Blood Rose by P.T. Michelle is book 8 in the "In the Shadows" series. This is the continuing story of Calder and Cass. This can be a standalone book but Cass and Calder did meet in previous books (They are GOLD SHIMMER and STEEL RUSH) This book picks up with Cass and Calder looking to get married. Calder is stressed and dealing with his new found family –family he doesn’t want to talk to, look at or have anything to do with. He is really overwhelmed with everything hitting him at once on the estranged family side, especially since he doesn’t want to know them due to what his/their father did. Then Cass is dealing with some issues of her own. Add in the issues, angst, tension, past doubts and the past…you have one rockin romance. Cass and Calder show what working thru their relationship problems look like. We also get to see alittle of Talia and Sebastian in this book too. There are some secrets and twists that keep this book jumping. This was a wild ride. Blood Rose was everything you could ask for in a romantic suspense read. You will laugh, you will cry, you will be on the edge of your seat, you will swoon. Ms. Michelle wrote a beautiful story that has the ability to take you places all in the space of one book. I am looking for the next book in this series.

My Rating: 4.8 stars *****

You guys - I had to wait to write this review, because Patrice gutted me and put me back together with Blood Rose. I have a couple of things that if I know that they're included in a book, I tend to shy away, however, I didn't ask her about any of these things and I dove in as fast as it hit my kindle. I'm so glad that I didn't shy away because this it's perfect - just perfect.

I don't think I could ever choose between Sebastian and Talia or Cass and Calder as my favorites but I will say my favorite is when I'm reading the characters story - which means, today Cass and Calder are my favorites.

As with any good suspense/mystery, PT Michelle has included a couple of things that I didn't see coming. And those are the best. They keep me turning the pages as fast as I can to figure out all the things, however, at the same time, I don't want the story to end.

It feels like both Cass and Calder will never be free of their past and as such it keeps coming back to haunt them. Blood Rose picks up where Steel Rush ends and though you don't have to read Gold Shimmer or Steel Rush, it will make your reading experience so much better.

The feels - OH.THE.FEELS! My emotions were all over the place with Blood Rose - so much that I sent PT Michelle a note when I finished. I mean - laughs, sobs, heart flutters and more. All in one book you guys.

Both the romance and the suspense compliment each other where one doesn't overshadow or overpower the other, just like Cass and Calder.

I'm giving it about a 4 stars but it was about 3.5 stars, so author can keep her good ratings. I really loved In the Shadows series Talia & Sebastian love story its one of my go to's when I need to reread and I'm in between books, Calder & Cass story is also good and I love Talia & Cass was best friends and they feel in love with cousins/brothers, I read book over night cause I am in love "In the Shadows series" and all the characters. You never want it to end. It is worth reading especially the entire series from the beginning.

Blood Rose by P.T. Michelle is book 8 in the "In the Shadows" series. This is the story of Calder and Cass. This can be a standalone book but Cass and Calder did meet in previous books (I think they are GOLD SHIMMER and STEEL RUSH) that I haven't yet read.
This book picks up with Cass and Calder looking to be married. Calder is still dealing with his new found family that he doesn't want anything to do with since what their father (his father too) did to his mother. Between personal issues, doubts and fighting the past bumps in the road are happening through their relationship but they are heading towards their happy ending.
Really enjoyed this book and now really want to go back and read the previous ones!

I'm so glad to be returning to the In the Shadows world. What is great about finding an excellent set of stories is being able to pick up where we left our favourite characters and see what awaits them. Even though it isn't necessary to read Talia and Sebastian's story to enjoy this one, I would recommend it. It will enhance the experience and introduce you to another brilliant couple.

While the story is centred on the love between Cass and Calder, other elements like suspense, drama, and action provide and richer and more compelling tale which grips you from the first page and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Rather than speaking about the story and accidentally spoiling it for you, I'll focus on my feelings while reading it. Almost immediately, I was filled with questions, who is this mystery person, why are they writing, what do they want???

And then my heart began to swoon when alpha males came into the picture. And swiftly became frustrated by certain characters and their lack of communication before getting hot under the collar. Very hot... blushing from the action. All too soon, I wanted to bash heads together before feeling apprehensive with the shadows lurking and the secrets some were keeping. And then my heart was in my throat before wanting to go on a rampage because of one character's actions. After a few deep breaths, I managed to regroup and swoon because who doesn't love alpha males and their ways? Events then blew my mind before I nearly dissolved into tears... it was a wild ride. Blood Rose was everything you could possibly want in a good story and more. And I just realised the significance of the title! I love when that happens. It's a sign of a talented author who can weave the title of the book into the story to provide a deeper meaning. By reading the story, you have an enjoyable time escaping reality and also, your mind is tested and expanded by figuring out the significance of all the intricate details.

Could not put them down

Ok I got the first book free for my kindle omg what a find , I am a quick reader but find if the book does not catch my interest by the first chapter its history, these books caught me straight away absolutely hats off to P.T.Michelle you got me straight off, so much that I could not purchase the rest in the series.
I was captivated by the whole journey with all of the characters their twists and turns, even how celeste knew what she had to do to get what she wanted in the end the tales to stay alive and planning fantastic writing. I love how all the characters are integrated into each book and that you travel their journey with them. The endings in each book leave questions about what's next but answer the questions in their story. Yes I finished all 8 books in 8 days and now find out I have to wait for 8 days for the next book to be released 😢 I just hope that this book answers questions I have about Beth as it is a stand alone about mina and dan, if it doesn't I sincerely hope that I don't have to wait ages for these answers as I'm a little impatient 😂,this is one of the reasons if I find a good book it has to be either a full series or a full stand alone book. I hope anyone who is thinking about reading this series will enjoy them as much as I did.
The characters are so well written that they are believable and relatable, the stories are well written and composed you really do enjoy the journey.
I hope you enjoy this series I'm starting one of her other series just to get me through the next 8 day's.

While Blood Rose is sort of a continuation of Cass and Calder’s story, it can be read as a stand-alone (although I personally recommend you read Gold Shimmer and Steel Rush before starting this).

I’ve fallen in love with all the characters in the series over the years I’ve been reading it and I didn’t realise how much I’d missed the characters. Things seem to have settled down a little for Cass and Calder but that doesn’t mean the peace is going tot last long. With Cass meant to be setting a date for a wedding and Calder trying to work through his feelings regarding his new family, there’s some bumps for the two of them to get over. Can they work it out? Throw in a face from the past that could possibly put one of them in danger and it’s anyone’s guess what’s going to happen.

I thoroughly enjoyed Blood Rose and can’t wait for more from the In The Shadows series.

Calder & Cass

Well, the story continues. Stalker, I think. Weird text messages. Calder wants a date set for the wedding! Cass is trying to figure out how to get back into photographing models again, but staying in NYC, she just can't travel like she used to! Calder would Not be happy! LMAO All that stress & he's freaking out that she wants to back out of the marriage, & Cass has so many other thoughts going on that setting a wedding date is just not the priority.

I've really enjoyed reading this Series! Nothing makes me happier than having a storyline that continues & grows the characters!! I read one from another Author that had23 books & the characters just grew & grew! Yeah I'm really enjoying this Series! I like a little more BDSM, but the dominant men are wonderful in their own ways.

Enjoy!!

Blood Rose by P.T. Michelle is the eighth book in her In The Shadows series. A standalone story within the series that CAN be read as a standalone but would be better enjoyed if you had read the series to this point. Told in dual POV this is another story in the lives of Cass and Calder. Emotional, intriguing, and very sexy this was a fabulous read.

Calder is desperate for Cass to set a date and marry him. Cass is determined to find her own place in Calder's world, one where she can feel like she has her own value and knows she can provide him with the family that he so desperately craves. The problem with these two is the lack of communication. Calder is the type of personality that wants to protect and care for but Cass is the type where she wants to do things for herself. They have to learn to compromise their personalities, talk openly with each other, and also dodge the threats on their lives while they're at it.

Well-written and well-paced I have enjoyed previous books from this author and this one was no different. Enjoy!

I love this series. I'm attached to all of the characters and love reading about them. And I thoroughly enjoy the ride I'm taken on plot-wise with all of these books. PT Michelle always twists when I expect her to turn and I never know what to expect, other than having all the extreme emotions pulled from me. Cass is a heroine that I can't relate to at all. I wouldn't do most of the things she does or make the choices she makes, but she is consistent in how she acts and I love reading about her adventures. Calder is amazing. I love the byplay between he & Cass. I love the relationship he has with Bash. I just love this series!

The Blake's will become a part of your life

In this story the light is taken off Sebastian and Talia and back on Calder and Cass. The book has so many twists and turns that you can't put it down but you wouldn't anyway because the Blake's have you so wrapped up in their lives you want to know everything that happens. You'll feel that you're a part of their lives, you'll love all the characters with their strengths and their faults and you'll never get enough of the stories of their lives. Michelle has created a wonderful series that when you get to the end you're so craving another story to follow. The only disappointment is having to wait for the next release.

Now that I have finished reading Blood Rose, I think that I should have re-read Gold Shimmer and Steel Rush beforehand... to reacquaint myself with the characters and the story lines. I have loved the In the Shadows series and as I came to it late, so was able to download several books at a time to continue reading.... with this one, there was a long interval, so I lost the thread. Never mind, I have given it 4* as its written well and theres lots of twist and turns, fast moving too.

I do recommend though that any one who wants to read this novel, first read Gold Shimmer and Steel Rush to get you into the swing of Calder and Cass's story.

Calder and Cass' story continues

Full of action, this story will pull you through some major turning points for these two main characters. Cass has some major hangups and has difficulty talking about them to anyone, including her best friend. Calder just wants his forever with Cass but his brutish tendencies make it hard to convey, much less be patient about it. Mixed into all of this angst are the secrets they're keeping from each other, and their friends and coworkers. It's an exciting story and brings closure to some things while opening up avenues for more adventures. Good story, great adherence to the established plot, and satisfying (albeit a little sad) ending.
I hope to see more for this couple on their own journey in future books.

Love and trust conquers all!

Just love how this book finishes the Calder and Cass Story from Gold Shimmer and Steel Rush. This story doesn't disappoint when a character returns and the Cass and Calder's wedding is on the line of adventure.
Love the action and suspense P.T. brings to the book. Secret texts, trying to save her carrier, secrets and more hints about how their lives are going to change with the best wedding and surprises ever... All of it had me on edge and awake all night and so glad to find the HEA... Can't wait to read Mina's story.
Thank you P. T.

Blood Rose

The intensity with this group, Black Security. Cass has things in her past that seem to keep popping up, trying to create problems, danger. Calder, has his own issues, Throwing doubt on their relationship, he and Cass are dealing with their own issues. This story will open your eyes, hearts, make you realize not everyone is out to help you, but to do harm, create trouble. Awesome, amazing story❤️.

I loved Blood Rose!!! There was definitely some surprises that I did not see coming. Once again Cass gets herself involved in some crazy situations and it takes everyone in their group to help get her out of it. Calder is a broken soul who needs Cass more than he realizes. Cass realizes that she needs Calder just as much. The ending was pure perfection and I can't wait to see what else happens with this couple and their friends.

Yet another awesome book in this series. Calder kinda annoyed me in the first part of the book, he was a bit too moody and yelled to much

I really liked the conversation they had about babies 2/3's of the way into the story, it was much needed and hit close to home for me.

I liked the end and Calder's new bond with his brother.

I hope this is not the last, but if it is, I'd be ok with that because of the way it ended.

Amazing 😉

I loved every minute of this book. One thing that I have to say I truly enjoy and love about a P.T. Michelle book is the mystery and intrigue in the storyline. I love puzzles, so trying to figure out who the culprit is and why they are taunting the heroine is exciting for me. Her books aren’t just about love stories, they have some depth and substance to them. Another great book Ms. Michelle. I look forward to reading “Noble Brit”.👍🏾❤️

I chose this rating due to the fact that the author keeps you on your toes and on the edge of your seat. I have read this serious several times and I love it. From start to finish it’s a ten!!!!! I’ve loved Calder and Cass’s story from the beginning. There’s some really hairy moments and lots of sexy moments. Overall I loved it and hated that it was over too soon. But luckily for us, there’s more to come with Mina and Den’s story. I hope 🤞 there will be a book about Beth, Ben and more of the others. Exceptional read.

Outstanding!!

Case and Calder's story truly had an amazing ending. Blood Rose is another outstanding book by P.T. Michelle. If you haven't read this book please give it a read, you'll not be disappointed. If you're going to read this book , please start with Gold Shimmer first, then Steel Rush.

Love this series! This picks up with Cass and Calder, but we get glimpses of the rest of the Blake family. Cass is still getting messages from Celeste who almost gets her killed again. Celeste is very sick, but I think wants the best for Rose. She’s just crazy. This ends with Cass and Calder’s wedding, and a very special member of their family there. I can’t wait for more glimpses of them!

Blood Rose...

In The Shadows series book 8. Super Fanfreakingtastic read. This is the third book for Calder and Cass. Intense drama. Plenty of intrigue and action. Hella sexy to the 10th power of tingle worthiness. No spoilers from me. But the music in the book and the awesome dialogue plus freaky twists and turns will take you there every second of every moment.

Calder and Cass

Finally the happily ever after they deserve, with a few road bumps along the way. Calder is all you could dream of in a partner, masterful, caring and tough, whereas Cass is independent but learns that it's ok to depend on somebody else, especially family. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

I just finished the audio book of Blood Rose. This novel is amazing on audio. Not only do the two narrators do a fantastic job, but the tension and action of the book lend themselves to the audio format. I found myself following staging and dialogue even better in audio than I did when I read it. Absolutely fantastic!

Do it...

Just break down and read them ALL, you won’t regret it. I’ve loved this series from book one and have reread them. Each time I discover a new reason I love them. This book is excellent and a great way to continue the story of Cass and Calder. It can be read on its own, but it SO much better when you know the back story and all the other characters past stories as well.

Once again P.T Michelle brings all the feels with Blood Rose.
While Cass and Calder try to start their life together, past and present demons do their best to derail their happily ever after.
I love that we get to see the other characters from the other books in the series and catch up with their lives.
I LOVE how passionate their connection is throughout the entire story.
