery story with one hopelessly clueless MC and another who is completely adorkable, then this is your book.

Zane is completely oblivious to his growing romance with his "platonic" new BFF, Beckett (Becky). I mean, clueless to the point where it was almost too ridiculous, but this is a romance, not a reality check, and Anyta Sunday seems to be really, really fond of clueless MCs.

The story was slow-burn in terms of their acknowledgement of their relationship, but the feelings seemed to be there almost from the start. Beckett had the patience of a saint, and Zane was a little (a lot) in his own world.

The plot moves along quickly, and there is a lot of witty banter, and (big YAY) some serious heat near the end. Lots of silly misunderstandings, but it was a purposeful comedy of errors, and it was really enjoyable to read.

The ending was super cute, and though this book is part of a series, you'll be just find jumping in as a stand-alone. Recommended.

this cured my depression and cleared my acne

mm romance is the cure to all reading slumps and you can't convince me otherwise. no tropes, no gender roles, just nice old fashioned love & banging. and this was such a lovely continuation to this series.

this book follows zane and beckett. zane is a free spirited comic artist who, through mutual friends, finds a place to crash at beckett's house. beckett is an uptight literature professor spurned by his former husband after only a couple of months of marriage. obviously: antics ensue.

what really made this book was the dialogue and the slow burn. i think that's what's been missing in the last couple of installments of this series. the characters have known each other for a while but their relationship/friendship backstory is unconvincing or the characters are too quirky.

but that wasn't the case here, i was swooning and squealing at least every 30 pages and i was DYING for these characters to make it work. zane was sweet and romantic and beckett was a fun lil curmudgeon.

but there were a couple things i didn't love

first, i felt like zane was too stupid. i know, that sounds bad. but he's a high school drop out who doesn't know the difference between mahogany and monogamy. if someone were really that stupid i don't think they'd be able to bag a college professor. and i was initially really excited about having an under educated romantic lead since that never seems to happen. but i think it might have been milked a little too much. i would have loved to see him be a little wittier despite his lack of education.

and then the end felt a little rushed. there was so much build up and i appreciated all the non-romantic touches and whatnot. but the actual romance felt like it was sort of just shoved in there? i mean the sex was great. but i just wanted more time for them to be together.

also, the ending was extremely realistic but imo that was a downfall. i like romantic gestures, proposals, etc and this was lacking.

all of that being said, this book was so fun and such a good slump-breaking read.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: no one does slow-burn romance like Anyta Sunday.

Hands down, Pisces Hooks Taurus is my personal favourite book of this series thus far.

Much to the shock and disbelief of some readers, I daresay MCs Zane and Beckett even surpassed the awesomeness of Theo and Jamie from book one. I absolutely adored these two exceptionally endearing men – as individuals, as budding friends, and certainly as eventual partners and soulmates. They complemented one another so perfectly. Their every interaction was delightful and often highly amusing, from their initial (hilariously awkward) meet-cute, through to their heart-warming love confessions – I relished and savoured every single moment they shared together.

The sweetness, the humour, and the light-heartedness of this story made me one happy reader. I laughed so hard throughout and probably highlighted passages to the point of over-excessive, but that just goes to show how much I was enjoying myself.

Ultimately, this was another great addition to a continually charming series. Not only that, but this story is now certainly in the running for top spot as my favourite M/M contemporary read of 2018.

An utterly delightful read and, obviously, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Well well well.

Admittedly, Jamie from Leo Loves Aries is still my absolute favorite, but both Zane and Beckett pulled out all the stops to make this a very close second.

One can’t go wrong with hopeless romantic Zane, who is ready to fall head over heels and is just so earnest in his longing to find true love and live happily ever after. Zane is often down on his luck, he’s a dreamer, an artist, and it shows in all his unabashed optimism.

Beckett doesn’t really know what hits him when he meets Zane. He’s helping out a friend by allowing Zane to stay with him for awhile, and Beckett pretty much falls for him the second they meet. Thing is, Zane’s straight… or is he?? Despite his innate goodness and quirky kindness harbored in a sensitive soul, Beckett has had his heart broken in the worst way and doesn’t believe in love anymore.

Ensue classic Sunday slow burn with blatant OTT cluelessness. This book is all innocent flirty innuendo (until it isn’t) peppered with silly sweet funny and always with a punch of feels that leaves you tenderly bruised and oh so affected.

This may be second place but it was one wonderful read that made me smile and melt and swoon in all the best ways!

Oh, this is truly what a good slow-burn, (semi-)unrequited love, opposites attract, friends-to-lovers story should look like!

The obliviousness is strong with this one, and it was absolutely amazing. Becky was obviously head-over-heels for Zane, while Zane didn't appear to have a single clue; Zane thought they were just "bromancing".
I never thought Zane's obliviousness was annoying, though. Instead, I found it resulting in a lot of delicious pining from Becky. Ughh, it was so good!

"How about I tell her you have a boyfriend? A boyfriend who, although he claims he's okay with you dating others, really isn't, but doesn't know how to say that because you guys just met, and deep down he is so broken that he doesn't know if he can risk loving again. But regardless, this boyfriend is jealous as fuck that you have a date tonight or any night."
An unexpected nervous laugh left him. "English professors. You sure know how to whip up some convincing backstory. You'd do that for me?"

I was swooning so hard here, and I also found myself cracking up quite often. At first I thought the second-hand embarrassment was very strong since Zane wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. However, he grew on me very quickly and I ended up thinking he was super entertaining and humorous. Him and Beckett also bounced off of each other so well, and had plenty of good banter.

Zane: Oh, God. Save me.
Becky: Save you?
Zane: She's trying to make me come. In the middle of the restaurant.
Becky: Are you close?
Zane: Not even remotely. Her heel strangled one of my balls and I'm hiding in the bathroom.
Becky: I meant the restaurant. But thanks for the visual.

The characters are extremely likeable and the relationship is so good. The chemistry is through the roof, and I genuinely think these two are perfect together. They are extremely different from each other, but they both have their heart in the right place. They were absolutely adorable.

"Being with you makes marrying Luke seem like the biggest mistake of my life. I f-feel stupid that I thought what he and I had was ... I didn't know a thing."
"Becky, Beckett, are you saying you love me?"

This was just a lot of fun to read and I wish it never ended! I loved it so so so so much!

“You love a lot of things, don’t you?”
“Just the best things. Drawing is one of them.”

Another Anyta Sunday book under my belt and another giant smile on my face! I love her writing and her characterization but I especially adore how she makes me laugh. A professor who is down on his luck in the love department and isn’t sure if he has it in him to trust again and a comic book illustrator who believes in love at first sight, Beckett and Zane stole my heart. Zane ends up meeting Beckett because he needs somewhere to stay and this forced proximity makes for many moments of adorable domesticity. Perhaps it also made me quite hungry. They cooked a lot! I love books that talk about books and this was one of them! The quotes from famous authors featured throughout all relating to love were so touching and really elevated the story for me. The scenes where both guys were jealous were very cute. Another book in this series was adorable and nobody is surprised but I’m saying it anyway! Cute cute cute. Grumpy // Sunshine dynamics just rule. Optimist // Pessimist dynamics also rule! I just loved this. Pure happiness.

I have enjoyed each book in the "Signs of Love" series, and thankfully that includes this little gem ;) This one can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading all the books in this series, just because they are great :P

If you are looking for something adorable, fun and fluffy then look no further !

https://www.google.com/search?biw=1517

These two were all kinds of cute together and their back and forth banter was pretty awesome, even though Zane's cluelessness had me rolling my eyes a time or two :P

Now I am a big fan of slow burn, but not so slow that I want to pull my hair out...Thankfully Anyta seems to know just how I like it ;)

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor you know me so well gif

Zane and Beckett are definitely two opposites that attract and I loved that.... it's one of my favorite tropes... The whole "Toy Story" scene had me peeing my pants !!

As much as I enjoyed Beckett and Zane's story, Callaghan and Percy are still my fave couple for some reason and I have this feeling, they always will be !!

I highly recommend all books in this series ;)

This is a sweet and funny gay romcom full of misunderstandings—and misadventures—where a cute kiwi is trying to find true love in the USA.
The thing is, his dream world is full of frogs not ready for him and his romantic intentions. Till HE comes to play. Beckett (my Beckett, for future references). The hot teacher, the gentleman, the super educated man who loves literature and wine. His opposite? Could be... in some way, since Zane is not that smart. But he compensated his lack of knowledge with the biggest heart ever. And he awakes all the tender in the world.
So, what is the problem with the yummy clever teacher? Well, he’s a broken bull who doesn’t believe in true love and between his reluctance and Zane’s oblivion... well, imagine the kind of things they will drive into.
It’s a good thing that Beckett is not a regular frog. It’s a studious one, all elegance and intelligence.

Pisces Hooks Taurus is funny, sweet, lovely, and full of good banter. It is slow burn at its best with heartwarming situations and a few sexy ones.

This is —with Leo Loves Aries— my favorite in this series. I gave Scorpio Hates Virgo 4 stars and Gemini Keeps Capricorn 4.5, so I know the difference is not huge but something about this book got me from the beginning. I don’t know if it was the top notch humor or the image of that big handsome guy being cute and romantic as hell and oh so lost in a world full of sharks (and frogs).

And I’m so kind that I’ll leave here another pic of my new book boyfriend: Beckett (please note how much in love he looks):

A highly recommend read!

5 stars. So much fun!
Awesome characters with tons of chemistry, this book simply made me happy. I had a constant smile on my face while reading.

Like in Leo Loves Aries, we get only one pov, from the MC that's oblivious that he’s falling for the other MC.

I loved both Beckett and Zane, they were so very different, but perfect for each other.

I love this series!

Zane and Beckett stole the show. These are two MCs that I want in my life! They just had the biggest hearts and both have been trampled on, particularly Zane.

Zane is the youngest sibling, and his family is from New Zealand. I'm not Australian!

He isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, and the people he meets certainly make digs at him to remind him of that. Except his brother, Jacob, whom he followed to the US. Jacob and Zane have a special bond. But Zane's clock is ticking because his visa runs out in one month, and he has to go back to New Zealand.

In a totally random encounter, he meets Becky (Beckett), through his sister-in-law.

"Beckett."
"You're a man."
His lips played on a smile. "You're an observational wizard."

Zane decides he likes Beckett, A LOT, and Beckett will be his new bestie. A bromance for the ages.

Beckett doesn't have a problem with this at all.

The humor and banter in this one was more subdued, but definitely there. Just muted. And, since Beckett is a literary professor, there were lots of literary word plays.

"It's a bar where we professors drink Pinot Noir and pontificate on the pleasures of punning."
"Um...."
"It's a pretentious penis party."

Zane has always identified as straight up til now, but makes comments about Beckett increasing his number on the "kingly scale".

Zane is clueless until he isn't. But he's still leaving...….

This one definitely brought the feelz, as I know Sunday will always deliver.

I loved almost everything about this story. Theo and Jamie will always be my favorite, but Zane and Beckett wove their way into my heart.

I truly need an epilogue. I need to know where these two go from here.

Fans of the series won't be disappointed!

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Indifferent*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

The book centers around comic drawer Zane Penn (23) and an associate professor Beckett ‘Becky’ Fisher (30). Zane is looking for love of a lifetime, marriage, and to get it before his visa ran out and he needs to go back to New Zealand. Needing a place to say for his last four week left in the country, he ends up living with Beckett. A man who doesn't believe in love at first sight, but has never laughed as much in his life as he's done with Zane and Zane's completely missing what's right in front of his can be more than a bromance. But time is running out.
“You’re not simple, Zane. You’re charming.”
“Really?”
A soft laugh. “Charming and ridiculously romantic.”
“We all need romance in our lives—know what? You and me? We’re gonna be two guy friends who are all about the romance.”
“Bromance?”
Zane clicked his fingers. “Exactly.”
Intelligent blue eyes met his, creased with curiosity, amusement, and detectable wariness. “Should I point out we’ve just met?”
“Hook ’em from the start, right?”

Overall, the story wasn't for me. I felt like Zane was adorable but his clueless was too much. He seems to be living in his own bubble. As for Beckett, he too was cute, but none of the boys took my heart. I didn't feel much for them nor the story. I felt rather indifferent. I need characters who are more possessive and demanding to be honest. And more seriousness and more things to happened. Then there was the insta-love. I hate insta-love. But the book was still cute and had me smiling here and there, it just wasn't enough for me to fully enjoy it. I have felt like this for each book in this series expect book one.
“My dying would make you mad?”
Beckett stepped up to him and clasped him around the neck. “I’m possessive. I don’t like it when others take my things away. I don’t like others even looking at my things the wrong way.”
Beckett’s clear, steady gaze made his toes curl with a flutter. “Am I your possession, Becky?”
A wavering moment, then Beckett steered them toward home. “Our bromance, yes. I’ll hold on to that, thanks.”

OTHER CHARACTERS:
Jacob, Zane's oldest brother. His wife, Anne. Their newborn baby Cassie Greenwood.
Natalie Fisher, Beckett's mother.
Luke, Anne’s brother and Beckett's ex-husband.
Darla, an elderly woman and neighbor to Beckett. Grandmother to Theo (main character in book one) and Leone.
Leah, Beckett's sister.
Harvey ‘Books for Breakfast’ Finnegan, a friend of Beckett.
“A deadline to fall in love and marry. If I’m not 100 percent head over heels, I will go back to New Zealand and stay back. But I’m just . . . determined to be head over heels.”

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (NA? Adult?) Contemporary Romance (M/M).
Series: - Series (Can Be Read As A Standalone), Book Four.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Beckett ‘Becky’ Fisher.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Yes.

I swear to god, there is such a magic to this series. 🥹

Every book is just full of incredibly loveable characters, delightful found family, the slow burn development of my dreams, adorable cluelessness and they always leave me feeling like I just received the biggest, warmest hug in book form.

And this one was no different.

Zane might be the most loveable MC I have ever met. My god, do I love that man and all his unpretentiousness, obliviousness, his himbo-ness (himbos are hard to write but here it’s done to perfection), his romantic heart, his big feelings and his unlimited charm. Becky is his perfect counterpart and I adored him deeply.

I was smiling and snorting and swooning from start to finish. Oh, how I needed this gem of Anyta Sunday goodness. What an absolute treat 🥹💖

What a lot of fun this was, again!
I highlighted a lot the first time round, but this time the book ended up almost looking like a colouring book with all the different highlights I added. (It's all those puns and language jokes!)

Heart-warming, inevitably smile-inducing and just perfect if you need a pick-me-up.
If you haven't read this, all I can tell you - you need those smiles and chuckles, I promise! 😉

No doubt, Beckett and Zane's book comes close to Theo and Jamie's, very very close, indeed! (but the latter two still clinch it and their short cameo towards the end was a sheer pleasure! <3)

Zane, the Pisces with the 'big heart and even bigger soul', in all his adorable and exasperating awkward- and 'cluelessness'!, does remind me a bit of Theo.... and of a smiling puppy bouncing up and down with optimism. No way, you can NOT love him!

And Beckett? The 'reliable, honest, compassionate and stubborn' Taurus? Omg, I just fell for this slightly nerdy and heartbroken English Professor who has a hard time not to fall for Zane. You can clearly see how much Beckett is taken with him, but there's no way he would ever act on it as long as Zane doesn't 'see' Beckett in that kind of light.

These two and all the UST and slow burn between them were near killing me! So good!

As much as I bounced up and down (together with Zane), often with utter hilarity, sometimes with aching sympathy, what's absolutely outstanding here, is the endless stream of linguistic cleverness.
Innuendos (not meant by Zane, but oh so chuckle-worthy), double meanings (of course totally unintended by Zane lol), alliterations and synonym competitions - let me tell you: I was in language heaven. (and I 've got 49 highlights to prove it!)

"Whatever Chiffon is."
It's a bar where we professors drink pinot noir and pontificate on the pleasures of punning."
"Um..."
"It's a pretentious penis party."

"What about your log?" ('he means 'log of a story') A startled blink. "I want it."

"We wanted to ride?"
"Lead the way. But I'm not experienced, be patient with me."

But, apart from that, there are so many incredible touching and tender moments:

"You have the biggest heart I know."
"Take as much of it as you like."

"Romance doesn't work like that. You don't fall in love and just keep falling. You fall, and when the ground catches you, you pull yourself together, climb back to the top of the cliff, and fall again. You do that over and over until you die. I'm not saying hitting the ground doesn't hurt. Not saying that it's an easy climb to the top. I’m saying that it's worth it to jump again."

Not to mention the cute quotes about love at the beginning of each chapter!

This ticked multiple boxes in my books and the 'language slant' made it just perfect for me! One I will definitely reread again and again!

Highly recommended.

2.57 stars ... This one just didn't click with me. After LOVIN' the first three in the series, this was dull and I did a great deal of skimming. I felt nothing for the professor, "Becky"/Beckett, and I never felt any chemistry between him and Zane. This was just flat and disappointing. 😒

ΟMG this book! I just feel…

If you ‘re looking for a coherent review look here or here. This review is just me fangirling all over the author and her story.

This is my absolute favorite addition in the Signs of Love series and I think my second favorite of Anyta Sunday after rock.

I wish teachers stopped correcting papers and homework with red pen. Because for people like Zane, bleeding red x marks describe his whole existence. In school, among family and friends, and in love. At first I thought I wasn’t going to like Zane very much, but I quickly found myself rooting for the underdog. So oblivious and naïve but such a funny and hopelessly romantic person.

We didn’t get Beckett’s POV but it didn’t matter for me. His feelings were in plain view. If only Zane saw earlier what we, as readers, did.

I loved the possessiveness and jealousy both MCs felt for each other even when they didn’t know where it came from. I loved the banter, the impossible situations Zane found himself in, the UST and the steamy bits (when they finally happened). And I definitely loved the ending.

In case I didn’t make myself clear, I loved this book.

Highly recommended!

***4.5 Stars***

"People can be complicated. We can also be ridiculously simple."

"You're not simple, Zane. You're charming."

"Really?"

"Charming and ridiculously romantic."

I don't know how Anyta Sunday does it, but she manages to make a totally naive and oblivious character absolutely charming and endearing. My dear, darling Zane and his "bromance" with Beckett should have frustrated me, but instead I just wanted to hug him. I sat at the edge of my seat waiting for his "a ha" moment.

This book was sweet and nerdy and fun and touching and hilarious and romantic and full of delicious word porn.

I loved how easily Zane and Beckett's relationship progressed. Their humor and affection and openness to showing each other their vulnerabilities was everything I love about reading romance.

I love how instantly protective Zane was of Beckett and how Beckett wouldn't let Zane get down on himself at the fact that he felt intellectually inferior to most people. He never missed an opportunity to lift Zane up and point out the fact that being book smart isn't the only way a person gets an education.

I love how romantic Zane is, and how Beckett doesn't make fun of him for it. I love how Beckett has plenty of that romance in him just waiting to come out.

Most of all, I love how Zane is a genuinely, down to the core good person with a soft, squishy heart and I really love that Beckett never took advantage of that...and wants nothing more than to take care of that heart and the man it belongs to.

You don't fall in love and just keep falling. You fall, and when the ground catches up, you pull yourself together, climb back to the top of the cliff, and fall again. You do that over and over until you die. I'm not saying hitting the ground doesn't hurt. Not saying that it's an easy climb to the top. I'm saying that it's worth it to jump again."

I thought the perfection of Leo loves Aries was just a fluke, until I got to this. This book. This book was absolutely perfect!
❤️❤️❤️

When the book starts, we meet Zane. And I have to say, I was rolling my eyes. He seems dumb, naive, and quite ridiculous. His visa is about to expire and he hopes to marry and stay in the US. An arranged marriage? Nope.

“Mark his words. By the end of the month, he would be happily married and making love in the twist of fresh sheets, his hard body intimately tormenting hers into spiraling arousal.”

Yes, hers. Because Zane is apparently straight. Enters Becky. Well, Beckett. The brilliant English professor. Who has a thing for big clueless jock types. Incredibly hot big clueless jock types.

They start a bromance. Zane’s words. Except that bromance soon starts to look a lot like a romance. Without the kisses, sex and I love yous.

But Zane has to leave at the end of the month. Which adds just the slightest touch of angst needed to tone down the sugary fluff. And keep you reading.

I’ll have to say the only thing that made me cringe was the repeated use of “the professor”. As a professor myself, it killed me a little. Leave academia out of the bedroom! 🤣

I adored both Zane and Beckett, and their perfect romance.

It’s a fluffy romance, with no angst and a mix of a slow burn and insta-love (does it make sense ? Not sure, LOL) between Zane, a hopeless romantic eager to find true love in less than a month, and Beckett, burned from his previous relationship.
Of course, expect two characters that are adorable each in their own way, some banter, some good secondary characters and a lovely HEA.

And now, before running to hide from all the fans of Anyta Sunday (does that mean I’m hiding from myself ?), I have to admit I couldn’t get into this romance. It didn’t ring true to me and I couldn’t figure out Zane.

One last thing before going AWOL : Theo and Jamie are definitely my favorite couple (**sigh**) and they make an appearance, yeah !!!

No-one writes these slow burn, witty, and dripping with clever wordplay romances better than Anyta Sunday.

I adored this book, it even beats Theo and Jamie's into first place in this excellent series for me too.

Every thing about it works. From the language, the humour, Zane's absolute lack of self awareness over just what his bromance with Beckett was really all about and Beckett himself, the Professor with a broken heart.

It's ridiculously funny, literary, sweet, heart warming, sexy and just a great feel good read and it also has guest appearance from book three's Wesley, as well as the aforementioned Theo and Jamie.

Loved it and loved the ending, which was rounded out by one of my favourite literary quotes of all time, which I'm not going to spoil here ;)

4.5★'s’s Rounded Up!

What can I say? I loved it. I mean I really loved it.

It might now be my favorite of the series. Maybe. I’d have to revisit Theo and Jamie to be sure but it’s a definite possibility that Zane and Beckett have swooped in and stole my heart. Although, Wesley and Lloyd seem to already be on my Favorites of 2018 Shelf ...Maybe I just need to do an entire re-read of the series...for science.

The initial meeting? Totally got me. I am just so happy. I’m smiling like a crazy person just thinking about the book. At first though, well, I was just so nervous. My initial reaction to how Zane was being written had me very worried. How was he going to fit in to this world? Was he going to be down on himself? Were people going to be mean? So much worry…over NOTHING! What a waste of energy. My imagination obviously got carried away and just reading the words took all the fear away. Zane is everything.

Beckett. My God. I would kill for his POV. Really, I’d kill. His looks and smiles said so much but I want to be in his head so fucking bad! Gah!

So, yeah. From the not so meet cute meeting to the very last page I was head over heels in love. This was one of the most beautiful love stories. I was never frustrated. I was never worried (after my initial worry of course) because you could just feel that it could not, would not, go wrong regardless of that stupid calendar on the wall.

If you don’t believe in true love, or even love at first sight, you will when you finish this book. And well, if you don’t, I will feel sad for you.

This was just perfect and I loved every second of it.

Anyta Sunday doesn't always work for me but the Signs of Love Series has pretty much consistently been a winner.

5 stars.

Friendship is the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words. —George Eliot

There is no one in this world who writes a slow burn romance quite like Anyta Sunday. They're some of my absolute favorite and this new edition to the Signs of Love Series was no different.

I loved the dynamics between Zane and Beckett. They were polar opposites with Zane wanting to find love in 4 weeks and Beckett being ever the cynical.

But the banter was all there. There were some parts in this story that reminded me so much of Theo and Jamie's book and mind you, their book was my favorite in this entire series. Yet this one was completely different and so unique and that was one of the reasons why I feel like I loved this book just as much as theirs.

“...Romance doesn’t work like that. You don’t fall in love and just keep falling. You fall, and when the ground catches up, you pull yourselves together, climb back to the top of the cliff, and fall again. You do that over and over until you die. I’m not saying hitting the ground doesn’t hurt. Not saying that it’s an easy climb to the top. I’m saying that it’s worth it to jump again.”

Initially I was skeptical of how Anyta would write this story. But I should have known better because she outdid herself and I was rooting for them and their HEA by the end.

THIS BOOK HAD ALL THE FEELINGS. ALL. OF. THEM.

By the end, I was left smiling and swooning and I wouldn't change it for the world. And what an adorable ending that was. I never want to let this series go. I want more please!

“You’re not simple, Zane. You’re charming.”

For a while I thought this is going to be a 4 star read. Then, the ending happened ❤️

I’ll readily admit that it took me a bit to fully enjoy the book. It’s the story of Zane, a highschool dropout, who’s a talented artist, drawing the illustrations for graphic novels. Zane is from New Zealand, and he’s determined to fall in love and marry a woman from the U.S. to be able to stay close to his favorite brother. Needing to find a new place to stay, he ends up sharing an apartment with Beckett, a young ish college professor. A gay and single college professor I might add.

It’s pretty obvious from the beginning that Beckett is more than platonically attracted to Zane from the start. And it’s been incredibly frustrating at times to have Zane being completely oblivious to said attraction, and that the attraction is mutual, but at one point I really started appreciating all the perfectly innocent innuendos their interactions consisted of. And I loved how cleverly reading (and watching) “Pride and Prejudice” was interwoven in the plot.

I fell in love with both Beckett and Zane, who - in a moment of insight - says:

”I might not be smart up here.” He tapped his forehead. “But I’m smart here.” He dropped his fingers to his chest. “ I will step on that stage because it’s the most uncomfortable place I want to be. I’ll stand in front of this crowd and likely make a joke of myself. I’ll show Beckett that there is nothing in this world I wouldn’t do for him.”

This unconditional, determined love - it was EVERYTHING. It made my heart melt and want to hug him. Ok maybe hug them both. But especially Zane.

And now excuse me when I’m resuming my day floating around with little hearts in my eyes 😍

Fun and funny and sweet All the mushy feelz for this slow burn OFY romance that had me alternating between laughing out loud and making "awww" sounds.

Is New Zealander Zane looking for a MOC (marriage of convenience)? No! He's looking for his HEA. It's just that he only has 30 days to find true love before his visa expires.

Professor Beckett Fisher doesn't believe in love anymore. Not since his HEA died a fiery death only two months after the wedding.

Can Zane convince him that love at first sight is real? Well, it might be easier if Zane wasn't straight and Beckett gay. Nevermind that, on the surface, they seem to belong to different worlds. But, what the heart wants, the heart wants. Obstacles are only there as challenges. Let the Bromance begin!

4.5 stars for this little gem!
