Hi, I’m Lizzie and I like writing about the ‘moment’ when the hero and the heroine fall in love. That, and trying to track down the all-elusive hero-in-a-kilt, is what gets me in front of the computer each morning. Since 2012 I’ve published eight novels: Tall, Dark and Kilted, Boot Camp Bride, Scotch on the Rocks, Girl in the Castle, Take Me, I’m Yours and Harper’s Highland Fling, Dark Highland Skies and Winter Star in the Scottish Highlands. I'm curently writing #9 for [publication in 2026.
I organise the Leicester Chapter of the Romantic Novelists’ Association and present workshops on indie publishing to new writers. My feel good/uplit novels would happliy sit alongside Donna Ashcroft, Rachel Lucas and Ellie Henderson on your bookshelf.

I love writing because it gives me the chance to celebrate everything I love about my homeland - Scotland, and an opportunity to share those feelings with my readers. When not writing, I spend summer touring Scotland in our caravan researching my next novel and avoiding the midges.

Lovely! Small Town! Romance!

This is my first book from Lizzie Lamb and I am now a huge fan!!! I was thoroughly engrossed in small town Wisconsin life, from first page to last... and I have been to small town Wisconsin! Not sure if it was where this town is but my grandparents when they came over from Norway settled in Wisconsin and had a family farm there, the farm is now under water, but....

This story was a romance with a Hatfield and McCoy twist... India wants to convert her great aunt’s home into a proper English bed and breakfast... BUT that’s not going to happen if Logan has anything to do about it, he is determined to win his family’s home back so his grandfather can spend his final days there.... India and Logan were very well ddrawn characters that popped off the Pages, I felt as though I was living every moment with these two.... both these characters had a troubled past, add in the family feud that spanned decades and you have a whole lot of obstacles and drama.... loved the history between these families and how it somewhat mirrored the present day....

This was very much a will they won’t they story, with a lot of push and pull... The spark and Snark between India and Logan was wonderful... such a beautifully told story filled with so much emotion and heart... The wit and humor in this book was a perfect balance to the emotion... A flawless book for those who love the love and fantastic characters! Can’t wait to read another book from Lizzie although next time I’d like it to take place in Scotland!

4☆ A Heartwarming Contemporary Romance

Take Me, I’m Yours is a charming Contemporary Romance with enchanting warm characters.

India and Logan's families both want the same thing.
India wants to use her Aunts house and make it into a charming bed and breakfast.
Logan also wants the house, but for a different reason. He wants the house for his Grandfather. You see the house is part of an on going feud between families and neither is about to give in.

But who will win in love and war??
India and Logan have a sizzling sexual chemistry. Logan is hot stuff but will the two sizzle or Will the feud prove too much!

I love reading stories that keep you on your toes and India and Logan's relationship does exactly that.
The family feud just added an extra special touch, there was plenty of history and drama to keep me turning the pages.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this feel good story. It had a touch of mystery, plenty of sizzling chemistry, family drama, feuds, relationships and a good dash of humour.

If you enjoy Heartwarming Contemporary Romance reads with enchanting warm characters, humour, Drama and passion then you will adore Take Me, I'm Yours.

Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

So good! India Buchanan lives in Wisconsin in her great aunt's house. A house steeped in history that has been in the family for years - but its ownership is something of a family mystery. Speaking of mysteries - who is this hunky male specimen riding his steel horse up the drive? He announcing he is going to take the house back from India's family - with every good looking step he took. Oh, it's Logan MacFarlane, lawyer, womaniser, antagonist - or is he? Lizzie Lamb takes her readers on an exciting will they won't they? Oh, it helps that Great Aunt and Grandfather also have history. A beautiful, luxurious setting I was right there in one of the old, American houses. Great ending.

I’m guessing that the first surprise for anyone who’s read Lizzie Lamb’s books before will be the book’s setting – but worry not, I did spot a piper, a few strategically placed tartan cushions and a smidgeon of Scots ancestry. There’s a perfect sense of place about this book, the Wisconsin setting brought to life with some wonderfully vivid descriptions – the Buchanan property, the dilapidated lighthouse, the landing – and a real feel for the small town community where everyone is more involved in everyone else’s business than their own.

From the moment that Logan MacFarlane roars into view on his vintage Triumph motorcycle and India Buchanan grabs her monkey wrench to defend herself for their first skirmish, I knew I was going to love this book. They’re both complex characters, exceptionally well-drawn – tremendously likeable, neither quite what they appear, with difficult personal histories and a few lifetimes of family history to overcome. The book builds into a strong and believable love story, but things certainly don’t go smoothly – and I thoroughly enjoyed every twist and turn of the story, and the family history that so complicates the way it moves forward.

I have to say that Logan had me from the moment he removed his Raybans and hung them over the Triumph’s handlebars – but I did rather like it when he peeled off his leathers. He’s pretty hot in his more usual sharply cut suit too, and the temperature certainly rises when he takes that off. He has that slightly aggressive edge but also a real vulnerability and capacity for tenderness – goodness, that’s my kind of man! There’s a tremendous warmth to the whole story – not too hot, just enough to make your heart beat a little faster and bring a flush to your cheeks – and the more I got to know both Logan and India, the obstacles to their getting together steadily mounting with the weight of history and a few hidden secrets, the more I wanted there to be an unlikely happy ending. And although the story is largely a double-hander, the supporting cast is excellent too – the MacFarlane grandfather with his battles with his nurse and passion for old movies, the larger than life Great Aunt Elspeth, India’s supportive and lovely friend Lotte.

The author has a particularly special touch with dialogue – the exchanges between India and Logan sparkle and fizz, but I also loved Logan’s relationship with his grandfather (beautifully drawn, with real love and affection) and lndia’s with her great aunt. Her set pieces are excellent too – one near the book’s start that really sets the scene for the story and what’s to come, another near the book’s end that had my heart in my mouth and was just wonderfully described. The story is essentially a classic “will they, won’t they” – but I really enjoyed the degrees of complication, and the history, both personal and family, gave it real depth. And that depth also came from the strength of the characters and the emotional content – real people, real feelings, beautifully handled.

Anyone who’s enjoyed Lizzie Lamb’s other books will love this one as much as I did – and if you’ve never read one of her books before, I’d so recommend you give this one a try.

I really enjoyed reading this latest offering from Lizzie Lamb. OK, it's not set in Scotland but there are enough Scottish hints to keep me happy. The setting of MacFarlane's Landing sounds idyllic and the rivalry set around the ownership of the landing makes for a great story with the right amount of tension. As usual Lizzie's characters leapt off the page and I felt as if I knew them; loved some and despaired of others. A very satisfying read.

Lizzie Lamb definitely knows how to write an enemies-to-lovers romance. Her heroes are arrogant and smug, and her heroines are strong and spirited. What better combo for a good old-fashioned battle of wills?

It’s a family feud made from a gentlemen’s agreement gone wrong. The outsider and the homeboy. A match made in He…, well, you know. It’s a Mexican standoff. An impasse. An unspoken acknowledgment that, though they might be adversaries, they are also sexually attracted to each other. The poor little rich kids will both get their comeuppance.

The cool, calm India Buchanan is fast becoming an emotional wreck. Logan MacFarlane is pushing her to the limits of patience and endurance. From the moment she first met him, he always ends up with the final word and the last laugh. He is threatening to take her family home because it’s all the MacFarlanes have ever wanted and now that her Great Aunt Elspeth is ill, the vultures are circling. However, India has felt MacFarlane’s other side. The charming and kind side. The side she is falling in love with. But the house is the only place where she feels she belongs and her plan to make it a bed and breakfast will end whatever relationship she has with MacFarlane. She will have to make a choice. Her business or him.

Logan has never met such an infuriating and pigheaded woman. His grandfather warned him that the Buchanan women were ornery and he’s learning first hand. He’s never had a problem charming the ladies, but she brings out the beast in him. He’s never been turned down before. She’s different. He’s an aspiring District Attorney. He can legally take her home that belongs to his family. It’s about his promise to his grandfather and his duty as a MacFarlane. But things change and it becomes more about his feelings for India than his duty to his family name until she lied to him.

The love/hate relationship between India and Logan is volatile and very hot. They can’t deny the attraction they have despite their fight over a property that has caused havoc in their families for decades. Trust is an issue for both of them due to their upbringings. India has learned to be independent and self-reliant by realizing she couldn’t get everything she wanted–notably, love and affection from her parents. Logan has done his duty for his family. He has become a powerful lawyer like his grandfather and father before him, but at the expense of his love for painting. Raised by bitter, selfish parents, he has stayed away from commitment. Watching India and Logan fight tooth and nail as they open their hearts to each other is captivating and heartbreaking. The picnic basket auction is a hilarious show of marking their territories, and India waking up in Logan’s guestroom is steamy. They’re two stubborn people who jump to conclusions and make stupid mistakes, but it’s worth the pain to see them finally admit their feelings for each other.

The lovely supporting characters of Logan’s grandfather, John MacFarlane, and India’s Great Aunt Elspeth are a big part of the plot concerning the ongoing feud and are essential to getting Logan and India to open their eyes and not make the mistakes they made.

I highly recommend this beautifully told story filled with so much emotion and compassion. The characters are headstrong, passionate, and generous. And the venue in Door County, Wisconsin, is gorgeous.

Thank you to Ms. Lamb for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

This is the first book of Lizzie Lamb that I have read. Although after seeing the cover I got the feeling I was picking up a old fashion book that you would see when you would get your newspaper (at least new I was a kid I remember covers like that), but still, that unusual aspect didn't persuade me to turn around. I went and read the blurb. After reading it as was intrigued.

It was an amazingly written story with a Romeo and Juliet touch, with the "war" between the two families... Well, between India's great-aunt and Logan's grandfather. And behind all that there is a motive. So the book follows India Buchanan and Logan MacFarlane the new generation that was pushed into this families feud.

From the very first page I was hooked. I wanted to know how could two families be at war, and why... plus, I wanted to know how would India and Logan turn things around. I knew they would change things, it's a romance book after all, but we never know what an author can bring us in a story, or when the characters will start to change and develop.

This book gave us those turns, gave us twist... It invited us to reading more pages with the prospect of knowing more about the feud, or about India and Logan's feelings. It made us jump into the story because of the description that made us feel like we are a part of the plot and living in the place and being a part of the community.

The relationships between all the characters made me laugh, sigh and get my adrenaline pumping. I love that there was emotional moments, funny ones too and definitely all the obstacles in the way. The all gave the book a good platform for all the events that were happening as they plot went. It was a good balance and made the history have a different strength and meaning to the events in the present.

What's not to like? Flawless entertainment, two wise-cracking antagonists in the tradition of a Hollywood movie, India Buchanan, escapee from a New York Art Auction House, and Logan MacFarlane, Chicago lawyer destined for greatness in Washington DC, their hostility rooted in their families' rival claims to ownership of MacFarlane's Landing currently occupied by the Buchanans.
The isolated location in rural Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan through summer into autumn and on to winter's end, the local traditions - the picnic hamper auction and dance, Thanksgiving, cross-country ski race - a cast of believable minor characters are as enthralling as the shenanigans of the India-Logan duo, as are those of Aunt Elspeth (Buchanan) and Judge John MacFarlane, Logan's Gramps. The unravelling intrigue of the older generation, glimpses of India's and Logan's less than ideal childhood kept this reader turning the page.

Why has Elspeth never married? Will India and Logan's stormy relationship come good? Be amused, beguiled, captivated.

Well what can I say? Lizzie's done it again. Ladies take note - Logan MacFarlane is yet another incredibly hot hero. India Buchanan is just the sort of woman needed to challenge him and from their first meeting the chemistry is buzzing. In fact it was difficult to dislike Logan once you got to know him even though at first he seemed to be a total thorn in India’s flesh.
On this occasion we’re not the Scottish Highlands but on the shores of Lake Michigan and I have to say the backdrop is just as atmospheric. Both India and Logan have formed strong family bonds - he with grandfather John and she with great aunt Elspeth – both having had parents who put their personal needs before their own children . John and Elspeth, now elderly and with health problems, have a secret history which no one knows about, providing an interesting sub plot which weaves nicely into the main story. All of this is wrapped up in a family feud over MacFarlane’s Landing, the house India currently lives in and hopes to turn into a classy Bed and Breakfast.
It’s an addictive story with a fabulous cast of characters – a strong heroine and a mouth-watering hero. All in all a classy five star read.

Take all of Lizzie Lamb's trademark features: a (borderline) sassy heroine, who can stand on her own two feet (and boy, doesn't she like to prove it), but deep inside believes in love and romance; a tall, dark, albeit not kilted this time, hero with a heart of gold and a bad reputation; a set of 'minor' characters that are so beautifully drawn to become a second set of major characters of their own. Transport them in the beautiful surroundings of Door County, Wisconsin and be ready for 19 chapters of pure escapism where witty, ironic dialogues mix skilfully with top romance.
I fell in love with Scotland reading Lizzie's books, and now with Wisconsin, too!
Fabulous.

A long standing family feud between the Buchanans and the MacFarlanes is threatening to destroy India Buchanan’s plans to restore her great aunt’s house to it’s former glory and run a tasteful guest house. The house on MacFarlane’s Landing has been a bone of contention between the families since the MacFarlanes lost it to the Buchanans on the turn of a card. Logan MacFarlane wants the house back for his grandfather, India has no intention of selling. She has plans for the house and is hoping her great aunt will be home from hospital very soon. India had promised to help look after Elspeth as well as bring her ideas to fruition.

In a delightful opening sequence, Logan roars up to the house on his Triumph motorbike, all dangerous male, and India, not knowing who he is and aware of the isolation of her house, picks up a monkey wrench to defend herself. This is just the first of many clashes. They both have the best interests of their respective relatives at heart and as their encounters become ever more heated, there’s a spark of something neither wants to admit to.

'Logan imagined standing once more in front of the Buchanan residence which had one of Door County’s famous lighthouses built almost in its back yard, towering over it. With its wrap around veranda and views overlooking MacFarlane’s Landing and the Bay it was prime real estate.'

It’s descriptions like this that bring to mind vivid imagery and the atmosphere of the beautiful setting, a calming backdrop to the tension surrounding the dispute over ownership of the house and land. Logan and India are both fiery characters with surprisingly similar upbringings. They have strong family ties and the relationships with their relatives are lovely. Logan is quite aggressive initially and not at all the type of man India is used to. As his character is explored in more detail and he shows his caring and vulnerable side he’s much easier to fall for. India is independent and determined, having been shipped off to school as her parents moved from one diplomatic post to another. Her mother has her own idea of how India’s life should unfold, and it isn’t running a glorified B&B. But India is committed to her plans.

The characters, including the secondary ones, are wonderfully drawn and there’s lots of snappy, entertaining dialogue. The history between the families is intriguing and not what I imagined. It shows how a dispute can escalate and impact on future generations. As the barriers begin to seem insurmountable….will they find a way? You’ll have to read it to find out!

I chose to read and review Take Me, I’m Yours based on a copy of the book supplied by Rachel’s Random Resources and the author.

‘Cool, assured India Jane Buchanan’ meets ‘a man used to having his own way.’ Logan Macfarlane looks at her ‘with such calculation’ but can he charm this lady from the Buchanan clan? ‘What ever India Jane Buchanan set her mind to she usually achieved.’ As the ‘ancient grudge breaks to new mutiny’; get ready for a firework display in Wisconsin. Like Cathy, in Wuthering Heights she discovers something ‘wild and untamed’ about Logan. This is a modern take on the star-crossed lovers meets Jane Austen, Bronte and sassy Jilly Cooper. This book is best served with ice to cool down the ‘pyrotechnics’ between the feisty characters.

Like the Capulets and Montagues, there is a family feud between the Macfarlanes and Buchanans but be prepared for the independent spirit and opportunity seeking characters. The historical context of the feud adds depth to the narrative. I adore the way in which relationships from different generations are presented. I believe our character traits are inherited and run through the generations. The ‘couple of rogues’ who were India and Logan’s ancestors gave them the fighting spirit and the privilege.

Lamb cleverly establishes the sexual tension. This is a book with a strong female and male heroine and I loved it. The dialogue is sheer brilliance. I am in awe of Lizzie’s ability to bring the characters to life while carrying the reader into the heart of the conflict. This is clever writing! Throughout this lively, controlled and confident style, I can sense the author luxuriating in the narrative, setting and characters. How wonderful to escape to a condominium and boutique B&B with such sparky characters.

As I speeded along with the narrative, I laughed throughout. Only a seasoned comedy writer can deliver a smart comedy with such finesse. For instance, at a time when India does almost succumb she explains that ‘she was swooning in the sun like some Jane Austen heroine. Glancing down, she was relieved to see her bosom wasn’t heaving in the prescribed manner.’ Hilarious modern take on this.

Besides the humour and fast-past exchanges, there are also tender moments between the characters. Although wealthy, both characters have suffered from emotional deficits from their parents and this is explored. Lamb explores the background of her characters and I enjoyed getting to know them. Presentation of both characters’ perspectives enhances the texture of the novel. Wisdom from the older characters also presents a spotlight on love and experience. Logan’s grandfather says, ‘Procrastination is the thief of time’, and the fast pace of the novel explores this.

This is a thoroughly modern romance populated with independent, strong characters. Logan has got ‘chutzpah’ but has been warned about Buchanan women. So – call the fire brigade! Reading Lizzie Lamb’s novel is akin to battling with a stubborn, smouldering fire. But, oh- the sparks, the danger and the thrill. Well done, Lizzie Lamb!

A Captivating Tale of Love, Family, and Redemption

"Take Me, I'm Yours" is a heartwarming and engaging novel that explores the complexities of family dynamics, love, and redemption. Set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Michigan, the story follows India Buchanan as she endeavors to establish a bed and breakfast in her great-aunt's home, MacFarlane Landing.

The author masterfully weaves a narrative that is both atmospheric and character-driven, with vivid descriptions of the Wisconsin setting and a strong sense of small-town community. The characters are well-developed and relatable, with India and Logan's tumultuous relationship at the forefront.

What resonates most is the exploration of family bonds, past secrets, and the power of love to overcome even the most deep-seated differences. The supporting cast, including India's great-aunt Elspeth and Logan's grandfather John, adds depth and warmth to the story.

I was drawn into the world of MacFarlane Landing, invested in India and Logan's journey, and touched by the poignant portrayal of second-chance love between the older characters.

A beautifully told, nail-biting tale full of intrigue and romance. Highly recommended.

I've been waiting for this latest novel from Lizzie Lamb with bated breath - intrigued by the setting, as it's a departure for an author, who writes the most wonderful Scottish-themed romantic fiction. I was certainly not disappointed, as yet again the vivid writing swept me away to another place and Lizzie's wonderful characters with their heart-stopping 'will they/won't they' story had me completely captivated.
As soon as India grabbed that monkey wrench, I knew she was a heroine I'd be rooting for and McFarlane's arrogance combined with the tenderness he showed his elderly grandfather had me falling for him, hook, line and sinker.
A beautifully told tale, full of romance, layered with the ghost of a past love and the echo of a distant piper serenading a not yet forgotten feud, this is another cracking read from Ms Lamb. Highly recommended!

It's hard to think up anything new to say about this one. I've read all of Ms Lamb's books and they are all delicious romances. This one is no exception. I felt I needed to zip through it as quickly as I could to make sure the ending was right! Which of course it was. Actually, this book is a bit different because it is set in the US instead of the UK, but of course we are all so familiar with American sort of landscapes and country way of life that it all read very authentically to me. Okay, so the plot was a tad predictable, but that's kindof what the reader wants in a romance. I loved the setting of the old house by the lake in a small town community where everyone knows everyone else's business – come to think of it, it's not so different from British villages! The characters were large as life, the hero a handsome hunk – what more can a girl want?

I admittedly don’t read a ton of contemporary romance, but Take Me, I’m Yours, immediately drew me in with the vivid descriptions of Wisconsin. There was a real feeling to this small town community where everyone knows everyone’s business.

Lizzie Lamb has created two complex and relatable characters in India and Logan. She has crafted a beautiful love story full of twists and turns, with two characters with difficult histories and family drama. I love the dialogue between the two. There is this push and pull with them that really had me hooked.

For anyone who loves the contemporary romance genre, or like me, anyone that is trying to broaden their horizons, I definitely recommend Take Me, I’m Yours.

I absolutely loved the sizzling attraction in this romance (not to mention the sizzling hero!) I love a spirited heroine, too, and India Buchanan is more than a match for Logan MacFarlane. The dialogue between the two sparkles with wit and sexual tension, giving the story all the page-turning quality of a classic romance. Besides the central love story, there is also a well-written cast of supporting characters I was sad to say goodbye to – not to mention the wonderfully described setting. I must admit it was the Wisconsin setting that first drew me to this novel. I’ve never been to this part of the world, and I looked forward to discovering more about it. I wasn’t disappointed, and I was really glad I picked up this book. A fab read that I highly recommend!

Wow! Wow! Wow!

Take Me, I'm Yours is a story based on a 150 year old feud between two famillies and what happens when the two youngest members meet and fall in love. It is not an easy ride, in fact it is downright frustrating and you just want them to get on with it! Lol. This love story is on fire! Characters who are stubborn with a lot of sass and determination but plenty of love entertains you from beginning to end. The writing is witty, funny and full of energy, Lizzie Lamb brings you a real treat. You will enjoy this! Well done Mrs Lamb, you have done yourself proud, once again 😊😊😊5* xxxx

I dnf'd early on.

India is alone and in an isolated area when Logan (who does NOT tell he who he is) rides up on his motorcycle and promptly threatens her to the extent that she picks up a monkey wrench, but even that does not stop him coming closer and getting in her space.

Sorry. There is NO excuse for anyone behaving like that. And first impressions tend to stick with a person. There is not a cat in hells chance I'd be comfortable around a man who scared me like Logan did and I am expected to believe that she will fall madly in love with the jerk?

Nope. Not going to happen.

The cover did nothing for me, and I had not previously read anything by Lizzie Lamb, but I was persuaded to sign up for this blog tour because I was intrigued by the blurb and the title. And I was not to be disappointed in the slightest with this lively story.

This is a well-written tale of feuding down the centuries causing hostile relations between the members of the two families - the MacFarlanes and the Buchanans. Every generation carries on the feud, and now it is India Buchanan and Logan MacFarlane's turn. I lived their journey with them, as India and Logan experienced a rush of emotions from loathing to love and everything in between.

I was hooked from the moment India picked up the monkey wrench, determined to defend herself, if necessary, from the bullying Logan - and I did not want to put it down. I thought all of the characters were totally believable, and the plot twists and turns kept me reading, long into the night.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will definitely be looking out for more in this series.

Almost from the first word, this novel fairly sizzles with sexual tension as well as conflict between the two protagonists, India Buchanan and Logan McFarlane and is a brilliant example for any would-be writer. Set in present day Wisconsin, in the US, India and Logan are the last descendants from a long-standing feud between the two families over what both see as their rightful homestead. India wants to turn her great-aunt’s Elspeth house into an up-market bed and breakfast business while Logan wants the house back for his ailing grandfather, John McFarlane. Both India and Logan are products of their own upbringing which impacts on their relationship and takes until almost the end of the book for their differences to be resolved. I think this is one of the best books that Ms Lamb has written and shows her increased writing maturity.

I've read a couple of Lizzie's books set in Scotland but this one has the best of both worlds, being set in Wisconsin albeit with a strong Scottish thread running through. Once again we have some fabulous characters whose fiery tempers keep love on the back burner. At one point I wanted to knock both their heads together and tell them to get on with it - always a good sign that the characters are believable. With the past keeping Logan and India apart, they seem doomed to carry the family feud forward - echoes of the Capulets and Montagues here but fortunately there is a much happier ending for the Buchanans and MacFarlanes. Nice touches too in the relationship between the elder heads of the two families.

I've loved all of Lizzie Lamb's Scottish settings -(that country's in her blood, of course!) - and wasn't absolutely sure about this change of scene. Have to say, I just loved it. Loved the story -with its blend of romance, history and intrigue; loved that wonderful setting and cast of characters!
So, Vive la Difference!
A really smashing summer read,
