So... confession... I could not put this book down! I started it this morning and finished it this afternoon. I may or may not have forgotten to eat. I love it when a book can suck me in and make me forget about reality and life going on around me. Those are the best kinds of books! I have been dying to read Grace and Trent's story and it did not disappoint! I loved Grace's strength and willingness to do anything and everything she could to protect others around her. I also loved Trent's protectiveness of Grace. There were times he knew she needed to do things and he had faith in her and knew she could do it. They make a great couple... completely perfect for each other!
Another home run by Ms. Deel! I can't wait to read the next book!
As for my casting... *dreamy sigh* I am loving these two for Grace and Trent! What do you think?
Content: Mild violence. No swearing. Clean romance... just swoony kisses!
I can't seem to get enough of this book series! Romantic Suspense at its finest, there is a lot to love about Rebecca Deel's books.
I loved reading about Trent in this one. He is so tough and commanding in Rio and Darcy's story, so I couldn't wait to see his romance play out in this book. He is still a tough guy, but tender and sweet with Grace. She was also a fantastic heroine! I loved how kind and generous she was, but had some fire in her when it came to looking out for and protecting those she loves.
Another great Otter Creek book, and can't wait to continue!
Very good but I was disappointed in that one of the scenes was almost exactly the same as another book in the same series. Both times involved a kidnapping and being brought to a cabin and falling off a cliff that had a ledge that broke the fall. Disappointed that the author would use that same idea twice in the same series. Otherwise, the story was great.
I have enjoyed this entire series. It’s good, clean romance with a whole lot of suspense, action, strong male characters, and women who aren’t weak. The way her characters treat one another with respect, support each other, and accept people into their protective fold makes the entire series enjoyable. I knew right off the bat who was responsible in this particular story, but she has a way of weaving things in with the behind-the-scenes action and character development that you just can’t put it down until you’ve learned how everything unfolds. The characters have strong values and morals, and while some of the assistance is a *little* too convenient, it’s no more far fetched than half of the action-dramas in television. In fact, each of these novels in the series feels like a movie as they play out. There’s enough left to the imagination for readers to fill in their own images, but enough description that you’re right there with the characters in the middle of everything.
Good story but several irritating points common to earlier books
1. Why do all the men call all the women SUGAR? Very sexist. 2. Surely some people drink at least some alcohol? Very unrealistic every character being teetotal and virginal, too! 3. Why are they a!l so perfect and good looking? How can normal readers relate?
I would really love to read a 'real' story by this author as she has great story lines.
I liked that Grace is a strong woman and is more than happy to rescue herself. The story was action packed and suspenseful to a degree but it didn't really capture me. I just felt that something was missing. I wasn't shocked by the 'twist', I figured it out straight away.
I did have a couple of issues with the storyline - forgive me but I struggled to believe that Trent and Grace had been dating for a year and haven't slept together; that in the whole year they've been dating they've never told each other how much they care about the other; and that Trent the supposed very protective big bad Navy SEAL has never given Grace any self-defence training in that time. And then there are the editorial mistakes- the use of extra words, wrong words, misspellings etc. All made for a bit of a frustrating read.
Like a kick ass strong woman (no damils in distress here), kidnap, murder, rescue all wrapped up with two romances!
Nurse Grace has tended to this operative before and took a gamble to bring him home. Trent surviving a bad mission his sister in danger is just returning to the States from anther mission. Action packed but you gotta love Grace she doesn't crumble like a wilted flower. She a perfect girlfriend/wife material for special ops soldier. Violence2, sex0 clean contemporary romance.

Rebecca Deel has created a beautiful series of books, each story complete but with overlapping characters you will wish were your neighbors and friends. This romantic suspense will have you worried about them, crying happy tears, laughing, and trying to solve the mystery. This one finds nurse Grace and Trent deeply involved in a multiple murder that could end with their own deaths of time in prison.
Trent and Grace are awesome! Not wanting to give away plot lines but anyone who has read Otter Creek or wants to start a new series this would be a great book to start with. Mason has a wonderful appearance in this book which makes me love him all the more! Bravo Rebecca! I loved it!
Another great story .If you injoy suspense and strong alpha military men and their strong women this is one of those book Highly recommend great clean romance .Don't pass this one up.
Finally Trent`s story. And it was a good as I had hoped. Others from Durango and Fortress are there as well. Lots of action with plenty of suspects & a great plot. Loved this one as much as the others.
I love this series and was thrilled to finally get Trent and Grace's story! Their romance was perfection and kept me glued to the story. I also loved the bonus romance of Nicole and Mason! I also loved catching up with other Otter Creek residents! I just can't get enough of my favorite couples (Alex and Ivy, Ethan and Serena, etc.) and would love more than these quick glimpses, but I'll take what I can get.
While I did love the romance, I did have two minor gripes with the story. First, I will say that the villain's identity was pretty obvious, which was a little disappointing. Also, it drove me completely insane how the author kept referring to Mason as "the construction worker."
Overall, another great addition to the series! I can't wait for more!
I love this series and this book. The characters are strong, loyal, and smart. The action in the story keeps the pages turning. I love the way the story is woven and also that the romance is clean. Very entertaining and enjoyable!
Great book! It is a great addition to the Otter Creek family and I look forward to the next one. I will always purchase the books by this author as they are a great mix of action, romance and suspense.
